You clear your throat, clasping your hands on the table in front of you. Your Dad raises an eyebrow as he glances up at you from his pancakes. “I have a proposition for you.”
"Oh dear.” He mutters, wiping his mouth on a napkin. “What?”
You slouch at his response. “You don’t even know what I was proposing. I could’ve been proposing we take a day trip to Anaheim and go see an Angels game tonight.”
“Are you proposing we go see an Angels game tonight?”
You hesitate. “...No.” You straighten up, shooting him a bright smile. “But it’s a good proposition! I promise.”
He sighs, leaning back into the squishy material of the booth he’s sitting at. “Ho ahead.” He nods his head, gesturing for you to speak.
A grin spreads across your face as you eye him carefully. “What if we got matching tattoos?”
“Absolutely not.” It only takes him a half second to respond and you slouch again.
“Why not?”
He shakes his head, picking his fork up. “I don’t care what stupid things you and Machado get tattooed on your bodies-”
“Oh, they’re not stupid, I promise!” You pick up your phone from the table next to you, pulling up your camera roll. “Look, I was thinking we could get matching Snoopy and Woodstock tattoos.” You slide the phone across the table to him. “April even drew up a cute one of Snoopy and Woodstock in a plane.”
He sighs, sliding the phone back across the table to you. “They are cute. Why don’t you just get a Snoopy and Woodstock tattoo?”
“Because that’s not the point.”
“I’m in my sixties.” He says, mouth full of pancake. “I’ve gone this long without a tattoo.”
“Which is why you should start now. You know, before you get old and gross.”
“You’re not doing yourself any favors.” He says with a pointed look.
“But-”
“I do kind of like the idea of going toAanaheim now. Wonder if we can find tickets the game tonight.”
“Would you at least think about it?”
“No.” He says, pulling out his phone. “We’re not getting matching tattoos. My answer is no.”
“That’s what you said about the dog.” You mutter under your breath.
“What was that?”
“Nothing!”
-
You huff, turning in your chair to face your boyfriend. “Bradley, I need your opinion on something.”
He nods, pulling his attention way from the Angels game to you. “What’s up honey?”
“Look at this tattoo April drew up for me.”
He huffs out a laugh, taking the phone out of your grasp. “’S cute, honey. You thinking for you?”
You nod. “Yeah, me and Dad.”
He raises an eyebrow. “Mav’s getting a matching tattoo with you?” d says, sitting back down in his seat next to you. He hands you the nachos he’d gotten with the same pointed look he’d given you this morning in the diner. “I told you no.”
“No.” Your Dad says, sitting back down in his seat next to you. He hands you the nachos he’d gotten with the same pointed look he’d given you this morning in the diner. “I told you no.”
“Also what you said about the dog, Mav.” Coyote says from the other side of Bradley. “You don’t have much ground to stand on here.”
“Javy’s got a good point.” Penny comments from the other side of your Dad.
He whips towards her. “Who’s side are you on here?”
She laughs, nudging him as he gives her a grin. As his attention turns back to the game, you grumble.
“I’ll wear you down eventually.”
“What was that?”
“Nothing!”
-
“Hey Hondo, should my Dad get a matching tattoo with me?”
He chuckles, turning. “Obviously, my vote’s yes.”
“Hondo!” Your Dad calls from further behind you.
“What tattoo are we talking about?”
You pull your phone out, pulling up the sketch April had drawn. “This.”
“Oh wait, that’s not half bad.”
“Thank you-”
“My answer is still no.” Your Dad says, out of breath as he jogs up to you and Hondo.
“You’ll push past Mach 10 but won’t get a tattoo with your only daughter and child.” Hondo says, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah.” You agree, crossing your arms.
“I have plenty of children. Thirteen of them to be exact.”
You huff.
-
“Please.” You borderline whine, slumping down on to the couch. “Don’t tell me you haven’t given it any thought.”
You jut out your lip, pouting. Your Dad raises an eyebrow, giving you an unimpressed look. “Stop looking at me like that.”
“Only one I’ve got.”
His face doesn’t change, still looking thoroughly unimpressed. “That face hasn’t worked on me since you were seven.”
“You’re a liar, I could get anything I wanted with this face.”
“It’s not happening.”
“Oh, c’mon!”
-
“Hypothetically,” Your Dad starts, prompting you to raise your head. “If we got these tattoos, where would you want to get them?”
Your fork clatters to the plate.
You dive for your phone across the table, trying to pull up the new sketches April had drawn up for you. “Okay, I ended up hating the original one, so April redrew them. I was think just above the inside of your elbow? So there’s sort of a flat line?” You say, sliding the phone across the table. “I liked this more since Snoopy’s on the top of the doghouse. April drew up a little one with Woodstock for me too.”
He chuckles, looking at the phone. “Okay, I don’t hate this.”
“So you’ll do it?”
He sighs, handing the phone back to you. “I’ll think about it.”
-
“I can not believe you convinced me of this.” He grumbles, pushing the front door of the tattoo shop.
“Won’t it be so fun? We’re bonding.”
He huffs, shaking his head. “That’s one way to look at it.”
