This Arataki Itto Fanart was supposed to be an art contest for the Genshin Impact event, which ended on April 4th, I think 🤔. Here it is completed.

Completely oblivious to how strange his "rescue" seems, Itto presents you to his gang as if he's brought home a stray animal, insisting he couldn't leave you out in the cold. While his friends exchange mixed looks, Itto remains cheerfully clueless, not yet realizing that maybe he likes you more than he thought.

The rain poured down in sheets, the sound of the droplets hitting the earth creating a rhythm that made the world feel distant, a blur of grey and blue. You had been caught off guard, as usual, by the sudden downpour. With no umbrella and no way of reaching shelter, you had begun to make your way toward the nearest tavern, hoping to wait out the storm in relative dryness.

As you trudged along, soaked to the bone, you muttered to yourself, cursing the rain. You had hoped it would be a quick shower, but it looked like it was going to be a while before you could escape.

Suddenly, you felt a strange, unexpected force wrap around your waist.

“Gotcha!” a voice boomed above you. Before you could even register what was happening, you were lifted off the ground with ease, your feet dangling in the air. The cold rain hit your face, but you were no longer on the ground, and you couldn’t help but let out a startled gasp.

Looking up, you found yourself staring into the bright, mischievous eyes of none other than Arataki Itto, the local troublemaker and self-proclaimed "Numero Uno" of the Arataki Gang. His grin was as wide as ever, showing off those sharp fangs of his.

“Wh—Itto?! What the hell are you doing?!” you stammered, your drenched clothes clinging to your skin.

“It’s raining, and you’re all wet! I couldn’t just leave you out here, right?!” Itto exclaimed, his voice booming in the otherwise quiet street. His grip around you was surprisingly gentle for someone as strong as him, but there was no mistaking the determination in his eyes.

With no room to argue, you found yourself being carried, like some sort of helpless puppy, into a nearby building. The door swung open with an enthusiastic kick from Itto’s foot, and you were gently (yet hastily) deposited onto a nearby chair, dripping water onto the wooden floor.

“Numero Uno to the rescue!” Itto said, puffing out his chest with pride, completely oblivious to the fact that he was standing in front of his friends, who had been watching the whole scene unfold. He didn’t even seem to realize how flustered and bewildered you were, still blinking in confusion from the sudden change in scenery.

Inside the Arataki Gang's hideout, a couple of familiar faces—Kuki Shinobu and Gorou—stared at you, their eyes wide and a little incredulous. Shinobu, as usual, was trying to hide her face behind her hand, clearly unimpressed, while Gorou had a confused, slightly awkward smile on his face, his ears twitching slightly.

Kuki was the first to speak up. “Itto... what in the world did you do?” she asked, clearly trying to suppress a sigh.

Itto, oblivious to the tension in the room, nodded proudly, putting his hands on his hips. “Well, you see, it was raining and cold out there, and I couldn’t just leave them outside, right? So, I did what any good Numero Uno would do—swooped them up and brought them inside!”

The moment those words left his mouth, the room fell into silence, the atmosphere thick with unspoken questions. You were still trying to process the sudden change of scenery, trying not to focus too much on the fact that Itto had just literally carried you inside like some kind of stray cat.

“Uh, I’m fine, really,” you said, your voice quieter than usual, still reeling from the shock. “You didn’t have to—”

But before you could finish, Itto grinned and waved you off, already rushing to get towels from a nearby chest. “Nonsense! Look at you—soaked through and looking like a drowned rat! It’s the least I could do!”

Gorou scratched the back of his head, exchanging a glance with Shinobu. “Isn’t that a bit... much, Itto?” Gorou asked, his voice filled with concern but laced with a hint of amusement.

Itto paused in his towel-fetching mission, blinking at his friend in confusion. “What? What do you mean ‘much’? They were all wet and freezing out there! I’m just doing the right thing, right?”

Shinobu, with her usual dry tone, added, “It’s just that you seem... awfully concerned for someone you just met. So concerned, in fact, that you decided to carry them here like they were your precious pet.”

The words hit harder than you expected, and you couldn’t help but blush, flustered. A pet?

Itto froze mid-motion, the towel hanging loosely in his hand. For a split second, his usual confident grin faltered. But then, with a shrug, he laughed it off, his voice more casual than ever. “Pfft, well, I mean... they didn’t have anywhere else to go! You’re welcome!”

Kuki raised an eyebrow, glancing at you, then back to Itto. “Are you sure you’re not just enjoying the fact that you get to be the hero? Don’t get any funny ideas, Itto.”

The big oni’s ears perked up as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, his eyes widening. “Whaaaat? Me? Funny ideas? Nah, nah, not at all! I’m just being a good guy! You know, the kind of guy who swoops in and saves the day! No need to overthink it!”

