[Author’s Note: Heck yeah, stop normalizing the grind and start normalizing being a sleepy lil guy] 

Lionel: 

He doesn’t get very much sleep because he’d rather play or program his games later on in the day but he’ll chill in the same room as you. 

Lionel isn’t really a cuddler but he’ll let you lean against him. 

You’re probably the reason why he’s starting to have a better sleep schedule. 

He’s a pretty decent artist because he designs all the visual aspects of his games so he might sketch you while you’re sleeping. He’s very shy about showing you these sketches because he doesn’t want to come off as weird.

Carla: 

Carla loves to cuddle but she can’t sit still. 

She has so many stuffed animals you can cuddle with in her absence and a bunch of cool blankets with different designs on them. 

Before you moved in together she would fall asleep with you on Discord calls. 

Before she started dating you she would listen to asmr so she would recommend you some channels she liked. She would watch the funny ones with you in bed.

Reggie: 

If you’re asleep in front of other people he’ll make it very clear that no one should disturb your rest. 

Reggie has different records that he can play on the gramophone if you prefer music while you’re sleeping. If you don’t he can make the inn silent.

Will hum to you as you fall asleep.

Life can be so stressful so he’s just happy to see that you’re resting.

Jeremiah:

Jeremiah is a very awkward cuddler so in the beginning you’ll be initiating most of it. 

Even if you’re bundled up in blankets he’ll still give you his cloak.

He doesn’t need sleep but will sleep next to you if it’s something you want him to do. 

He likes listening to the sound of your heartbeat, it becomes his favorite sound to fall asleep to.

Chef Bryce: 

Bryce prefers to be moving and doing something but he considers all time with you to be precious, even if it’s sleeping. 

He may not fall asleep but he’ll use that opportunity to practice meditation, breathing exercises, or reflect on his day. 

He likes to tell you about the silly dreams he had when he wakes up and he likes to hear about your dreams. 

He doesn’t sleep with a lot of blankets so you can have as many as you like but he will steal your pillows. 

Lazarus: 

Laz is always tired even if he gets an appropriate amount of rest which is rare. 

He’ll sleep along with you no matter the time or the place. 

I saw a drawing of him with long hair once so that’s now my headcanon for him. His hair is super long and will get everywhere while you two are sleeping. It’s normal to wake up with some of his hair in your mouth. 

He likes to hold your hand while sleeping so he’s still connected to you. 

Chandrelle: 

Chandrelle talks in her sleep and it can be really funny sometimes. 

She’s a little grumpy when she first wakes up but then again she’s grumpy all the time. 

Before she met you she was fine with sleeping alone but now if she wants to sleep she needs you to cuddle her. 

She uses some of the items and potions from her game to create skincare products so that you two have a fun nighttime spa routine. 

Sado: 

Doesn’t need to sleep but enjoys sleeping anyways. 

She’s always hyper aware of everything meaning it’s hard for her to fall asleep. Your cuddles do help her get calm and cozy. 

Unfortunately her hyper awareness means that even the most faintest sound or a slight change in temperature will wake her up. 

She enjoys building a huge pillow fort for the both of you to sleep in. This pillow fort will literally defy the laws of time and space.

Irving: 

Irving doesn’t really understand that people need to rest so he ends up pushing other people and himself to the limit. 

It’ll take some persuasion but you can get him to fall asleep with you. You tell him that you’ll only take a five minute nap and it ends up being hours later before either of you wake up. 

He thinks resting makes him weak but he loves holding you and making you feel safe. He tells himself that he’s only resting for you and won’t admit that he genuinely enjoys his downtime with you. 

He prefers to sleep and cuddle with you on a couch so that he can get up easily if his work requires him to do so. 

First Person Perspective: 

It’s hard to tell if he sleeps or not but he’s always down for cuddling with you. 

If you fall asleep and he needs to go somewhere he’ll just carry you around, he doesn’t really care who’s watching. It’s just comforting to have you close by. 

He loves glow in the dark stuff so if the both of you have a room at the inn it will be covered in those glow in the dark stars that stuck on ceilings. 

He’s great to cuddle with because he’s really good at staying still. 

Rust McClain: 

This man is so tired but will not sleep unless you drag him to bed. 

Even when he’s no longer in Waste World he insists on looking out for danger. After what happened in his game it’s hard for him to feel safe but he’ll sleep if you really want him to. 

He enjoys cuddling with you but you can only do it once he has all of his accessories off otherwise it’s going to be very uncomfortable. 

He loves sleeping to the sound of rain. If it’s raining he’ll start to fall asleep even if he doesn’t mean to.

A little somethin-somethin while I’m beating my brain into submission to work on my larger fics. 

Lucifer

He comes to bed MUCH later than you, if at all. Pulls a lot of all-nighters in his office.

