@undergrounddweller89 Happy Christmas my darling sunshine, I hope you enjoy this bit of fluff
———-
Feral sees one of these in a display window when out shopping with her grandfather.
Of course, one of the workers is just a tad bit worried such a tiny little girl might break a fragile thing.
One of the owners' snorts, he's a crystal troll. He dug it out himself. It looks fragile but it won't break.
Not even the rumored legion demon who breaks glass by looking at it can break his work. (He knows cause he made many things that were bought privately for the legion by people over the years).
So hearing this happy excited bouncing little girl talk about how her
Papa was sad his favorite cup got broken by accident.
Now she wants to get him a new one and this set was perfect.
After all it was almost Christmas and she wanted to him the best present.
And maybe several extra cups just in case.
Papa was funny sometimes and she didn't want anything to happen. Or for him to be sad again.
And if she found a set she knew her mommy would love too.
Plus a pretty large tanker that would hold more a barrel worth of ale but only looked like it would hold maybe a pint.
“I swear child you are encouraging your grandmother’s antics.” Her grandfather said shaking his head amused.
“But you always get upsetty when she drinks from the barrels.” The girl giggles.
If she asks for the matching one as well for him when her grandfather is looking at another set of glasses.
These are whiskey glasses muttering about his own father.
Well no one says a word but his little niece nods her head with a wide gap tooth smile.
The little girl returns it with her own. And like all small and young children he realizes they had made friends while he was talking to the older male.
He chuckles as his niece rushes off to wrap them for the girl. He was sure all the gifts would be wrapped and labeled perfectly.
At the end she also ended up finding a new tea set for herself as well, it was technically a doll's tea set.
She was just that small.
But damn him if he wasn't going to make all his works just as lovely as one meant for adults.
He was a master craftsman.
She picks more things and amusingly one of the workers jokes he’s sure she’s bought nearly half the shop.
He didn't realize at first, exactly how much the little girl had spent.
He expected her grandfather to pay for it all.
But the little girl pulled out a kitten-shaped coin purse out of her little satchel.
Then proceeded to get herself ready to pay. By opening it and counting something inside the bag a moment.
“Grandpa up please?” She asks holding up a hand.
"Feral sweetheart are you sure?" The older hellhound asked.
"Yes sir, my pockets money for today, Grandpa" She said sweetly.
Her grandfather chuckles picking her up and after seeing it’s okay gently sets her on the counter.
She pulls out one gold bar and stars to set it on the counter before noticing the jar next to her.
"What this?"
"Sweetheart.”
"Sorry. May I ask what its for?"
"Ah, that's my wife's donation jar. It's to help rebuild our stable for her horses and get repairs for her carriage. During that storm last month it got damaged and then burned down.
"Oh! Were the horsies hurt?" Feral asks with wide worried green eyes.
"Well they got startled pretty badly and then set the rest of the stable on fire.
"Oh dats no good." She says then asks.
"Can helps?"
Well, who was he to deny a young lady a chance to spend her allowance?
"Of course, you can..the goal is to fill at least two big jars here. We hope to get a basic stable built again. Plus some extra pampering for the horses.. my wife spoils them. They are her babies.” He chuckles.
"Then babies needs lots of loves." She says with a wide smile.
The other workers watch Feral stack several gold-like bars on the counter.
The pile is soon bigger than the little girl herself so she starts on a second then a third.
"For tea set!" She squeaks out happy.
What happens next caused his soul to leave him. w
When he finished counting it all, it was not only for her orders.
But for the orders for the rest of the day and for everyone who might come into the shop for the rest of the month.
Later his soul finally returned to his body and his partner finally stopped laughing, mostly so she could put her head back on, the damn dullahan that she was.
The woman was always losing her head. He still loved
her.
However, he was able to enjoy his own bit of laughter. He quickly caught her head after he handed over both of her donation jars now overflowing.
Plus there was the extra that hadn't fit in the jar that he had to put in a third jar he'd tell her about later.
