Veteran Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently basking in the landslide success of his film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, has almost confirmed that his son, Abhishek Bachchan stars in the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film ‘King’.

On Tuesday, Big B took to his X and quoted a tweet from a fan club of Abhishek. The tweet spoke about Abhishek’s side as an antagonist and shared that the actor will be seen in a negative role in ‘King’ which also stars SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan.

Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar fame art director Nitin Desai dies at 57 by suicide

Celebrated art director and producer, Nitin Chandrakant Desai died by suicide on Wednesday. He was 57 years old. As reported, Desai was found dead at one of the studios in Karjat, Maharashtra. While an investigation is still in action, Police have said that it looks like a case of death by suicide. Somnath Gharge, SP, Raigad said in a statement said, “Today morning, Shri Nitin Desai’s body was found hanging in ND Studios. We are investigating all angles.” Desai’s last rites will be performed on Friday.

It is to be noted that Desai was under immense financial pressure after he had defaulted on a Rs 252-crore loan to a financial creditor and the court was entertaining an insolvency petition against his company last week. Desai’s company, ND’s Art World Pvt Ltd was under a huge debt as it had borrowed Rs 185 crore through two loans from ECL Finance in 2016 and 2018. While the company made timely repayments at the beginning, it dwindled after January 2020.

Many people expressed their grief on Desai’s death including one of his close friends and BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde. “I used to often speak and counsel him. I had told him Amitabh Bachchan had faced immense losses and come back again. We had told him that even if the studio was attached due to loans, he could start afresh. It’s very sad to hear about his death,” Tawde was reported saying.

Director Vivek Agnihotri wrote, “I am heartbroken and sad beyond control to learn about my dearest friend Nitin Desai’s death. A legendary Production designer, a visionary who made ND Studio… Nitin not only loved Pallavi and I, he always guided me even in films we didn’t do together. Why Nitin, why? ॐ शांति।”

Akshay Kumar also tweeted about the untimely death of Desai and said : Unbelievably sad to know about the demise of Nitin Desai. He was a stalwart in production design and such a big part of our cinema fraternity. He worked on so many of my films… this is a huge loss. Out of respect, we are not releasing the OMG 2 trailer today. Will launch it tomorrow at 11 am. Om Shanti.”