You offer to keep him company on the couch but nah. You drool in your sleep and if you stain his couch he will have to punish you.

As you stay over more and more he will allow you to come closer. If you are romantically inclined he will indulge himself in your warmth and body by letting you sleep on his lap while he works. Your heartbeat thumping away steadily and minty breath tickling his nape is soothing.

If you can drag him to bed (major kudos), he’s out before his head hits the pillow, so there isn’t much cuddling or getting to sleep close to him.

You can hold his hand in his sleep though. It’s cute when he subconsciously holds your hand back.

You normally wake up alone. He has morning meetings and can’t stay. But he will allow you to get a few extra hours of zzz’s.

Mammon

Pfffft. Like he would want to sleep in the same bed as you.

Please for the love of all things unholy sleep in the same bed as him.

He is a big cuddler the moment the door is shut. As soon as the lock clicks his dragging to the bed.

The couch is his favorite place to sleep until you started sharing his space. He hated how big his bed was when he’s alone. It is a lot of empty space and makes him feel lonely.

He hordes pillows of all types around his place and likes to sleep surrounded by them.

Tell no one but he loves being the little spoon. Yes, wrap him in your scent. He will smother his face in the crook of your neck as he drifts off.  

He snores.

Leviathan

Does this boy sleep?

The world may never know. You sure as hell won’t.

He loves having you in his room watching him play some random hyper fixation of the week. He talks a mile a minute about the stats and bonus items.

You try to stay up and watch, but as the hours tick by you drift off leaning against his tub wrapped in some blankets.

LOL- Be ready to be spammed with pics of you passed out on the floor.

But after he’s gotten his chuckles he’ll scoop you up and tuck you into his tub-nest.

He’ll spend the rest of the night playing his games on mute.

Satan

Aside from Lucifer, he is the most subdued of the bunch. Nighttime is his favorite time because it’s (usually) blissfully quiet.

He’ll invite you in if you wanna sleep or just talk till you are tired enough to head back to your room.

If you want to stay and sleep he’ll let you take the bed while he reads a few more chapters in his favorite chair.

He has lots of pillows too. He, like Mammon, likes the comfort of being surrounded by pillows and the feeling of being cocooned while he reads himself to sleep.

IDK, but I headcanon the idea that he eats in bed while reading and probably has some crumbs in there lol. So after you dust the crumbs away and tuck yourself in you drift off almost instantly.

His room is cool and he always has a window open to let in the evening breeze and the sound of the water fountains outside mix really well with his gramophone. Even after you fall asleep he’ll start reading to you out loud. For no particular reason, he just finds it comforting.

Asmodeus

Look, listen. He loves you, he really really does.

But if you fuck with his sleep schedule he might just maim you.

If you wanna sleep in the same bed as him you better show up an hour before his bedtime. If you don’t-welp- door is locked and the boy is doing his nightly routine without you.

But if you show up on time he’ll treat you to some of his expensive products or you two can mix and match your nightly skincare routines.

He has a super fancy oil diffuser that on nights when you sleepover he lets you pick the scents. His favorites are lavender and a mix ylang-ylang and cedarwood.

Beelzebub

Not the best option for a sleepover.

Not because he isn’t the biggest cuddler of the 7. But because he is a light sleeper.

Between the midnight munchies and his constantly growling stomach, it can be hard for him to settle down to sleep.

Bring snacks with you and it’ll help. When he runs out, most nights he’ll try to suffer through it so you can get some sleep. But, once you catch on and scold him he learns to just get up and get something to eat.

Starts giving you piggyback rides to the kitchens so you can go with him. You still get to snooze and the promise of snacks. Bonus.

Might as well bring a sleeping back with you to the kitchens while you’re at it. Lucifer’s wrath be damned.  

Belphegor

Haha. Just hop in. 99% chance he wouldn’t even stir.

He knows your scent so you could never surprise him by just rolling up and coming in for a snuggle.

He is a mini furnace. Between his hoodie and mountain of pillows, you really don’t need a blanket.

Doesn’t move once he is asleep and it is impossible to move him. If you are cuddling before he falls asleep you’re stuck there till he wakes up.

You will miss your morning class. But that’s your own fault. You knew what you were signing up for when crawling into bed with him.

🛏: Describe three specific items that are in your room:

I love this question so much!! I’m basically an anxious turtle, and my room has always been my shell. It feels like both an exterior reflection of who I am, and somewhere I can retreat back into.

The floor is covered with this huge antique rug that I bought when I was 20. It’s from the 1920s and is this warm and feminine floral blend of pastel purples, pinks, creams, deep browns and black. It’s gone through three houses with me, and it’s my cat’s favorite place to be. Whenever I come home she runs there so we can lay down on it together, as though she knows it’s the place we’ve sat together the longest (she’s also been through four houses with me).

