Definitely a work in progress, but after making Moms yesterday, I poked around at the idea of what the Dads may look like. I did not reference any of my own writing or notes, just fiddled around with appearances. They may yet (probably will) change.
Iron Summer is a big guy, quiet and careful because of that. He just wants to farm and live as the elementals say to, and enjoys being a grandfather to his large, unruly brood. Dark most definitely measures men she’s interested in against her father’s example.
Khell the Clanless was a successful Coliseum fighter several years ago, a pugilist of great speed and skill, winning the dancer C’leiha’s attention and heart. Khell was injured in a bout and forced to retire, walking with a limp and on bad days needing a cane. He fell among the rioting crowds during the Calamity when C’oretta was a very young adolescent.
Corran Striker (bottom left) I fiddled with by taking an Ardbert model and adjusting his hair, skin, and eye colors a little bit, as well as adding a mustache and maxing his height. Corran fell for Emelia, a wandering Thavnairian trader and convinced her to stay in his village--but tried his best to protect her and their children from the war. Aeryn has no idea her birth father was a heretic, and the dragon that tore apart their home and was killed by then-Azure Dragoon Ser Alberic was actually Corran. Aeryn remembers mostly favorable impressions of her birth father, and stories Emelia and Zaine told her; she was five years old.
Tanzel (bottom right) is Aeryn’s stepfather, part of the same subculture her mother Emelia comes from. Tanzel and Emelia were actually childhood friends whose adult lives went in different directions, until she suddenly returned from years abroad with two young children and a broken heart. Tanzel had lost his own wife, left with children of his own to look after. Eventually the pair married and merged their families. It took Aeryn time to warm up to Tanzel; she liked him, but was very shy as a child. He’s the one she calls Papa and who she thinks of first when people ask about her father. He’s still in Thavnair, though mostly stays home rather than travel the trade routes across the island these days, leaving that to his children and grandchildren.
