Task Force 141 Age Guesstimates (WITH sources)

TL;DR

Price is the oldest at around 38

Ghost is a close second at around 36

Soap and Gaz are roughly 25-27

Ignore the fact that the bio's in-game are absolute trash. For some reason, I cannot access anything past the random cut-offs.

Oh, the info after the in-game screenshot but before the verdict is legit random other info that I found. More specifically actor's age and previous game info if it isn't clear with the current info we have. That you can choose to make your own decisions if you want to ignore my verdicts!

Price: Easy start. His page says 1985.

But his current in-game bio says the exact same info as this Activision link that's from 2019. So I'm assuming they just haven't updated it from 2019, since it would cut 3 years off his age.

Barry Sloane is 41 (1981) No previous canonical birthyear and I didn't go actively searching for much more information

Verdict: Pretty solid 1985 for the dilf.

Gaz: We already have conflicting information; on his page, it says he was born in 1990, yet the timeline says he was born in 1996, neither of which has a proper source. So he would be turning anywhere from 27-33 this year. He joined in 2008 (according to his page and in-game bio shown), needing to be at least 16, so technically the youngest possible is 1992.

But, the same source from Activision that I used for Price says he joined in 2014, if he enlisted at 16, would make him a 1998 baby. Which directly opposes his current bio, which, as said previously, states that he joined in 2008.

I am settling on Activision's ORIGINAL bio being canon, as his in-game bio says he joined in 2008 and at the end of the paragraph says "rounding out a decade in service" which would only bring him to 2018, which would be 4 years prior to the Release of MW2 2022. Whereas 2014 would be near his decade in service next year. It makes more sense to round 1 year under vs 4 years+ over.

Elliot Knight is 32 (1990; probably the cause of his birthyear is listed as 1990) No previous canonical birthyear and I didn't go actively searching for much more information.

Considering Price is only turning 38, I personally prefer scrapping the 1990-1992 date for optimal father-son dynamic.

Verdict: 1996-1998, he'll be turning 25-27 this year.

Soap: This boy's gonna be a doozie.

According to his official page, he was born in 1996 or earlier. It also said that he tried joining the SAS at 16, but was caught that he was too young; which directly contradicts his current in-game bio, which says that he lied about his age and got in.

Considering the information on his page doesn't have any source linking back to it, we will consider he joined the SAS at 16 (which is wild and would have to make him forge a birth certificate) So if we take 2014 (keep in mind I have no clue where they whipped that year out of) minus 16, makes his birth year potentially 1998.

Neil Ellice is clearly ageless as his age isn't listed anywhere online. Previous canonical information hints that he is younger than Gaz, as Gaz had already completed Selection when he joined. According to the old MW timeline, he was born in 1980 (no sources listed) making him 31-36 during the original MW.

Considering the position and name change (all new information is Johnny, not John) I'm just going to discard that information though.

Also, he canonically punched a cop. not important, but I feel like people should know.

Verdict: Legit the only information (even if it's contradicted) we get is <1996 or 1998, so I've gotta go with that. Turning 25-27+ this year. Roughly the same age as Gaz.

Ghost: I struggled with Soap, now onto the one with ~redacted~ information

His current in-game bio cuts off before any actual dates or anything is said. Literally "Ghost lives with a redacted past and an..."

The wiki bio is equally as uneventful, giving us no information about him joining the military or his childhood. At least it wasn't full of information from before the reboot.

Al Mazrah is his first mention in the Reboot timeline, he's not even listed in the section pertaining to Ghobrani's assassination.

So I'm going to be pulling information out of the army straight up. FBI agent watching this, I fucking hate the military IRL <3 If I get one email or text asking to join I'm gonna waste your time asking 2000 questions.

The average age of the UK military is 30 a paid account is required to see the graph, but the information is listed just under it, meaning an officer would probably be above the average.

According to the UK Army, after joining it takes about 20 years to reach Lieutenant. If he joined at 16, he would be ~36y/o, add 2-3 years to go from Lieutenant to Captain, and you've got Price's age.