Not long after I bought that rug I found this vintage vanity. It’s honestly in terrible condition, with the wood peeling in places and the mirror glass colored and distorted by age. But I love it so much. It’s delicate and Edwardian, with green velvet drawers and carved rosettes on all the corners. It’s where I always do my makeup and easily where I feel most like myself.

The last piece is this giant record player that I got as a present when I graduated college. It’s a modern recreation of an old Victorian gramophone, and is dark wood with gold details all over it. At the top is this magnificent gold sound horn that looks straight out of the 1890s. One of the back buttons is broken and I can’t find a replacement part so it hasn’t worked in over a year but I could never let it go 🥺

🍵: Top 3 favorite tea flavors?

Soooo don’t hate me…but I am definitely a coffee girl 👀

Just a plain coffee with a small kick of vanilla creamer is always my go to. I drink it every morning. But if I’m in a tea mood or am ordering at a coffee shop, I’ll usually get a chai tea. The flavors are just perfect and I still get the creaminess I like from coffee.

But if I’m sick or otherwise don’t want coffee or caffeine, I’ll have a peppermint tea. Mainly just to smell it, but also because it has that perfect refreshing feeling while also being so warming and comforting.

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for? I’m so excited for the 1910s-30s. It basically encompasses my favorite world event and favorite period of time in US history. WW1 has been a fixation of mine for a few months now so I’m trying to make it as accurate as I can in this challenge. Then the 20s-30s is just so fun. I love the Roaring 20s. 

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB) This is so bad but I never remember where I get my cc, my mods folder is a wreck. Probably everything I have from happylifesims absolute iconic 

3. Who is your favorite sim currently? I love them all but I love little Florence lots. If her story wasn’t going to be similar to what we’ve already had, I’d follow her. She’s such a fun little kid, very smart and a bit of shit and I think she’ll stay that way. She’ll be popping up every now and again when we start following Isaac so I won’t abandon her 

4. What is your favorite world? You know I love Strangerville. It’s so pretty, I love the lighting and I love when it’s late-stage plantapocalypse and the sky gets all fucky. Besides that I really love Henford and Selvadorada

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused? Pretty gameplay atm, but it’s just very repetitive so that’s why. Tommy and Caroline’s stories have pretty much closed out and the kids won’t have their stories start for a while yet which is why I wanna timeskip a bit because it’s just the same. Now that Jacob is a teen it should be less samey for me to play. I have a story in mind and I have ideas for what I want to do going up into the 80s even, so it’s just a bit boring at the moment because the big event I need to kick us off is world war 1 and that’s like 10 years off yet

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves? I don’t tend to play with pets in my normal saves, so not really. They’re cute but taking care of however many sims is enough without adding a pet into the mix. If it’s just 1 or 2 sims I might

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game? Everyone keeps going on their freaking phones. ALSO both Jacob and Isaac have had the bear phase and I refuse to deal with it and then they get sad because I won’t let them in their historically inaccurate bear suit.

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB) Anything from cottage living is a godsend, especially the appliances. The icebox from cottage living and the one from realm of magic are my loves. Also all the historical music machines, like the gramophones and big ol radio/jukeboxes

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game? Historical gameplay-wise, I’d love more medieval stuff or like 40s-50s style televisions and stuff. In General, I want more complex relationship styles which would be useful for my gameplay going forward but I gotta use mods for this. Stuff like polyamory, marriages of convenience, that stuff. 

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer? Cottage Living 100%. There’s that one art deco-ish kit that I have that is gonna be killer in the 20s also but that’s just for me. I think Jungle Adventure also has some good build-buy stuff

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay? I honestly don’t think I have any. I have an arranged marriages mod but I don’t have to use it yet. Would be handy if you did a save way back in medieval times or something. 

12. What’s your ideal family size for playing? As few as I can get away with. I don’t love managing a lot of sims. The Beckhams are a house of 5 and the kids have been spaced out perfectly for my sanity so I’d say 5 is the best for me

13. Do you use poses? Not much. I get too annoyed at trying to set them up. I like to when I do family portraits and probably will for stuff like weddings or other general important story moments but for the time being I don’t see myself using poses a lot

14. Do you use any overrides in your game? Nope! I just imagine

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game? I tried very hard to but I decided it was too annoying. Caroline could barely cook anything I didn’t want them eating salads forever

16. What lifespan do you play on? Same as op ^ I like being able to track the exact year

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically? I’ve always kinda been a history guy. I love researching different time periods, I always loved looking at historical/vintage fashion, and it’s just always intrigued me. I think finding out about the decades challenge and ultimate decades challenge really got me into gear 

Tag Game for Historical Simblrs! 📖

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?