"Is this…all for?" His wife stutters as he brings her head up to peck her on the lips.
"Yes. All for you and those six assholes, enough to cover that carriage of yours in all the black gold and silver if you want." He says kissing her sweetly.
"Plus new armor...blacksmith business card in one jar, its from the Hellhound Armory."
"Put me back on my body right now. We've got things to do."
"Of course.”
"In the bedroom."
Well, there went going to the mine without being too sore..well at least it was the good kind.
****
Christmas morning dawns early when you have little ones.
Though instead of Feral being the early riser in their household it was Acylius much to his wife’s amusement.
She loved how excited he was.
How perfect they both wanted their daughters memories to be.
“Huh lot more gifts this year from Feral to you love.” Amy says sipping her coffee as she watched him fuss with the last of Ferals presents from Krampus.
“What do you mean?” Lulu says before looking over the huge pile of slightly wokny wrapped presents that were clearly done by the small girls hands. “Oh my Grandpa. Amy she..she wrapped them herself. I’m gonna cry..”
“Please don’t flood the living room just yet. I don’t have my umbrella or buckets.” Amy chuckles before they heard the excited squealing of Feral and someone shouting.
“Child on the ceiling!”
“Papa! Mama!” Feral squealing happily dives for her fathers face hugging him tigtly. “Love you both…happy Christmas. Papa open his present from me first?”
“After we settle okay?” Lulu chuckles.
Once all are settled Feral quickly hands out a few gifts and many open them.
With her grandparents of course loving the ale mugs and her grandfather blushing darkly when her grandmother growled seductively about a new supply of wolves bane ale they’d got as a gift from his. father.
“Papa mine now peas?”
“Alright yours now.”
Lulu chuckles accepting the carefully wrapped blue paper.
Feral gigggles as Amy hides her own smile as the paper goes flying.
“It’s my..my…how?” Lulu stares in aw.
He turns the delicate looking cup over in his hand.
“It’s not..not breaking?” He say’s confused.
“Yeah! I got it super duper extra super special just for you papa!” She says with a wide smile showing off her wide gape tooth smile.
Lulu sniffles.
“Papa this one next! This one!” She says handing him another box. “This one! This one!”
“Okay baby give papa a moment,” Amy says gently.
“It’s alright my dear.” Lulu chuckles opening the box and blinks back more tears.
It was a tea pot similar to the he’d broken in anger from breaking his favorite cup.
The next several boxes were a few more cups.
“So papa will always have extras. So never sad again.” Feral explains.
He smiles kissing her head before opening another box.
This one marked from the merchant a special gift for father and daughter.
“Feral sweetheart, papa needs help with this one.” Lulu says.
They shared grins before paper went flying every which way.
And Lulu did cry as Feral squeals in joy.
“Mama look it’s me and Papa!”
Inside was a not only a matching pair of tea cups that said Papa bird and baby bird with their own little tea bot done beautifully to look up like delicate glass.
But a crystal like music box.
Amy gently picked it up and wound the box.
Instantly a cello tune that was Feral’s favorite lullaby played. It was clearly a recorded version of Acylius’s playing.
Images sprang forth of tiny Feral and Lulu dancing in the snow as the it slowed to end.
The Lulu on the box picked up Feral rocking her as her eyes closed and fell asleep.
In front of the box the real Lulu held his daughter close.
Kissing her forehead.
“Thank you baby, happy Christmas.”
“Happy Christmas Papa,” Feral says with a yawn having heard her lullaby. “I love you..forever.”
“I love you too.”

