He's No Doris Gump
My first thought when that All Blacks bomb fell from the sky on top of Caelan Doris, late on, and he dropped it, was of course to be reminded of the helpless anguish of all those looking up into a flaming middle-eastern sky as those Israeli bombs fell on Gaza. If only — shamefully, I actually roared at young Doris, for committing such a heinous act in Ireland’s greatest last 10 minutes of need,…

Ep 2270: Rugby Gets Weird, Hoggwatch Forever, Highs And Lowes - 28/02/22 by The Second Captains Podcast .... Almost everybody in the Aviva stadium, including the players and coaches, were confused by the ruling that meant Italy only had 13 players on the field despite having had only one red card. We try to explain why this happened, why Ireland reacted so badly and why it shouldn't happen ever again. Murph was really considering taking a week off Hoggwatch duty, but an incident in the 38th minute of the first half forced his hand. Plus there's Michael Lowry's pass to James Lowe, why high tackles are the biggest mistake you can make in a game of rugby, and how players should prepare accordingly.

Shaun Edwards wants to effort on France over British & Irish Lions
Former Wales defense coach Shaun Edwards asserted he would focus on France next year for the possibility of being on the British and Irish Lions coaching panel. Rugby lovers can book their South Africa A Vs British And Irish Lions Tickets on discounted prices easily.
The Lions are scheduled to tour South Africa in 2021 for a three-game test series in July and August, while head coach Warren Gatland is finalizing his backroom staff.
Edwards already has the experience of being with the Lions as a defensive coach when they last traveled to South Africa in 2009 with head coach Sir Ian McGeechan, but when Gatland took over, he opted for Andy Farrell as a defensive coach on the road. 2013 and 2017 by Australia and New Zealand respectively.
He has also worked with Gatland for Wales, where he was a defensive coach since 2008 and decided to part ways after the 2019 World Cup, after which he was assigned a similar role with France. Rugby lovers can book their Springboks Vs British And Irish Lions Tickets on discounted prices easily.
Shaun Edwards
“The French Federation has shown a lot of confidence in me,” Edwards said.
They gave me a four and a half year contract. When I signed the contract, I knew the Lions would be off the radar. I know from personal experience that Lions have the highest-profile of all. Not only is he supported by three million people in Wales, but he is also fully supported by England, Ireland, and Scotland.
“Being in France makes it different. They probably don’t understand how prestigious it is to be selected for the Lions, but that’s beside the point. I’m not expecting a phone call.”

Ep 2194: Ireland Dream Big, Lavanini At Large, MOTM Carbery, French Class - 22/11/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... Ireland weren't quite as good as they were against NZ but it was another impressive display from a team hit by a number of injuries. We discuss the confident happy vibes coming from the camp, MOTM Joey Carbery, Peter O'Mahony's red card diatribe and the depth we now have in certain positions. Plus there's French class, Lavanini at large and Murph rattles Donal Lenihan.

Ep 2182: Ireland Play Total Rugby, Samurai Sexton, Sweet N' Lowe - 08/11/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... This was one of the most aesthetically pleasing Ireland performances of all time, and even allowing for the horrendous performance by Japan, Ireland look like a side who are committed to evolving their style of play. We discuss Jamison Gibson Park's new found self belief, Tadhg Furlong the outhalf, ignoring hat trick scoring wingers for Man of The Match awards, Sweet N Lowe, and Samurai Sexton.

Ep 2165: URC Big On TV, Ireland's Form 9 and 10, Berlin Memories - 18/10/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... The United Rugby Championship is up and running, and judging by some press releases Eoin has seen, it's off to a flyer. We note the increased profile terrestrial television has given it, but there are also some things that might need to change in Irish rugby if the only domestic league available to us is to succeed, and whether that might end up being a pretty good result for us. We thank our Berlin super-fans one more time for our week over there with thanks to Aer Lingus, and there's also Connacht's grievances over refereeing decisions which might have gone another way in Thomond Park on Saturday evening.

