Let It Snow.

Tumblr media
The cold seeps in slow and undetectable at first, the falling leaves are the first clue. Crunching crisp leaves turn into sludge. One wrong misstep could send your ankle rolling unnaturally and your heart rate skyrocketing. The cold nips at your nose and cheeks, it makes you shudder stepping out into the elements, large coats and woollen hats appear in the streets as people move more quickly, desperate to find a place of warmth. Then suddenly, all at once. The snows arrive and the world is bathed in a pristine white glow that brings the promise of YuleTide and once again Bucky is reminded how much he hates the cold.
Sam rips into him, howling at how such an imposing man could look like a petulant child swaddled in jumpers and scarves that cover the bottom half of his face his ice blue eyes rivalling the icicles that shine in the low morning sunlight. He tries to hide his discomfort from you, but you can see right through him.
You notice the way he favours his left shoulder in the mornings, the cold stabbing at the torn and reassembled muscle to steel. Not even Shuri’s genius with vibranium can fix seventy years of damaging scar tissue, you know it will be something Bucky will carry with him always. Just like how the cold brings back flashes of old memories, a fast-moving train. Steve screaming, cold sterilised rooms Hydra kept him in during his years of “service”. The memories don't keep him awake at night like they used to, but the cold always brings them back, how ironic that the Winter Soldier despises the very season he’s named after.
On this particular day morning arrives as usual, sunrise bathing the room in soft pink and orange hues. It catches the dust particles floating through the air before disappearing into the shadows, you smile softly, snuggling into the large heat source next to you. Tilting your chin upwards, you watch the sleeping man. There was a time you’d be the one waking up to him looking down at you, ice blue eyes crinkling at the edges as he gives you a soft smile only reserved for you. It’s a smile that sends a thousand fireflies bursting in your chest.
He’s on his back, one arm curled around your waist, the black vibranium tucked under his pillow beneath his head. His plump lips opened slightly, he’s relaxed. Open and vulnerable in your presence, it makes you reach out to trace the curve of his nose. The light touch makes him follow you, turning his head towards your smiling face.
“Good morning handsome.”
“Morning, sugar.”
Soft kisses press against your palm and wrist, sleeping snuffling noises akin to a puppy fall from his lips make you chuckle.
“You got that meeting in an hour.” you remind him gently, your fingers finding home against his skull. You scratch against it lightly as Bucky starts purring in earnest.
“But it’s nice and warm here, don’t wanna get up. Too cold.” To prove a point he tucks his toes behind your calves. The freezing offending toes in question make you squeak, donkey kicking back in retaliation you try and wiggle your way out of his grip. Bucky pouts grabbing at you gently.
“Why are you running from me, pretty girl, you wanna break this old man’s heart?”
You roll your eyes shifting quickly to straddle his waist, leaning down to kiss him soundly on the lips. “I’d never dream of it, but Sam might break something if you’re late again. You’re debriefing Peter and Carol remember,” you try not to grin at Bucky's expense as he groans pulling a pillow over his face.
“Come on, the sooner you get up, the sooner you can come back to the fun activity I’ve got planned for us.” You watch as the pillow is flung off his head, hands instantly on your hips as he gazes up at you through thick black lashes.
“Pretty sure we already did a fun activity last night… twice.” Despite fully remembering said fun activity, his words still manage to make you blush as you slap his hands off your hips springing off him with as much grace you can muster at eight in the morning.
“Up and at 'em, Sarge, the day is dawning.” You wander into the bathroom away from Bucky's soft groaning, the cold already settling in his bones.
~~
Bucky often wonders what his life would have been like if he never fell off that damn train. If he made it back home after the war if Steve never crashed the plane into the glacier. Would they have settled back in Brooklyn, would he have found a pretty dame that could have handled all the trauma he had gone through. Probably not, he doesn’t like to think about that too much. Because that world didn’t have you, or the small apartment you both shared in Brooklyn (at least the idea of settling in Brooklyn still stuck, just like the damn snow under his boots) The white offensive substance crunched merrily underfoot as he stomped up the steps to the apartment building. The cold he felt this morning still clung to his insides like frost, he still didn’t feel any warmer as he trundled into the lobby of the building. Stomping and shaking the snow off him like a dog, hair hanging limply against his cheeks, he really needed to start wearing that beanie you got him last week. Going through the mundane checklist of opening the mailbox, he relishes in the normality. Especially after reprimanding two superhumans about how-
“Just because you’re indestructible and can shoot webs out of god knows where you can not Instagram live a mission.”