“Well, if it isn’t my favorite Mitchell.” April calls as she walks out of the back. Her eyes drift over to you, coming to stand in front of the two of you. “Oh, you’re here too.”
You roll your eyes as your Dad chuckles. “Shut up April.”
“Hi April.” You Dad say warmly. “How’ve you been?”
“Good, I’ve been good. Nice to see you both. You daughter tells me you want to ge thatching tattoos today?”
Your Dad gives a weary sigh as you grin.
“I’ve been told I can’t say no to her.”
“To be fair, Mr. Mitchell, you’ve always been like that.”
-
“Soooo....” You draw out, watching your Dad carefully. “Do you it hate it?”
He lets out a little laugh. “Honestly, no.” He says with a shake of his head. “If only Ice could see us now. He probably thinks I’m an idiot.”
“Yeah, well, Slider’s impressed you managed to hold out this long.”
“Two months.” He says, holding up his fingers. “I held two months.”
“Yeah, and that’s the longest it’s ever taken me to get what I wanted.”
“This is something permanent. On my body.”
“With all due respect, you took significantly less time to say yes to the dog, Mr. Mitchell.” April comments.
Your Dad sighs, unable to argue with that.
You straighten up in your seat. “Well, I’m thrilled you finally said yes. Now, when people ask me about it, I get to see that I have a matching tattoo with my Dad because we were both pilots. I get tell them how he always read me the Peanuts comics and told me abridged stories growing up. That I’m a pilot because of him and now I get to have a matching tattoo with him that reflects it.”
Your Dad sighs, taking a long look at you as he lets his hands fall to your shoulders.
“Well, if you had just put it that way, I probably would’ve said yes the first time you asked.”
“Oh, I hate you.”

CHAPTER 36: Weezer - Part 1
From his porch on Mulholland Drive, All-Kill sits, looking out across Los Angeles. The view is beautiful at night, but on this particular morning, it looks muggy and uncomfortable. “Yeon-in,” he calls.
At his summons, the wolf appears with a bottle of Korean soju held in its jaws. With surprising dexterity, it places the bottle on a small table next to its master. All-Kill pets his companion between the ears, then unscrews the cap, pouring the rice wine into a small glass and sipping from it.
“Little early for that, isn’t it?” T’onga says, stepping out of the house and standing behind the chair.
“I’m in a celebratory mood… Have you taken care of everything? The stragglers and loose ends?” the boss replies, keeping his eyes on the view.
“Yeah. Of course,” she says numbly.
“Good. Then the time to strike is now. Go to where Dust is and use HOUSE OF PAIN to eliminate him. No matter what you say or what it takes, do that above all else. It makes no difference what kind of ability Dust has. Once you get him into the room, he’s no match for you. I have every confidence. As far as I’m concerned, we’ve already won.” He punctuates his statement with another sip of soju and a smile.
“Right… Where’s Sang-ok?” T’onga asks.
“At his apartment. I’ll call him over when you’re done.”
“…And Sumni?”
At the mention of this name, there is a long pause between the two, as All-Kill places his glass down. “…She’s on standby, as usual. Why? What difference does it make?”
“Oh… it doesn’t. I was just wondering where everybody was. See you later, boss…” she turns a leaves, stepping back inside the house. All-Kill turns his head and keeps his eye on her until she leaves his sight. The wolf at his feet whines softly.
“Anaheim…” he mutters, and nothing more.
                                                         ---
The Anaheim Convention Center and Arena! One of the largest gathering spots in all of Southern California, a stone’s throw away from the famous Disneyland, home to every sort of convention for every sort of event, from company-wide get-togethers, to the biggest sporting event, down to the most niche of fan conventions. And this time of year, it's home to the one and only...
TubeCon, the world’s convention for the no. 1 video-sharing network, VidTube! Here, everyone from video bloggers, pranksters, game streamers and the ever underappreciated animators gather to engage with their fans and celebrate their work.
They mill about like termites, some old, but most young, moving between stall after stall, buying merch, taking selfies. Among them are content creators, many of whom film themselves on their phones. Their voices can be heard clearly over the general din.
“EY ITS UR BOY MERCINATOR MEETING UP WITH SOME FANS!!!”
“EY WHAT UP GUYS IT'S YO BOY RATMATT HERE AT TUBECON!!!”
“WE'RE THE SLY BROTHERS AND WE'RE HERE AT TUBECON TO GET PEOPLE'S REACTIONS TO MEETING US!!!”
At the far end of the auditorium, three men in their thirties play video games on a couch under the scrutiny of over a hundred people.
“Julio,” one demands of his bearded companion, “would you rather eat a man or acquire a nice tan?”
“I don’t… What kind of question is that, Neil?” Julio splutters.
“Julio, answer the question!” demands the third.
“What is this place...?” Kilo mutters, taking in the atmosphere with distaste, having found himself and his friends beckoned here.
“This is probably what Hell looks like,” Moya remarks, with a thousand-yard stare. In the midst of this controlled chaos, she and Kilo stand protectively between Shizuka, who stares doe-eyed into the crowd, searching for something. For someone. Frowning, she reaches into her inside pocket and pulls out the message for the hundredth time.
