From Brazil : Arsenal Line up Their Man For The Director of Football Role and We Couldn't Agree More
Arsenal have approached former midfielder Edu Gaspar for the role of Director of Football. The North London club continue on their path to rehabilitation after the exit of Arsene Wenger last summer and Ivan Gazidis leaving for AC Milan last month. Arsene Wenger tended to control most of the footballing decisions at Arsenal, before being replaced by Unai Emery. After Gazidis's shock exit to AC Milan, Raul Sanllehi was promoted to the head of football job, with Vinai Venkatesham moving from chief commercial officer to managing director with Sven Mislintat continuing as the head of recruitment. Edu, a fan favourite at his time with the Gunners, won two trophies with the club between 2001 and 2005, including the legendary invincible season, making 127 appearances for the club. In 2005, he joined Valencia before leaving for leaving for boyhood club Corinthians in 2009. After taking retirement in 2010, he took over the role of director of football at Corinthians and has since become the technical director of the Brazil national team. It is understood that contact has been made between Edu and Arsenal. Reports in Brazil stated that the Brazilian has been offered the job with Brazil's football association being aware about the situation, but there has been no word from the 40-year-old's side. It is reported that Unai Emery is 'relaxed' about the situation, given he worked under similar structures at Paris Saint-Germain. The hunt for a director of football continues for Arsenal this transfer season as they travel to West Ham for a North London Derby. Embed from Getty Imageswindow.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'fd19UqppTg5yO62Tv7izhw',sig:'BSis_urwr3h9GeNbiTNeomxnsHt31EYLzuJtsz5Jn10=',w:'594px',h:'425px',items:'129049641',caption: true ,tld:'in',is360: false })}); Breaking Arsenal News : https://arsedevils.com/yannick-carrasco-arsenal-move-agreed/11141/ https://arsedevils.com/unai-emery-transfer-denis-suarez/11093/ https://arsedevils.com/juve-defender-benatia-aaron-ramsey/11067/ It has been quite a season for Arsenal. A season with a lot of restructuring on and off the field. But there are a lot of positives to be taken from that and it makes us say that that we are moving in a positive direction. A director of football is an important position in a football club. It is because we want to have a structure in place where we have a vision in mind and we can give the manager the proper environment and finances to work with. Moreover in quite a few cases recently we have seen that what a director of football's absence can do to a football club. Hence the fact that Arsenal are looking to put in more faces behind the scenes and with people who can actually make a difference, does make a lot of sense. Edu, having previously worked as the director of football at Corinthians, has certainly got the experience for the job. And also being a former Arsenal player and an invincible at that, it will most certainly be an onus to have him in the job simply because he knows the club, he knows the fans and truly understands the values on which the club was built. Fairly certain to say that if the move does materialise, the Gunners will surely have made the right move in the forward direction and with the right thinking behind all of it. Read the full article

Thiago is a wanted man (Picture: Getty)Arsenal have reportedly enquired about the availability of Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, with Liverpool facing competition over his signature. The Spain international, who will be involved in Sunday night’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, looked set for a move to Anfield this summer but a deal has yet to be completed. He has one year left on his contract with the German giants, who are keen to sell him this summer rather than lose him on a free transfer at the end of next season. Bayern are demanding £23million for the 29-year-old, which Liverpool deem excessive seeing as they could approach him in January to discuss a Bosman. With Liverpool stalling over a deal, Arsenal have made an approach as Mikel Arteta looks to add to his squad, according to the Daily Mail. They also want his price to be reduced. Arteta is interested in Thiago (Picture: Arsenal FC via Getty)The Gunners will look to offload the likes of Lucas Torreira and Mohamed Elneny in order to help fund the move. Per Mertesacker, the head of Arsenal’s academy, warned Thiago he would have to adapt if he moved to Anfield. ‘I can already imagine the transfer, but the midfield axis of Liverpool is set up, Mertesacker told Goal and SPOX. ‘Getting in there is very ambitious, but he’s a top footballer who can play anywhere. Arsenal Transfer plans
So the season's over, the summer transfer window is here and as usual we're going to be linked with all sorts of players especially strikers but I can't see Wenger buying more than 4 players although he needs to do more in my opinion. Areas that need strengthening: 1. Right back With Sagna impending departure looming we really need an experienced player for this role. Jenkinson is a good player and I liked what he was doing at the start of the season while Sagna was injured. He earned himself a call up to the National team and that said it all really. He's still young and I think given time he can develop into a Lee Dixon type of player for us. However, I feel Wenger needs to sign a more experienced head, one who won't get fazed by the occasion. Juan Fran would ideal, I enjoyed watching his duel with Ronaldo, not many defenders can deal with his pace and trickery and he coped quite well forcing the forward to drift into the middle several times where he was less effective. I don't know how willing Atletico would be to let him go but if I was Wenger I would give it a shot. 2. CDM This is the role together with the striking department that Wenger didn't manage to properly address last season. No disrespect to Flamini because I think he's a real warrior but it seems he hasn't done enough to displace Arteta in that role. We need a solid player with discipline who can breakdown attacks and give the defence enough cover while encouraging Ramsey and Ozil to do what they do best. I would like to see either Lars Bender,Ilkay Gundogan or Paul Pogba. If these players prove hard to get than maybe Shneiderlin will suffice. 