With a handful of what he assumes is more Christmas cards, he thumps heavily up the stairs, no doubt to the irritation of Ms Jenkins on the second floor. Miserable woman, Bucky couldn’t recall a time where he has seen her smile.
“I'm home,” he calls through the familiar space as he shoulder opens the door, instant warmth floods through his damp coat, his skin tingling sharply.
Shrugging off the offending damn coat, he hangs it by your bright red one, the woollen material a bright contrast to his black. He smiles as he recalls your comment as you pull it out from the depths of your wardrobe.
“Red is such a festive colour! Everyone should have a Christmas coat, James, it should be the law.”
“I swear that’s the last time I’m letting Sam put Danvers and the Parker kid on missions again. They cause more havoc than they stop, I swear to…”
The words die on his throat faster than the Central Park lake freezing over in January. The living room, which had looked relatively normal this morning, was now what can only be described as an explosion of Christmas. Fairy lights strung along each wall and shelving. Small ornaments stood proud on the mantle, the familiar sight of the pine tree towered in the corner of the room like a festive sentinel standing guard looking over the room, but what makes Bucky's heart simultaneously melt and expand is the pile of pillows and blankets in the middle of the room. His eyes gaze around the room till he finds you, stood by the tree, fuzzy socks on your feet as you push the sleeves of his grey hoodie up your arms.
“Help a girl will you, Sarge?” The grin that spreads across your lips is slow and sweet like molasses. Innocently holding out the glistening star towards him, Bucky toes off his boots and strides towards you, curling the black and gold arm around you as he takes the star gently out of your hand.
“You going to let me do the honours, sweetheart?”
“Wouldn’t feel like Christmas if you didn’t.”
He feels your wrap your arms around his waist as he leans upwards to place the twinkling star atop the tree, warm hands slide under his shirt, leaving a burning trail against his skin that shoots down to the very nucleus of his cells.
“Perfect,” you whisper into his shoulder as you both stand back looking at the tree, your hands rub small circles on his lower back as you feel him drop his lips to the top of your head.
“You really are.”
“I was talking about the tree, you old sap.” You poke his side for good measure only to be pulled back into his embrace.
“Well, everything’s ready for an afternoon in front of the fireplace. Go get changed then meet me back here.” You give his ass a light tap as you push him gently towards your bedroom.
“Alright, alright, woman, can’t a man enjoy holding his sweetheart in his arms for a few moments?”
You knew his words were empty, especially with the bright grin radiating from him. With a spring in his step, he makes quick work of changing into the soft grey sweatpants and red sweatshirt laid out on the bed. Eager to be back in your arms and under the soft blankets, the cold winds whipping against the windows, but Bucky can’t find a reason to pay them any mind. Not when you’re sitting pretty in front of the fire, two steaming cups in each hand, no doubt with It’s A Wonderful Life queued up on the tv. He doesn’t think of the seventy years spent cold, alone and in pain. He’d walk through the worst blizzard till his toes were purple and his nose frostbitten to hell if it meant you would be at the end waiting for him, with all the warmth in the world to thaw him out, calling him back home.

Mr. Steven Grant Rogers was a workaholic. It wasn’t a secret and after dozens of complaints, he himself stopped correcting people. The I just like things done’ talk was not working, so he gave up on trying to excuse himself. He liked things done in his own way, at his own time, and if that made him a workaholic, than beat it.
“It doesn’t have to be a bad thing, you know”, you told him once when he visited the little coffee shop that Tony let you open in the Tower. After all ‘even Avengers need some sweetness in their lives' as he used to say.
“Then why does it make me feel like it is?” He asked, shoveling one of his favourite apple filled croissant into his mouth. “No one seems to mind when Tony spends nights in his office.”
“Because Stark had enough time in his wild life to actually enjoy it.” You topped his coffee mug and smiled. “When was the last time you did something that actually made you happy? Brought a genuine smile on that cute face of yours?” You chuckled seeing him blush. It always amazed you how easy it was to make him uncomfortable. You would think that a man like him didn’t have a problem with women and yet here he was. As shy as a teenage boy.
“There isn’t much that makes me happy nowadays”, he whispered and you felt your heart breaking into million tiny pieces seeing his sad expression. The way he averted his gaze away from you made you sigh and reach for his hand.
