@runaways-hideaway ; I made a kinda gay edit after this entire conversation he has with his (boy)friend cuz brother, the way you look at him is just pure love, pure i-would-do-anything-to-please-you, which is what HE DID glad to know im not the only one who sees it, this movie wasn't in the slightest straight, cuz why were there two seperate confession scenes where they just yell their love out for each other (one of them even ended up in samantha telling him to be with chandru instead lol)

hellooooo thank you for the picking out these old anjaan posts lol i always love it when people interact with my stuff here, especially on older posts :') not many do anymore with the influx of new users from other sites not knowing how tumblr works rip. ye it has been a while since i've watched this film buT YESSSS this movie was so needlessly hetero cos the raju/chandru relationship was just so weirdly written in?? what even was happening, man... so dumb. i know it's a shit film but the sole silverlining is absolutely the homoeroticism that at least makes the subtext vaguely interesting to ponder over in an otherwise bland and commonplace revenge narrative. the entire sequence with bramanandham and the conversation post-dance where they sit on the road is my favourite, too. one of the few bits where the film has some proper heart to it imo

You know when I saw Anjaan, I had the same thought -- that if we're gonna see a young Rolex, he would look like Suriya as Raju in Anjaan. That Suriya is really easy to see as young Rolex and I hope to god we see it in the LCU.

i hate propaganda films include the kerala story made money for bjp
you know at this point i think we are absolutely incapable of making films about organised crime without simultaneously, and needlessly dragging and targeting our muslim people and communities. it is very clear that these people making all these films about Islamic terrorism be it The Attacks of 26/11 or Kashmir Files or now with The Kerala Story, don't know shit about Islamic teachings or discipline at all. nor do they want to. all these so called 'documentary films' do is create deceitful perceptions and resultant discrimination against Muslims not only in India but everywhere. they're just all trying to slowly achieve this Purist Hindu Nationalist agenda where anything even slightly not in accord with Hinduism is deemed violent and insanitary for the nation's religious health. and any state, which is Kerala in this case, that tries to sustain diversity that in any way involves Islamic identities positively is ostracised and made into a cautionary tale. "do not be like this state. do not let islamism prevail." where actually, kerala has drastically been able to reduce its ISIS recruitments according to this post and is not even among the top five ISIS targets anymore.
this is incorrect and exaggerated portrayal and extremely, extremely dangerous especially when a large part of its demographic is desperate to prove, hungry for blood hindus who will charge at anything without looking left or right. injuring the rights and trampling on the voices of our muslim communities and people by shadowing their entire religion under the cloud of terrorist activities is burning an irreparable hole into the minds of our youth, especially our hindu youth, who may go on to amplify such behaviour.
i've heard my cousin sister telling her friends that her mom doesn't like this part of the town because it's mostly muslim people over here and that she shouldn't make friends with muslim people because they kidnap girls and take them to some place bad. and she is eight years old. i have heard my one of my peers whining about how her train compartment was mostly muslim people and she felt unsafe without her hindu friends there. this is the state of our children and adoloscents right now. they don't know what inflation is but they already have a political aversion towards a certain religious group. and while i can still interrupt and correct these two people for their inane, secondhand remarks, i can not convince the rest 750 crore something people. but the anti-muslim and anti-islam propaganda can and is reaching all of those people thanks to the widespread and accepted medium of film and cinema.
which is fucking terrifying.

What fandom's are you a part of?? What books/comics/movies have you watched that are your main hyperfixations?
First and foremost, I was in the marauders fandom for a looong ass time. In the lockdown I got into Marvel. I've seen a few movies and series but most of my marvel knowledge comes from textposts and fanfics. Then one of my marauder moot recced ORV to me after finding out I read webtoons. The comics include villain to kill, i was the final boss, eleceed, greatest estate developer, lout of the counts family (I'm reading its novel as well), covenant, life of a quack healer, my s class hunters, the reborn young lord is an assassin and a few saved ones I have yet to start. I started reading GoT but didn't even manage to complete the first book before loosing interest. I have read Six of crows duology in a week :) {I'm a fast and obsessive reader}
Now the same moot recommended MXTX to me. I read all 3 novels in a month and they are my current hyperfixations. If you ask me my fav, its Scum villain's self saving system. I'm currently reading Husky and his white cat Shizun.
wheewwww that's a long list

47 years of Do Anjaane (26/11/1976)
"Do Anjaane" was produced by Tito and directed by Dulal Guha. It's adapted from Nihar Ranjan Gupta's story "Rater gari." The film features a star-studded cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Prem Chopra, Pradeep Kumar, Utpal Dutt, Lalita Pawar, and a young Mithun Chakraborty before his rise to fame. This film inspired remakes in other languages, with "Maavari Manchitanam" in Telugu (1979) and "Aaseya Bale" in Kannada (1987).
The screenplay was written by Shafiq Ansari and Nabendu Ghosh, based on Gupta's story. The cinematography was handled by M. Rajaram, and Bimal Roy was responsible for the editing. The music, a critical aspect of the film, was composed by Kalyanji Anandji, with lyrics penned by Anjaan and Verma Malik.

oh wow somehow this got lost in my notifications, but you are soo right, shit film true but the homoeroticism makes it so enjoyable, or maybe i am starved for tamil queer content. At this point, give me a commercial action-romance film with a threadbare shitty plot BUT two male leads and I'd be happy. Somehow that feels more accepting than an indie-pretentious-short-film on youtube or something.
Anyways this inspired me to edit these two again for a whole song. Let me know if you (or anyone else) is interested in seeing the edits lol
