Hand-painted fanmade reproduction cel from episode 22 of the possession scene in the 1992 anime, made by @yamino (She's currently taking commissions)!

This reproduction also has a special feature! When she steals enough Energy, then...

...her eyes glow in the dark!

So yeah that's pretty much one of the coolest things I own XD

I didn't want to buy any official original 90s anime cels, for fear of damaging them with my shoddy house conditions; I feel like the original cels belong in a museum! But this reproduction one is fun, and it's made for me 💜 Thanks again @yamino!

Additional ramblings on this scene from the anime- I always liked to imagine, even though she's being possessed, that this smile was, in part, Naru herself smiling that wickedly, even if she doesn't fully remember the events afterwards. That thought was a big inspiration in my past life story ideas about Osakaite!

I fortunately have access to using a commercial scanner so I put together a video of all the douga sketches from this sequence. There are 16 sketches total.

A8 was drawn on slightly bigger paper for some reason (though not much bigger)

it's pretty mind boggling to think about how this stuff was done on cel, and the number of individual colours needed for a scene like this. This is an intense cel, Michiyo Yasuda (a unique expert) would have to bust out the swatches and find colours for the goop, what colour will make it look transparent against the BG, what colour for when it's in front of each colour area of the other characters, including their shadows! Then someone had to go and paint it onto each cel with no mistakes! Gifs source cel image source

Thought I would scan one of my Patalliro animation cels before I get it framed. Some of the scribble on the top did not fit on the glass, but I left the paint splatter on the right.