(~12 years of Service for Sergeants, which makes Soap & Gaz's mid-20s work, especially with them being really fucking good. ~23 years to become a Captain, which again roughly fits with Price being a young Officer)

Samuel Roukin is 42 (1980) this man looks too good for his age omg. The only canonical age-related thing is that he joined the military after 9/11. If we assume he was 16 at joining, it would make him born in 1985. Which fits with the mid-30s right now, but would place him mid-20s in the original timeline.

Verdict: ~1987, making him mid-30s. Younger if you want to make him match the quick rank-ups of the rest of the 141.

Alright more patented Goblin AU ramblings~~~

My mind is HYPERFIXATED on quirkless vigilante Izuku somehow adopting Eri, and balancing that sweet vigilante life (instant ramen, a coffee addiction, and stealing from criminals to pay rent) while trying to raise Eri semi-normally.

Like he's a disaster on his own but add onto the fact that now he's trying to care for Eri?

Dadzawa notices that he's become more tired on patrols (which is saying A LOT) and is now even more on the *must adopt* train.

(yes Izuku has a gun in this one too, I'm a sucker im sorrryy)

Izuku works very hard to try and keep his vigilante persona away from Eri, which often means hiding stab/bullet wounds. Also he spoils her constantly, but they don't get a lot of money anyways, which mostly means him either DIYing stuff or skipping meals to get her another candy apple.

(don't ask where Inko is idk man, she's just gone, you can decide)

Just: Disaster Izuku trying to raise Eri while dealing with his own baggage WHILE Dadtective Tsukauchi and Dadzawa try to bring him in so they can finally adopt him

ALSO ALSO: The pro heroes who are sent to try and catch him all independantly decide to try and adopt him, which leads to a custody battle when they do finally catch Izuku (and Eri making it v clear that she loves her brother/papa and is just as fiercely protective and attached as Izuku is to her even after only a few months/a year makes me feel things)

NO BUT IMAGINE HOW AIZAWA FINDS OUT THAT HIS VIGILANTE SON IS NOT TAKING CARE OF HIMSELF:

midoriya’s running away from busting another villain organization, lethargic and slow. he’s sporting two broken ribs and one nasty gash to the thigh. but aizawa’s on his tail and police cars are blaring their sirens from below, obviously following aizawa in his pursuit.

“problem child goddamn it just stand down!” aizawa yells, but does not erase their vigilante’s quirk (no one knows midoriya’s quirkless and right now, aizawa can clearly see that midoriya’s hurt so he doesn’t want to risk midoriya’s safety by erasing his quirk.)

midoriya doesn’t respond and it sends more warning blares to aizawa because their vigilante is never quiet.

“kid?” aizawa asks, ramping up his speed to catch up on midoriya but midoriya’s good at parkour and keeps running away, far from aizawa’s reach. aizawa curses, swings his weight using his capture weapon to give himself leverage but-

“OW!” midoriya yelps, hitting himself from a stray metal beam and aizawa watched in horror as their vigilante kid falls.

“KID!” aizawa’s voice was rough, unused to screaming, as he bolts towards edge of the building’s rooftop, peering down to check at midoriya. he hisses in anger because, as usual, midoriya’s gone.

he reports this incident to tsukauchi and they both try to trace midoriya’s steps, but like an actual ghost, there is never a trace. with aizawa’s agreement, they both add more heroes in their case, never failing to impart that the priority is not to capture but to ensure midoriya’s safety.

of course the heroes love midoriya when they realize that this vigilante boy is adorable, kind, respectful, and cheeky in all the good ways.

things finally change when one night, midoriya crashes to the police station, vigilante outfit intact but bloody. tsukauchi and aizawa are there to meet him, both worried because midoriya will never do this. he was as slimy as all vigilantes were, and always backed his wayward heroism with efficient street fight and honed martial arts, plus the incredible heights of his wisdom. so this? midoriya walking willingly to a police station? this means trouble.

