work has been craaaazy this week so any progress i am making is slow, but here's a little something i managed to crank out for paint sex fic, hopefully the actual sex comes soon 😂

Eddie hums and knocks his temple against Buck’s shoulder before letting it rest there once again. “Alright. Next.” An inquisitive noise rumbles in the back of Buck’s throat, sounding like it got caught on the way out and is sticking against Buck’s flesh. “That’s it? You’re not gonna fight me on it?” “Like the way you aggressively fought for eggplant?” “Hey! I wasn’t aggressive.” Even though Eddie can’t see it, he knows Buck is pouting. He can practically hear it take shape as the last word leaves Buck’s mouth, its sound a little more high-pitched than the others, curving upwards and launching into the air quickly.  A smile breaks across Eddie’s face and he hides it in Buck’s shoulder, which really isn’t very effective because he knows Buck will feel it, but he wants him to, because he knows Buck loves the shape and color and feel of Eddie’s smile no matter the situation, and he deserves to have it pressed into his body, to be marked with the evidence of all the good things that live inside of Eddie because of him.  “Passionate then,” Eddie acquiesces.

something in me BROKE when fifteen looked at fourteen and said, “hey, I’ve got you. I’m here. Come here.” before that hug??? Because LISTEN. That wasn’t a normal hug.

That was a desperate “I’ve got someone who understands and maybe they’ll help me put myself back together because they know how broken I am” hug

And I CRIED

The Doctor’s thing about why they travel with companions is so they don’t have to be alone. Being alone means memories. Being alone means having to face the hundreds upon hundreds of years of trauma they’ve never given themselves the opportunity to.

And Fourteen is a culmination of everything 9-13 has to endure, and it SHOWS. It shows in his face every time a companion who died or disappeared is mentioned. Amy. Rose. Clara. Bill. All these ordinary people who got turned into weapons in the name of The Doctor, and they have NEVER stopped blaming themselves despite it never being their fault to begin with.

Fourteen’s vulnerability is so drastically different from 9-13 because throughout all three specials, he feels it. He feels it and it hurts and he wants it to stop.

And just briefly, when his older healed self says, “come here. I’m here.” It DOES.

AND THEN HE GETS A FAMILY. HE’S NOT ALONE ANYMORE.

“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.”

Something I love about confronting Cazador is how he obviously never processes that Astarion has friends until it's too late.

Petras and Dalyria must have mentioned that Astarion wasn't alone when they met him, but when you read Cazador's journal? He's 100% fixated on Astarion. How Astarion stood in the sun, how Astarion was willing and able to disobey him. And when Astarion shows up, Cazador barely acknowledges the party at all - and sure, that's partly because this is Astarion's moment in the narrative, but Cazador doesn't so much as ask why these random strangers are there! They're not part of his plans, so they don't exist.

And then they immediately save his errant spawn from the ritual and start beating his ass.

Just. What must have been going through Cazador's head when that fight starting turning against him? 'Is that... the Blade of Frontiers? Why is a monster hunter - and is that a cleric? - helping a vampire spawn? An undead? Ah, but they must be treating it as a necessary evil to have a chance to slay me, of course - hold on, why is the cleric healing Astarion? Why does that wizard keep Counterspelling everything I'm casting at Astarion, why waste the spells when I'm not even targeting him? Did... did that druid just cast Daylight on Astarion's weapons? And that brute of a tiefling - that's not just disgust in her eye when she looks at me, it's fury - and she keeps putting herself in front of Astarion, why in the hells would she - she's running right at me- '

I hope that one of the last things Cazador ever knew was the choking realisation that Astarion didn't just come back strong, or free. Astarion came back loved.

No. This is Tatooine, talking to yourself is hardly the weirdest thing they've seen. Ben Kenobi, however, keeps having full on fucking screaming rows with thin air and seemingly gets replies back, which is decidedly a step up.

(They've managed to piece together that a major point of contention is the acquisition and raising of a child? Clearly Ben is a wizard that had a bitter divorce with a desert spirit and is working through a custody dispute)