3. Goalkeeper Here we need a guy who can offer Sczcezny some competition. Victor Valdes is a free agent this summer. I'd like to see that deal happen. 4. Striker This is the area Wenger needs to break the bank in my opinion. I've seen Remy and Benzema being mentioned for the last several transfer windows but I think he needs a consistent striker who can really terrorise defenders. Someone like Falcao or Diego Costa are a different class of a striker. Both of them have had their share of injuries but when fit they'll come in and do the job. If there's money left after getting these guys then he can buy Cesc. Lol

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha is a ‘unique’ talent (Picture: Getty)Mikel Arteta has spoken out on the difficulties of facing Wilfried Zaha ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace and talked up the possibility of signing the ‘phenomenal’ forward. The Gunners will be looking for their third win on the bounce in all competitions when they head to Selhurst Park on Saturday and Arteta appears to have raised spirits inside the dressing room after a dismal start to the season under Unai Emery. However, the Spaniard is under no illusion that Arsenal must strengthen this January and Zaha has been one of the many names linked to the north London club over recent weeks. Both Arsenal and Everton had significant bids rejected for Zaha in the summer transfer window but Palace refused to listen to offers of less than £80million. Arsenal failed with a bid to sign Zaha in the summer (Picture: Getty)Zaha has responded well to being denied a move, racking up three goals and two assists for the Eagles in the Premier League, and Arteta believes Arsenal’s defenders will have to be on their game to keep out the Ivorian. Arsenal have made a habit of conceding penalties to Palace in recent times and Arteta has warned his players over Zaha’s ability to draw fouls inside the box. On the prospect of facing Zaha this weekend, Arteta said: ‘He’s one of the things to be aware of. ‘We know Wilf, the type of talent he is, and when he gets isolated in one-vs-one situations what he can do. ‘Of course he will be part of the game-plan.’ MORE: UK Bungling ram raider almost crushes accomplice reversing into jewellery shopDoctor Who series 12: Spyfall originally featured a shocking character deathKate Beckinsale slams trolls after they shamed her for hanging out with Machine Gun KellyArteta refused to deny that Arsenal have an interest in Zaha and believes the attacker is a ‘unique’ talent in English football. Juventus are ready to offer Adrien Rabiot to Manchester United (REX)Juventus are prepared to offer Adrien Rabiot to Manchester United as part of their bid to sign Paul Pogba, according to reports. United re-signed Pogba from Juventus for £89 million in 2016 but the France international now wants to leave Old Trafford. Juventus are in the running to sign Pogba for a second time and the Serie A champions are reportedly confident that an agreement can be reached with United. According to The Sun, Juve believe United would accept a deal worth around £85 million to sell Pogba in the January transfer window. The report claims that Juve value Rabiot, who was signed on a free transfer last summer, at £25m and are ready to offer an additional £60m cash. Juventus are preparing a new bid for Paul Pogba (Getty Images)Rabiot is also wanted by Arsenal with Mikel Arteta identifying the 24-year-old as a player who can improve his options in midfield. But following Calum Chambers’ long-term injury, the Gunners have now switched their focus on signing a new central defender as a priority and talks have opened with Bayern Munich over a potential deal for Jerome Boateng. Today’s edition is made up of the pursuit of a Chelsea man, a Serie A side after a young Pole and the battle to sign a former Juventus player. ARSENAL AFTER BAKAYOKO According to RMC Sport, Arsenal are interested in signing Tiemoue Bakayoko. However, it is not just the Gunners who have their eyes on the 24-year-old: they are joined by both PSG and Manchester United. ITALIAN GIANTS AFTER BIELIK Polish outlet Przeglad Sportowy is reporting that AC Milan are thinking of taking 6 foot 2 defender-come-midfielder Krystian Bielik to the San Siro. A number of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Jacob Bruun Larsen from Borussia Dortmund (Picture: Getty)Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have all expressed interest in signing Borussia Dortmund starlet Jacob Bruun Larsen, reports say. Denmark winger Larsen enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2018-19, making 24 appearances in all competitions to help Dortmund challenge for the Bundesliga title and progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League. The 20-year-old initially made his debut for the German club in 2017 but was sent out on loan to Stuttgart the following year, before impressing throughout the most recent campaign. Larsen’s