Her skin is a very warm, medium bronze and she tans very easily

She has a number of beauty marks scattered across her body, but there are four on her face: on the top right side of her forehead, the outside corner of her left eye, on her right cheek (aligned with her right nostril and the corner of her mouth), and on the bottom left side of her chin

Her hair is very dark brown with lighter sections woven throughout, and it isn’t curly but it does have a definite wave to it—if she were to actually take care of it with products and the whole deal, she would probably have nice 2b/2c type waves

Almost always in a loose braid, it trails down her back and settles around her tailbone

Thick, dark eyebrows that are strong and boxy, taper off slightly at the ends

Full lips, bottom just slightly fuller, her mouth naturally sits in a soft smile

She has very strong hands but long, slender fingers, perfect for playing the piano or guitar (and for lacing between her partner’s fingers)

Think of the body of a female rugby player or weightlifter (as shown below) and you’ve basically got Alec! Though she would have a softer stomach than most of these women since she’s not training for any competition (and is not shy about eating all of Selasi’s famous pumpkin bread)

A punch/kick from her would knock just about any would-be assailant over in a heartbeat, though it doesn’t happen often

This is the best face claim I’ve found for her so far—not perfect, but close!

Languages spoken — Vesuvian (common tongue) and Prakran fluently (though she doesn’t practice it as much as she should). She knows how to get by in a great number of other lanuages (like Venterrean) due to spending about a decade of her life traveling, but mostly just conversational.

Hobbies — 

Playing instruments—the shop has an upright piano, but there’s also a few miscellaneous instruments (like a spare guitar, fiddle, and zither) lying around leftover from the band

Song-writing—she transcribed all of the songs the band performed, but she’s also written a great handful of her own (that are either stuffed into her one music book or scattered around the shop)

Embroidery���making clothes in general is a passion of hers, but she likes the delicacy of embroidery over sewing, knitting, or crocheting

Acting—she was one of the main stars of Vesuvia’s community theater pre-plague

Magical abilities — Elemental magic (Air and Water) and Music Hypnosis

While her family wasn’t particularly magical, early on in life Alec gravitated towards air and water as her primary magical focuses

It wasn’t until she had to learn how to survive on the streets by herself that she really dug into her own magic

She would use magic to fly (more so float) herself down alleyways and under the quick hands of Prakran guards when she’d snitch food or clothes for herself

She would use magic to find wells of water on the outskirts of the city, and even when traveling on the road

But once she started traveling with the band she learned that her real strength was in her singing voice

When she sings, she is able to influence the mood of anyone around her

The song doesn’t matter, or the lyrics, but the intention behind it does

She could be singing Happy Birthday, but if her intent is to make you angry, you will feel angry

However, one drawback of this magic is that she takes on the burden of others emotions, especially if they were extremely negative emotions

She can calm a frightened child, or make a sad person feel happy, but she will in turn receive their anxiety or sadness

This also works the other way around, if she were to make a happy person angry, she would essentially steal their joy for herself—which would make her a frightening adversary

If someone was ever able to take control of her and use her magic for evil—let’s just say it wouldn’t end well for the people of Vesuvia

Amplifying current emotions don’t have any affect on her, which was what she spent the most time doing as a singer

Making happy people happier? Easy! 

She had to work on her range, but essentially anyone able to hear her voice can be influenced by her magic, whether she’s standing right in front of them, or half a mile upwind

Love Interests — Alec is paired with all of the Main 6! Her dynamic is very different for each of them. (She also has some relationships with other OCs in separate timelines, and is always open for new ships with other OCs 👀)

Background —

Born on the outskirts of Prakra, Alec lived with her parents until she was about 8 years old, when they both died in a fire that destroyed their home and small farm.

She lived on the streets of the inner cities of Prakra until she was about 11, at which point Jamil, Camia, and Leon found her. She stole Jamil’s guitar because she felt drawn to the music, and once they all tracked her down, Leon convinced Jamil to take her with them, as he could feel the dormant magic lying within her.

The next decade was spent traveling all over the world with the three musicians, picking up and dropping off other band members over the years. They frequently visited Vesuvia, as Camia owned the shop that the band used as their home base, and they were always invited for numerous festivals to perform.

She met Asra when she was 13, and he was around 12-13. They became fast friends, and bonded over their own magical abilities. 