Rogers has become your best friend surprisingly fast. You enjoyed his company the first second he came to your shop looking like a lost puppy. Seeing how much trouble it brought him to decide from the menu, you helped him chose the dessert and he decided to try a new coffee and beverage every time he came over to decide what he likes. The small, anxious and nervous talks quickly changed into the ‘get to know you’ talks and you found yourself enjoying his company more and more with his every visit. Which also became more frequent. With at least one visit per day he quickly became your VIP guest. He always blamed his metabolism and your ‘delicious’ sweets for that. But you never fought him on it. You were too happy to have him here to question anything.
And he liked coming to see you. You never seen him as Captain America. Or the Avenger. It was a nice feeling to be Steve Rogers. The shy, anxious man who didn’t know how to speak to a dame. Steve from the 40s. You were an excellent listener, always happy to lean closer and listen to his ‘boring stories’. You never forced him to tell you about the missions, but were ready to comfort him if he needed it. Normally it was with a coffee and a piece of an apple pie on the house, but the longer you knew each other, the more frequent hugs became.
“I promise”, you started quietly, bringing his attention back to you. “ I promise I will help you find whatever makes you happy. I want to see that pretty face light up.”
He was thankful. You seemed like you always knew what to say and do whenever he was down. It wasn’t only the little sweet gifts you gave him as a bribery to get him to talk. But the aura around you always made him relax and just trust you. LIke you were this amazing support system that always knew what he needed.
He took a deep breath, looked at all the papers and hid his tired face in his hands. The paperwork was growing everyday and he felt like this was a mountain a bit too big for him to climb. He didn’t want anyone to overwork so he always did it by himself, but he was slowly starting to lose hope.
He straightened up when the smell of freshly baked cookies caught his attention. He wasn’t sure how he did not pick up the sound of you coming in, but the little box in your hand caught all of his attention.
“How long have you been standing there?” He asked, turning in his chair towards you. The smile you gave him melted his heart a little. It always amazed him, the way you looked at him. The way your eyes shined whenever he caught them staring at him. That little smile that was only reserved for him made him feel special. Not the Captain America special. But a ‘man’ special.
“Long enough to see that you need a break for some freshly baked new specials and hot chocolate.” He smiled and pulled a chair closer to him, inviting you to sit down. You accepted the request and handed him the cup, opening the box. “Those are my new invention. I hoped you could be my guinea pig?” He chuckled at it, taking one of the cookies. It was like an arrangement between the two of you. Whenever you baked something new, he would be the first one to taste your experiments. In return, you would use his muscles power for some food shopping. Two way deal.
“What's wrong?” He finally asked when you started to look at the window, which he had both closed and shut out from any light coming in.
“Snow”, you mumbled quietly, taking a sip of the hot cocoa. “It’s snowing.” He raised his brow, stood up and opened the curtains of his window to be met not only with the snow, but also the moon. He looked on the clock and cursed himself. It was past nine P.M. The time passed without even knowing when. What surprised him more, was why you were still here. Not that he was complaining.
“Do you need help to get home?” You looked up at him and couldn't help but laugh at his lost expression and the adorable gentleman that was still inside him. Of course. Steve Rogers would never leave a dame in distress.
“I was wondering…” The nerves were getting better of you. You knew that he was busy and you probably have to say no, but you still came here with a hope. But hell, a girl should try, right? So you got up, walked to the little couch he had in his office and grabbed both your and his coat, that were hanging outside of the room. “It’s the first snow of the year… And I always like to watch it. You know, go somewhere high, like a roof, and just stare at the city slowly plunged in snow.” you blushed and looked away when his eyes met yours. You bit your lip nervously and your shoulders dropped. “I mean I understand you’re busy. I see the paperwork… but I was hoping you would take some time off for a while… And you”, you looked up and smiled nervously. “Maybe this would be the thing that would bring a smile to your face?” His eyes widened and a little smirk appeared on his lips. “I mean you don’t have to…”
“I’ll take some fresh air”, he said, taking the coat from you. You beamed at him and started to put yours on, of course with his help. You had a cute winter hat on, a puffy scarf and warm gloves. He looked at you and chuckled at your protection.
“Well, I’m sorry” you whined sarcastically, “Not everyone has super serum to keep them warm.” He nodded apologising and walked into the elevator. You looked up when he shifted uncomfortably. His face blushed, at the bottom lip caught between his white, perfect teeth.
“Well… You have a soldier with super serum in him to keep you warm”, he finally said, so quietly that you weren’t sure whether it was directed towards you. He wasn’t looking at you, gazing at the wall in front of him. His body was tense, and fingers were playing with the hem of his winter coat. You couldn’t help but smile at how adorable he looked. And before you were able to stop yourself, you encircled your hand with his, squeezing it a bit. His eyes travelled down to your linked hands and a bashful smile appeared on his face. He squeezed your hand back, and his body relaxed a little.