performances have not gone unnoticed and The Sun say English rivals Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are all keeping tabs on the Danish star. Liverpool are not expected to seal any marquee signings this summer following a season in which they won the Champions League and finished second in the Premier League. But Jurgen Klopp is open to bolstering his squad with some new arrivals and still has close connections with Larsen’s club Dortmund, who he managed before joining the Reds. Manchester United have enjoyed a busy start to the summer window, signing Daniel James from Swansea City and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace. Larsen made his debut for Denmark earlier in the year (Picture: Getty)But the Red Devils are set to secure several more new players as they bid to improve following a dismal 2018-19 campaign under first Jose Mourinho and then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Larsen, who Sven Mislintat reportedly identified as a possible target before leaving the Emirates earlier in the year. The Gunners are still waiting to complete their first summer signing and could look to sign Larsen if their pursuit of Wilfried Zaha fails. The Ivory Coast international is keen to join the Gunners, who he supported growing up, but Palace are reluctant to lost another star player following Wan-Bissaka’s move to Old Trafford. Shkodran Mustafi could be leaving Arsenal this summer (AMA/Getty Images)Unai Emery told Arsenal’s hierarchy to sell Shkodran Mustafi after his side’s defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League final, according to reports. The Gunners missed out on a place in next season’s Champions League after they were beaten 4-1 by Chelsea in Baku. Mustafi, meanwhile, had a season to forget as he was heavily criticised for several mistakes, including one error in the 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace in April which cost Arsenal ground in the race for a top-four place in the Premier League. Emery defended Mustafi throughout the season and even urged Arsenal supporters to tone down their criticism of the Germany international. Unai Emery had backed Mustafi but has now changed his stance (Getty Images)But according to the BBC, Emery’s stance over Mustafi drastically changed after his side’s loss in the Europa League. It’s claimed that Emery decided that ‘enough was enough’ with Mustafi and the Spaniard was ‘no longer in favour of keeping him’. It is also reported that Arsenal have tried to sell Mustafi in every transfer window since they signed him in a £35 million deal from Valencia in August 2016. Breaking | €40 Mil Former Atletico Madrid Winger Approves Arsenal Approach After Club Makes Initial Contact
Former Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco has reportedly signalled his intent to return to European football from China after receiving interest from host of top European clubs. According to reports in the Mirror, Arsenal have made initial contact and have received 'approval' from the player to further pursue a move with the club. After a bright start to the season, Unai Emery’s Arsenal have hit a bit of a lull, picking up only 11 points out of a possible 21 from the last seven premier league games, while also bowing out of the Carabao Cup to North London rivals, Spurs. While defence continues to be the most worrisome faction of the team, another recurring problem is the lack of consistency in our attack. After multiple shuffles, Emery still hasn’t found the right formula for an effective front line for the team, and if the strong performances of Liverpool and Manchester City are anything to go by, a right mix of flair, pace and creativity in the attack seems to be the recipe for success in this daunting league. With the current crop of wingers – Alex iwobi and Mkhitaryan blowing hot and cold, and Danny Welbeck out for the season with an ankle injury, Emery is on the look out for a player to nail down his position in the flanks. One such player, who could potentially fit the bill, is Yannick Carrasco. The 25-year-old left Atletico Madrid for Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang in February last year, and with his best years ahead of him, looks to make the comeback to Europe. He’s currently enjoying a good spell of form, having scored seven goals while also adding nine assists to his tally this season. A report from Sky Sports Italia suggested that Arsenal are currently frontrunners in the signature of the Belgian, with AC Milan and Manchester United also lurking for the winger. Read More Arsenal News : https://arsedevils.com/arsenal-aaron-replacement-hector-herrera/11095/ https://arsedevils.com/pereira-move-united-midfielder-arsenal/11091/ https://arsedevils.com/juve-defender-benatia-aaron-ramsey/11067/ However one significant factor which might potentially hold up Yannick Carrasco transfer is the players weekly wage demand which is expected be around £170,000-a-week. Even though the report states that the player would potentially be interested in significantly lowering his wage demands should a move materialise, the fact that Arsenal would rather allow a player like Aaron Ramsey leave on a free transfer than offer him a lucrative deals goes on to show how financially constrained Arsenal are at the moment. Nevertheless Signing Yannick Carrasco would be a strong addition to the Emery’s side, who look to finish the second half of the season strong, and hopefully get back to playing the Champions League next season. Emery has already spoken in depth about his intentions of securing a winger in this window and now it remains to be seen if Yannick Carrasco is the player they decide to proceed with.