“eri’s taken,” midoriya says, voice quiet and tired but so so scared. they don’t even know who eri was or what were her connections with midoriya, but both aizawa and tsukauchi are moving up to assist midoriya in his plans.

turns out eri’s their kid’s sister/daughter...what?

but she was captured by low ranking LoV members (not official LoV, but more like their underlings.) it took great effort from both aizawa and tsukauchi to stop their kid from setting the villains on fire.

so with eri saved and the LoV underlings captured, they all had to acknowledge that midoriya must be taken to custody.

“look kid-” tsukauchi begins, but midoriya cuts him off.

“after what happened today, i think i rather be taken away than have eri be taken by villains again. look, just promise me that eri would have a good education and good family, ok? and a good house. the one with vast gardens because her quirk is a blessing and she loves to make flowers bloom and i swear to god if you guys do any less for eri, i will personally escape any hole you put me into and cut off your-”

“KID! damn you talk so much, you know that?” aizawa asks, huffing loudly but the way his lips crinkle in a suppressed smile shows that he’s not mad but amused, “we’re not taking you away.”

a heartbeat. “what?” midoriya croaks out, hands embracing eri a little tighter. eri, bless her, is quiet as she watches her extra two dads(?) talk to her brother.

tsukauchi sighs but smiles kindly. “kid– midoriya-kun, we’re not locking you up. there are many laws that could send you to juvenile detention centres, but the fact that you’re quirkless kind of protects you from that. what we’re offering though, for both you and your sister, is protection,” he explains.

“and family,” aizawa grunts from beside him.

tsukauchi nods at that. “and family.”

“...excuse me but what?”

aizawa chuckles lowly, shaking his head at midoriya. “midoriya, i’m offering you to be my kids.”

“WHAT?”

“well i mean i had to beat fukukado, but yeah.”

“FUKU- MS. JOKE? WHAT?”

all the while, eri giggles at her brother’s expense.

(I usually have a few collections/anthologies I’m working through. Highly recommend the latter two, especially Jagannath. It’s a wonderful little box of weird and exquisite chocolates. Reserving my opinion on the first until I’m done.)

Venti’s a Superhero (GN)

1) You’re in law enforcement

The two of you have a pretty typical hero-officer relationship. He catches the supervillains, you cart them off to prison. It’s not a big deal and you don’t think much of it.

Or, rather, you wouldn’t if your co-workers would just leave things be. However, they keep pushing you to be the one to interact with him. Something about him liking to work with you specifically, which is ridiculous.

Sure he does flirt with you and drops the cheesiest pick up lines ever. And sure, he does smile a lot when you’re around. But it’s not like he’s serious about it, right? He jokes around by flirting with villains after all, so how do you know this isn’t a joke too?

It’s honestly kind of hard on you because you’ve found yourself falling for him. Who wouldn’t, honestly? He’s strong, charming, and just a really nice guy. It has nothing to do with the way he laughs at your stupid jokes or protected you fiercly the couple of times you were specifically targeted in an attack.

But when he shows up in front of the police station with a ukelele and sings you a cheesy love song he apparently wrote himself, you have to face the truth. He does, in fact, actually like you. The flirting was playful, not pretended. The cute superhero guy actually likes you back.

It’s kind of overwhelming honestly. So when he asks you on a date right after you’re kind of speechless. His face falls when you apparently take too long to respond and you have to chase after him as he walks away, dejected, to reassure him that yes, you’d love to go on a date with him.

“Why did you decide to wear your superhero costume on our date again?” You ask him, hyper aware of all the stares that the two of you are getting. The press are at the cafe doors, only kept out by threat of legal action from the owner of the establishment. Thank goodness they’re apparently a big fan of Venti and the work he does. Also, Venti is apparently a regular here. Who knew?

He takes a sip of his dandelion tea and glances out at the press nervously. “Well, I guess I’m just worried about doing an identity reveal for our first date. I was thinking maybe third or something.” You blink and a smile spreads across your face. “Oh? So you want there to be a third date before our first date is even over?” You tease him. His face flushes red. “Yeah,” he admits. “I can’t picture myself with anyone else. I’ve fallen for you and I can’t get up.”

