Alright I think we can use some extra help Adagio said.

SHUT UP WE’RE NOT LOVEBIRDS Adagio and Theodore yelled blushing.
Yes you are girl Veneer said laughing.
I will kick you if you guys don’t shut up Adagio growled.
Alvin and Brittany just went towards Aria and Sonata.
Hi Brittany Sonata said smiling.
Hi Brittany said letting out a sigh.
Hey A-Alvin Aria said blushing.
Hi Alvin said putting his hands on his hoodie pocket.
How’s your day going? Aria asked.
It’s going fine I guess Alvin replied.
That’s Aria’s crush? Floyd asked.
Yes Adagio said smirking.
Shut up Adagio Aria said getting really annoyed.

Anatomy practice with my crew in swimwear!! 🥺 I still have improvements to make in the way of proportions and character diversity, but here's where I stand for now!
In order from tallest to shortest: Ilamine (6'7), Pembroke (5'11), Theodore (5'9), Aria (5'8), Puff (5'4), Cassie (5'0)
Comments (mostly for myself) that I can't jam into the tags without breaking this post:
I tend to draw my characters skinny by default. This is my attempt to remedy that
Pembroke and Aria are my little twigs no matter what, though (stated in canon; consistent trait throughout all their drawings)
Aria also slouches just a little bit... Tries to make herself smaller
Ilamine has always been muscular and fat and noticeably rectangular <== Maintaining that silhouette is something I want to be more consistent with
Overall, I'd like to diversify my silhouettes as these characters all share the same up-and-down rectangular build. I'll work on different widths of shoulders, waists, and hips in the future for sure
I've imagined Theo on the softer side for years and I'm very happy with how I represent that now
Puff is dense as all fuck which I second-guess because she is a monk. To bet honest, I gave her this body type in this drawing to experiment with diversity. Maybe I'll push her more onto the lithe side for future art because I don't see her as the type to build bulky muscle.
In the future, I might make Cassie just a bit chubbier than this so she's more distinguishable from Aria and because it works for her character

HISTORY:
Growing up, Aria was always a mama's girl. She followed her mother around everywhere, wanting to do exactly what she was. Despite how much her mother tried to shield the children from the truth about their parents' marriage, Aria knew that something wasn't quite right. They didn't act like the other parents in school. But she didn't much care as long as her mother was safe and happy.
Aria's life fell apart when she was 11 and she was sent to live with her Aunt Sierra in New Orleans under the guise that her mother was "sick". Aria didn't go without a fight, not wanting to leave her mothers side, especially if she was sick. But she was promised that Nic would come back once she got better.
This started Aria's rebellious phase. She thought that if she got in enough trouble, her mom would have to come back for her. That thought only last a few months until she learned of her mother's passing. Since that day, Aria became a shell of the happy child that she once was. Growing up along side her cousin Nate, the two bonded and began getting into trouble together, causing problems wherever they went.
Aria didn't build close connections with too many people throughout her life. The only super close connection that she had as a child was with her mother and that was ripped away from her. The few connections she made throughout her life, she will protect them with everything she has, unwilling to go through the pain she felt at such a young age again.
— ☆ — ONE YEAR LATER — ☆ —
Aria has been working on a lot of healing…. in her own way. She couldn’t deny her feelings for Blossom any longer, but she couldn’t bring herself to fully commit when she was angry all the time at everyone around her. That wasn’t fair to the little ball of personal sunshine she had.
Aria has been slowly working toward a relationship with Ryker. Finding out that he was her dad so late in life and then not telling him until after his resurrection, she can’t just fall right into a father/daughter relationship. Especially after how the last parent/daughter relationships had ended and the fact that he already died once. But she is trying. And that’s the most important part.
Aria has moved on from her job at Viper. But her skills have not gone to waste. She is now the bar manager at Rooftop Gardens, the rooftop bar in the city. She fell in love with the chill vibes. She obviously still gets the occasional creepy guy, but it is nice not to get ogled every chance they get.
The start to Aria and Blossom’s relationship was far from conventional. There was no big to do. The pair simply continued on as they were, growing closer with each day. Until one day in conversation, Aria referred to Blossom as her girlfriend. And the rest is history.
She honestly has never been happier. But, while Blossom’s perkiness and optimism has rubbed off, her “glass half empty” personality is still there and a small part of her is waiting for the shoe to drop.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Aria's weary sigh when Verda comes in to ask for some files demands their attention.
Exhaustion blankets her very being like a grim fog; they've all noticed the dark grey circles under her eyes - their usual deep brown far duller than it was just a few short months ago - and the near concerning pallor to her skin - despite the heat that, Tina has informed them, usually makes her tan rather deeply. Even her usual sharp wit has been lacking; the sarcasm which comes so easily to her being bitten out in more snide asides than light hearted quips. She's been so drained lately, and it's only becoming more and more obvious - with or without supernatural senses.
Mason had even lit a cigarette in her office with no comment... with no reaction from her at all; he smokes it in the corner, staying close to the window and observing her like they all are.
She's only just handed off the files to Verda when he points out the new arrival at the front desk. Aria's brow furrows at the sight of the diminutive old lady, a worried 'Mrs McCarthy?' slipping out under her breath, before she quickly excuses herself. Tina gives each of the vampires a look as the door closes, pointedly making sure they're aware that she's aware they have the capability to eavesdrop. They make a valiant show of not listening until Verda's sudden laugh draws their focus.
"I think I have a pretty good idea what she wanted," he chuckles.
The five of them look at him, following his line of sight out the office window to Aria who's begun to rock back and forth on her feet as she cheerily waves off Mrs McCarthy with a smile. Tina laughs much like Verda had at the sight, leaving the team relieved, if not remarkably confused, that there doesn't seem to be any problem to be solved. Aria's smile seems to only grow as she returns to the office, blooming into a winsome beam that brightens her face in a way they've never seen.
"She's going on holiday!" She shrieks as soon as the door closes behind her, practically vibrating as she bounces on the spot. "For a whole week!"
Aria's sudden excited spin leaves the team befuddled. Tina and Verda just share an amused look at her liveliness before he excuses himself with a soft 'good luck'. Aria barely notices his exit, continuing to twirl around her office in glee. Tina shakes her head with a smile of her own, turning to give the men an explanation.
"Whenever Mrs M. goes away, Aria housesits for her."
Felix addresses Aria directly, clearly as confused as the rest of them as to how that explained her utter elation.
"It's that nice of a house, huh?" he asks.
Aria startles at the question, stopping dead in her tracks as she looks at them with wide-eyes - as if she only just remembered their existence. She awkwardly tucks a strand of hair behind her ear; Adam forces himself to ignore the pang in his chest at her sheepishness, to brush aside the ache that the sight of her pushing down her excitement because of them and their presence elicits.
"Oh, well, yeah," she confirms. "It's an amazing house; fabulous kitchen, comfy bed-" her voice trails off, leaving the list she started unfinished to stifle a squeal of excitement as she begins to bounce again, the energy so desperate to escape "- and Theodore~!"
Aria sings the name with a reverent joy the team has never heard. Adam tenses at the level of adoration she's displaying for this unknown man; Tina, however, only laughs, apparently well used to this sort of thing - much to Unit Bravo's confusion.
"Honestly, I don't understand why you don't just adopt yourself."
The word adopt greatly increases the confusion in the room, but Aria rolls her eyes at the suggestion, the light that's returned to them not dimming a bit.
"Tina, I barely have enough time for Sam as it is. Never mind adding another into the mix. I simply have to be content with the time I can steal away with Theodore~." The name is once more sung, ending with a gleeful giggle and a wistful sigh. "Oh, if only I could spend eternity with him in my arms."
