Self Defense | Self Defense Workshop | Charak Institute of Education, Lucknow |
Lucknow, 23.03.2025 l To realize the campaign of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Aatmanirbhar Bharat and for women empowerment, a self-defense workshop was organized at Charak Institute of Education, Lucknow under the joint aegis of Help You Educational and Charitable Trust and Red Brigade Trust, in which 70 girl students adopted the mantra of Meri Suraksha, Meri Zimmedaari and learned the tricks of self-defense and understood the importance of self-defense training in the current environment. The workshop started with the national anthem.
Dr. Anuradha Tripathi, Assistant Professor, Charak Institute of Education, thanking Help You Educational and Charitable Trust, said, "Self-defense training is a way of learning skills to protect oneself from an attack. Self-defense training makes girls and women physically and mentally strong and able to protect themselves from dangers. Today, due to increasing crimes in the society, it has become necessary for every girl and woman to learn self-defense techniques and use it when needed, so that the incidents of crime in the society decrease." In the workshop, Red Brigade Trust chief Mr. Ajay Patel explained the importance of self-defense training to the girls and said, "Injustice and atrocities on anyone cannot be a sign of a civilized society, and doing this to a very large part of the society i.e. women is against nature. Many steps have been taken by the Government of India to stop the atrocities happening in the country against women and girls and the government is continuously running many schemes to make women self-reliant and empowered, but it is a matter of great sadness that our society is living in the 21st century but has not been able to get rid of the vicious cycle of female foeticide and gender discrimination. Even today, in many parts of the country, a girl is killed as soon as she is born or there is discrimination between a daughter and a son. Women face domestic violence and they have to pay a very big price for being a woman. Self-defense training has become the need of the hour because if a woman does not learn to protect herself, then she will not be able to teach her daughter to fight for her self-respect. Today, look at any field, women are progressing shoulder to shoulder with men. They are equal partners. Then why are they considered inferior is a matter of consideration. We should increase their self-confidence, support them and teach them to use their courage and skills in the right direction for the progress of the society, only then will our society be able to progress. Our aim of organizing self-defense training workshop is that we can teach self-defense techniques to as many girls and women as possible and teach them to live with self-respect in the society."
Self-defense training instructors Ms. Mahima and Ms. Suman, while teaching self-defense techniques to the girls, made them aware about the mentality of boys and told them through practice how to avoid sexual violence and rape, from snatching hands, grabbing hair, pulling dupatta.
In the workshop, teachers of Charak Institute of Education Ms. Anjali Shukla, Ms. Shikha Srivastava, Tauheed Ahmed ji, Mr. Vikar Dubey, Mr. Shashi Kant Mishra, Mr. Ram ji Awasthi, Noor Yasmeen ji, Ajka Khalil ji, Dr. Islam ji, Ms. Savita Maurya, Dr. Sarvesh Singh, Ms. Akanksha Awasthi, Dr. Jaya Srivastava, Mohd.
