I understand a lot of your videos on YouTube are about tumblr phenomena, tumblr culture, literally All The Weird Shit That Goes On Here, but as I’m currently scrolling through your YT channel, all I’m seeing is videos of Weird (comical) and Strange (comical) things on Tumblr, there’s nothing really Serious. You only talk about the Weird and Funny.

I don’t see any videos about the erasure of the Ferguson tag on tumblr, which is a huge issue that you haven’t covered in favor of more Entertaining ones.

I’m saying, you make Funny Haha content on your YouTube channel.

So it doesn’t really make sense for you to come running to the scene when a trans woman gets her blog forcefully deactivated by the current tumblr CEO, then make another blog, only for that one to get forcefully deactivated as well. She was also misgendered by the CEO, and then he follows her to Twitter and harasses her. Oh and now anyone who actually stands up for her on this hellsite ends up deactivated too. All when this JUST HAPPENED. (The content you make almost always covers past tumblr happenings and/or phenomena, not current events).

So really, none of this situation fits your MO at all. And since you make money off of your videos through ads and sponsorships, this behavior of you instantly wanting to make a video off of this trans woman being bullied off of a site she’s been on for YEARS (this site was her home too, not just yours), this all comes off as extremely exploitative.

But yeah, chalk this up as another Condescending Essay that you can ignore to make yourself believe you’re “in the right” or whatever.

If Rita/Predstrogen is uncomfortable with a video being made about the recent shitshow over her banning and everything it exposed about tumblr then I won’t make one. Full stop. I am not going to do that if it would make things worse for her.

I don’t have twitter so I wasn’t aware of her comments about it until today.

The amount of you in my inbox either treating me like I’ve already been cancelled for making a distasteful drama video about this OR writing me massive condescending essays about why exploiting trans womens’ struggles is wrong is INSANE.

I would never try to tell this story without a lot of input from her and others effected. And if they don’t want a video made at all then I’m not going to do it.