The team shares a baffled look as Aria happily hums and spins around, completely bemused by this strange woman who has taken their detective's place.
"You know," Tina pipes up, affection coating her amusement. "Sometimes I really don't know which you're worse with... horses or cats."
The immediate realisation of just exactly who, or what, Theodore is hits Nate first, with the others following not far behind.
Aria dramatically holds up her left hand before responding. "Regal, majestic darlings-" she brings her right hand up in a mirror of her left, miming the weighing of the two adorable options "-or precious, fluffy babies." An abrupt squeal of delight fills the air. "Oh, I love them both. Especially my Theodore~ with his small, cute, pink nose, white toes and-" She cuts herself off with yet another squeal, though this time Nate affectionately chuckles along with Tina.
"He sounds adorable, Aria."
She makes a happy hum of agreement before gasping, a most important thought clearly occurring to her.
"I have pictures!"
They all watch as she rushes to the desk, throwing herself over it to root through the drawer where she keeps her phone. Tina barely attempts to stifle a giggle, but the team are left astonished.
"Okay, seriously, who the fuck is she?"
Felix snickers at Mason's bewildered exclamation; Nate and Adam throw them both a disapproving look. Tina just scoffs at them, jokingly rolling her eyes while placing her hands on her hips to tease -
"Geez, have you guys just never seen her happy before?"
The temperature immediately drops, the room suddenly cold; all traces of playfulness flee from Tina as the solemn realisation that 'No. They never have seen her this happy before...' sinks in for them all.
The sudden thought that they're no longer sure they've ever actually seen her happy at all is a heavy weight none of them can fully ignore.
Before Tina can actually say anything, Aria lets out a trill of triumph across the room - finally having located her phone. No one mentions that she could have found it much easier if she had actually walked around to the other side of the desk. Aria scrolls through her phone, humming happily as she makes a beeline to Mason. He leans back slightly, arms crossed and brow furrowed, as she eagerly shoves the phone up in front of him to show off one of her photos.
"Adorable, right?!"
The overwhelming enthusiasm in her voice gives him pause, biting back any possible snarky response he could have given. The team watch from the sidelines as he actually takes in the photo of her cradling a fluffy grey and white cat with a bright smile.
"Yeah" He confirms gruffly, watching the same brightness in the photo glow in her delighted expression at his agreement. "Adorable."
His brow furrows further at her pleased hum, his teeth clenching around his cigarette as watches her with a sullen contemplation when she instantly turns to show Felix the photo too. Felix happily mirrors her energy with a smile of his own, paying no heed to the sympathetic look Tina throws at them all, the underlying pity in her gaze something none of them want to acknowledge.
The hand Nate places on Adam's shoulder as they watch Aria excitedly show off her 'Theodore Gallery' to the others is warm and yet not comforting in the slightest. Adam clenches his fist, forcibly swallowing the envy and desire her smile ignites within him. Seeing her so energized, so carefree, so happy... It only further strengthens the thoughts he knows to be true. That happiness she's never shown them before doesn't belong to himthem. She doesn't belong to them.
~~~*~~~*~~~
Thank you very much if you've made it this far! I hope it wasn't too much of a chore! Thank you, truly, for your time 💕

Tumblr media
It was that time of the year again.
However, this year was extra special. Yes, I said the same to Levi last year, and I told him that last year was very memorable. Yet, this year, I find myself repeating the same thing again.
Thrice a year, our house would be full of guests and loud laughter; Chinese New Year¹, Mid Autumn Festival², and Christmas eve. Levi’s friends obviously don’t celebrate Chinese New Year and Mid Autumn Festival, yet they still make it every single year without fail, enjoying the yearly hotpot during Chinese New Year and eating mooncakes with us during Mid Autumn.
On Christmas eve every year, we would host a Christmas dinner, partly to spend Christmas together, and also celebrate Levi’s birthday. This year, however, instead of us doing all the cooking, we’re doing a potluck instead. Levi was in the kitchen preparing the roast beef and the other dishes while I went to arrange the cutlery with a dinner set that we only use during this time of the year.
As usual, Erwin and Mia arrived first with their dishes in tow along with their beautiful children. Erwin brought over homemade mulled wine made by his mother, and Mia baked many amazing pastries for us for dessert. Our three dogs excitedly ran to them and begged for head scratches while Erwin and Mia's children followed behind their parents.
“Aww, who are these handsome boys?” I cooed as Theodore, the oldest, and Isaac, the younger brother, came forward to greet me after removing their shoes.
“Merry Christmas Aunty Rei!” The both of them called out in harmony. Theodore was the carbon copy of Erwin. He has his hair and his striking blue eyes. Isaac on the other hand was a perfect mix of Erwin and Mia. He has his mum’s face but his dad’s eyes.
“Good boys. Uncle Levi’s in the kitchen.” I gestured to the kitchen and they ran in. I turned my attention to the toddler in the pram.
“And hello there little Aria!” I reached my finger out and Aria gently grabbed it, giving me a toothless grin. She’s the youngest among their children, barely a year old.
“Good to see you, Rei! Your skin looks fantastic.” Mia hugged me tightly as Erwin went to the kitchen to say hi to Levi.
“Oh, really?” I blushed, hand touching my cheek. “Maybe because I’ve changed my moisturiser.” I giggled as I said hi to Erwin as well.
“Jia Ling, say hi to Uncle Erwin and Aunty Mia!” I called out in Mandarin, and within seconds, a little pink figure with two low pigtails zoomed out of her room and straight into Erwin’s arms.
“Hello, Renée, you look lovely today.” Erwin laughed while Mia stroked her cheek.
“Uncle Erwin! Aunty Mia! Merry Christmas!” Renée, our five-year-old daughter cheerfully replied. Her grey eyes went straight to the paper bag in Mia’s hand, eyeing the contents.
“Merry Christmas little one, I hope you like this gift from Uncle Erwin and I!” Renée took the bag with a loud ‘merci beaucoup!’ before asking to be let down.
“Where’s Theodore gege³ and Isaac?” She questioned, her head turning around everywhere. I told her that they were in the kitchen with Levi and she ran there. I chuckled and turned to Mia again while Erwin pushed the pram to our living room.
“Want to say hi to the twins?” Mia nodded excitedly and I led her to the master bedroom. The twins were up and crawling around in their cots.
“I think I am a really bad friend because till now, I can’t tell which twin is which,” Mia commented as she smiled at the twins.
“The one you’re carrying is Pierre, the older one. And then,” I gestured to the white giggling bundle in my arms, “this one’s Léon. You can tell the difference if you stare hard enough.” I brought Leon closer to Mia and she stared hard for a few moments.
“Hmm…” Mia thought hard with a frown appearing. “Oh, I think I see it! Léon has a mole near his mouth like you.” I nodded as we exited the room with the twins in our arms.
“You’re right! Leon has the same mole as I do. Also, Pierre has Levi’s eye shape while Léon has mine.” We let the twins down on the carpet in the living room where Erwin was trying to coax a crying Aria. It turned out that Aria peed in her diapers. Mia quickly brought out a new diaper and towel from her bag while Erwin swiftly removed the soiled one and wiped Aria clean. Soon, Aria was giggling again and joining the twins crawling around the dogs.
“Erwin, you’re so much better at changing diapers than Levi,” I said, bringing out two glasses of water for the Smiths. Erwin shook his hand.
“It’s nothing. It took me a while to grasp the art of diaper changing too.” We all laughed as Renée ran out of her room, telling me to call her when dinner’s ready because she’s going to go read with Theodore and Isaac.
