Here’s a little soulmate au drabble with no context I’m just bored and sad. If anyone’s interested maybe I’ll continue it <3 for context, on your 18th birthday your soulmate’s name appears somewhere on your body in their handwriting.

“What do you think they’re gonna be like?” Jasmine wondered aloud, head in her best friend Willow’s lap, the other busy texting her own soulmate, Angeria.
Willow looked up from her phone, a wistful smile on her face. “What’d you say?”
Rolling her eyes, Jasmine sat up. “My soulmate! My 18th is in a week, what do you think they’ll be like?”
Her 18th birthday was something Jasmine had been waiting for ever since she was little and her mom sat her on her knee and showed her Jasmine’s father’s name scrawled on her forearm. Jasmine and her father didn’t always see eye to eye, but the way he looked at her mother made Jasmine yearn for something like that, so ever since then she’d been counting down the days until her 18th. Being the youngest in her friend group, she watched all her friends learn who their soulmate was before her. The morning of Willow’s 18th she woke up with the name “Angeria’ scrawled on her hip in the fanciest writing they’d ever seen. Then a week later, Willow happened to come across someone named Angeria on twitter, a simple DM confirming that Angeria also had ‘Willow’ in loopy writing etched into her upper thigh for two years now. Since then, they’d been talking, falling in love through FaceTime calls and good morning and goodnight texts.
Jasmine tried not to be jealous, but she was so jealous of anyone else who at least knew the name of the person they’d be destined to spend their life with. She even listened with envy as Willow told her about her friend, Denali, someone Jasmine didn’t even know, woke up with her girlfriend’s name on her wrist, confirming that the love she already had was the right one.
“I don’t know,” Willow replied, sending off one last text before setting her phone down and turning her attention to Jasmine, “what do you think they’re gonna be like? If they’re anything like Angeria, they’re kind, beautiful, thoughtful, with a nice ass too.”
Jasmine fake gagged, rolling her eyes subsequently. “We’re talking about me,Willow! You already told me what your soulmate is like a million times now.”
“I know, I’m sorry, im just-“
“You’re in love, I know. I’m probably gonna be the same way.”
Willow giggled and pinched Jasmine’s cheek affectionately. “Aww my baby is growing up! Soon you’re gonna know who your very own soulmate is and you’re probably gonna leave me for them!”
“You’ll always be my bestie, Will, but I’m ready to know how it feels to finally know.”
——
A week later, Jasmine woke before her alarm, excitement replacing the drowsy sleepiness in her bones as she realized what day it was. With a nervous pit in her stomach, she jumped out of bed, nearly hopping across the room to stand in front of her full body mirror. Her eyes scanned her body slowly, wanting to take her time in finding the name that should be etched into her body somewhere, her chest, shoulders, and arms came back blank, all places she’d seen other people’s names show up. Slowly eyeing her way down her long legs, she finally noticed a black smudge looking mark across her left ankle that wasn’t there yesterday. Jasmine gasped with excitement, kneeling down with her eyes closed. She counted to 3 in her head, taking a deep breath before opening them.
There, on her ankle in nearly perfect handwriting was a name she hadn’t thought of in years.
Bosco.
The blood drained from her face and her stomach flipped. How could her soulmate be someone who she hadn’t spoken to in years? Someone who she was sure hated her guts?
