I have been massively dropping the ball on posting ANYTHING to tumblr about game dev progress - or any social media publicly, tbh - I am currently "rebranding" the IG dedicated to the game for when I have the energy to maintain it, which is unfortunately not right now. Lol.

So...since all of this has been revealed to backers already months ago, I feel comfortable sharing here. These are some sprites that have been FULLY finished* in the past year, along with a short blurb about the character shown. ^^ Apologies in advance that some of these images aren't formatted or watermarked in the same way as others.

Takuto Hirashima is a possible love interest for Mikuru, one of the twin protagonists. They both share an interest in the occult and horror movies. Takuto frequently goes on excited tangents about his interests, and has a photographic memory, so he tends to have a lot of information to spill. He has pretty severe carpal tunnel from being an active gamer.

Noah Reid is a potential love interest for Mikuru, as well. He is a Canadian model based out of Tokyo at the moment, the reason he is in Hokkaido at the time of the game is unclear. He likes to think he's very good at keeping himself shrouded in mystery. He was surviving on his own for several weeks after the outbreak.

Hanako Akechi is a possible love interest for Toshiro, the other twin protagonist. She has a pretty reserved personality, but when she finally reaches her boiling point, you'll wish she hadn't. She doesn't seem to have many hobbies and really keeps to herself. While she used to be a childhood friend of the twins, things soured, and they mostly lost contact. In hopes of patching things up, she managed to follow them to their attended university. It was not well-received.

Kiriko Yukimura is a possible love interest for both Mikuru and Toshiro (not at the same time...), depending on routes chosen. She is Arisa's closest friend, if not her only friend, and they've been bonded since childhood. Kiriko discovered gyaru style growing up, and decided it was a perfect aesthetic for her to build on to. She loves pastels and all things "girly," and at first it made her feel better to have a darker skintone when wearing a fashion known for intense tans in a country intolerant of mixed-race kids. Eventually, she felt really comfortable in her skin, and that shines through in her warm personality.

Kyoko Koyama is Arisa's older sister by 8 years. She is recently widowed. It's incredibly hard to read her real feelings through her expression, as she's very good at masking her real emotions, a skill learned from having to raise Arisa mostly alone. She loves Kiriko like family, and is desperate to mend the strained relationship she now has with Arisa as they both became adults.

A part-2 kickstarter to raise more funds for programming, the remaining art balance, and potentially even help with writing (I have a lot of health issues going on, have to do more conventions now than ever in order to afford rent, and I need hip surgery that I can't yet afford or make time for), and more...will launch early 2024. Please keep an eye on this page for updates!

*the sprites done first in order to be included in the demo are not actually finished, they're about halfway done. Each main character has 2 normal poses + 1 "fight" pose, multiple outfits, etc. In order for them to be done in time for demo publication, they just have 1-2 poses and 1 outfit each. Sprite artist is Sasamekuh!

I wanted to take a moment to talk about this awesome project that @midnight_springs is working on! It's a game called ApoYume Apocalyptic Dream that she's creating! 😲🤯 How cool right? This is an otome/horror theme game which I absolutely adore because I love both genre's a lot! If you check out her profile she has a link to play the demo of her game (better if you play it on a laptop) and I had a blast playing it and also cannot wait to see where she takes the story! The characters to me were likeable, (especially for a first glance) I first played as Mikuru and I adore her and also Atsushi (I'm totally already shipping them 😆) and you can also play as Toshiro, which I have to say he had some fun endings on his route. What will become of this if the game doesn't get fully funded? I desperately want a miracle because I love ApoYume and the physical rewards are perfect too, but there's only 8 days to go. Will you try again later?

Hello! Tbh, idk if this was asked during the failed campaign, or the successful one...🤣 I'm on mobile and don't see a date.

I shot even lower for the goal of the successful campaign due to the failure of the first, and knowing that without a video, it was still risky. As a result, I'm nearly out of campaign funds from it, so I will be launching another smaller one early next year once I've self-funded an animated video for it (just a PV, typical for otome or VN style games) and finished the updated demo that will be hosted on itch. I had to recently concede and hire programming help because of my health issues, so the updated demo with additional script and Sayaka included as a cameo, plus the custom GUI and actually programmed via NaniNovel and NOT CN, will be available later this year.

Hello! I'm sorry that I was inactive at the time this was asked ;; I actually still am confused by the newer tumblr UI, I only saw where the asks are stored by the notification of receiving a new one. Eek.

I appreciate you wanting to support the campaign and I hope my lack of response didn't deter you 😅 thank you for being interested in the game! When I do the relaunch KS next year I will make a video about how to do it, as it is pretty confusing.

Apocalyptic Dream (demo available here) is a story-driven 18+ otome set during a zombie apocalypse. The Kickstarter to fund the game launches September 28th (there will not be another delay, postponement was due to personal reasons).

There are numerous physical merch rewards you can pledge for, with or without the game, such as jewelry and apparel the characters are wearing; vinyl stickers; tarot cards with original artwork; enamel pins; keychains; and more!

Want to leave a mark on the game itself? No problem!

You can pledge to get an ID card of your OC added to the game and receive a physical copy for yourself, and there's even the option to add some graffiti to the backgrounds.

First ApoYume post! ☆

These are the two potagonists you play as. The POV alternates between twins at select intervals, rather than the entire game being playable through different perspectives. This streamlines and coordinates the story more realistically. I will start teasing the other already-cast characters soon!

ApoYume is an otome set during a zombie apocalypse. It will be rated M/18+ with language, sexual situations, and violence. (If the game does somehow get a lot of funding, there is a "Candy Gore Mode" stretch goal that would unlock a playable version of the game rated T+ with pastel gore aesthetic.) Toshiro is straight, while Mikuru is bisexual.

The demo will be publicly released sometime August 6th, and the Kickstarter will launch September 15th. There are some fantastic VAs and artists on staff and I can't wait to announce them all!

Hey everyone -

So, due to some personal issues going on, I wasn't able to post until now about the demo being live! It was released as intended on August 6th. Here is the link!

-there are some flashing lights in Mikuru's route

Due to the same personal issues mentioned, I haven't been able to get back on the desktop to add the following to the disclaimer page, so please be aware:

-each twin's route is different! By a lot. Toshiro's has 4 distinct endings, Mikuru's has 2 variations of the same one.

This is a demo, so many things will be changed for the full game, including engine (will be programmed on Unity for final). As of now, kickstarter projected date is still September 15th!

The demo has been programmed, however, I have to spend some extra time tonight and tomorrow ironing out technical difficulties, and bringing up legitimate bugs with the site staff at CloudNovel. In the meantime, here's the rest of the already-cast main character info!

The kickstarter launches September 15th, and the demo should be available publicly in a few days. Please bear with me, any technical difficulties still present at that time are most-likely beyond my control and just limitations of the platform. The full game will be programmed on Unity via NaniNovel.