this comic is so good tho?
like it has almost nothing to do with the OG agents of atlas except that jimmy woo and an extremely sus dragon are here, but it's so much fun, and it introduced some really awesome characters to the mainstream marvel universe, most of whom had only appeared in video games or non-canon one-off comics previously
like White Fox, who is a kumiho (a korean fox spirit) who uses her magic powers to be a cool secret agent. or Luna Snow, a k-pop idol who's marketting gimmick is that she's also a superhero. Genuinely don't know how it took marvel as long as it did to come up with that one, tbh, it feels like a pretty natural progression of a lot of the fame vs responsiblity stories they told about characters like spider-man over the years. And it reintroduced some characters who'd been awol for a while, like Amadeus Cho and Silk.
Also, a tech company uses portal technology they learned from a morally dubious dragon (never trust a dragon if you're in a book with agents of atlas in the name, is the lesson here) to create a scifi megacity that can be instantly teleported to from any of the most populous cities in asia and the biggest asian diaspora communities elsewhere in the world, and starts taking in refugees no where else will house, but the other dragons all say they're up to no good and assemble a team of superheroes to investigate? That's a good set-up for a comic book!
it was absolutely greenlit as a corporate diversity excercise by marvel, that's never been a secret, but Greg Pak and Jeff Parker took that green light and ran with it, and created something really cool in the process

Whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you. And so will I.
Born to a turbulent family on a Mississippi farm, James Earl Jones passed away today. He was ninety-three years old. Abandoned by his parents as a child and raised by a racist grandmother (although he later reconciled with his actor father and performed alongside him as an adult), the trauma of his childhood developed into a stutter that followed him through his primary school years – sometimes, his stutter was so debilitating, he could not speak at all. In high school, Jones found in an English teacher someone who found in him a talent for written expression, and encouraged him to write and recite poetry in class. He overcame his stutter by graduation, although the effects of it carried over for the remainder of his life.
Jones' most accomplished roles may have been on the Broadway stage, where he won three Tonys (twice winning Best Actor in a Play for originating the lead roles in 1969's The Great White Hope by Howard Sackler and 1987's Fences by August Wilson) and was considered one of the best Shakespearean actors of his time.
But his contributions to cinema left an impact on audiences, too. Jones received an Honorary Academy Award alongside makeup artist Dick Smith (1972's The Godfather, 1984's Amadeus) in 2011. From the end of Hollywood's Golden Age to the dawn of the summer Hollywood blockbuster in the 1970s to the present, Jones' presence – and his basso profundo voice – could scarcely be ignored. Though he could not sing like Paul Robeson nor had the looks of Sidney Poitier, his presence and command put him in league of both of his acting predecessors.
Ten of the films James Earl Jones appeared in, whether in-person or voice acting, follow (left-right, descending):
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) – directed by Stanley Kubrick; also starring Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, Sterling Hayden, Keenan Wynn, and Slim Pickens
The Great White Hope (1970) – directed by Martin Ritt; also starring Jane Alexander, Chester Morris, Hal Holbrook Beah Richards, and Moses Gunn
Star Wars saga (1977-2019; A New Hope pictured) – multiple directors, as the voice of Darth Vader, also starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, David Prowse, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and Frank Oz
Claudine (1974) – directed by John Berry; also starring Diahann Carroll, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, and Tamu Blackwell
Conan the Barbarian (1982) – directed by John Milius; also starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sandahl Bergman, Ben Davidson, Cassandra Gaviola, Gerry Lopez, Mako, Valerie Quennessen, William Smith, and Max von Sydow
Coming to America series (1988 and 2021; original pictured) – multiple directors; also starring Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, John Amos, Madge Sinclair, Shari Headley, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, and KiKi Layne
The Hunt for Red October (1990) – directed by John McTiernan; also starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, and Sam Neill
The Sandlot (1993) – directed by David Mickey Evans; also staring Tom Guiry, Mike Vitar, Patrick Renna, Chauncey Leopardi, Marty York, Brandon Adams, Grant Gelt, Shane Obedzinski, Victor DiMattia, Denis Leary, and Karen Allen
The Lion King (1994) – directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, as the voice of Mufasa; also starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, Moira Kelly, Niketa Calame, Ernie Sabella, Nathan Lane, and Robert Guillaume, Rowan Atkinson, Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Jim Cummings, and Madge Sinclair
Field of Dreams (1989) – directed by Phil Alden Robinson; also starring Kevin Costner, Amy Madigan, Ray Liotta, and Burt Lancaster

His Real Home
Tails has an unhappy encounter with Amadeus of all people.