I WILL MEET YOU AT ANAHEIM and a drawing of an impossible triangle, written in permanent marker, and three tickets to this very convention. Nothing else was in the envelope delivered to Jerome’s mansion. Shizuka turns the message around, but all she sees on the back is the marker ink bleeding through the paper.
“Whoever it was that sent that letter…” Kilo grumbles, peering over her shoulder at it, “ least they could’ve done is be a little more specific. So what now, cop?” he turns to Moya, “We just supposed to stand around here, waitin’ for somebody to walk up on us?”
“This is our best move,” Moya replies, squinting suspiciously into the crowd, “For now, we have to assume the worst and that this is a Congregation trap. They’ve been one step ahead of us this whole time, and even now they still have the advantage. But waiting around in C-King’s house won’t get us any closer to stopping them, so we may as well take the chance and handle what comes of it. And besides… if T’onga really did send that message, then I don’t know when we’ll get another chance to get this close to her. No matter what happens, we can’t get separated. As long as we stick together, I’m confident we can take anything that comes our way!”
“Hrrmh… I hope you’re right…” Kilo says. Shizuka says nothing during this exchange, but looks up from the letter, glaring resolutely.
“HEY, YOU GUYS!!” shouts a loud, raucous cry, directed at the three of them. Immediately, SATURN BARZ and WITCH MOUNTAIN come out, only to recede soon after. A man in his late 20s wearing mirror-shades suddenly stands right in front of Shizuka.
With painfully artificial exuberance, the man in sunglasses shouts, “You’re next in line, huh, bros?! Great!! Don’t be shy, I always have time for fans! Here, lemme get that for you!” He says, taking the paper from Shizuka’s hand.
“Ah…! Hey, wait…!!” she starts, but the guy soons hands it back to her, but not before scrawling chicken scratch on the back in red ink.
“Who the fuck is this…?” Kilo mutters. He then glances behind him and notices for the first time a line has formed behind them, composed of teenage girls and boys, the eldest surely no older than 14. Without moving from their spot, the trio appear to have become part of an autograph line.
“Now you got your autograph, how about a selfie?!” the shaded vlogger announces to Shizuka, already pulling out a smartphone and attaching it to a telescopic pole. “It’ll be legit, for real! You’re bound to get a ton of likes on your feed once people see me on it!”
“Ah… N-no, thanks,” Shizuka responds, taken aback, “I’m kind… of waiting for-”
“Come on, honey, no need to be shy!” he announces again, sidling up beside her with his selfie stick raised over them, “You’re talking a major boost in online cred if you get seen with me! I’m kind of a big deal on YouTube, in case you didn’t know!” Bearing over her, he reaches a hand across her shoulders, “And hey, if we hang out a little more, maybe I can give you a few tips on how to get your own channel started! I could send a few early subscribers your way, if you do me a couple favors. What do you sGGLKH!!”
He chokes, his tongue lolling out as Moya lifts him, one-handed, by the back of his t-shirt collar. Kilo, meanwhile, grabs the selfie stick out of his hand, breaks it in half over his knee, then pitches the phone to the other side of the auditorium. The teenagers in the line behind them gasp. Moya drops him, and they and Shizuka moves away from him, stepping around him like garbage.
“H-Hey! Wait up!!” The vlogger shouts, rubbing his neck and beginning to pursue them, “Hey! You guys! Who do you fuckin’ think you are?! Hey, I said--!!” Kilo and Moya turn at once, fixing him with furious expressions. “Yeah, what?”, they say at the same time.
The vlogger appears to forget how to speak for a moment. Then he scurries off to retrieve his phone, shouting back, “My followers are gonna hear about this, you hear me?!”
Shizuka hardly notices his departure, merely brushing lint off her shoulder. Kilo and Moya exchange a concerned glance.
                                                         ---
The vlogger weaves his way through the crowd, eventually finding his phone lying on the ground with a cracked screen. Upon sight, he rushes to retrieve it, but crashes into a tall man in a hoodie from behind. “Hey! Watch where you’re going, jackass!” he berates before stooping to pick up his phone. The guy in the hoodie slouches, removing his earbuds from his ears and scratching his oversized afro.
Before the vlogger stands back up, he starts wheezing. He manages to release a few choked coughs, which go unnoticed by anyone, before his neck and face begin to swell up like a balloon and his face turns a shade of pale blue.
“Anaphylactic shock, huh? Nasty...” says Toto, and nothing more. By the time he finishes his remark, the vlogger is already dead and he has lost all interest in him. He peers over the crowd. His eyes fall upon the trio, then he slides himself into the back corridors.
Without a care in the world, he strides through the service hallways, eventually coming to the security control center. He opens the door with a stolen clearance card and enters the room, shutting the door behind him. Two dead security guards are propped up against the wall, their faces blotchy and swollen. Toto sits down at the surveillance desk and finds the trio on one of the monitors.
“They’re clinging to each other like…” he mutters to himself, keeping them in sight at all times. “Like… Like, uh… Liiiike… Oh! Like tar and feathers! … No, no, not like that, not like tar and feathers, more like…” he stops abruptly and furrows his brow deeply, searching for the correct analogy. “Flies on hot shit? No, no… Oh, yeah! Like atomic particles! Two little electrons orbiting around a neutron/proton center! That’s perfect!” He smiles, delighted. Then his smile drops.