“Renée talks about Theo too often sometimes,” I commented while drinking some water. Erwin then joked and said that if Theodore and Renée hang out more, they’re going to fall in love and get married in the future.
“I’m not letting my daughter marry your son, Eyebrows.” Levi frowned, bringing out the roast beef. “I don’t want to be your in-laws.” I smacked Levi’s butt and told him to be nice. Levi rolled his eyes as I followed him back to the kitchen, bringing out the dishes.
“Are you doing okay?” Levi hugged me from behind as I sliced some garlic bread.
“I’m fine, Levi. Don’t worry.” I turned to leave a soft peck on his cheek. “I’ll let you know if I’m feeling sick, okay?” I placed the bread in a basket and Levi turned me around, trapping me between him and the counter.
“Remember, don’t drink the wine Erwin brought. Drink this cranberry juice instead,” Levi placed a bottle of cranberry juice on the counter. “Don’t eat too much of the fried food that Nanaba is bringing. Also, don’t touch the cheese board—”
“Levi! Relax, amour.” I pat his cheek, pinching it afterwards. “Don’t worry so much, okay? Besides, it’s not the first time anyway. Just chill and enjoy your birthday celebration, hmm?” Kissing his lips, I brought the garlic bread out with Levi tailing behind me.
As the sun slowly set, our house gradually got filled. Mike made a fantastic cheese board for us while Hange brought us a huge log cake. Nanaba also brought lots of delicious finger food like fried oysters, chicken nuggets, buffalo wings, cheese fries, and the like. Moblit bought all of us pizza and snacks while Farlan and Isabel made the roast turkey. Other than the roast beef, Levi and I also prepared French onion soup, tacos, as well as some Caesar salad. Everyone wished Levi a happy birthday and placed their presents for him underneath our Christmas tree.
“Tch, there’s so much unhealthy food. I should have told them to bring more homemade food like—”
“Hey, Mr Ackerman. What did I tell you about enjoying yourself today?” Levi and I were in our room and he was complaining about the food. I wanted to feed the twins before we ate, in case they start crying. I was holding Léon while Levi rubbed Pierre's back, getting him to burp.
“But, you can’t eat the pizza Moblit brought. It’s all fat and sodium and you know it’s bad for you.” Levi placed a milk-drunk Pierre back in his cot once he burped.
“A slice of pizza won’t hurt…” I passed Léon to Levi once he was done, and I went to change. I decided on a light pink dress which was slightly loose around the waist. Once Levi had Léon burp, he gently rocked Léon and placed him in the cot, and went to get changed too. Levi matched me and wore a light pink dress shirt and dark grey tapered trousers.
“Remember. Stop eating anything that makes you feel sick. I made porridge already.” Levi eyed me from the mirror before stepping out of our bathroom.
“Yes Sir!” I jokingly got into a salute and went out hand in hand with Levi to join our friends for dinner.
While the children had their dinner at a small table in front of the television, the rest of us gathered by our dining table in the dining room. Our dining table could only fit six people and we had to add in extra seats to fit everyone. We had to squeeze a little, but everyone didn't mind. It was nice to see everyone gather and catch up on their lives. Everyone loved the roast turkey, and the children loved the pizza. Even Renée, who's a little picky with her food, asked for seconds.
Dinner progressed through and I had to excuse myself a couple of times. It was either to coax the twins or because the dogs were making too much noise and I had to let them roam around in the backyard before they started to drive our guests nuts. However, there were a few times I had to go to the toilet. Levi kept throwing me nervous glances and followed me wherever I went. I wanted to tell Levi off for being annoying and to tell him to stop shadowing me, but thankfully he kept doing so. I had to go to the toilet to throw up because I ate a fried oyster and felt sick. Levi held my hair and rubbed my back soothingly as I hugged the toilet bowl, feeling nothing but nausea.
“Are you sure you’re fine? You look really pale.” Levi handed me a towel before helping me up.
“It’s nothing, love. We went through this before. It’s normal.” I gently patted my mouth with water before tidying up my hair. Levi sighed and looked at me, a look of concern plastered on his face.
“I know. I know it’s normal. B-but, I just—I just can’t bear to see you like this. I—”
“Levi Ackerman. Listen to me,” I cupped his cheeks, forcing him to face me. “Don’t let this ruin your birthday dinner, okay? Don’t worry. Also, I’m your wife. I’m stronger than you think” I chuckled, making sure my dress was prim and proper before leaving the toilet.
“I will let you know if I’m feeling sick again, okay? I promise.” I reached out my pinky finger, assuring my worried husband. Levi relented and hooked pickies with me, and we went back to the dining table.
“Are you okay, Rei?” Nanaba questioned after pouring herself some of Erwin’s homemade mulled wine.
“Yeah, Nana, don’t worry. I’m fine. Just feeling a little under the weather.” I smiled, serving her and Moblit more soup.
“Hey, Rei,” Mike called from across the table, “is the cheeseboard not up to your liking? You haven’t touched it one bit and now I’m sad.” I quickly looked at Levi, not knowing how to explain myself without giving myself away.
“No dairy for Rei, she’s having a stomachache.” Levi curtly replied before eyeing me again, as though asking me for permission before he could take something off the cheese board. Levi knew how much I loved eating cheese and I knew he was worried that I would feel upset about not being able to eat it. I gave Levi a small smile and patted his thigh, and Levi took a slice of ham and some cheese.
Thankfully, I didn’t feel too sick afterwards and we managed to finish eating dinner without any more incidents. Our friends didn’t seem to catch on to anything either. Farlan and Moblit helped us clean up while the rest of them gathered in the living room to play with the children and to enjoy the desserts prepared by Hange and Mia. The twins seemed to steal all the limelight, and they enjoyed the attention on them too, especially Léon who gets overwhelmed by noise but is giggling and playing with his uncles and aunties. Once we did the gift exchange, everyone urged Levi to open his birthday presents. We’ve been hosting this celebration for Levi for years, yet his face still reddens with embarrassment when he was asked to stand up and open his gifts. Erwin and Mia gifted Levi a new shaver while Hange got him a pair of customised cufflinks. One had an ‘L’ while the other had an ‘R’.
“Well, it obviously stands for ‘Levi’ and ‘Rei’, but I thought that would help you differentiate between your left and right too.” Hange joked while drinking some mulled wine. Everyone laughed while Levi threw Hange a dirty look. Moblit got him a fountain pen engraved with his name while Nanaba bought Levi a set of car fragrances. Farlan and Isabel bought us a set of silky bathrobes and finally it was Mike’s present. It was the largest in size and everyone was curious to know what did Mike bring. Loosening the ribbon and opening the box, inside were a few children’s clothing, children’s storybooks, children’s sneakers, and also new collars for our dogs. Levi stared at Mike with a cocked brow while everyone else started laughing again.
“So, your idea of a birthday present to me is getting gifts for my children and my dogs, and nothing for me?” Levi had his hands on his waist and looked annoyed.
“What?” Mike retorted, “who said your birthday presents have to be something for you?” Levi rolled his eyes again but he had a small smile.
“Fine, you’re not wrong,” Levi looked through the box, flipping through the books. “You better pray hard Renée likes these, and our kids too when they grow up.” As the presents unravelled, Farlan urged Levi to say a few words of thanks. Levi grimaced, silently looking at me asking for help. I simply sat on the armchair next to where Levi was standing, feeling jittery.
“Uhh. You guys know I’m not an eloquent speaker. But, y-yeah. Thanks for sticking by me all these years, from the time I said I would never fall in love, until now that I am a father myself,” Levi took a good look at everyone before landing his eyes on me, and I gave him a wide smile.