Tails barely remembered waking up. He barely remembered even walking out the door when he was grabbed by him.
The tall dark man had him by the elbow, fist holding on so tight his arm had fallen asleep.
He must also be asleep because the man holding his arm was taking him somewhere, and he wasn't fighting back. Why wasn't he fighting back? He didn't want to go with him. And he was gripping at his arm and it hurt so bad and- Why have they stopped?
The kit looked around at the dark forest surrounding them, the silhouettes of three dark figures in front of them.
"Tails?" A familiar female voice called out of one of them. "Tails what are you doing out here with- A light shone on the fox that had Tails in a tight grip. The familiar dark brown with black-tipped ears he'd remember anywhere.
"Amadeus?" He called up to him. Pulling at his arm as danger signs flashed in his mind. The grip on his elbow only grew tighter. "Amadeus, let me go." But the fox didn't, and now he was dragging him somewhere farther away from the silhouettes and he couldn't get free and he wasn't going to get free and oh my God where is he taking him? Can't be anywhere good, right? No not with Amadeus, he couldn't go anywhere good with his sperm donor. Was he going to die?
"Amadeus let me go." He said again firmly, dragging his feet to stop himself from going much farther. Maybe then his friends could catch up with him.
"Sonic!" He called to the shadows in the distance. "Sonic help me!"
Suddenly, an intrudingly bright light lit up around them, and Tails winced under the harsh glow.
"Tails?" Sonic called over to him, the bright cerulean glow of the familiar hedgehog coming closer and closer to him. "Tails what are you- "
"Help!" Tails managed to get out before a dark paw reached over his muzzle, effectively shutting him up.
"Hey!" A gruff voice shouted. The owner of which came closer to them. "Unhand the fox.
"This does not concern any of you."
"You taking our little buddy here in the middle of the night doesn't concern us?"
"I'm taking him back to his real home."
"We are his real home!"
Tails scratched at the paws holding his muzzle shut, the deep desire to finally bite the man overcoming his fear. But before he could he felt the earth tilt at his feet as a heavy force came after the man holding him.
Amy put her hammer away and helped Tails back to his feet. "As we were saying our kit friend here isn't going anywhere with you. Now leave."
"I-"
"Leave!" She held her hammer up to strike the fox again, but she didn't get far enough as Tails dusted himself up and collected himself in those ten seconds.
"Leave!" She held her hammer up, ready to strike, only to be stopped by her fox kit friend holding a paw up in front of her.
"What do you want Amadeus?" He asked looking back at Amadeus.
"Your mother needs a kidney." The fox huffed.
"Well, she's not getting it from me."
"How dare you. That vixen gave you life. The least you could do with your sorry existence is keep her alive. She's your mother."
"She is not my mother, you both made that very clear when you kicked me out."
"I'm getting that organ if I have to tear it out of you myself."
"Wow, onto threat now are we? Well, Amadeus, well, I think this conversation is over then, you should hit the road because you're not getting anything out of me. Bitch."
"What did you say?!" A mean look came over the fox's muzzle.
"Lose an eardrum in the war too? You- "Tails fell back on the ground, holding the left side of his face, blood leaking out from under his paw. There were more threats and yelling and more threats after that, but all Tails could hear was the sound of Amadeus' slap across his face.
Soon with a few more threats with Amy's hammer, Amadeus begrudgingly agreed to leave Tails be. And Tails was gently lifted into a ticked off Sonic's arms.
Then they sped home. His real home was miles away from either Amadeus or Rosemary. The house he shared with the best brother in the world. Far into the Mystic Ruins where no one could ever hurt him again.
