Is she riding around on a motorcycle in the sunset like Hyde?? 😂

Thank you so much for the ask! It's a question I've kinda been thinking about a little more lately.

Okay so here's the thing, when I first went to my first taping That '90s Show, my eyes were roaming everywhere, especially when I walked in, I wanted to catch a glimpse of anything and everything, but they were also rushing us to our seats. Well on the way to our seats we walked by the monitors of I guess a computer that had some of the scene photos from the previous episode. I caught a glance of the screen and saw Kitty sitting at the table with a young blonde woman-i was sure this was Laurie. Thought Christina Moore was back or they had recasted again. So I was hopeful and thought we'd be getting Laurie in the reboot.

Months pass and I go to the second taping which was the finale of the season and I meet the character of Sherri. Quickly I realized that it was Sherri that was sitting in the kitchen with Kitty in the photo I had seen not Laurie.

The series came out and Red's quick mention of Laurie was not lost on me-I was happy they had at least acknowledged her existence. Before Red's mention I had even thought that maybe Laurie was the reason behind Red's new vegetable garden hobby that she had maybe taken up gardening and helped him start it during her last visit or maybe she owned a plant shop somewhere out there. I liked that thought and I've always hoped Laurie would have a happy ending.

But then I rewatch that scene where Red talks to Kitty before her job interview, it's so sweet I rewatch all the time, and it starts to strike me odd that Red doesn't even say Laurie's name and I wonder if maybe it's too painful for him...

I have a fic planned that takes a darker look at the time between That '70s Show and That '90s Show and Laurie's got a pretty important role in it.

I would love if the series gave Laurie a happy ending and in that way honored Lisa Robin Kelly's memory, just a quick mention of her living in Canada with a successful tanning business or something. That seems to fit the tone of the show more but I would not oppose to seeing Red and/or Kitty having a more serious moment where they talk about Laurie and what happened to her. I've seen both Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp in dramatic role, they will break your heart but the moments are SOO good!

Side note Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp did mention the character of Laurie in interviews for the show, nothing major but it just told me that they haven't forgotten the character and I have a feeling we just didn't have enough time in season 1 to find out about her but we might in season 2. :D