“Also, we have a special announcement to make.” Levi held out his hand and I stood next to him, unable to contain my excitement. Taking a deep breath, I played with my fingers while Levi’s hands went to my belly. Everyone was staring at us and I felt like throwing up again.
“We’re expecting, again!”
Cheers of laughter echoed around the room, and Mia and Isabel rushed forward to hug me. Erwin carried Pierre and Léon, and tickled them saying “well look, you two are going to be older brothers!”. I could also hear Mike telling Farlan “I knew it! It’s impossible for Rei to not eat anything from my cheese board!” in a loud voice.
“So when is Ackerman number 4 due?” Mia questioned, her hand circling around the barely visible bump underneath my dress.
“I’m about 10 weeks in, so maybe around June to July next year!” I excitedly told them.
“The both of you need to take a chill pill. I suspect you two are out to earn our money from red packets⁴.” Mike commented while taking another sip of wine.
“Shut up, Mike, you love my kids. Also, you spoil them too much. Stop giving Renée sweets.” Levi threw a napkin towards Mike while accepting a one-armed hug from him.
After our friends congratulated us and everyone finished their dessert, it was time for the party to end. Nanaba, Moblit, Hange, and Mike left together in Mike's car while Farlan and Isabel played with Renée while waiting for their taxi. Once their taxi was here, Renée bid them goodnight and went back to her room. Erwin and Mia left with their kids earlier as it was Aria's time to sleep. Renée had a little pout on her face when they left, eagerly telling Mia that she wants to go over to their place soon.
Once our friends left, Levi went to wash the dishes while I got the dogs to sleep. Pierre and Léon were already in dreamland, sleeping soundly in their cots. I went to check on Renée and she was still up, drawing something on her little desk.
“Jia Ling, it’s time for bed,” I chimed, knocking on her door.
“Five more minutes, Mama, I want to finish this and give it to Papa!” I took a peep and Renée was colouring a birthday card for Levi. It was really cute, Levi and I were in the middle of the picture, and she even drew a party hat on his head. Renée was on my left, and the boys were on Levi’s right. She even drew the dogs in their kernels.
“The card is really pretty. Papa will be very happy. But do you know what will make Papa happier?” Renée put down the crayon and stared at me. “Papa would be happy if he sees his princess clean and ready for bed.” Renée listened immediately and went to the toilet. She stood on her stool and brushed her teeth together with me before changing into her pyjamas. As she climbed into her bed, I tucked her under her blanket and sat down, getting ready to read her a nighttime story. Levi came in after seeing her night light still on.
“Ma chérie, why are you still awake?” Sitting on Renée’s bed, Levi placed his arm on my shoulder.
“Papa! I wanted to give you this—” she excitedly jumped out of bed to give Levi the card. Levi took it with both hands and had a wide smile on his face.
“Thank you, darling. Papa loves it.” Levi caressed her cheek before lifting her blanket, coaxing her to get in. “You’re going to be a big sister again, Renée, and big sisters need to set a good example to their siblings. You’re 20 minutes past your bedtime.” Renée’s eyes widened after hearing what Levi said and visibly sulked.
“I don’t want to be a big sister again!” Renée pouted, staring at my belly. “Is it a boy again, Mama? I don’t want another brother! Pierre and Léon are so annoying! I don’t want another brother!!” Renée whined and looked at the both of us. “I want a sister! Mama, can I have a sister? We can share our toys and clothes! Aria and come play with us too. And we can fight with Pierre and Léon!”
“Language, Jia Ling.” I frowned, narrowing my eyes. Of all our children, Renée resembled Levi the most, both in their looks and their temper. Renée giggled and lay down on her pillow.
“Bonne nuit, Papa! Bonne nuit, Mama! I don’t need a bedtime story tonight.” Renée pecked our cheeks and turned to her side, hugging her big stuffed bear. Levi switched off her night light as I made my way back to our room. Checking on the boys, they were still soundly asleep. I changed into my pyjamas and waited for Levi to join me. Placing my palm on my belly, I couldn’t wait to give Levi his birthday present.
“Ready for bed, mon cœur?” Levi smiled as he climbed onto the bed, opening his arms to pull me in. I gladly joined him, enjoying the comfortable silence. Levi pushed me upwards after a while and massaged my shoulders. “Are you tired? You’ve done a lot today.”
“I’m fine amour, don’t worry so much. Besides, you’ve helped a lot too,” I turned towards him, toying with my wedding ring.
“Have you taken those vitamins? Still feeling nausea? Any leg cramps?” Levi held my hand, fingers gently caressing mine.
“Yes I have, I’ve taken them already. Also, no I’m not feeling sick and I’m not having leg cramps. Oh before I forget, are you ready for your present?” I smiled, feeling the excitement bubble deep within.
“You didn’t have to, having you and the kids by my side is good enough.” Levi leaned on the bedrest as I went to take a box from the drawer. Giving it to Levi, I leaned in and gave him a peck on his cheek. Levi looked at me before staring at the box. He shook it, hearing some noise inside. I urged him to open it, and Levi removed the ribbon from the box and took off the lid. He remained silent for a long time and stared at the contents teary-eyed.
“I-is that—”
“Yes, amour, it is.”
Inside the box was a photo of an ultrasound scan, decorated with lots of pink flowers around. The foetus in the ultrasound looked no bigger than an apricot. On the photo was ‘Hi Papa, I can’t wait to meet you ♡’ written in black ink. Levi's thumb gently caressed the photo with a look of longing. “When did you take this?” Levi looked bewildered.
“During my appointment with the gynae earlier this month, the one your mum accompanied me to,” I took Levi’s hand and placed it on my tiny bump. I took a nervous gulp, grabbing Levi’s hand tighter. Levi’s eyes were on me now. He knows what’s coming, and I know he’s very excited as well.
“We’re having another girl.”
Levi let out a sob before hugging me tight. I returned the hug, feeling tears in my eyes too. Levi and I remained like this for a few minutes, our sobbing echoing around the room.
“Another princess? Really?” Levi released the hug and stroked my belly again.
“Yes, Levi, another girl. Renée’s going to be so happy.”
“Thank you, mon cœur⁵, for this amazing present,” Kissing my forehead, Levi pulled me to his side again as we lay down on the bed. “This is the best birthday ever.” I giggled, punching him playfully in the shoulder.
“You said the same thing last year when the boys were only a few months old,” I reached over to turn off the table lamp, pulling the blankets higher.
“No, this year is really the best. I can’t wait to meet our daughter already.”
“This time next year, she’ll be in your arms sleeping soundly.” I smiled, staring at Levi. The moonlight shone through our windows, gently illuminating his features.
“I hope she looks like you. Renée resembles me too much.” Levi smiled, stroking my cheek.
“She can look like me, but she better have your eyes. Mine are boring.” I pouted, leaning closer to Levi.
“Nonsense. Look at Léon. He has your eyes but my irises. And I know our princess number two will too.” As Levi and I continued on our silly little banter over who our daughter should look like, Léon suddenly started crying. Levi jumped out of bed and quickly carried Léon, checking his diapers. Within seconds, Pierre started crying too and I followed suit, trying to coax Pierre.
“I think he’s hungry,” Levi said after checking Leon's diapers. Pierre's diapers were clean too.
“I guess they are hungry.” I laughed and handed Pierre over to Levi while I quickly made two bottles of milk. The twins kept crying while in Levi’s arms. Once I was done, I took Pierre back from Levi and handed him a bottle. Pierre stopped crying once he had his milk, and thankfully Léon stopped crying too. Once the twins finished their milk, we gently rocked them to sleep again and placed them back in their cots.
