Not romani, romany. There's a slight difference like how there's a difference between US English and UK English.

Romany Gypsies/Romanichal have lived in the UK since the 1600s but Roma people are usually newer immigrants. The language which English, Welsh (Kale) and Scottish Gypsies is also subtly different based on local development, never mind local spellings. There's overlap but most people don't know that much about Travelling people of the British Isles.