Your smile widened when the elevator opened and you were literally pulling Steve with you to the roof. It was your favourite place on earth. The tower was high enough for you to see the city and with the snow and late hour it looked even more magical.
"Someone's excited", he chuckled at how you started to walk faster.
"Just wait, smartass!" He smirked and raised his brow at your pouting face. Oh how much he just wanted to kiss that pout away. When you squeezed his hand and accepted his stupid outburst of words, he made a decision.  Today will be the day he will make a move. No more flirting and humping around. He's going to ask you out and make you fall in love with him as much as he is with you. "Look!" You exhaled excitedly opening the doors to the roof. "It started snowing about two hours ago, so the city is a bit covered", not letting go of his hands you pulled him with you to the edge of the of the roof. "Look!" You repeated, gesturing at the city. It was already dark-ish so the lights were on, and the white puff of snow was already covering buildings, streets and trees. Steve had to agree with you. It looked magical. The moon that was shyly showing out of the clouds was adding a nice 'romantic' touch to the view.
"Wait, hold up just a second. What are doing?" He asked concerned, watching you pushing the snow away from the edge of the roof and sitting on it, with your legs hanging on the open air, all those meters away from the ground.
"Don't tell me the great Captain America is afraid of height", you chuckled and patted the place next to you, cleaning it as well with your gloved hands.
"It's not the heights I'm afraid of, but the lack of parachute if we fell", you looked down and laughed opening the bag of cookies and taking one. "Aren't you afraid?" He asked, finally joining you, taking two cookies from the bag.
"Of what? I've got my own super soldier next to me, who would save me, right?" You winked at him, chuckling when he gagged on the cookie.
You liked him. You never hid that. Not with the flirtatious jokes at the cafe, or the little not so short talks you had outside of it. The little touches here and there only added to the obvious message. You remember all those sarcastic comments from Stark about Cap's thick brain when it came to women. You never looked at it that way. You happily received the shy compliments from him or the hugs, that you enjoyed more than you had a possibility to say. Or the fact that he came to see you despite being in the cafe already 3 times that day. He was adorably obvious about his motives, but too shy to make a move. So you decided to step up. You weren’t sure how open you could be, but you enjoyed the little banter you had.
“My mom died during my birth,” You started, looking at the lightened town. “My dad picked up extra hours at work. He was working his ass off to make sure I would have whatever needed in my life. He is a good man and I love him to bits. But because he worked so hard I haven't seen him much. But we always took our coats, blankets, too many cookies, and even more hot chocolate and we just sat and enjoyed the first snow in the year.” You looked up and smiled brightly at him. “See, I told you.” He frowned not understanding. “You have a beautiful genuine smile.” You chuckled seeing him blush. “Tell me, Steve”, your eyes travelled down to his lips. “What would make you happy?” He swallowed hard and smiled softly.
“I would really like to kiss you now.”
“Then what stops you, Soldier?” He smiled and leaned forward, connecting his lips with yours. Maybe, just maybe, Steven Grant Rogers will start to work a bit less from now on.

Of cocoa and fire
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bucky x reader
Word count: 1.3k ish
Warnings: Some snark and swearing.
Summary: My entry for @arawynn’s Festive Winter Wonderland Writing Challenge! I am posting this from my sideblog, hope that doesn’t bother you too much (main is @rumpelstilskinxoxo) Thank you so much for hosting and for allowing me to participate!!! 💕💕💕
My prompt was “Want some cocoa?” and I also went with the mobster AU because I am a sucker for it and always wanted to give it a try.
-----
„Here you go, a hot chocolate with peppermint. Enjoy!“ You carefully hand over the steaming mug to the grinning little girl before watching her wander off with her parents further into the little Christmas market in front of the local hospital.
They truly outdid themselves this year: There was a booth with cotton candy and candy apples and chocolate covered fruits, a grill with hamburgers and sausages, a booth with all kinds of christmassy cookies, DIY tables with lots of tinsel, glitter and holly. A little carousel, Santa Claus as well as a snow fairy to take pictures with, so the children who don’t celebrate Christmas can also have a cute holiday memory framed. A little petting zoo from the local shelter to find some animals a new home. A very wholesome affair, all in all.
As a physician at the hospital, you volunteered your free evening to help out, currently manning the hot cocoa station with your friend and coworker Christine, who ran off finding some more peppermint sticks. Turning around, you noticed someone standing off to the side of the booth.