“Are you ready to face all these again next year once our princess is born?” I asked Levi, giggling as I went to wash the milk bottles. Levi hugged me from behind and rested his head on my shoulder. Pressing a soft kiss to my cheek, Levi’s hand went to stroke the tiny bump again.
“Even with three children, I don’t think I ever will be. Heck, I don’t think I’m that great of a father myself,” Levi turned me around and trapped me against the counter again. He seems to really like doing this recently, though I’m not complaining at all. “But for you, for the kids, and for this little one, I’ll always do my best.” I locked eyes with Levi and suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to cry. I don’t know what good deeds I did in my past life to deserve someone like Levi. Sometimes it still feels so surreal that he’s mine. It must be the hormones going haywire because tears started falling before I even knew it. Levi let out a sigh and a low laughter followed behind.
“I have to admit, I’m not ready for your weird food cravings and crying episodes again, that’s for sure.” I laughed while weeping and Levi pulled me into a hug and slowly patted my back soothingly. Once I had calmed down, Levi wiped the tears on my cheek and gave me a smile, and we made our way back to our bedroom, making sure not to wake the twins up. Making ourselves comfortable under the blankets, Levi pulled close to him, laying my head on his chest and draped his arm around my waist. Our lips met in a soft kiss and Levi whispered “goodnight, mon cœur”. Just then, the clock on the nightstand let out a tiny ‘beep’, and it was exactly midnight. I snuggled closer to Levi, hearing the steady pulse of his heart.
“Happy birthday, Levi.”

Fic Prompts: Folklore Friday
(This wasn't on the schedule, but the idea just hit me)
She is two years old when he rises to the position of royal advisor. Everyone is busy fussing over the newborn prince, and nobody notices the princess wandering where she shouldn't. Nobody but Lord Ulfric. He finds her trying to pull one of his secret books off the shelf -- the ones inherited from his mother, hidden from the rest of the court -- with little success.
"Pretty!" The princess beams and points to the grinning, golden skull on the spine. "S'as a happy book?"
"Er...for some, I suppose, your highness." Ulfric awkwardly lifts the girl off the floor. "Best get you back to your nursery, eh?"
She is five when Ulfric begins to feel that the king is ignoring his advice. Matters of economy, justice, education, all given a perfunctory "yes yes, I'll see to it, of course."
Even Princess Aria's own education seems to have fallen by the wayside in favor of increased military activity near the borders of their kingdom. Ulfric had advised caution there, as their neighbors were known to have a penchant for snatching territory that was already inhabited, and so he wasn't complaining there. But as he watches Aria pelting down the halls with a frog in one hand and a cookie in the other, chased by her weary nursemaid, Ulfric begins to think the royal children's time could be used more constructively.
Aria is six when Lord Ulfric catches her in his private laboratory once again and offers to teach her to read. She points to the book with the golden skull and says, "Read me that one!"
"When you are older," Ulfric says firmly.
When Aria is ten, she realizes that there is something strange about Lord Ulfric. She's not sure most royal advisors have secret laboratories where they experiment with potions. She doesn't think most royal advisors have books wrapped in chains and strange artifacts hidden away. And she knows there is a prejudice against magic among the nobles.
"You're a wizard, aren't you?" she asks boldly, sitting on his workbench in her tattered play clothes.
Ulfric looks up from where he is crushing several small crystals to go into a chemical solution. "Now whatever gave you that idea?" he asks dryly.
"Father wouldn't like it if he found out his advisor was a wizard," Aria says thoughtfully.
"I imagine he wouldn't."
Neither one brings it up again.
Aria is twelve when she discovers that, despite being the firstborn, she won't inherit her father's throne. She's angry, and hurt, and betrayed. She begins to spend more time in Ulfric's lab, even when he's not there.
"It's a foolish tradition," she snaps one day. "Theodore is only ten! If something happens to Mother and Father, they'd have to wait even longer for him to be old enough to rule than they would if it were me!"
"The ruler of the kingdom can easily change that law," Ulfric says patiently for the hundredth time, "For now, you must focus your energy on planting the idea in the king's mind. And remember, if you make him think it was his own idea, he's less likely to question it."
"Is that how you get your work done, Uncle Ulfric?" Aria asks shrewdly.
"Yes," Ulfric answers. "Being an advisor is difficult when the person you must advise has a history of ignoring advice. You have to get creative sometimes. Now aren't you supposed to be reading a treatise on judicial reform?"
By the time Princess Aria is fifteen, Lord Ulfric is more her advisor than her father's. Thanks to him, she knows how to read people, when to conform to expectations and when to defy them. How to balance the budget of a kingdom. Where to place watchtowers to protect the vulnerable places of the land. And she knows other things.
Ointments to make her invisible so that she can slip out of the castle and interact with the real world. Rings that let the wearer understand the speech of birds or fish -- Theodore had been delighted when she gave him one for his twelfth birthday -- and flowers that can be made into deadly poisons. She knows ways to protect herself from the more common curses that fall on princesses. She can counteract most enchanted sleep spells without help.
And she knows that the king is steadily driving their kingdom to ruin.
She is sixteen when the suitors begin to arrive, and seventeen when her parents realize that she will never choose any of them. When the king sets up a grand tournament and declares that the prize is Aria's hand in marriage, most of the kingdom is appalled. What if the winner should be from an enemy kingdom? What if the winner is a cruel brute? Has the king even considered that? No, no he has not.
Princess Aria goes to her teacher and confidante the moment the news reaches her.
"Uncle Ulfric, something has to be done about Father," she says reluctantly.
Ulfric is already preparing several fearsome tasks to weed out the suitors, which did involve calling in a few favors owed to his late mother by the witch-in-the-well.
"Even without the issue of your future and wellbeing at stake," he agrees, "The kingdom does not have the money to waste on an extravaganza of this sort."
With the kingdom of Spindle making ominous advances on the edge of the Bespelled Woods, and the dread Captain Cinder making her annual attack on their sole port, the kingdom of Tangle was in a bit of a pinch. The king's idea of a solution is to marry Aria off as quickly as possible to gain access to other kingdoms' arms and resources to bolster Tangle's own depleted stores.
If he'd just compromised on the trade agreement with the territory of Neverspring, they might not have been in such a pickle. But it's too late to cry over spilled milk now.
"Uncle Ulfric," Aria says as she bursts into his study one night, "I need you to get rid of my brother."
"I beg your pardon?" Ulfric sputters.
Aria waves a hand impatiently. "He's old enough for a Quest, right? Find one that won't get him killed. We need him out of Tangle for the rest of the summer."
Ulfric sets down his scroll and runs his wrinkled hands over his face. There is more grey in his beard now and he likes to remind Aria that she's half the cause. He suspects there will be more grey there soon.
"Dare I ask why?" he asks.
And Aria holds up the book. The golden skull seems to wink at Ulfric from the spine.
"We need to overthrow the king while there's still a kingdom to save," she says bluntly. "I know you've been considering it for a long time. I just want Theodore out of harm's way when it happens."

Happy Storyteller Saturday! Rank your OCs from biggest baby to silently dying when it comes to getting injured
Ooh, that sounds fun! And also kinda difficult, since now that I think about it, most of them take injuries in stride... But you know, it gets much easier when I cross WIPs, so that’s what I’m going to do! I’ll put some signal where they’re from: FP (Frog Prince), DE (Death’s Eyes) and VI (Villain’s Intern)!Okay, so “biggest baby” on top, moving down to “silently dying”!
