Okay does anyone else get like a weird potentially racist vibe from the Beastlings? Or am I just being uptight?
#Octopath Traveler#like… Ochette being the one dark skinned protag coming from a race of dark-skinned half-animals#Which indigenous people were often compared to#Combined with how their struggles with colonizers are VERY similar to those of indigenous people#And then the fact they’re seen as ‘being primitive’ by nearly everyone on the continent#AND TEMENOS’S TRAVEL BANTER AT THE END OF OCHETTE’S CH4#Talking about how he can’t wait to teach them to speak as if they don’t CANONICALLY have a language#yeah! That little thing left off as just a side quest#the beastlings do have an actual language#but instead we’re subject to seeing the beastlings as only able to string few words together for the ENTIRETY of the game#yeah… just a little suspish is all.#Octopath Traveler 2#Ochette