She met Julian when she was 20, and he was around 26. She started acting at the community theater whenever she could, and the community she formed there was a huge reason she decided to stay in Vesuvia.

When she was 22 she made the decision to stay in Vesuvia permanently, and Camia gifted the shop to her for her and Asra to stay in. They both lived there, with the band frequently visiting, until Alec died at 25. 

Resurrection —

Alec was brought back with minimal knowledge of the world around her. She could breathe, eat, sleep, read and walk, but not much else. She didn’t remember Asra, Julian, Jamil, Camia, or Leon. She didn’t remember how to sing, or play any instruments. Asra feared she’d never get those back, as he couldn’t teach her.

The musicians wanted to stay, but Alec only seemed to get worse the longer they were there, plagued by headaches and nightmares, so they left, promising not to return until she was ready.

She had awful nightmares almost every night for the first year—the fire leading to her parents’ death coupled with the fire that killed her made her almost deathly afraid of any open flame for a long time. She still has the nightmares, more vivid now, but far less frequent.

Eventually she regained her voice with the help of her extensive collection of sheet music and instruments. She didn’t have to relearn language entirely, just how to make herself speak, as there was a block for a long few months.

It took her a long time to be comfortable leaving the shop, and longer to be comfortable leaving by herself. Too many people still remember her before the plague, and her presence was boggling to some and infuriating to others. Why did she live and others did not? Why did she act as if she didn’t remember who they were?

She struggled with the “past Alec versus Alec now” for years, and still struggles with it, even once her memories return. Is she even the same person anymore? What if “past Alec” was the better version of her?

Bios for the Leverage team

Nathan Ford - the Mastermind

Born and raised in Boston. His father was a bookie and fixer for several mob families.

He is Catholic. When he was younger he wanted to become a priest. He went to seminary school but left before he finished.

Formerly an insurance investigator for IYS insurance. He recovered stolen items, and was one of the company's top guys, saving the company millions of dollars. Was well known in the criminal world.

His son Sam became sick (it’s never said what he had, only that it was “stage four” when discovered). IYS refused to pay for his medical treatment claiming it was “experimental”. Sam died when he was eight, in the hospital, his parents with him. (Nate still has trouble being in hospitals since)

After his sons death Nates life fell apart. He lost his job, he became and alcoholic, and his wife Maggie divorced him.

A few years later he is recruited to lead a team of thieves. After being double crossed, the team decided to con the guy who hired him. Nate recruited Sophie to join the team.

Nate and Sophie knew each other from his insurance days. He chased her across several countries. While they never had an affair while he was married, they both clearly had feelings for each other.

Nate plans the cons and leads the team. He convinced the group of thieves to steal from the corrupt rich and give it back to the people it was originally taken from.

Nate continues to suffer from alcoholism throughout the series.

For a while he continued to say that he was not a thief, he just worked with them. He refused to see himself as a criminal. It wasn’t until after a few years of working with the team, when he allowed himself to get arrested to they could get away, that he admited to himself that he was in fact a thief.

Sophie Devereaux - the Grifter

Not much is known about Sophie's past, other than she has several secrets in London which is where she began her criminal career. She has gone by several aliases.

Sophie is not her real name. Her real name is never revealed in the show and is one of the shows biggest secrets, as she kept it secret even from Nate.

She is an aspiring actress, but she is horrible at acting - when it’s acting on a stage or for film. When she is grifting she is able to convincingly play a variety of characters of seemingly any background/ career / or nationality. As Nate puts it: ��Sohpie Devereaux is the best actress you’ve ever seen...when she’s breaking the law.”

She and Nate met ten years before the events of the show. They have a seemingly romantic relationship, both aware of each others feelings. However they don’t act on them for various reasons - first because Nate was married, and then later because Natein an unhealthy mindset. They have a ‘will they, won’t they’ things throught the series.

She is considered one of the best grifters in the world. At one point before the series, she stole the Second David from the Vatican.

Known languages are: english, spanish, mandarian, french, german, japanese, russian, hebrew, serbian, italian, as well as multiple other dialects.

Alec Hardison - the Hacker

Raised in the foster system. He and his foster siblings call their foster mom “Nana”. Has a foster sister named Breanna, who he taught hacking to.

He was raised a Jehovahs Witness and was made to go door to door to speak to people when he was young. Currently considers himself “religious but non denominational”

A prodigy and genius. He was able to crack into the Pentagon servers when he was only 12.

