J'écris très souvent sur des gens obsédés, des gens qui ont des obsessions. Leur obsession récurrente, c'est de transformer l'autre en symbole. Parfois en symbole de tout ce qu'il y a de mauvais dans le monde, parfois en symbole de tout ce qu'il y a de bon dans le monde. Mais une demande revient sans cesse dans mes romans, et s'adresse à beaucoup de gens : « Ne transformez pas autrui en symbole. Autrui est un individu, un être humain, non un symbole. » À partir du moment où l'on transforme un groupe humain en symbole — les juifs sont un symbole, les Arabes sont un symbole, les femmes sont un symbole —, rien de bon ne pourra plus arriver.

I libri, loro non ti abbandonano mai. Tu sicuramente li abbandoni di tanto in tanto, i libri, magari li tradisci anche, loro invece non ti voltano mai le spalle: nel più completo silenzio e con immensa umiltà, loro ti aspettano sullo scaffale.

C'era come la sensazione che mentre gli uomini vanno e vengono, nascono e muoiono, i libri invece godono di eternità. Quand'ero piccolo, da grande volevo diventare un libro. Non uno scrittore, un libro: perché le persone le si può uccidere come formiche. Anche uno scrittore, non è difficile ucciderlo. Mentre un libro, quand'anche lo si distrugga con metodo, è probabile che un esemplare comunque si salvi e preservi la sua vita di scaffale, una vita eterna, muta, su un ripiano dimenticato in qualche sperduta biblioteca a Reykjavik, Valladolid, Vancouver.

Il fanatico è sempre molto altruista. È più interessato agli altri che a se stesso. Prova sempre a salvarti l'anima o a cambiarti, oppure ti aiuta a "vedere la luce". Vive la sua vita solamente attraverso le altre persone. Naturalmente se non può cambiarti ti ucciderà. Ma lo farà perché ti ama, non perché ti odia…

Credo che il senso dell'umorismo sia una grande cura. Non ho mai visto una persona dotata di humor diventare un fanatico. E non ho mai visto un fanatico con il senso dell'umorismo, perché possederlo significa saper ridere di se stessi...

And talks about feminism and how she admitted she has white privileges. She said she wants to debunk the police because her colored friends don't get the same treatment as her. But, she is quiet about Palestine and is not saying anything. She labels herself white in America but always supports israel. She admitted she has blood from European ancestry who moved to Israel due to the Holocaust for shelter. Proving that Palestine was the original country.

It's ironic that to her animal's lives are more sacred to her than Palestinians. I used to have gifs of the movie tale of love and darkness on my blog. The point of view of a Jewish boy in Israel. Funny how Palestinian movies gets cancelled. So, I watched it. The main character wanted to tell a pretty Arab girl that both people should live in Israel in peace. Ironically. He mentioned in the book and not the movie ....

This movie lied to me. I am so disappointed.

So call me a cunt and pos and whatever. These were celebrities I used to worship and was stupid to believe in their lies. I hate Hollywood.

Credo che i rimedi migliori contro i fascismi siano la curiosità, il senso dell'umorismo, l'apertura mentale e una certa capacità di indossare i panni degli altri. La curiosità è una forza morale. Un prerequisito per l'elaborazione del pensiero. È fuori di dubbio. Tuttavia la curiosità è anche una benedizione morale. Penso che una persona curiosa sia una persona migliore. Una moglie, un marito migliore, un vicino migliore. Per dirla tutta, credo anche che un curioso sia un amante migliore rispetto a una persona che non lo è. La curiosità è liberatoria. Se fossimo più curiosi, aperti e fantasiosi sono certo che il mondo diventerebbe un luogo più bello.
