Here is a thread of NJPW wrestlers complaining about Mox having the title/AEWs treatment of the NJPW partnership.

The wrestlers aren't particularly happy about the partnership and if they get booked for AEW they just do their jobs (it's understandable, that's their job).

But they could have done more, Naito took his title loss personal because he lost to an outsider, all his peers were mad that the title was in the US, he knows it's on him to right this wrong, it's an interesting story and would have been better if AEW cared to air this conflict, NJPW commentary at least mentioned the fans were mad, they also could have done a better job.

They have a good story but I don't think Mox even knows everyone was gunning for his head including Shota, would have been nice if they included this in the story.

If they could build a story with Mina/Mariah/Toni then they can build or at least acknowledge pre existing story from the NJPW side.

How about we don't trivialize what happened to Janel Grant and Vince's other victims by making this a tribalism "GOTCHA" moment by calling WWE the Harvey Weinstein of wrestling.

AEW has done a lot of good will since Dynasty and what does Tony do? puts his foot in his mouth and pours all that good will down the drain. All he had to do was elevate AEW to crazy heights just go ahead and promote the company and not mention WWE. But he couldn't fucking help himself.

And hey, you shouldn't be saying this, WHEN YOU HAVE DON CALLIS, RIC FLAIR, JAY LETHAL AND CHRIS JERICHO ON YOUR FUCKING ROSTER! Don't throw stones when your hands are full of that kind of filth. RIC FLAIR'S ENERGY DRINK IS ADVERTISED EVERY FUCKING WEEK!

You could've said "Vince is the Harvey Weinstein of wrestling and WWE while are competitors are in the right direction, I'm excited about both our futures, we are both good for professional wrestling" but saying WWE was ridiculous. It was a pathetic attempt to seem like a try hard competitor, makes Tony look pathetic and desperate and made AEW look bad.

Comparing a wrestling company to Harvey Weinstein on national television is just straight-up defamation. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

This honestly makes me so angry. Brian was legit treated awful during his time in AEW and apparently they made him feel like it was all his fault. I HATE victimblaming and I hate when the victim blames themselves. AEW is a garbage company, no matter how you slice it and it's not fair how Brian, with all the potential and willingness to learn, got the short end of the stick. I do not blame him for going straight to NXT once his contract expired and never looked back. I'm so glad he's not only improving in NXT but is also happier and well taken care of. Shame on Tony forever.

By signing Jay, Shibata, Ospreay AND Okada it effectively killed the interesting matchups aspect of Forbidden Door because it can all happen on a random Wednesday, they are probably trying to lean into the Stardom and CMLL partnerships and they're going to do random matches and get away with it like they always do.

I saw people saying the lack of stars in NJPW is at fault but they have stars it's just that the most known have gone to AEW and now no one is paying attention to the newer generation in NJPW and I'm pretty sure if Tony was interested he would book them, but he doesn't because he got the toys he wanted and now NJPW doesn't matter to him unless they create a new star for him to steal.

"I went to a show not too long ago in Cardiff, a pay-per-view, it was embarrassing to sit in the front row and watch all the kids in the audience slap their leg as the wrestlers slap their leg in these kick spots where they pretend to kick each other with shin pads and slap sounds over and over. To realize that the crowd is in on it, the entire floor is clapping and slapping their leg. I'm going, 'we used to try and make it real, what happened?' Everybody is in on it. It's a big giant charade. I had a hard time feeling the fan part of me come to life. When I watched Dungeon Wrestling and I'm watching this young girl [Zoe Sager] wrestling, just watching her take someone over in a headlock and having a real headlock on was so much more than anything I saw in Cardiff with the wrestlers over there. It goes back to simple art. Wrestling is an art form. 'All art is simple.' Wrestling is a simple art that is really just storytelling or good vs. bad, most of the time, anyway, and it's an easy story to tell. Wrestlers have been doing it for decades and wrestlers from 2005 up don't know anything about telling stories or what headlocks are,"

When I see wrestlers today just slapping and the crowd going, 'wooo' and everyone keeps slapping, one after another and these guys have welts all over their chest and blisters and their chest hurt that night and they go, 'Geez, I was an idiot tonight and let somebody slap me on the chest as hard as he could 500 times and my chest is killing me.' That's what they used to do to the jabronies back in the old days, they would chop them, beat them, and slap them. I would never let a guy slap me and chop me. “The old kind of wrestling is sorely missed by a lot of people. If the old wrestling was around, like my dad’s wrestling, we’d come see it. Wrestling, in my opinion, needs to pretend to be real. It always has pretended really hard, almost to the point that you believe it is real. Wrestling is so far fetched today. When I think of WWE and see 20 wrestlers crowded together outside on the floor and someone dives over the top rope and knocks them all down like bowling pins, I roll my eyes at how pathetic wrestling is today. Top to bottom, all the top wrestlers and all the middle bottom wrestlers in WWE and AEW, all slapping their leg on every punch and slap. It’s to the point where I can’t watch wrestling today. Sadly, it’s getting too phony. I really question the direction that the people that are in charge are taking wrestling. AEW has gone in a bad direction with all the violence and gore. I watched an episode, Dr. Martha Hart doing her big press conference, I’m watching AEW and [Jon Moxley] is sticking a fork in somebody’s head for five minutes with a close-up. This isn’t wrestling. I would recommend turning all that off and not watching because it’s not very good. Wrestling is going in bad directions because people don’t know what wrestling is or was.

It’s the people in charge that I question, and I’m not sure who is in charge anymore, especially in WWE, you never know who is in charge from one day to the next. It seems to me that somebody is not paying attention to the details. Back in my day, there was Chief Jay Strongbow, Pat Patterson, Jack Lanza, who knew exactly what needed to be done and knew the orders to carry out from Vince (McMahon) each night. There was a better understanding. When you came back after a match, Chief Jay would say, ‘Don’t do this anymore, don’t do that, change this.’ It was always the best advice and people who knew what they were talking about. I don’t think that’s happening today.

I think the people talking to the young wrestlers have absolutely zero idea of how wrestling is. They are all guys who never made it in wrestling and none of them ever had any ideas. I don’t know who is doing the thinking anymore, but someone needs to fire everybody that’s in charge in both companies, in all companies. They lack credibility, they are not believable, and the 1980s wrestling was 100 times better than the wrestling today. The best professional wrestling needs to pretend to be real, when it stops pretending to be real, which is all of what they’re doing today, it’s ridiculous.”
