This depressing and moralistic portrayal of teenage school bullying and gun violence has a short appearance from Lynskey as a nice mom. It's difficult to dislike this well-intentioned film, but there's nothing interesting I can find or write about it.

Itsy Bitsy will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 1 via Scream Factory. The creature feature is currently available on VOD.

The film marks the feature debut of director Micah Gallo, who previously served as visual effects producer on such films as Hatchet and Frozen. Bruce Davison, Denise Crosby, Elizabeth Ann Roberts, Chloe Perrin, Arman Darbo, Eileen Dietz, and Matty Cardarople star.

[Trailer] Horror Film ITSY BITSY Crafts a Web of Fright

Move over, Eight Legged Freaks, there’s a new spider horrror in town. After raising an impressive amount during their Kickstarter Campaign, the team behind Itsy Bitsy have released their first trailer. The horror flick takes aim at your nostalgia by taking the childhood nursery rhyme ‘The Itsy Bitsy Spider’ and crafting a creepy legend and equally terrifying monster to lurk in the shadows.

Synopsis:

The film tells the story of single mother “Kara” (Elizabeth Roberts) who moves from New York to the quiet countryside with her two children for a job opportunity she can’t afford to turn down. The family moves into their humble new guesthouse. Kara begins her work as a private nurse to “Walter,” (Bruce Davison) a man stricken with multiple sclerosis and an appraiser of rare antiquities with a secretive past.

Her teenage son, Jesse, (Arman Darbo) is unhappy about this most of all. Losing his friends and moving to the middle of nowhere hasn’t made his job of looking after his little sister, “Cambria,” (Chloe Perrin) any easier.

Doom precedes them. “Akiba,” (Treva Etienne) a shady international associate of Walter’s, brings with him a mysterious relic of ancient origin. “Kara” encounters run in with a local sheriff played by genre veteran actor Denise Crosby.

All too quickly they discover the relic contains more than just legends. Inside, waits a terrifying creature born of ancient darkness and pure instinct…a pre-historic cave Spider unlike the modern world has ever seen.

Itsy Bitsy stars Eileen Dietz, Denise Crosby, Bruce Davison, Matty Cardarople, Treva Etienne, Elizabeth Roberts, Chloe Pernin, Arman Darbo, Grace Shen, and Doua Moua. The film is written by Jason Alvino and Bryan Dick, with Micah Gallo (Hatchet) directing at the helm.

Itsy Bitsy is currently in post-production and anticipates a 2018 release.

The new drama And Then I Go stars Arman Darbo as Edwin, a high school student who is picked on by both teachers and students while his parents try, but fail miserably, to understand his problems. His only friend is another alienated boy named Flake (Sawyer Barth), whose desire for vengeance in the face of their daily humiliations taps into Edwin’s insecurities, and leads them towards catastrophe.

Adapted from Jim Shepard’s novel Project X, director Vincent Grashaw’s film costars Melanie Lynskey, Justin Long, Tony Hale, Carrie Preston, Melonie Diaz, and Royalty Hightower. And Then I Go receives its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival, June 16.

“From a plot perspective, And Then I Go is about a school shooting,” says Grashaw in his director’s statement. “An epidemic in the United States that has become part of our youth’s vocabulary. It’s in the aftermath of these tragedies when we long for answers. ‘Who would do this? How? WHY?’ Understandably, we point fingers at gun laws, mental illness, bullies, or the parents and teachers who don’t pay close enough attention. It’s cyclical and frustrating… While the topic of school shootings is divisive, my intention is not to make a bold statement about why these tragedies occur. There is no single answer, but I have always believed it’s easier to paint a perpetrator as ‘a monster’ or ‘evil’ simply to close the book on the matter. It may provide some closure, but in doing so, you’re unable to learn anything. Rather, the goal is to present audiences with an opportunity to go on a journey with two troubled kids in order to try and understand.”