2) You’re a journalist

You have always loved superheroes. They’re just so cool! Someone with a secret identity working a double life to serve and save the people around them? How awesome is that! And so when you move to Mondstadt and found out that they have their very own superhero, Barbatos, you are absolutely thrilled!

And, even better, your boss knows about your love of superheroes and assigns you to be the journalist representing the company on superhero related matters- including Barbatos!

So you take to your new task with gusto! This is exactly why you became a journalist! You will get all the best scoops and make your company proud. And if this involves showing up at all his fights and following him on patrol, well, that’s just doing your job, right?

Meanwhile, Venti, or Barbatos, is starting to be seriously concerned about your mental and physical health. Are you obsessed? Is this hyperfixation unhealthy for you? Are you overworking yourself? What if you get hurt from one of his fights? What is he supposed to do in this situation?

In the end, he decides to take a minute to talk to you about it during his regular patrol. He’s relieved to find out that yes, you are okay, and that you’re really just a super big fan. Eventually talking to you becomes a habit.

As time passes, you start putting less and less private details into your articles and stick to more public knowledge and juicy bits you get from battles and about villains. The stuff he tells you on patrol stays with you as the two of you get to know each other better. Soon you’re good friends, and maybe are edging into more.

It was a night almost like any other, except for how it wasn’t. This time he’d picked you up, bridal style, and flew both of you up onto a rooftop. Now the two of you are taking a well deserved rest stargazing together. “And there’s sagittarius,” you point to a constellation in the sky. You were fascinated with stars a couple years ago and had a wealth of information you could share with him.

“Sagittarius, huh?” He murmured. “Right there?” Now he was pointing at it too.

“Not quite,” you reply. You wrap a hand around the hand he’s pointing with and adjust it’s direction. “Right there.”

When you don’t get a response, you turn and look at him, only to find him as red as the apples he loves so much. It seems to get even worse when he notices you looking and he stutters a bit before he is finally able to spit out what he’s been trying to say for weeks.

“I really, really like you.”

3) You’re a fellow superhero

You are a superhero called Torque who has total control over cars. Your weapon arsenal consists of fifteen different toy cars that you can shrink and grow at will and use to knock villains off their feet. Sure they have more tricks to them, but you can’t give all your secrets away, can you?

Your specialty is evacuation, but you’re also good at keeping supervillains on their toes. Getting run over by cars doesn’t tend to be fun. So you can distract them from the other hero they are fighting. Because of this you make excellent back up and are often on call.

He is better in combat situations because of his aerokinesis. His abilities make him great for emergency response because he can get to the fights quickly and take immediate, safe action. The level of control he has makes him incredibly versatile too.

The two of you end up working together very often. He will show up early with you coming in not too long after. You will take over evacuation and protecting the citizens, allowing him to completely focus on the villain. As soon as you’re done evacuating, you join in the frey.

Your teamwork is legendary among the hero community and you’re a very popular duo in the eyes of the citizens. Famous for prioritizing civilian safety and quick takedowns, you’re effective and efficient. So far as most anyone knows, you’re just good friends, despite 80% of your fanbase shipping you.

In reality though, you’re already married. It’s a secret because you don’t want your identities to be compromised and your different relationship levels in and out of costume add another layer of safety to your disguises. If they knew, though, they would love how domestic the two of you are at home.

You slip into your home through the window. A relieved sigh escapes your lips as you close the window behind you, only for you to nearly shriek as someone suddenly wraps their arms around your waist and blows in your ear. Venti laughs from behind you. “Ehe, you’re always so fun to surprise.”

He smiles into your shoulder and holds you unusually close. The smile seems a little strained. “Today was close, are you okay?” He asks you. Oh. He’s talking about how you almost got hit today. Usually you’re fast enough to avoid hits like that, but you got distracted while evacuating and almost didn’t see it coming. “I don’t know what I’d do without you, so be more careful, okay?”

