The one with the confession

(Joey admitting his feelings towards Aricka and her finally, finally reciprocating)

“You’re the most beautiful woman I know… even before makeup- I’d see you all sleepy in the morning and you’d give me that smile and a warm hug, and I’d think- “Man, I’d love to be the guy that wakes up next to her every morning.” And it killed me cause I could never tell you. But it was worth it- just to be there, to be able to see you. To look at your face. To know I could bask in your presence.” Aricka stares at Joey with a muted look of horror towards herself at the sudden realization hitting her-

She’d hurt Joey. Her Joey. Her sweet, lovable, always huggable, never shares food with anyone but her, Joey.

Oh gosh. He had something to tell her but she made him feel like he couldn’t-?

He looks at Aricka and her eyes fill with unshed tears as she whispered,

“Yes you can,” and she moves to straddle his legs as she repeats, “yes you could,” before kissing him without letting herself doubt her thoughts or feelings.

His hands slide up her back after momentarily freezing, one hand bracing her neck and the other cupping her cheek to deepen the kiss.

Aricka’s hand slips into his hair, the other gripping the collar of his shirt

The moment passes, she presses her forehead against his. Their eyes still closed, hands still gripping onto each other. “… Joey, tell me. Tell me what it was killing you to keep repressed. Tell me, baby.”

The demand- the request- was too strong to resist, and, eyes still closed, Joey whispered, “I love you Aricka Elise Green.”

A soft, wispy sigh leaves Aricka’s lips as she replies, “I love you, Joseph Francis Tribbiani Jr.”and then, knowing that this would make it real, opens her eyes as she repeats, “Ti amerò per sempre, my Joey.” (I’ll love you forever.)

Those chocolate-hazel eyes she had come to adore and love so much snap open and stare her down. She blushes but keeps her hold on him where it was. “… I learned for you.”

“I’m gonna have to kiss you again for that,” he warns, before doing just that; only now his hand was in her hair, tangled up in her short pixie cut strands and his other was still holding her face like she was something precious.

Aricka’s hand only grips tighter around his shirt collar, her other hand slipping down to his own cheek, angling him how she wants.

Once more, the moment passes; only this time Aricka slips her arms around Joey in a hug, one of the very hugs he’d called warm, and held on tight. “I’m not leaving you.” He hugs her back just as tightly, basking in it. Soaking her up like a sponge.

“And I’m not leaving you,” he vowed. “Until you send me away.”

She hums, looks at him, still straddling his legs. “Then you’re gonna be mine forever.”

“I can live with that,” he says, before pulling her back in for another belly-dropping kiss that left her breathless. “Ti amo, bella.”(I love you, beautiful.)

“Right back at you, good lookin’.”