He played the violin until he was 14.

Used his hacking skills to attend the Oscars every year since he was 15.

He is wanted in Iceland - he spent his prom night hacking into the Bank of Iceland who he made pay his Nanas medical bills.

Once hacked into the White Houses emails because he was bored.

Other than hacking his skills include: inventing and engineering, some pickpocketing skills, improvisation, bomb making, forging, created CIA level cover stories and aliases.

Eliot Spencer - the Hitter

United States Black Ops soldier turned retrieval specialist.

His father ran a “hole in the wall” hardware store and wanted him to take it over. Eliot had other ideas and joined the service at 18.

In high school he dated a girl named Aimee, who he later said was the closest he ever got to settling down. He gave her a promise ring. It seemed like the thought she would wait for him when he left for the army, but she couldn’t

Not much is known about his time in the military or his retrieval work after.

Highly skilled in multiple areas. Some of the fighting styles he is shown to use are: boxing, muay thai, jujitsu, krav maga, kickboxing, eskrima, panantukan, kenpo karate, and aikido. He’s a fixer, and can play the “inside man”. He is a weapons expert. A skilled swordsman, and marksman - however he does like guns. He’s familiar with hostage negotiations.

Doesn’t like guns. Won’t use them if he doesn’t have to. Fights hand to hand, or with knives.

He’s a gourmet chef, as well as a singer and guitar player. He’s a flirt. Can ride a horse. He’s very protective of kids. And doesn’t like hitting cops.

The creator of the show originally intended for him to be cousins with Shawn Spencer from Psych. However this idea had to be scraped. But I say it’s true.

Parker - the Thief

She was put into the foster system when she was very young. Bounced around from foster home to foster home, most of which were abusive in some way. In one foster home, her foster father took her stuffed rabbit and told her she had to become a better thief to get it back. She stole it back and blew up the house.

At some point when she was very young, she taught her younger brother. Nick, to ride a bike. Later, while riding the bike, he was hit and killed by a car. She blamed herself and never told anyone.

Before she was 12, she was a getaway driver. Sometime after, she met a boy in foster care named Kelly, he taught her how to boost cars.They worked together as a team until they boosted a bait car. He escaped the police, leaving Parker to serve 6 months in juvie.

In 1998, Archie Leach, a master thief, caught her attempting to steal his wallet. He saw her potential and decided to train her as his apprentice, becoming a mentor and surrogate father as he trained her to be the greatest thief in the world. He never brought her home to his family though, telling Nate that she would have never fit in with a real family.

A few notable achievements are: she performed a heist of the French National Bank. Stole "the Caravaggio", in Paris, in 2003. At one point during the show, she stole the Hope Diamond only to put it back, because she was bored.

She was wanted in nine countries, including Brazil and Yemen

Parker is a gifted thief, deft at security circumvention and picking both locks and pockets. She has incredible gymnastics skills, flipping and weaving her way through laser grids with ease. She's also a formidable opponent in hand-to-hand combat due to her excellent upper body strength and acrobatics. She displays a very high level of spatial intelligence.

She has poor social skills, and different emotional responses. She can appear to lack visible empathy or other people, and has a hard time recognizing emotions.

While it is never said in the show, the creators have confirmed that Parker is autistic.

Umjesto na zajedničkoj bini Donald Trump i Joe Biden nastupili su na konkurirajućim mitinzima. Rezultat je nešto rasvijetlio – međutim ne tako kako se nadao trenutni predsjednik.

Druga debata ustvari nije ni bila. Umjesto da, kao kod prvog TV duela stoje direktno jedan prema drugome, sjedili su predsjednik SAD-a Donald Trump i njegov demokratski izazivač Joe Biden ovoga puta udaljeni skoro 2000 kilometara jedan od drugoga. Jedan je bio na jednoj Open – air bini u Majamiju a drugi u jednom muzeju u Filadelfiji.

Dva kandidata, dva prenosa u isto vrijeme, jedan glasan i konfrontativan, drugi miran i uljudan: Bizarno podijeljeni ekran otežavao je gledaocima da prate usmenu debatu nadaleko – međutim ona je simbolizirala istovremeno dvije Amerike, koje kod ovih odlučujućih sudbonosnih izbora stoje nepomirljivo jedna prema drugoj.