“Wait, hold on, if the three of them are an atom, then wouldn’t splitting them up be totally bad?” he mutters, beads of sweat suddenly appearing on his forehead, “When you split an atom up, you get nuclear fusion, in other words a big fuckass huge explosion…! Applyin’ that here… Dust wanted me to separate the Joestar princess from her friends, but what if that’s a bad idea…?! What if the best bet is to take ‘em all here and now, together…?! No no no, fighting ‘em all at once is no good either, their abilities are too strong…!
“Aaagh, did I do enough, did I miss anything?! I been here for an hour and I made sure to touch as many people as I could, but what if it ain’t enough?! What if all the people I came into contact left already?! Uuuurghh…!!” he frets manically over this, pinching his temples as his thoughts race. Then at last he freezes, and his relaxed posture returns.
“Don’t be stupid,” he admonishes himself, “It’s just an expression, they ain’t really atoms. They just people. Caught in the flow of fate, just like everybody. Does no good to worry over how things’ll turn out. Split ‘em up, cram ‘em together… It’s all the same at the End of Time…” Fully calmed down, he reaches for the microphone and leans into it.
Affecting an officious, professional tone, he speaks into the PA, “Attention, all convention-goers, attention all convention-goers. The Paulie Paul panel event will be commencing in ten minutes. Please proceed to the cordoned area in Hall D in an orderly fashion. Thank you.” Finished, he watches with satisfaction at the silent stampede that begins, which slams into the trio, tearing them apart.
He reaches into his front pocket and pulls out a pre-rolled spliff. He regards it for a moment, taking in the herbal scent, before shaking his head. “No, no… No time. Gotta work…” he says, getting up and leaving the security office, heading for the exhibit halls.

Woke up yesterday to a call from my boss, asking me to work graveyard last night/this morning instead of swing yesterday.
I happily agreed -- I stayed up too late last night and was dreading that 1:00pm alarm.
After talking with him, I got to go back to bed and sleep until 6:30pm Now I have two days to get my sleep schedule back on swing shift.
Overall a dead night -- for almost an hour and a half we had no guests. But at around midnight, a lady (probably in her mid-20s -- she was carded, but not by me, so I don’t know) went into the bathroom, came out a few seconds later, grabbed a straw, and went back in. Then she came out a few minutes later, grabbed another straw, and went back in.
One of my security guards thought, “huh, that’s weird.” But this security guard used to do drugs, and after the second time he walked up to the entrance of the womens’ room and took a sniff, and recognized the smell of burning heroin.
He explained to me what was going on, and once she left the restroom we made sure it was empty and went in to see if we could find any evidence. In one of the handicapped stalls, we found two melted straws which she used to suck in the smoke from the burning heroin. I called the sheriff’s department and explained what was going on.
Unfortunately, the lady and the man she was with left while I was on the phone with dispatch. The deputies came and confirmed what the security guard had told me, but said that, since it happened in the restroom (no cameras in there for obvious reasons), even if they found her they wouldn’t have a case, no matter how obvious it was to both the deputies and us what had happened.
All they could do was remove the straws from the premises so we wouldn’t have to handle them (as there may have been residue on them).
A local Native American casino has had a big problem with drug users, and Tribal police have been banning people from that casino left and right. Which...good on them for doing so. But that means they’re now coming here (after midnight, we’re the closest casino to that one, just a couple miles down the road). And I don’t know if county sheriffs have more restrictions on the burden of proof, or whether the Tribal police have been overstepping their bounds as far as assuming guilt without enough evidence, or if the users were more open about it there and got caught.
But, on the plus side, the deputies are making their presence known much more often in our casino. There are a few specific people they’re looking for (apparently one of our regulars, who we’ve long-suspected of dealing, is having a pretty good case built against him with the use of undercover officers, and one of our other regulars has a warrant out, but I have not been able to find out which one so I could call the sheriffs department when I see them), but mostly they just want it known that they are watching. They may catch some people. They may just spook them enough to keep them from frequenting the casino (none of them play much, usually, and even if they did, we don’t need them or their money, as the druggies could turn off our other regulars to where THEY stop coming in).
There have been a LOT of shenanigans lately (unlike about a year ago, when it was a manager and a couple of employees doing the shenanigans, which led to quite the tongue-lashing from our owner, this time it’s not anything WE’RE doing wrong -- in fact, every manager we have is on board with trying to fight this, but understanding that there’s a high burden of proof, but...with this new security guard who has a past, we’re all learning, as he’s filling us in on his old tricks and people he knows are still involved in that world.
Usually it’s tweakers (people on meth). Heroin is even worse. I don’t want either one in my casino, but...wow. I hope we get them out of our hair soon. Let them move to the NEXT casino down the road.
I’m told we scared the druggies away before (they came back after we were off the sheriffs department radar for a while), so hopefully we can do it again.
