I thought that I had a lot of experience, but I did not realize how much there was to learn. My life has changed due to Superior Edge because I have gained many new perspectives. These perspectives were gained by working in Belize, a hospital setting, and with students of all different backgrounds. Seeing the conditions that some people live in but noticing how happy they still are made me grateful. I realized how privileged I am.

Abby: If I were to go back and talk to my freshman self, I would say that Superior Edge will push you to step out of your comfort zone and become involved in the community. Be ready to meet new amazing people and keep an open mind. Most importantly, I would say that traveling to another country is the most amazing experience you can partake in and that everyone should do it if they are granted the opportunity.

Fiel a seu compromisso de recuperação do Patrimônio Arquitetônico de Curitiba, CASACOR Paraná escolheu para sede deste ano o icônico imóvel que iniciou a história do Jockey Club do Paraná. O projeto conta com um retrofit do imóvel histórico, patrimônio protegido por Tombamento Estadual, onde são apresentados ambientes residenciais e, aproveitando os espaços originais, áreas de Gastronomia, para implantar o Café e Resto-Bar, ambientes tradicionais e esperados pelo público da CASACOR.

Complementa o evento, o aproveitamento do grande jardim onde estão instalados alguns setores, como Espaços Corporativos e um setor de Gastronomia com Clube de Gourmets e Salão para Eventos.

Ainda, em lindo Parque de Eucaliptos que ladeia o prédio, foram instalados um Boulevard de Contêineres, aproveitando a onda mundial de reciclagem desses elementos.

O imóvel: A antiga sede administrativa do Jockey Club do Paraná abriga a segunda entidade de turfe mais antiga do Brasil e agora recebe a 24ª edição da CASACOR Paraná 2017.

A história do Jockey Club do Paraná teve início no dia 02 de dezembro de 1.873, com a eleição de sua primeira Diretoria, e tinha como sede o Prado Jácome, localizado onde hoje existe o Asilo Nossa Senhora da Luz (Rua Marechal Floriano Peixoto). O Clube de Corridas Paranaense continuou promovendo suas reuniões nesse local, que na década de 1880 passou a ser chamado Prado Curitibano, até os últimos anos daquele século.

No final do século as exigências do público eram por melhores instalações e a sociedade passou a trabalhar na construção de um novo espaço. No ano de 1897 foram tomadas as primeiras iniciativas para a construção da nova sede no Guabirotuba. O Club de Corridas Paranaense conseguiu construir o Hipódromo do Guabirotuba, com a venda do terreno Prado. Foi inaugurado em 25 de junho de 1899.

No dia 31 de agosto de 1950 o então Governador Moyses Lupion autorizou a reavaliação do terreno do Club, oportunizando que o terreno do Guabirotuba passasse para o Estado e uma área no Bairro Tarumã foi repassada ao Jockey.

Dia 10 de dezembro de 1955 foi inaugurada a então nova sede do Jockey Club do Paraná, no bairro Tarumã, onde está até hoje.

Por sua história e importância, em 2005, essa sede foi tombada como patrimônio histórico.

Além da Sede Administrativa, onde acontece a edição 2017 da Casa Cor Paraná, o clube conta com uma estrutura completa para a prática do turfe, como duas pistas de areia, sistema de iluminação, casas de apostas, três arquibancadas (social, popular e paddock), um passeador, lanchonetes, playgrounds, três salões para eventos (Salão Nobre, Salão Bento Munhoz da Rocha Neto e Salão Almeida Prado), 59 grupos de cocheira (que abrigam 742 animais), quatro picadeiros, Hospital Veterinário, Escolinha de Preparação de Jóqueis.