Mnogo toga se pritom u četvrtak uveče nije promijenilo. Uprkos tomu dvostruki šou je bio značajan. Najvažnije tačke:

1. Zašto dva prenosa?

Simultani prenosi imali su ozbiljnu pozadinu. Nakon Trumpove Covid – 19 dijagnoze organizatori su se odlučili da njegovu drugu TV debatu sa Bidenom održe vitrualno. To je Trump odbio, nakon čega je debata bila otkazana. Kada je Biden kao zamjenu organizovao solo nastup na TV stanici ABC Trump je promptno dogovorio sa NBC, starim kućnim odašiljačem njegovog reality šoua “The Apprentice”, svoj vlastiti krug pitanja – u isto vrijeme. „Jedan sat besplatne TV reklame“, hvalio se on i vrijeđao je tada NBC preko Twittera kao “fake news”.

Odluka NBC-a, da realizuje svoj jednosatan prenos paraleno sa Bidenovim 90 – minutnim townhallom izazvalo je ljutnju u vlastitim redovima. Desetine NBC zvijezda protestovali su otvoreno protiv toga, među njima Alec Baldwin (“Saturday Night Live”) i Mariska Hargitay (“Law & Order: SVU”). Međutim, na kraju se ispostavio format kao znatno informativniji nego borba galamom od posljednjeg puta.

2. Kako se borio Trump?

Najviše pitanja Trump je izbjegavao, koristio je banalne fraze i očigledne laži – i dopuštao je da ga moderatorka Savannah Guthrie, koja ga je hladnokrvno i pronicljivo ispitivala, stalno izvodi iz takta.

On je odbijao da kaže da li je prije posljednje debate bio negativno testiran na Covid – 19 („Ne sjećam se“). Ponovo je činio odgovornim porodice palih vojnika za svoju infekciju („Oni su me dodirivali“), lagao je o situaciju sa Coronom u SAD-u („U Nju Yorku vlada haos“) i lažno tvrdio: „Mi imamo lijekove.“

On je izbjegao da osudi pristalice opasnog kulta zavjere QAnon („Ja ne znam ništa o njima… oni su protiv pedofilije“) i rađe je napao Antifa protestante („Oni pale naše gradove“). On je vrijeđao medije – koji su mu nudili binu – kao „korumpirane“. Nazvao je otkrića “New York Times”, prema kojima je zadužen za više od 400 miliona dolara, „ilegalnim“ – ali to je onda potvrdio time što je opravdao da je to „veoma mala suma“. Djelovao je iritirano, često je iznerviran krivio usta i govorio je suviše brzo. Tek na kraju pomučio se za nešto više šarma.

3. Kako se borio Biden?

Joe Biden je bio dobro pripremljen. Prezentirao je svoj plan za borbu protiv Corona pandemije koji on želi provesti da  zemlja ne bi otišla u novi lockdown. Kritikovao je Trumpa jer je potcjenjivao rizik Covida-19: „On je rekao da nije nikome ništa rekao jer je imao strah da bi Amerikanci bili u panici. Amerikanci nisu u panici. On je postao paničan.“

Pitanje koje potresa američku javnost: Da li bi Biden povećao broj sudija na Vrhovnom sudu ako republikanci prije izbora potvrde Trumpovu konzervativnu kandidatkinju Amy Coney Barrett? Ponovo nije odgovorio ali je obećao još prije izbora dati jasan odgovor. „Zavisi od toga kako će se proces odvijati“, objasnio je Biden.

Bidenov razgovor je bio više državnički nego Trumpov, njegovi odgovori su bili dijelom dugi, ponekad se gubio u detaljima. Ipak on je govorio puno o pristojnosti, o građenju mostova i o tome kako bi htio u budućnosti surađivati sa republikancima. „Postoje putevi da se susretnemo.“

4. Šta su bili vrhunci?