Biggest Baby (Going Down)
Aria (VI): This is the woman who would complain for hours that she’s broken a nail; it ruins the whole picture, she can’t do it... if she got injured, there’s no way she’d take it quietly. She’d demand attention and lots of coffee, and people would definitely know something was wrong.
Lou (DE): Lou is never quiet, so why should being injured be any different? They probably have some complaints anyway, so let’s get them out! Also, Lou discovers pretty early on that they don’t bother Acheflow as much as most people, so they know they can get away with it!
Scarlet (FP): It’s all her fault, but she’s not going to keep quiet about those injuries! Honestly though, she’s probably bragging, because she may be injured, but you should see the other people!
Violet (VI): She tries, she really does, not to complain, but little grumbles make it out. The more it takes to heal, the more likely it is that you’ll hear a complaint. She’d rather it just be done and over with, rather than deal with a treatment that cuts into her days.
Rhianwyn (FP): Opposite of Violet, the more severe the injury, the quieter Rhianwyn would be. However, she will make a fuss over smaller things. She’s this high up because she uses those complaints as misdirection and a disguise, so she can continue her work as needed.
Theodore (FP): He keeps mostly quiet, since he’s been raised not to show any weaknesses, or irritation, so hiding both is what he works towards. However, he’s also not fully in control, and there would be some private admissions and need for attention when there’s no one but him and Gwen around.
Tobias (DE): He plays it up sometimes for attention, but for the most part, he takes care of it himself and does his best not to let anyone know how bad an injury is!
TIE! Gwendolyn (FP), Roland (FP), and Acheflow (DE): Gwen wouldn’t say anything because... well, she wants to avoid making trouble for anyone. Roland would just refuse to say anything to anyone, and since that’s kind of his default, that’s not surprising. And Acheflow has the thought process that she’s injured, but she just has to deal with it and why bother complaining? At least she’s alive!

I read this Draco Malfoy fanfic on archive of our own and really liked it so I thought I should share it with everyone.
This fic does not belong to me. It belongs solely to the author. No credit goes to me.
Work Text:
Christmas holiday was always Aria Delacour's favorite time of year, a magical time (no pun intended), especially the Saturday evening after most of the school left to return to their respective homes for the break. The Slytherin common room was always quiet, but not quite as freeing as it was during the break. Aria felt she could finally relax once everyone left. No one was here to judge her or interrupt her.
Aria may have been a pureblood witch, from the joined Nott line of the Sacred Twenty-Eight and Delacour line of France, but her parents were not keen on a majority of pureblood traditions. Some of the other Slytherins considered her a blood-traitor before the war, but those comments had rapidly diminished ever since. However, on the extremely rare occasion, some of the more outspoken members thought it necessary to continue to voice their opinions, as they still held onto elitist thoughts and outdated traditions. Aria had been lucky to be raised in a family such as hers, surrounded by love and comfort, instead of hateful ideologies. Some days she wondered why she had been sorted into Slytherin in the first place, as she was surely not the traditional sort. The thought often crossed her mind that maybe that was why she was sorted into this house: to show that different is ok and not everyone needed to be a hateful, bigoted blood-purist to be a Slytherin. Being an eighth year also had its perks, as she was the only female her age in Slytherin who chose to come back, she had her own private eighth-year dormitory that was separate from the rest of the years. While it was wonderful to have her own space, there was nothing like reclining on the large bench seat by the window as the massive fireplace warmed her toes.
So, that’s why she took solace in the fact that nearly everyone in the Slytherin house had gone home for the holidays. She was able to revel in the silence of the common room, only the soft crackle of the fireplace and the intermittent slosh of the Black Lake against the glass windows to keep her company. Sure, she could have gone home for the holidays, but her parents were off celebrating their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary in the Cayman Islands, and that was not something she wanted to interrupt. She shuddered at the thought of the last time she walked in on her parents.
Immediately shaking off those disturbing thoughts, Aria changed into her silk pajamas and cashmere jumper, grabbed her most well-loved book, The Hobbit,from the shelf in her dormitory, and glided up the stairs to her favorite spot in the common room.
A short time later, fully immersed in her novel, Aria heard the common room door open as her cousin Theodore Nott walked in. He gave her a cursory greeting and a kiss on the cheek before he departed to his dormitory for the night. Being raised together, Theo knew better than to disturb her when she was reading unless it was urgent. He also knew she appreciated these rare moments to relax in the common room undisturbed and so he left her to her own devices, opting to relax in his own dormitory tonight.
Aria faintly heard the boys’ dormitory door open and click shut as she resumed her spot in the novel. She had just got to the part where Bilbo and the others encounter the goblins before being interrupted by Theo. She stopped momentarily to remove her jumper and transfigure it into a pillow, leaving her in a silk camisole before quickly continuing on and sinking further into the lounge.
Aria practically knew this novel by heart, as her mum used to read it to her every night before bed when she was growing up, so she wasn’t surprised when, a few hours later, her eyes began to droop and the book slipped from her hands, its pages splaying out across her abdomen. She dreamed peacefully of Bag End, adventures with dwarves, and dragons.
She woke with a start hours later, unsure exactly how long it had been that she slept for, but she noticed the fire had burnt down to faint embers so it must be very early morning. She sat up on the lounge and immediately noticed a blanket had been placed over her, which she was thankful for as the common room had grown quite chilly in the wee hours of the morning. Wrapping the blanket tightly around her shoulders she inhaled a familiar scent, but it was one she couldn’t place right away. Aria quickly searched for the book that had surely fallen between the cushions or between the lounge and the window at some point during her nap. Unable to find said book in the dim light, she shrugged to herself, resolving to find it tomorrow afternoon when it was lighter and not so frosty.
She grabbed her transfigured pillow and was about to pilfer the newly acquired blanket when a figure in a nearby armchair caught her eye. She hadn’t seen him at first in the dim light of the waning fire and she quietly tiptoed closer, unsure if her eyes were playing tricks on her, but it was him all right. Draco Malfoy was slouched in the armchair, his head propped up on his hand and Aria's missing book spread open on his lap.
She smiled and blushed to herself at the scene in front of her, that and now she knew why the blanket smelled so familiar. Draco had never been antagonistic to her, but he had never gone out of his way to be openly friendly to her either. He and Theo were close, practically attached at the hip, but it felt to Aria he only tolerated her for Theo’s sake. Things were a little different this year though: she found that Draco was no longer the center of attention in Slytherin house for the same reason as before. Now, he was shunned in the common room and openly mocked in the halls, which is probably why he clung to Theo and Blaise, and in turn Aria, like a snarfalump plant. Lately, however, Draco had been letting his mask slip more and more, it was only ever around Aria, only when they were alone, and only for a brief moment before he would throw the walls back up that he had built.
Her heart fluttered against her ribs at the thought of him being so openly kind, she also wondered if this was significant in some way. Quickly steeling herself at the onslaught of emotions that washed over her, Aria carefully considered him while she had the opportunity to do so. Rarely was he so relaxed while awake as he was in sleep. Gone was the tight-lipped frown he wore most days, instead replaced by soft, parted lips. The worry lines on his forehead were gone as well and his normally perfectly coiffed hair hung loosely over his brow.
She’d be barmy to deny that he had certainly grown into his looks. Of course, she always had a small crush on him ever since they were children, but in the past few years he had really properly developed into an insanely handsome man, her crush on him increasing as well. She had developed into a striking woman herself; gone were the flat planes of her chest and the rail-thin waist that could barely hold her skirt up. In place were a pair of round, perky breasts and an hourglass figure that would make most girls seethe with jealousy and men drool with want. Her legs had also grown longer and were toned from running up and down stairs for so many years.
