this does NOT surprise me at all and would be really fun to explore. i just am looking to avoid spending money on any more rulesets atm so i gotta work with what i have (a more general postapocalypse ruleset that i think will still fit the fallout universe).

Time. Honestly there is never enough of it in the day for Ed to get done everything he wants to do. He sleeps very little or not at all during times when his obsessions are driving him too hard. Eddie jokes about how he should just start a direct line of caffeine when he's working. The guy DOES run on a lot of stimulants. Caffeine. Nicotine. Ect. Even during times post getting out of Arhkam through time served when he's on his meds he still struggles with the obsessive side of his personality even if the OCD thoughts are more controlled with meds or his mental tools his doctors help him with. There's been a handful of times that Query & Echo have had to ducttape him to his rolling chair in his workshop and just roll him to bed ASDFGHJK stand there and make sure he stays in bed and actually goes to sleep. He's not an idiot, he knows his brain NEEDS sleep and he does try his best but there are times his obsessions/compulsions for riddles keeps him up for days on end planning out his next game. He's def been hospitalized for sleep deprivation related problems. Batman has probably done it for him before at least once when Ed's riddles and games made zero sense to anyone else. Sometimes Arkham really is the best place for him when things get super unhealthy and he just can't stop even though his body needs him to.

I don't know anything about Twin Peaks, but I found your blog on total accident and your post about Laura being mythologized by her death made me follow you instantly. Because you're right, and that's how so many young women are treated. Nobody grows up hoping they die a martyr; we all just want to live happy and free to be ourselves and she didn't get that, and it isn't fair that the people in her life weren't held accountable for what they did.

Anyways, sorry for the rant. I think it rocks that you have such a clear and honest view of a character who shouldn't have been hurt the way she was.

this is such a kind and thoughtful message! thank you so much for taking the time to write it --- i don't know how my interpretation of laura holds up to the creators' original intent, but one thing i think we can all agree on is that collective/public grief is rarely honest, and it rarely has anything to do with the person who actually died. i wouldn't recommend watching the show, really (i know, i am just Like This, And For What?), but i do think that was something the writers gave a fair amount of consideration. it's just so easily lost in translation, you know? fandoms ... like having #icons to force into the holes they've dug for their own use, and laura's image has suffered a lot from that. she's not meme fodder: she's just a girl that no one listened to, and people still aren't paying attention to what she's saying, over 30 years later. it's all very "disappointed, but not surprised".