NBC moderatorka Guthrie davala je Trumpu snažan otpor. Drugačije nego Chris Wallace iz Fox News, kome je poslhednja debata otklizala, ona je Trumpa konfrontirala sa njegovim lažima, korigovala ga je uživo i nije dozvolila da je prekida. Kad je on za vrijeme diskusije o Coroni ustvrdio, „85 posto ljudi, koji nose masku, dobiju je“ ona se suprotstavila: „To nije tačno.“ Kad se on pravio da ne zna ništa o QAnon ona ga je prekinula: “Vi to ipak znate!“ Kada je on ponovio svoju staru laž o prijetećem masivnom izbornom podvodu ona mu je odgovorila: „Za to nemate nikakve dokaze.“

Ona ga je suočila i sa njegovim tweetovima i retweetovima sa dezinformacijama, teorijama zavjere i propagandom: „Vi ipak niste nekakav ludi ujak!“ Na to je Trumpova nećakinja Mary Trump reagovala sa vlastitim tweetom: „Iskreno rečeno…“

Kod Bidena je opet u prvom planu bio ljudski aspekt. Tako je bio upitan šta bi značilo ako bi izgubio izbore. Njegov odgovor je bio neuobičajeno skroman: „To bi moglo značiti da sam bio loš kandidat i da nisam napravio dobar posao“, rekao je. „Međutim ja se nadam da to ne govori da smo mi etnički i religiozno tako nejedinstveni kako bi želio predsjednik.“

Usto je dodao: „Ja vjerujem da ljudi trebaju nadu. Nikada nisam bio veći optimista što se tiče izgleda ove zemlje. Ja stvarno tako mislim. Ja vjerujem da su ljudi došli do toga da razumiju šta stoji na kocki. Ne radi se o demokratima i republikancima. Ja nastupam kao ponosni demokrata ali ako bih bio izabran ja bih se isto starao i za one koji me nisu birali. Mi moramo ozdraviti naciju.“

5. Ko je pobijedio?

Trump se nadao da će Bidena nadmašiti makar sa boljom kvotom gledanja međutim on sa takvim prkosnim nastupom nije sebi učinio uslugu. Djelovao je tvrdoglavo, preopterećeno, malo iscrpljen i nije imao da ponudi ništa novo. Time bi jedva mogao privući na svoju stranu neodlučne birače. Nepuna tri tjedna prije izbora, pri čemu ankete posebno u Swing States idu sve više protiv njega, ovo je bila dalja propuštena šansa.

Format townhall odgovara Bidenu. On je objašnjavao mirno i iscrpno i nije bio – u velikoj suprotnosti sa prvim duelom – stalno prekidan. Njegova susretljivost se sasvim na kraju pokazala posebno jasno: Pošto svi zainteresovani nisu stigli da postave pitanja on je ostao na mjestu da odgovori na njihova pitanja. Teško je zamisliti da bi Trumpu nešto slično palo na pamet.

Meet The Band | Alec, Jamil, Camia, and Leon

For @arcana-echoes​’s Meet the OC special this week I wanted to do a short re-introduction of the band!

Starting from the left, going clockwise, we have Camia (she/her), Jamil (he/him), Leon (he/him/they/them), and Alec (she/her).

Alec is the apprentice in my canon, but before the events of the game, she traveled with the other three as part of a band. She was born on the outskirts of Prakra to her parents, but they died in a house fire when she was around 8 years old. She lived on the streets of Prakra until the other three found her (at 11) and invited her to travel with them. They played at every Masquerade Lucio held prior to the plague, and went all over the world to perform for about 11 years. She is 29 in the current timeline, and her full bio can be viewed here!

Jamil is the leader of the band. He was born in Prakra to one of the most prominent families in the fashion industry there, working hand-in-hand with the Satrinavas and many other wealthy families. He is a much younger cousin to Namar Satrinava (Nadia’s father). After living his life according to his parents, he decided to run away from the family business and live on the road at 18. Camia went with him, and eventually they found Leon, and then Alec a few years later.  He is 41 in the current timeline, and his full bio can be viewed here!

Camia is Jamil’s best friend of almost 30 years. She was born in Vesuvia to a wealthy family, but spent most of her childhood fighting in the Coliseum as her parents exploited her for her magic. After running away at 13, she met Jamil in Prakra, and the two became close friends, eventually leaving Prakra together. She is also 41 in the current timeline and unfortunately, the only band member whose bio isn’t complete yet, but it should be soon!

Leon is Jamil and Camia’s best friend of about 22 years. Born in Zadith, they were abandoned by their parents when they were around 4 years old due to being born blind, and they lived on the streets of a small town in the Fennekh Desert until they were 17, when Jamil and Camia arrived. They are 39 in the current timeline and their full bio can be viewed here!