It’s still weird to me to have a good relationship with (most of) the deputies here. I’ve only ever had bad experience with cops before this (I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating for those of you who are new -- I have no arrest or criminal record, my worst transgression is a speeding ticket that I got in Illinois, and I once got a parking ticket in California because I forgot it was street sweeping day). But most cops I’ve dealt with before I moved here (with ONE exception, a Los Angeles Airport Police officer who helped me out when I ran out of gas literally right next to an LAX runway -- I actually called his superior officer to compliment him, that’s how helpful he was; I actually had an Anaheim police officer, after my roommates locked me out with no notice and not only kept, but then SOLD everything I owned that was in the apartment, ask if I had receipts for the things I’d owned for years, and said “I don’t have a special ‘cop-knock’ that will make them answer the door and give your stuff back”).
But here, with two exceptions that I can think of (out of dozens of deputies with which I’ve interacted), I get along with the force. We’re on the same side. And, yes, sometimes they do talk down to me. The guy tonight kept asking “What do you want me to do about this? You have no video of her actually using.” Which I understood, given the fact we have no video of her using, and told him so, but HE JUST KEPT ASKING as if I hadn’t just fully agreed that there wasn’t enough proof to arrest or prosecute. But while that rubbed me the wrong way, he was overall decent to us (including the security guard who has the past, that this officer is WELL aware of, as my security guard told me that this particular officer had arrested him multiple times, but tonight, he told that security guard “I’m glad to see you’re doing well”).
The casino world is a trip, y’all. I mean, I’ve dealt with SOME (but not all) of this stuff before at other jobs, including Disneyland and the movie theater, but...never this frequently. It’s truly something else. This is, overall, a decent small town where people either look out for each other or just ignore each other. But...there’s DEFINITELY a criminal underbelly here. Not as bad as L.A. or Chicago, probably on par with where I lived in Washington (there it was mostly shoplifting, though, as far as what I dealt with -- here, nobody can steal a slot machine).
The world is often a strange place.
I mean, I saw Fox News last night at work (in between watching Olympic curling, and educating my security guards about the game [I LOVE curling, and I’d never seen a curling controversy before last night, and I saw TWO of them in different matches] -- the opening ceremony is tonight, but some events have already started) praise Donald Trump’s request for a military parade with tanks and marching soldiers and missiles going down Pennsylvania Avenue for his pleasure, and chastise Kim Jon-Un for holding one in North Korea yesterday, calling the actions of a dictator. Wait...what? The cognitave dissonance is strong with them.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: Shohei Ohtani To The Rescue
Angles have been off the mark lately not to mention they blow up big when they took the field for Thursday’s game. In fact, they scored the lowest runs in any of American League West Teams. Get the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Match Tickets at Bbtix to go cheer them up. The team needs it a lot from the fans.
Based on the rankings of the league position it seems that they have two major setbacks. One The Angels’ third basemen are batting .216 with two home runs. Their designated hitters are batting .228 with two home runs.
Tumblr media
However, they seem to have a solution to the latter problem. Shohei Ohtani is expected to make a comeback after his long rest. And before the Angels return to Anaheim on 17th May, Ohtani will be activated from the injured list as per manager Brad Ausmus. Cheapest Angels of Anaheim Tickets are selling right now get them to go see Ohtani play. Manager Brad Ausmus said there is always a risk to setback however the case seems to suggest Ohtani’s return for now.
Ohtani is the leading AL rookie of the year batting .285 and 22 homers last season. As he was not a full-time hitter till July he was limited to only 306 at-bats. He then received a severe injury to his pitching elbow. But he will be returning as a full-time DH this season as soon as he recovers from the Tommy John Surgery. His return is expected to encourage pitchers to throw a couple of more strikes to Mike Trout. To see this incredible change is laid out in front of you get Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tickets Cheap.
Trout is currently in the lead in the entire league with 30 walks and 7 intentional walks. Trout have been going in and out to cover 37 intentional walks to set an AL record. Nonetheless what they’ll be doing for the third base issue is still not clear. Zack Cozart is out with recurring neck stiffness and his return is not sure as of yet. Tommy La Stella started at third base for the fifth time in six games. He tied with La Stella on Thursday leading the team in batted runs with 19. Being a utility man La Stella already has a career-high 7 home runs in the previous five seasons while trout has six. Discount Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim Tickets are being sold at Bbtix.

San Francisco Giants Blanket
San Francisco Giants Blanket
The San Francisco have a rich and storied history that is filled with many great moments and players, as they have five World Championships to their credit and have had such greats as Carl Hubbell, Bobby Thomson, Wille McCovey, and Juan Marichal.
The San Francisco Giants can arguably say that they have had the two best all around players to ever play the game with the great Willie Mays and the incomparable Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants, Mays belted 660 home runs in his illustrious career and is thought of by many to be the best player to ever play due to his ability to be able to play every aspect of the game at a high level and possessing no weaknesses, as for Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants all hes done is his award winning career is win the National League Most Valuable Player award seven times, win eight gold gloves, twelve silver slugger awards, be voted to the National League all-star team thirteen times, and belt 708 home runs which is only 47 shy of Henry Aaron's all time mark of 755.
