Voltron was such a good show at first, it was literally one of my favourites. A part of me always wonders what would come of it if we didn't have all the fucking shipping drama because 1. Romance was not even a central plot element of this show about GIANT ROBOTS IN SPACE, 2. The character dynamics would have been so much better handled if there wasn't constant stress over people interpreting minor interactions as shipping-fuel. Like, if none of the big drama happened, we'd probably end up with a wonderful 10/10 show, but instead we got a show that starts off as 10/10 but ends up as 3/10 with an ending that makes me so fucking angry it's unbelievable.

#The ending is so bad because let's say you were not a part of the fandom at all and you just watched the show #Tell me why out of NOWHERE in the middle of the climax right when things are building up and the stakes are super high #We have characters getting ready for a date as if it's the most important thing in the world????#And also like not everything has to be about romance #I hate when we insert romance into media clearly designed to not have it #Like what's wrong with having a show that's just about friendship and found family and fun things?#And the fact that yeah guys if nothing happened drama wise you would have gotten that one ship you wanted as cannon bothers me so much #Because it would have been more of a natural progression than whatever the fuck happened #And lance got butchered so hard in the last season and he was my favourite character helppppp #Anyways #Voltron #voltron legendary defender #VLD #Fandom #Shipping annoys me sometimes
