That behold a square post annoys me cause it ignores half the definition of a square and if you're going to ignore that much of it then all rectangles are squares too, you're not clever for figuring out a way around putting down wrong answers by simply turning in a blank test. This isn't an "I guess" this is a "See me after class you have misunderstood the concept"

#If you cut out enough of the formal definition anything can be anything!#Basically they're taking the 'is a taco a sandwich' question which is barely interesting #And taking it to a realm with formal rules where being wrong about them is extremely easy #Basically what I'm trying to say is that post is on the wrong side of XKCD 169 #That's not a parallelogram is the obvious counterpoint anyone who knows what a square is would make #And since all squares are parallelograms we have already lost the plot #It's just coming up with a bad definition and showing that your definition is bad #Mostly I'm annoyed at how much they think they did something #When all they did was fuck up #Not a single mathematician or other math enthusiast could look at that and go 'dang they got us'#instead of 'dang they really thought they had something huh'