Aria shook her head of the rambunctious thoughts and carefully removed the book from his lap, placing it on the table nearby. She grudgingly parted with the blanket, shivering in the crisp air that soaked through her thin camisole, and draped it gingerly over his lap. Her fingers moved of their own accord when they gently pushed the hair back from his brow and before she knew what she was doing, she had placed a soft kiss on his forehead. She promptly realized what she had done and was about to make a hasty retreat when a hand closed around the wrist that hung limply at her side, stopping her in her tracks.
Draco’s stormy grey eyes slowly opened to greet her shining emerald ones. “What the fuck was that?” his voice was rough from sleep, but there was no heat behind his words, instead a smile threatened to appear on his lips.
“Affection,” Aria replied cooly, a hint of bemusement in her tone, even though her heart was surely about to leap out of her chest.
“Disgusting,” he paused, rubbing her wrist with his thumb and gradually pulling her closer until she was seated bridal style on his lap. “Do it again,” he drawled lazily.
Aria smiled demurely as she once again ran her fingers through his soft platinum locks, brushing the loose hair from his forehead so she could place another kiss on his brow. When she pulled back, sliding her hands down to his chest, Draco’s eyes were closed and there was a genuine smile on his lips, she couldn’t help but giggle to herself at the pure happiness on his face.
Draco leisurely opened his eyes again, the smile refusing to fade from his lips as he pulled Aria closer with one arm around her waist, while the other tangled in her long, brown locks. When they were no more than a hairs-width apart, he tenderly tugged her hair and her eyes fluttered shut as heat shot from her abdomen to her core. Aria suddenly became hyper-aware of the position she was in, practically chest-to-chest with Draco, the absurd thinness of her camisole, the way she could just feel the warmth of his breath on her skin, the way hands tightened on her hair and hip. Then his lips were on hers, a soft, barely there graze, and before Aria could comprehend what was happening, he had kissed her again, more firmly, his tongue darting out to taste her lips.
The voice inside her head squealed in delight at the thought of finally being able to do this with Draco. Watching him for years with other girls had nearly killed her, but she had managed to trudge through the heartbreak with a glare on her face and an aloof demeanor. Now, though, she basked in the attention and affection, running her hands along his firm chest and shoulders, roaming to tighten in his hair before breaking away to grasp at his shoulders again.
A breath caught in Aria's throat as he pulled away, only far enough for his eyes to meet hers. He held her gaze for what felt like hours but was merely seconds before Aria grasped his jaw with both hands, dragging his face back to hers and their lips met again. A whimper escaped her throat as he caught her lower lip sharply with his teeth, drawing it out before he released it, catching her tongue once more.
Through the haze of delirium that had overtaken her, the thought occurred to Aria that it was unlike any kiss she had ever received. He most certainly knew what he was doing, unlike the other boys she had kissed. His ministrations were delicate and precise, yet his lips were firm and assertive against hers. And, if the growing and insistent heat within her core was anything to go by, his touch was affecting her in a particularly distracting way.
She seized another handful of soft blond hair, tugging lightly, and with a low growl he drew away, his lips dancing a trail along her jaw and down her neck. Aria gasped as his teeth gently grazed her earlobe, her hands clutching him desperately. His hands pressed against her back and hips, fidgeting with the hem of her shirt, working her teasingly, temptingly, his fingertips barely brushing her flushed skin. His lips met hers again with renewed fervor, and Aria, heart pounding a dizzying cadence, drew him nearer still, her hands moving of their own daring accord to unbutton the front of his shirt.
She had barely got the topmost button undone before he caught her wrists, wrenching away with a gasp of breath, his piercing grey eyes sliding open to meet hers once more. For a long moment, they simply stared at once another, both of their chests heaving as they panted; he released her wrists but did not pull further away, his hands coming to rest on her hips as he rested his forehead against hers.
“That was —“
“We should —“
Draco and Aria begin at the same time, still holding each other’s gaze. Draco smiled and squeezed Aria's hip as an indication she should go first.
“I was only going to say we should probably go to bed, it’ll be light soon.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right,” he groaned as they both stood. He brought one hand up to graze her cheekbone with the back of his fingers. “Because if not, I may drag you somewhere half-private and have my way with you,” he added, smirking.
Aria's eyes widened in shock. "Probably for the best," she choked out, her face flushing and her heart beginning to race anew at his blatant declaration of interest. He released her, stepping away and grabbing the blanket that had fallen to the floor. She shuddered at the loss of heat and wrapped her arms around herself.
"Goodnight, Aria,” he murmured, his eyes warm and intriguing.
"Night," she exhaled, biting her lip as he turned and walked away toward the boys’ dormitories.
A thousand thoughts ran through Aria's head as he made the short walk to the stairs and in that minuscule amount of time, Aria came to a decision.
 “Draco, wait,” she muttered, quickly grabbing her book and pillow and crossing the space so she wouldn’t have to speak above a whisper.
He turned back to face her with one pale blond brow raised, a smirk on his lips. She blushed as she thought how to phrase her next sentence.
“Um, I was just wanting to let you know you probably shouldn’t go back to the boys’ dorm tonight. It’s already so late and, you know, Theo’s a light sleeper and gets cranky when someone wakes him up, and—“ her rambling was stopped short by Draco pressing a finger against her lips to silence her.
“Are you trying to suggest that I sleep on the couch in the common room?” he smirked.
She darted her tongue out and licked his finger, smirking as his eyes darkened before blushing and returning to her nervous rambling. “No… Um… It’s just that, I’m the only one in my dorm and the rest of the beds are empty. It would be better than waking up Theo, right? So I was going to suggest… ” she paused at Draco’s heated gaze. “Youstaythenightwithmeinmydorm?” she finally squeaked out, the words running together as she rushed to vocalize her thoughts.
Draco blinked as he tried to separate the words she had rushed out, and when it finally clicked, he growled, picked Aria up, and tossed her over his shoulder, eliciting a sharp squawk of surprise out of her.
“Quiet, you harpy, or you’re going to wake Theo yourself,” he whispered, laughing softly as he traipsed down the stairs.
“Draco, put me down!” she hissed quietly.
“No,” he said bluntly. “I finally get my chance with you and I’m never letting go,” he added casually.
 Aria didn’t have much time to think about the weight his words held before he barreled in to her dormitory and kicked the door shut behind him. As he pressed her up against the door, she couldn’t help but marvel at how magical Christmas truly was.

Since its October 🎃 your ocs have been invited to a halloween party, what do they dress up as?? 🦇
Okay, so this is a fun one to think about! I'll split this up by WIP!
Frog Prince WIP (AKA easiest costumes, because they're all fairytales! :D):
Gwendolyn goes as a princess, and Theodore would end going as a frog; they'd go full couple costume with it, and it's just a fun little thing, since they are the Frog Prince story!
Scarlet would do Red Riding Hood, but as a twist; she'd zombify it, or mix Red with the huntsman, something like that!
Roland goes as a hunter, with a fake bow and arrows and all that! It's not a real costume, just random pieces from his own closet that just work out when Scarlet forces him to go.
Rhianwyn goes as a queen, and she goes all out with real jewelry, a one-of-a-kind dress commissioned just for her, and destroys everyone else's self-esteem just by showing up!
Death's Eyes:
Acheflow would wear something historically accurate, because Tobias would force her to go to a party, and she refuses to wear something that isn't accurate. That, or she'd be in an animal onesie, because she's in protest and doesn't want to be there!
Tobias goes all out with his costumes, and he varies from year to year. Pirates, Outlaws, or Robin Hood-like things tend to be popular! (Or video game characters, if he really liked the character!)