As far as actually playing the game? The 1900s. I really did a lot of gameplay and overall it was just a wholesome, pleasant time to play the game. However, it’s definitely my least favorite story wise and I feel like not a lot happened.

So as far as the actual plot goes, I’ve been looking forward to the 20s literally since I began this challenge. While difficult, it has also been so fulfilling to actually see it all come to life. Now, I’ve got my eyes set on the 1940s 👀

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB)

Oh this is…impossible 😅

I have gone through so many styles and eras already that I have mainstay pieces for each as well as pieces that just stop my heart. I think the one that I’m fixated on right now is Zelda’s 1920s bob. Of course she’s grown it out a bit now but it’s still iconic in my heart.

3. Who is your favorite sim currently?

Okay another one that is basically impossible. Because like, how do I pick between my pixel babies right now? Antoine and Jo are absolutely my baby angels, and are both my favorites at various points in the narrative.

But it’s so difficult to pick them as my overall favorite over Zelda, just because I’ve been playing and writing as Zelda quite literally since she was born.

4. What is your favorite world?

Currently? Willow Creek hands down. This is more because I’ve transformed it into New Orleans than it is because of any merit it has on its own. I use mods and put in a lot of work to make it look this way, but now, it’s by far my favorite.

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?

Well….I think we know the answer to this one 😂

Storytelling drives my gameplay without a doubt. I write very far in advance, and that plot is what determines how I tell the story. Often I try and recreate these things as close as possible in gameplay, but let’s be honest, that isn’t always easy in this game.

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?

Ah, not an awful lot. Because I’m usually in storytelling mode posing sims and trying to get from one scene to another, I can often find them cumbersome. Of course we did have Daisy in the 1900s and she was lovely to have at Darlington Cottage, but I think that’s because I was doing more gameplay in that era so it made more sense.

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?

Sigh. What always got me was when a family member from another world showed up at my sims doorstep or is just walking in the background. So I’m in downtown “New Orleans” and all of a sudden, oh look! There’s Virginia walking in the background of a scene.

Luckily now I have this mod to get everyone to stay in their world 😉

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)

Honestly, just to make my life easier, I often filter by Custom Content and call it a day. This is especially true in CAS because I find all the assets overwhelming, I don’t even really use many in-game items there (except for a pair of base game lace up boots I use constantly).

In BB I find there’s a number of small items that I like using, such as the BG coat rack, the flowers from Cottage Living, the round BG dining table, the Tiffany lamp from Cats and Dogs, and a number of others!

I also used quite alot of the Realm of Magic Assets in Zelda and Antoine’s apartment, so I’m really fond of those, especially the Art Nouveau parquet floorboards and wallpaper.

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?

This is a personal one for the story going forward (👀) but absolutely horses. Otherwise, I would love to see more functionality for music and bands in the game, maybe even with some vintage assets to complete that vibe.

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?

Like I’m sure most people would say, Cottage Living. It just offers so much gameplay for historical simmers as well as a gorgeous world that I’ve gotta select it (see my whole long list of pack recs here).

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?

The mod that is absolutely invaluable to me is Timeless. It is what allows me to get so many scenic screens without pesky objects in the way and also simply makes the worlds so much more immersive to me.

12. What’s your ideal family size for playing?

The 1900s Darlingtons are frankly as large as I can go with the family. So a household of six, max, plus maybe a pet. Even then, I get very overwhelmed. So I usually prefer households of 4-5 although I do also like a household of 3 with an only child 😉

13. Do you use poses?

Goodness gracious, yes. All the poses all the time for everything. Even when I try to use in game animations I get more annoyed that I can’t control the angles as much.

14. Do you use any overrides in your game?

I actually don't! I suppose it would be very useful but its just not really something I've ever delved into.

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game?

Yes, I played off the grid for all of the 1880s and 1890s. I now slightly regret it because this means I was taking all of my photos with candles, and that lead to that heavy yellow tone in all of my early interior photos.

I also played off the grid for most of the 1900s until darlington cottage got that upgrade that included the inside bathrooms. Best moment of the game lol

16. What lifespan do you play on?

I play with custom lifespan settings where 4 in game sim days equal 1 IRL year.

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically?

Whew. Well I was playing my own version of the NSB challenge that I wrote when I hit gen 6. This gen was meant to be a film star, so I kind of had this idea that as her career progressed, her fashion would also go through the eras of old Hollywood. Looking back, I now also realize that this was me getting fed up with the lack of time progression that inevitably comes from playing a “modern” legacy challenge.

Anywho, I was looking for CC for this when I came across the wonderful lookbooks of Pixelnrd. This of course led me to their challenge and I started reading one afternoon. By the next day I had the idea for the Darlingtons already forming in my head 🥹