But despite his words, you noticed the small flicker of something deeper in his eyes—a hint of something you couldn’t quite put your finger on. Maybe it was the way he looked at you for a second longer than necessary, or the way he moved just a little bit closer when handing you the towel.

As you took the towel and started drying off, you realized that maybe—it wasn’t just about rescuing you from the rain.

Maybe Itto did care, just a little more than he was letting on.

And while he might not have figured it out yet, you had a feeling that you might just be his next big adventure.

Today there was supposed to be another ‘execution’. (Vision taking)

Instead, there was a small fox sleeping on the Raiden Shogun’s platform, blocking her path.

That fox, was you.

Honestly? People thought she’d kick poor you, but instead she gently pushed you with her foot. (‘Still technically a kick.’ Some people in the crowd thought)

But the small fox with a strikingly large tail didn’t budge. In fact, you swatted at her shoe, turning over and… lying. On her shoe.

She glanced at her guards - who shrugged- before nudging you again. This time, however, you made a noise of disagreement, and swatted at her leg.

With your claws.

Effectively ripping the fabric.

…Uh oh.

Her eyes narrowed, and forced you off with a little more force, forcing you to awake. Naturally, you were just a little pissy that you nap was rudely interrupted by some prissy bitch with ass shorts, so you did the only logical thing a god in fox form would do.

Summon ancient yōkai, no duh.

Large oni with red and blue skin emerged from the bushes, their bodies imbedded with the power of geo, causing rampant chaos. Kitsune appeared from the shadows, luring men and women alike away for… let’s just say mischief. Kappa stole children away into the water, forcing them to swim home, laughing at their misery.

What? You didn’t actually want to kill people! Killing causes death, man! That shit kills you!

Glancing back up at the Shogun, you shook your body and licked at your fur, looking for someone.

“HEY!!! LITTLE FOX!!! OVER HERE!!!!” There he was.

Sticking your tail up at the Shogun, you jumped off the platform, and moved onto the Main Street, weaving through the crowd running from oni, and finally making it to your friend.

Arataki Itto. Your numero uno.

Holding a palm out, you quickly scale his body, laying down around his shoulders, resting your head on his. Felling your tail getting scratched, you noted that Shinobu was also here. Neat.

“YEAH!! TAKE THAT RAIDEN SHOGUN!! YOU GOT TAKEN OUT BY A FOX HAHAHAHA!!!!”

Normally you would’ve taken offense… if you weren’t already asleep again.

And with that, the Itto gang ran off, leaving a now extremely pissed off Shogun. Though a chuckle sounded behind her.

“Well then, a new fox.~ Whatever shall we do?~”

“Not now, Yae.”

All that matters to you was that your little group was safe, and that you could sleep in peace.

Good grief, he really can't catch a break.

As if his housewarden duties and dealing with the boys of savanaclaw wasn't enough, he has your constant invites to bug fights and rowdy personality too.

He'll admit, he did dislike you at first because he simply did not have the energy to deal with someone as energetic as you to add on to other things on his plate.

It took him a really long time to warm up to you and actually go with your shenanigans. It took a lot of you being stubborn and trying every day to get him to join you.

(Now that I think about it, Itto!reader and Leona are like Itto and Kujou Sara)

Even then he won’t always go with you, it really depends on his mood.

Honestly he finds it interesting and a little funny how you aren’t giving up so easily on something as simple as getting him to join your bug fights.

Might invite you to the Spelldrive team since he sees some potential in you being very energetic and always running around everywhere without breaking a sweat.

Ruggie Bucchi !!

He gets flashbacks to when Jack was calling him “sir” and not leaving him alone whenever he sees you.

Not really in a bad way, but not in a good way either.

He isn’t like Leona where he’ll immediately brush you off and tell you to leave him alone, he might even join a couple of your bug fights if he has time!!

Honestly he likes your funky little hobby and makes him feel relaxed and have fun, your energy’s a double-edged sword for him but he doesn’t mind it half the time.

Actually asks you to help him run Leona’s errands since you seem to be very physically strong. That’s how you two became close in the first place.

You two cause mischief around the school but never anything Book 2 level, just some simple pranks around the other students (except the third years, occasionally on Leona though).

Jack Howl !!

One more troublemaker added to his friend list. Seriously, why does it feel like someone as calm and chill as him always attract mischief-causing hooligans.

Like Ruggie, he joins your little bug fights if he’s done with schoolwork + exercise. Maybe someone from the first year gang even tags along.

He invites you sometimes to exercise with him since you’re strong and have tons of energy!! He likes it when he finds people that can keep up with him in exercising and sports.

Gets really competitive sometimes, nothing that would actually cause conflict, but prepare for a rematch or two.

You two can get a little carried away though and before you realized it it’s almost curfew while both of you are still in the sports field.

Both of you are the epitome of opposites attract, with how peaceful Jack is majority of the time and your chaotic tendencies.