Lou is the type that goes abstract! So, they may wear pastels, and sparkles, and tutus, and say they're a cupcake. Or they could go with really dark clothes, with capes and all that, claiming to be the darkness in their soul. Things like that!
Xavier is probably the host, and as such, is wearing fancy clothes and claims to be a vampire when someone asks. He's not in a costume at all, he just wears clothes like that because that's who he is.
Villain's Intern:
Violet wears whatever Aria hands her; this would be either a type of fairy, or a princess. Neither makes her totally happy, but at least it's not purple.
Aria has two styles: the typical "adult" costumes, with her own personal flair, or if kids are around, she defaults to onesies, or makes an outfit to match the poodle-skirt she found in a yard sale and refuses to get rid of!

I definitely remember reading about your wips before. Can you tell me more about Violet and Prince Theodore? And can I hear a bit about Gwendolyn's personality? I remember liking her...
Of course I can! I’m always willing to talk about them! (Probably more than anyone ever wants me to). I am gonna put this under a Read More to keep things small though!
Theodore is… well, he changes a lot during the story, but he starts off as a jerk. Big jerk. Entitled and bossy and rude, and he kind of deserves to be turned into a frog. He is sheltered too though, so as he travels and sees how different things are when you’re not nobility, he does mellow out and change. He’s stubborn and likes to plan his every move… and as a contradiction, will make emotional decisions super impulsively. (This is the boy who offers to give up the throne at the drop of a hat because the idea of being a witch on a throne bothers Gwen. After all, if he’s not a prince, why would it matter to anyone else if he loves a witch?)
And Gwendolyn is my quiet girl who wants nothing more than to be normal. She is however, extremely overprotective of certain people, and has a very short temper… and just so happens to be a witch. She takes herself -and everything else- too seriously, and ends up going on a journey because she accidentally cursed a prince. Also, she can be kind of a pushover; Scarlet is able to convince her to do almost anything, and Gwendolyn does end up following a bossy cat because it kept pulling her. (Also, she can’t cook. At all. Except soup… and that’s debatable)
They’re my precious couple who are just adorable and learn how to be better people together and if I could just get past the stage where they hate each other, everyone could just be happy.
I saved Violet for last because she’s a different WIP; she’s kind of my experiment into 1st person, when I get a chance to write it out regularly instead of random bits on here. She’s a high school senior in a world of superheroes and villains, who just so happens to end up as an intern in the cover company of the city’s supervillains. She’s… not nice. She’s pretty much always grumpy, her archnemesis is her ex-best friend turned popular girl, and Violet just wants to get to college literally anywhere else. Her morals are not exactly pure; she doesn’t care that she’s working for villains. What she cares about is that the hush money (and the work experience on paper) is going to get her through college without drowning her in student debt.
Violet does change and make attachments though, which is fun; she and the villains are a family unit of their own (Aria in particular becomes a big sister and they have a fun dynamic to write)! Violet also has a side that she keeps very hidden that loves fuzzy blankets and big stuffed animals; when she has a bad day, she curls up in bed under the blankets, surrounded with giant animals.
Also, not totally important with Violet, but she is Japanese-American, so it’s kind of fun putting some of my family traditions and the stuff we did growing up into her own background. (She loves mochi. She’s made mochi. Violet and I share a very important experience of burning our hands on super hot pounded rice)
That’s a lot of random stuff in a pile there, but if there’s anything else you’d like to know, let me know! I’m always happy to talk about my OCs and clear up things for them (I really do have to update the pages, seriously)

What would be your OC’s favourite video games? For any characters, Scarlet, Violet, Aria, Gwen, Aoife, anyone!
I’m thinking Scarlet would like something really violent, like Doom. Gwen maybe would like something calmer like Animal Crossing. I could imagine Aria playing some sort of math video game right before robbing a bank, like Sudoku or something.
Or maybe I’m completely wrong, and Scarlet loves Stardew Valley and Gwen’s a beast at Call of Duty haha
So, ages ago, back when I was consistently on this site, I talked about some games headcanons here, but I can be more specific about bits now because I've played new games since! I'll throw it under a Read More to keep things small!
You were absolutely right in that Gwen is absolutely my Animal Crossing (especially Happy Home Paradise) gal! She also likes games like Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley, where there's minimal (if any) fighting, and farming romance!
Scarlet will play lots of games, but she likes things like Dynasty Warriors a whole lot. She'd be on the edge of her seat, waiting for Three Hopes to come out, although she wasn't the biggest fan of FE: Three Houses itself. (However, although Scarlet tends to like blondes, ooh Dorothea is her jam) Anything that relies too much on story, puzzles, or remembering lots of lore bores her, so lots of fighting or competitive game are the way to go!
Aoife likes cozy games! Unpacking. Unpacking is her thing. She wants a thousand games just like it, where she can just unpack boxes and organize all the cool things! Sims would also be a good ting for her, where she just goes creative in making houses and things! (Toshiko, on the other hand, is all about stressful games, where actions have consequences, like This War of Mine)
Violet is incapable of playing shooters. She's not sure what it is, but anything that requires her to shoot is something she can't play. She couldn't shoot to save her life. (However, much like me, she would end up winning PUBG with a teammate, without ever taking damage or firing a shot) Much like Theodore, Violet likes strategy games, and the more lore, the better! There's nothing Violet loves more than some good worldbuilding!
Aria is a casual player, and she'll try most things at least once. She gets my recent Genshin Impact obsession, because all the pretty people and unlike me, Aria would have the money to drop on all the banners. She would have Venti... unlike me. Although she would have all the things because she drops hundreds into the game, Aria plays for the aesthetics; she gives them weapons that match style rather than best stats, and she has different themes for her party builds based on who looks best together! She isn't particularly great at fighting, but she's having fun, so who can really say it's a bad thing? (Bonus: she also funds Violet's Genshin adventures, because Aria wants to play co-op, and Violet is much more organized and better at the combat. Violet now carries Aria through co-op battles)

So, considering the fact that I’m in full fan mode for RWBY, here’s some info on my OCs considering fandoms, if they had them. Read More to keep things small!
Gwendolyn would be the casual fan. Like, she’d know about it, but she wouldn’t participate in events unless someone else made her. And even then, she wouldn’t be as outwardly happy as the rest of her group.
Theodore’s huge in fandom events. Oh, this boy would definitely cosplay, and go LARPing, and considering his family, he’d have the best costumes and props made for him.He’s got quite a following on his social media for these things.
Scarlet is the one who drags people to events for fandoms she enjoys, but only small ones. Like, the little cons, where there’s less people but just as much fun.She’s also the one who -surprisingly- organizes the meetups, so she can get as much out of her time as possible with other fans.
Roland doesn’t do events. Ever. He manages to disappear if someone is plotting to drag him to one.
Rhianwyn doesn’t go to events, at least not willingly. She enjoys things, but not being surrounded by other fans. She’d rather talk about her fandoms anonymously online than meet people offline.
Acheflow doesn’t get into many fandoms; she generally doesn’t get into the “popular” ones either, the ones that float around the internet and people talk about. The exception would be Hetalia, because of the countries and she’d think it would be funny.
Tobias likes all the fandoms. He’s that person who knows lots of things about lots of shows, and he’s always willing to share. (He’s also the type who buys all the merch, and no one is sure where that much disposable income is coming from)
Violet doesn’t do cons. At all. She’s got nothing against them, but she doesn’t have the money or the desire to deal with that many people.
Aria isn’t in fandoms so much, because she never has time to really get into a show/series. Ever. She has the popular things recorded, or in some form that she can watch if she ever has time, but then doesn’t watch them. (She admires the costumes and things people make though!)