In the 1930s the San Francisco Giants would participate in three World Series, winning the 1933 World Championship, with NL MVP Carl Hubbell of the San Francisco Giants leading the way in an upset of the powerful Washington Senators, the San Francisco Giants pitching staff totally thwart the Washington Senators vaunted offense as they allow only eight earned runs all series long en route to a four games to one rout.
It would take until 1951 for the San Francisco Giants to return to prominence, as they qualified for the fall classic again but were denied by New York Yankees, but in 1954 against the Cleveland Indians the San Francisco Giants with Willie Mays of the San Francisco returning from his tour of duty with the US Army rout the heavily favored Clevealand Indians who won 111 games in the regular season, one play perhaps changed the entire complexion of the '54 World Series, as Willie Mays of the San Francisco Giants made perhaps the greatest defensive play ever, tied with the Cleveland Indians a 2 in the eighth inning of Game 1 at the Polo Grounds and two Indians runners on base, the Hall of Fame center fielder made an over-the-shoulder catch of a 460-foot smash off the bat of the Cleveland Indians Vic Wertz, the San Francisco Giants went on to win 5-2 in ten innings, and the series turned into a runaway for the San Francisco Giants.
The San Francisco Giants made a World Series appearance in 1962 but were defeated by the New York Yankees in six games, and would not make the playoffs again until 1971 a year in which the San Francisco Giants did not have a pitcher who won 20 games or batter with a .300 average and were eliminated by the Pittsburgh Pirates, their would be a drought of 16 years before the San Francisco Giants would again make the playoffs, in 1987 they took the St.Louis Cardinals to a seventh game in the National League Championship series before succumbing, in 1989 the San Francisco Giants had a powerhouse squad led by NL MVP Kevin Mitchell who belted 47 HRS and 125 RBI and powered the San Francisco Giants past the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS and into the World Series against Bay Area rival the Oakland Athletics, who boasted a virtual all-star with AL MVP Jose Canseco and slugger Mark McGwire to go along with an award winning pitching staff, the San Francisco Giants were no match for the Oakland Athletics and were beaten in four straight games.
The San Francisco Giants would make the playoffs in 1997 and 2000 but lose in the opening round to the Florida Marlins and New York Mets respectively,in 2002 they would once again qualify for the National League playoffs, this time behind the mighty bat of Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants who batted .370 with 46 home runs, 110 runs batted in, 198 walks, and a on base percentage of .582, the San Francisco Giants defeated the Atlanta Braves three games to two in the divisonal playoffs and went on to defeat the St.Louis Cardinals in the NLCS and earn the right to face the upstart Anaheim Angels.
The 2002 World Series was one for the ages as the San Francisco Giants and Anaheim Angels dueled and battled to a seventh game, where the Anaheim Angels narrowly defeated the San Francisco Giants to win their World Series.
The 2006 San Francisco Giants will be a National League powerhouse with Barry Bonds and pitcher Jason Schmidt returning to health and newcomer OF Steve Finley adding punch to an already potent lineup, the off-season acqusition of P Matt Morris from the St.Louis Cardinals will be a major boost, one that could give the San Francisco Giants the dege in the National League West with many san francisco giants tickets being sold.
Great moment in team history
After trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers by 13 1/2 games on Aug. 11, manager Leo Durocher's troops rattled off 16 straight victories and won 37 of their final 44 regular-season contests to force a tie with Brooklyn. The two teams met in a three game elimination to see who go on to the playoffs, the San Francisco Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers split the first two games setting a winner take all game 3 at the polo grounds, the San Francisco Ginats trailed the Brooklyn Dodgers 4-2 with two on and one out in the ninth inning when Bobby Thomson of the San Francisco Giants stepped to the plate, the rest is history, Thomson drilled an 0-1 pitch off reliever Ralph Branca of the Brooklyn Dodgers to left field and jumped onto home plate to put an exclamation on "The Miracle of Coogan's Bluff," as called by legendary Giants announcer Russ Hodges.

Could Shohei Ohtani be the perfect ballplayer?