4) You’re a hostage he saves

The two of you know nothing about each other at the time. You’re a regular citizen of Mondstadt who was going about their business as normal until you got kidnapped.

It all went so fast. One moment you were walking down the street, the next you were being held hostage with a knife to your throat. While you’re terrified, he rescues you as quickly as the villain got you.

There’s just something special about being saved by a superhero. As someone who had been crushing on him for a while even before being rescued, it was all a bit too much for you to comprehend.

He happens to have just the biggest crush on you out of costume, not that he ever planned to tell you. But there was something special about being able to save you, being your hero.

If either of you thought your crush couldn’t get worse, you were dead wrong. The media is all over it, spinning dramatic love stories about how he’d apparently been especially careful with you and you’d given him the look.

You start following news about him more frequently and he keeps a special eye on you the times he happens to spot you on patrol. Daydreams about each other are more common now and your mutual pining reaches new levels.

You hear a sharp rap as something hits your window. It continues for a couple time before you get curious enough to check out what’s going on. Apparently someone’s been throwing rocks at your window. Opening the window, you peer down to see who’s there and nearly get hit in the face. Thankfully, Barbatos catches the rock before it hits you.

“Whoops, sorry,” he apologizes. “I didn’t mean to almost hit you. I was just trying to get your attention.” He pulls a bouquet of flowers from behind his back, cecilias. “I got this for you! Hopefully you like it as much as I like you!” The blush dusting his cheeks has nothing on the warmth that covers your face. Are you sure you are not dreaming?

As some of you guys may know, I'm obsessed with Soap having a journal. I recently just bought a collectors edition MW3 just for the Journal (It legit only cost me like 20 bucks + shipping because the box was damaged)

Here are some little tidbits I didn't see when I looked up the journal in the past! Under the cut, since I'm gonna ramble a lot.

It's a small notebook of ~14cmx9cm (~5.5"x3.5" for you Americans). I expected it to be a proper Moleskine-sized, not pocket. But I guess it makes more sense.

I've said it in the footnotes of my fic, but Soap has at least 4 pens he constantly uses. Black, Red, Blue, and Green. He also has a yellow pen, an orangy-brown pen, and a pencil that crops up occasionally. I also think there are 2 blues; a lighter and a darker. Boy's carrying around multiple pens. You can see for yourself on the PDFs, but I feel it's not talked about enough.

After the "They're smooth, Price has taste" there's a cardboard Cigar Band. It's a "Villa Carla" brand, which upon a quick google search, is fake. He either wanted to know the brand (which he could have quickly written down the name instead) or he likes keeping items like that as memories.

After the final plans, there are about 7 pages blank before the last quote (which is speculated to be written by Price) The first page immediately after the plan is ripped out. At first, I thought it was the previous owner (I just bought it second-hand, the journal is a bit crumpled; but I like it, it's a bit more realistic) but the ripped page is slightly thicker and slightly different in texture. Plus, why rip out a page?

I didn't want to put my speculations on it, but I fucking will. Soap wrote his "If I Die" letter. We know it's somebody else who wrote the last quote in the book, so why else would the "last page" that Soap wrote be ripped out if it wasn't something to give to somebody else. Because what would be the odds that Soap ripped out a random page and it ended up right after he wrote his last entry.

Much like Moleskin notebooks, there's a pouch in the back, this part made me happy. There are 5 items:

Russian newspaper clipping, two different areas are highlighted. One underlined in red pen with "Man of the People" written on it.

Another diagram of a fight, this time with a Range/Elevation Chart overlayed and some "Quick Dope Cheats"

A fake "Hotel Lustig" matchbook. Filled with images of matches and a textured strip on the back.

Finally two team photos, one for each MW game that came before.

So it's OBVIOUS he carries this journal around with him, but he keeps lil memento's in it as well.

The love and attention to detail make it one of the prettiest Collectors Edition items I've ever owned.
