also known as the Andean bear, these are called spectacled because their pattern makes it look like they have glasses on! spectacles!! woah! these markings are different on every bear, and may not always look like glasses, but they're there!!

spectacled bears are the Only bears native to South America where they live in/near the Andes mountains! hence andean bear! they are mostly herbivorous, and rarely, if ever, eat meat!

fun fact, paddington the bear is a spectacled bear! he's from Peru!!