Tumblr media
Yahoo Sports ANAHEIM, Calif. – If this indeed is the one, the perfect ballplayer, he comes with delicate features and a once-a-week shave and a charming habit of laughing at his own jokes. He comes not weary, and not suspicious, and not showy, yet sure enough of himself to know there is no sure thing. There are no sure paths. There is, perhaps, only honest effort. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); And so he comes a couple decades after being nudged onto a ball field for the first time, told to go here and here and here, and never knew enough to stop going here or here or here, except maybe to shortstop. He doesn’t go there anymore. And he comes on a 90-degree day in Southern California while wearing a deep blue sport coat of what looked to be velvet, or velvety, and he admitted that when that day arrived he could not know if the weather would demand attire for a snowy Chicago day or a cool Seattle day or a foggy San Francisco day or this, the sun a bit too close for December, the dais filled with beaming men, the plaza and parking lot of Angel Stadium stuffed with people chanting his name. “Hi,” he said into a microphone, “my name is Shohei Ohtani.” By then he’d happily replaced the jacket with a red Angels jersey, the No. 17, and later revealed, “I actually wanted No. 27, but somebody else was wearing that number.” He laughed when he said it. He laughed along with the rest when it was translated. The somebody else, of course, is Mike Trout, the perfect-enough ballplayer whose Angels for most of seven years have matched neither his talent nor his promise. Not that they haven’t at times tried. Albert Pujols came. So too did Josh Hamilton. Others. And then every season ended as did the last, or about so, and the ballclub wandered a course of mediocrity, perking up for four or five at-bats a night from Trout. So it was with more than a little enthusiasm the Angels on Saturday introduced Ohtani, the 23-year-old right-handed pitcher, left-handed batter, uber-player from Japan. He waved, offered a short bow and looked out from behind dark eyes, neither soft nor challenging. More, perhaps, curious at the to-do of it all. A thousand fans set aside a couple hours on their Saturday afternoon. A short line formed at a temporary kiosk that sold season tickets. The doors to the team store were wedged open. More than 200 media members attended, perhaps 150 from Japanese news agencies. When he cracked about his nervousness in speaking before so many, or the chance this would all come on Trout’s wedding day, or his hope to win his first decision as a pitcher and hit his first home run in the same game, dozens in the crowd laughed before his words were translated. The Angels tend to do these things as pep rallies dressed up as press conferences, and so when a question was posed as to whether Ohtani really could be front-end starting pitcher and a middle-of-the-lineup bat, a gruff voice from the crowd spat, “Hell yeah he can do it!”, and that was that. Asked again and again about what he would be and how often and whether he really believes this could be, Ohtani deferred to what he’s always been, a ballplayer, from the time he could remember. If there is a plan, it’s a fluid plan, as to the particulars. Still, there would be no confusion over the Angels’ belief that Ohtani could lead their rotation and also serve as a semi-regular designated hitter. “The guy,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said, “is legitimately a two-way player.” Beyond that, he said, “It doesn’t make any sense to put numbers on it. If you research what he did in Japan, he wasn’t banking 600 plate appearances. As a pitcher he’s got No. 1 starter stuff on many staffs in the game. His stuff is off the charts. So it’ll be a balance. I don’t think anybody expects 33 starts and 650 plate appearances. “With Shohei, obviously there’s a lot on his plate. We will work through it one step at a time and make sure he’s as good a hitter as he can be, along with as good a pitcher as he can be.” General manager Billy Eppler, who estimated he’d seen about 10 of Ohtani’s games in Japan, half as a pitcher and half as a hitter, spoke of the same balance, and the same process of plan-adjustment-new plan-adjustment, of learning the major-league game at the major-league level, with a crowd full of jerseys with OHTANI written across the shoulders. There’s a lot still out there, a lot to come, and Ohtani seemed to say the task, at its most fundamental, has not changed. It’s still baseball. He comes, it would seem, promising to play that, promising to honor the chance and the difficulty of it, as if to confirm at the same time how simple it all could be if you let it be. If he is the one, the perfect ballplayer, he comes with the same curiosity as everyone. Could he be? He shrugged. “I guess I’ll let my play speak for itself,” he said.

'Thor: Ragnarok' thunders a mighty box office weekend
Walt Disney Studios hasn't had a film in theaters in four months, but the might "Thor: Ragnarok" more than made up for the absence. “Thor: Ragnarok” thundered to one of the year’s best box-office debuts with an estimated $121 million domestically, proving again — just as its flexing its muscle — the might of the Walt Disney Co. The robust debut for Marvel’s third “Thor” movie was a welcome shot in the arm for Hollywood and theater owners who have suffered through a terrible October at the box office. “Thor: Ragnarok” also bucked the trend of diminishing returns for sequels. The 2011 “Thor” debuted with $65.7 million; 2013′s “Thor: The Dark World” opened with $85.7 million. “In this business, it’s not often you see the second and third installments in the franchise outpacing the previous issue,” said David Hollis, Disney’s distribution chief. “You don’t expect never-ending returns when it comes to sequels, but it definitely speaks to the quality of the talent at the Marvel Studios team and the way they’re thinking about each film out of the gate.” Directed by Taika Waititi, an eccentric New Zealand filmmaker whose previous three movies played in art houses and collected a grand total of $9.5 million, “Thor: Ragnarok” has taken in an additional $306 million overseas, Disney said on Sunday. The film, starring Chris Hemsworth and Cate Blanchett, cost an estimated $180 million to make, not including at least $100 million in marketing costs.
Interest in “Thor: Ragnarok” has been sizzling since Disney released a teaser trailer in April. In early September, an informal moviegoer poll conducted by Fandango, the online ticket seller, found that Mr. Waititi’s film was the most anticipated offering of the fall — a surprise to Hollywood, which had expected “Justice League,” produced by Warner Bros. and set for Nov. 17 release, to easily dominate. (It was second.)
At first, few had been crying out for another Thor sequel. Marvel’s second stand-alone film about the character, “Thor: The Dark World,” took in $645 million worldwide in 2013. But critics were lukewarm; the production had been marked by behind-the-scenes creative clashes and one star, Natalie Portman, did not want to return.