Ep 1995: Ireland Outwit England, Heroic Henshaw, Wales' Death Match, Hoggwatch - 22/03/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... After two and a half years Ireland finally got the performance and the win that could see them back in the big time. Did we miss the signs or did this come out of nowhere? Would it ever have happened without Henshaw's manic intensity at the start? Was the Earls try proof that Farrell and Mike Catt had the right plan all along but just needed some polish? We chat to Shane Horgan and Andrew Trimble about using Earls more often, Sexton and Murray's return to top form, red card drama, French magnificence and if Wales will still win the championship. Fans make the Six Nations... so how come we've just had possibly the most entertaining tournament in living memory?! Ken reckons everyone's happy, and Stuart Hogg reckons we saw the 'real' Scotland on Saturday, conveniently ignoring that pretty much everything that has happened in the last 5 weeks has been 100% pure distilled Scotland rugby.

No To Rabonas, Alpha Andy Farrell, Oisin McConville On The Need For GAA's Return In The North by The Second Captains Podcast .... Your World Service taster menu is hereby served. After his initial show of disgust on Monday at Erik Lamela's goal in the North London derby, Ken continued to push his anti-rabona agenda during the week. On St Patrick's Day, Oisin McConville joined us to chat about cultural identity and the need for the GAA to allow people to get back training in Northern Ireland even if the rest of the island has to wait. And ahead of Ireland-England in the Six Nations this Saturday, Paul Grayson and Shane Horgan talked Ireland's attack and why Mike Catt may not be getting as much of a say behind closed doors as he'd like. Ep 1990: Ireland Win Ugly, France Leave Beautiful Corpse - 15/03/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... France and England put together arguably the most high quality 40 minutes of rugby in 6 Nations history and while England came out on top, the question is how do we make rugby look like that more often? We talk to Shane Horgan and Andrew Trimble about Ireland's ice cold professionalism in the last 5 minutes, their brilliant pack, why the backs look like strangers and if defence is now our biggest problem. Murph gives his latest HoggWatch and Eoin asks Murph if he would prefer to tackle Tadhg Furlong or Mathieu Jalibert. Plus there's Marvellous Marvin Hagler, Murray Walker and wings in space.

Ep 1978: Galthie's Bubble, French Waffle, Welsh Providence, Ireland's Magic Eight - 01/03/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... You make your own luck in sport, unless you're the Welsh rugby team, who on Saturday had a lot of ref and TMO decisions go their way. So is it just that everything always comes up Wales, or are they a doughty, tough, mentally resilient and increasingly skillful side that deserves the Triple Crown and the now inevitable Grand Slam? We talk to Gerry Thornley and Shane Horgan about the series of Covid breaches in French rugby, if Fabien Galthie will get the sack, and what the French Government, the French rugby union and 6N should do about this. We ask if Ireland can continue to offload against the good teams, if Andy Farrell, with Kelleher, Furlong, Kilcoyne, Henderson, Ryan, Beirne, Connors and Stander, has found his best set of forwards for the Scotland and England games. Plus there's Rees Zammit's poker face and rugby analysis via Kevin Costner and Lewis Dunk.

Ep 1965: Guts But No Guile, No Answers At Halfback, Farrell Feels the Heat, Hogglebox - 15/02/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... Ireland were gutsy and got close on the scoreline against France but lacked any real creativity in attack, even when against 14 men. Where does Andy Farrell go from here, and is his position as head coach now under pressure? We talk to Shane Horgan and Andrew Trimble about our philosophy in attack, what changes Farrell should make for the Italy game, if we are any closer to finding out who our best halfbacks are, the impact made by Paul O'Connell and the non-impact from Mike Catt, and if this Scottish generation are already running out of time to seize a golden opportunity. Plus there's Murph on his tartan certainty, more HoggWatch and Grammar Corner.

Ep 1939: Paulie Enters, Duffer Departs, Sports Calendar Shredded - 11/01/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... Stephen Kenny has had a highly eventful time as Ireland manager with a penalty playoff loss, a pandemic, a Covid close contacts crisis, a video storm, 8 games without a win and now he has lost his assistant coach Damien Duff. Ken journalist is on the case, and he has some strong leads (1.00). Paul O'Connell is maybe Ireland's best-ever forward, one of our best ever captains, a Lions captain, but besides a curtailed spell in Paris and some short stints in Ireland, he hasn't got a very extensive coaching CV. We ask Shane Horgan and Gerry Thornley to predict how good he will be, and why (20.30). Plus there's Roy Keane football manager, mighty Leinster, Connacht butchering a 15 on 13 overlap and Eoin McDevitt's shredded sports calendar.