„Want some cocoa?“
The man just barely turns his head to you. There is a deep scowl on his otherwise handsome face, and he is wearing all black - expensive looking coat and suit, a scarf for fashion rather than warmth, a signet ring catching the light. „We have dark chocolate, milk and white, as well as a vegan option,“ you smile while listing the options, hoping to spread some holiday cheer. A deeper scowl, you notice two large figures looming behind him like shadows. „There is a lactose free one as well?!“
„Do I look like someone who drinks cocoa?“ he sneers, taking you aback, because this is a fun little Christmas market, there really is no need to be hostile. Patience is for patients so you have none for him and his attitude. „Well maybe it’d help with that frown on your face, you know, chocolate and it’s endorphins and all,“ you say rolling your eyes, turning back to the mugs behind you.
He scoffs. „I’d watch that tone, don’t you know who I am?“ You look over your shoulder, now it’s your turn to frown. „No, I don’t, and with that attitude of yours I don’t feel like I am missing out.“ He opens his mouth to answer but you’re not finished and fully turn back to him. „Honestly, what is your problem? And what a stupid question? Have you ever heard someone say „Don’t you know who I am“ and thought “well no but you sound just delightful, I’d like to find out“? Yeah, me neither.“ A snort from behind the man makes his scowl impossibly deeper. „So if the holiday cheer is bothering you so much, I have a simple suggestion: don’t be here.“
You make a movement with your hand indicating the market around you, then straighten shoulders and step to the other end of the booth, where a couple was looking over the menu. When you’re turn around again, the man and his shadows are gone. But Christine is back, and now she is sporting a scowl. What is up with everyone today?
„Erm, what were you talking about with James Barnes of all people, don’t you know who he is?“ She sounds almost irritated, making you scoff. „Why do people keep saying that? No, I don’t know who that is and he was pretty rude, so I couldn’t care less.“
„What did you say to him?“
„I told him to fuck off.“
Christine shrieked. „What, why would you do that?“
„What is your problem, he didn’t want hot chocolate in the first place so it’s not like it was bad for business!“
„That was James Barnes.“
„So you mentioned.“
„He is a fucking mobster and is rumored to basically run this whole city,“ she whisper-yelled.
You snort. „I’m sorry, did you just say mobster?“
Christine nods, which makes you full on laugh. „Where am I, in a CW show all of a sudden? Do we have to save the hospital in a dangerous game of violence and broken trust while family secrets pile up?“
You rolled your eyes. Christine just hushed you and looked around anxiously. „Will you be quiet, who knows who works for him around here!“ Her concerned tone made you look around, too, before shaking your head at her.
„You are seriously telling me that we have a mobster in our midst who came to this market to - what, check up on his assets?“
„Well maybe not his assets but his company sponsored the carousel and most of the food.“
„That doesn’t sound so mobster-y to me.“
„Well rumor has it Macavity Inc. is just a front for all kinds of shady stuff.“
„I’m sorry, what?“
„Officially he is the CEO of his company, Macavity Inc. …“.
„As in Cats?“
„What do you mean?“
„You know, the musical! Cats!“
„I don’t think I’ve ever seen it.“
You hold your hand to your heart in mock shock. „Chris! That is an educational gap that needs to be closed asap!“
Christine sighs.
„Anyway, there is a character named Macavity and he is literally the law-evasive bad guy.“ You laugh, starting to sing, „Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity - He's broken every human law, he breaks the law of gravity.“
A fit of giggles interrupts your performance. „Seems to me this mobster is very extra. And I highly doubt that no on in the NYPD has seen Cats so that must be very frustrating, him basically telling them that he is doing illegal shit. You know, via music.“ More laughter bubbles out of you. „I do respect his flair for the dramatic.“
Christine gives you a concerned look, whether it is for the mocking of the notorious mafia boss or the ongoing giggle fit is hard to tell.
..........
It was pretty late by now, most of the patrons had left already and you were cleaning up the booth and packing away the mugs when a sudden scream made you look up.
„OH MY GOD, FIRE!“
You saw one of the nurses frantically looking around, making you spring into action. Grabbing the water bucket from the washing up, you ran to her, yelling „Wanda, careful, the hay!“
There was a decorative bale of hay next to the table which had caught on fire and it was dangerously close to burning as well. Suddenly someone pushed past Wanda and grabbed the bale, pulling it forcefully and away from the flames. You emptied the water on the fire before Wanda threw a thick blanket over the table as well, extinguishing all the flames.