Instead of taking the usual route with third chapters in successful Hollywood franchises — Who cares about making a good movie? Take the money and run! — Marvel’s movie chief, Kevin Feige, decided to radically retool the Thor series. With input from Mr. Hemsworth, “Thor: Ragnarok” became less self-serious and much more comedic, leaning into the absurdity of the main character, a beefcake god who carries a magic hammer and travels by rainbow. Ms. Blanchett was cast as a campy villain, Hela, who sprouts antlers when she’s mad. And Mr. Waititi was allowed to run wild, backing outer-space action sequences involving a marauding Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) with “Immigrant Song,” Led Zeppelin’s heavy-metal anthem from 1970.
Most critics responded with euphoric reviews. Ticket buyers gave “Thor: Ragnarok” an A grade in CinemaScore exit polls.
The weekend’s other new nationwide release, STX Entertainment’s “A Bad Moms Christmas,” opened with $17 million over the weekend and $21.6 million since opening Wednesday, according to studio estimates Sunday. The holiday-themed sequel, which returns stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn, came in shy of the 2016 original’s $23.8 million opening. But the big story was “Thor,” which also grossed $151.4 million in its second week of international release. The film has, in 10 days, made $427 million worldwide. Disney isn’t alone in being able to roll out such blockbusters but three of the year’s five $100 million-plus releases are theirs. (Disney’s other two are “Beauty and the Beast” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2") The studio has recently, as reported by The Wall Street Journal earlier this week, pushed new terms to theater owners, saying it will demand a 65 percent cut of ticket sales for its upcoming “Star Wars” film “The Last Jedi,” as opposed to the more typical 60 percent. Hollis declined to discuss the studio’s negotiations with theaters but said, “We’re hopeful that our big films will help drive our mutual success.” The Los Angeles Times also said Friday that Disney barred its critic from attending “Thor: Ragnarok” after the paper published an investigative report about Disneyland’s business ties with the city of Anaheim. In a statement Friday, Disney said that the two-piece report showed “a complete disregard for basic journalistic standards.” The issue of revenue splitting is an acute one for theater owners who are already fighting against up-and-down ticket sales and mounting competition from streaming outlets. Disney plans to launch a streaming service in 2019 that will include some film releases. It’s often been feast or famine this year at the box office. August was historically dismal, September swung to record-breaking highs, and October again badly slumped with the lowest overall gross in a decade. The year is running down 4.8 percent off last year’s record pace according to comScore. Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for comScore, expects November will, thanks to “Thor,” Warner Bros.′ “Justice League” and the Disney-Pixar release “Coco,” swing back up. “It’s like a tennis match. We’re up. We’re down. It’s not for the faint of heart,” Dergarabedian said. “The industry has its work cut out for it to make up that nearly 5 percent deficit as we hit the home stretch of what has been an incredibly volatile box-office year.” The huge “Thor” opening also cements the unlikely breakthrough of New Zealand director Taika Waititi, who shepherded the $180 million production to Marvel’s best reviews since 2008′s “Iron Man.” The movie scored a 93 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an “A″ CinemaScore from audiences. Waititi, 42, is a veteran of the cult comedy series “Flight of the Concords” and has previously directed largely offbeat irreverent indies like the deadpan vampire tale “What We Do in the Shadows” and the oddball outlaw comedy “Hunt for the Wilderpeople.” But the makers of some franchise tentpoles have increasingly turned to more irreverent filmmakers to lend their blockbusters a more comic swagger. The results have been mixed. Phil Lord and Chris Miller departed the stand-alone Han Solo film after creative disagreements, as did original “Ant-man” helmer Edgar Wright. “Thor: Ragnarok,” from a screenplay by Eric Pearson, had no such troubles in returning Chris Hemsworth in the titular role along with franchise regular Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Also brought in was Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Cate Blanchett, as the film’s villain, Hela. Second place for the weekend went to the sequel “A Bad Moms Christmas,” which took in about $17 million, for a total since arriving on Wednesday of $21.6 million, according to comScore, which compiles box office data. An R-rated comedy from STXfilms, “A Bad Moms Christmas” received weaker reviews than its series predecessor, “Bad Moms,” which took in $30.6 million over its first five days in summer 2016.
“A Bad Moms Christmas” received a B grade in CinemaScore exit polls. The first movie, which became an unexpected hit, got an A.
STXfilms, a division of STX Entertainment, spent a modest $28 million to produce “A Bad Moms Christmas” and backed its release with marketing stunts, including a takeover of the daytime game show “The Price is Right.” The studio noted that the holiday film took in an additional $6.7 million in partial release overseas, with initial results in countries like Britain and Australia higher than for “Bad Moms.”
Several films opened in limited release, including Greta Gerwig’s coming-of-age tale “Lady Bird,” with Saoirse Ronan. On four screens in New York and Los Angeles, the A24 release drew some of the most packed theaters of the year with a $93,903 per-screen average. Rob Reiner’s “LBJ,” with Woody Harrelson, debuted with $1.1 million in 659 theaters. Richard Linklater’s “Last Flag Flying,” with Bryan Cranston, Steve Carell and Laurence Fishburne, brought in a per-screen average of $10,500 in four theaters. Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to comScore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.