„Phew, how the hell did that happen?“, you asked, running a hand through your hair.
„God I don’t even know - one moment I was putting supplies in a box and the next there was this fire, I guess I must have bumped the table and a candle fell over, I -„ Wanda sighed, putting her face in her hands.
You wrapped her in a hug, „It’s okay, nothing happened, are you hurt?“ you rubbed her arms soothingly.
„No, no I’m fine.“ She took a deep breath. „And everything was going so well up until now!“
„Don’t worry, everything still went well, no one got hurt.“ You gave her a comforting smile. “And the market was such a success, happy faces and holiday cheer everywhere!”
You gave her arms a reassuring squeeze, then turned around to see who had grabbed the hay bale, possibly preventing the fire department from showing up. “That was some quick thinking...”, you stopped in your tracks as you saw who it was: the snappy man from earlier, now dusting hay of his coat.
The maybe-mobster looked up. „You reacted very fast as well“, he sounded almost impressed.
„My sister is a fire fighter, I picked up a thing or two from her stories.“ You were still a bit dumbfounded and not sure what to make of him not only still being here, but preventing Carol from showing up as said firefighter.
He straightened, looking at you so intensely you almost squirmed. He gave a curt nod to Wanda, then spun around and walked away, leaving you stare after him with a puzzled look on your face.
“Thanks, by the way”, you called after him. He raised his hand to acknowledge that he heard you, but otherwise kept walking and vanished between the booths.
“What the fuck just happened?”

Your settings are so vivid and Bucky's emotions are clear and relatable. I can picture him and see everything as if I were really there.
That ending! It's so good. Not just because it's fluffy and satisfying but because it's truly an end to the lovely story. It feel open and like it could continue, but it's also finished. Ending a story is a hard thing to do without leaving it feeling like a sentence only half written or a point half made but you did it magnificently!❤💙❤💙🖤
Let It Snow.
PAIRING: Reader x Bucky
WORD COUNT: 1.6k
WARNINGS: A little tiny bit of angst if you squint but mostly fluff, and Bucy hating the cold.
A/N: This is for @arawynn ‘s Festive Winter Wonderland Writing Challenge!  There are still lots of prompts and scenarios left if anyone is interested you should defiantly check it out! My prompt was “Everything is ready for an afternoon in front of the fireplace”  And a big thank you to @bucky-plums-barnes and @abovethesmokestacks for beta reading and pointing out things I missed! Would be lost without those girls! I hope you all enjoy and it puts you in the Christmas mood x

Arawynn’s Festive Winter Wonderland Writing Challenge
Since the Halloween season is over I thought about hosting a Christmas/Winter/End of Year themed Writing Challenge. So here it is!
Rules:
The fandoms this Writing Challenge is open to are Marvel, Harry Potter and Tolkien (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Silmarilion).
No character is off limits.
Your story can be a Reader Insert, contain OCs or stick to canon characters.
It can be a One Shot or part of a multi-part story. If you intend to write multiple parts, you don’t have to post all of them for the challenge, the first part is enough.
Romantic, platonic and familial relationships are fine.
Your story needs to be either Christmas, Winter or End of the Year/New Year themed. Other holidays like Hanukkah or Yule are also welcome!
There’s no limit regarding word count, I only ask you to use the “keep reading” feature if your story is longer than 500 words.
You must use appropriate warnings!
Not allowed: smut, incest, romantic relationships between adults and children/teenagers. This includes Peter Parker/Tony Stark, Shuri/Bucky Barnes, Hermione Granger/Severus Snape etc.
Deadline: 12th January 2020, I hope that’s enough time. If you need an extension or have to drop out entirely, please don’t hesitate to message me!
Reblogging this post as signal boost is of course highly appreciated!
Please tag me in your entry and use the tag #ArawynnsFestiveWinterWonderland within the first five tags!
When you post your entry, I’ll like it to let you know I’ve seen but not yet read it. As soon as I did read your entry, I’ll reblog it.
There are different categories: Prompts, AUs and Scenarios. The Prompts are a must have, the other two categories are optional. You can use only a Prompt, a Prompt and either an AU or a Scenario or all three – whatever inspires you.
Prompts are available once, AUs and Scenarios can be used multiple times.
In order to take part in the Challenge, you need to send me an ask with your Prompt, your character and the Scenario/AU you wish to use. IMs or replies to the post don’t count.
Addition: If you’re already writing something and it fits with something from my challenge (even if it’s for a second challenge) you can totally use that as entry!
