Dark Kingdom Rising

I did it. I finally finished this! My life has been so crazy lately and I've been chipping away at this chapter for months whenever I have found a moment to. But it's finally done and this concludes the first part of my Dark Kingdom Rising series! This chapter is extra long to make up for all the time it took to get it finished. I do have a few things to talk about in regards to the next part and it will be in the next paragraphs if you want to read it.

So the next part won't be done for quite some time, like another year or even two. Partly because I am still working full time while my husband and I figure out our next steps in life. The other part is that I am actually pregnant and due in a few months! We will see how this goes for our little family and how I handle having another human being to keep alive haha. I am still very passionate about finishing up this series and will be working on it when I get the chance. I also have several other AU's and art stuff I want to work on (they will mostly be posted to my Tumblr). So the pace will be slow but steady when it comes to getting the next part done. But it will get done!

Also, the next part of the series will start to have more mature content and implications in regards to sexual relationships. There will be no explicit scenes written in these chapters, but there will be times it's heavily implied, jokes are made, people (HECTOR) have very strong urges, etc. I will be writing out some of the explicit scenes and posting them in a separate folder for those who want to read it, but the main chapters/series will stay away from anything explicit in that regard.

Werewolf AU Baby!

I've had this idea for quite some time and I finally got the whole rough draft done and now the first part done! I'm hoping the next part should be up soon, but we will see how everything goes.

I LOVE the idea of the Brotherhood having ties to werewolves. It just fits so well with all the Moon connections with the Dark Kingdom. Plus, Hector gives me such werewolf vibes on his own and I think the Brotherhood as a whole being a pack just fits them.

Dark Kingdom Rising

Finally a happier chapter!!! It's fitting because things in my life are going much better. There's been a lot of changes, but I am happy to report that I will have a job soon and so we are avoiding a big crisis. This will affect the next part of this fic as I won't have a whole summer to work on it like I anticipated, but we will see how things go! There will be a more detailed update in the next chapter (which is the end of this first part and I can't believe it!!!). The next chapter might take an extra week to post as well, I will post about it if so.

Old abandoned grocery store repurposed as a library

After a few months of work, I finally got my art project done! It's for Halloween and Day of the Dead! I've always loved Dia de los Muertos and the skull make up that is done for it. I just had to draw my favorite characters in it. Below the cut is more info on their designs and why they have all this done!

I'll start with their designs. From reading more about Dia de los Muertos, colors have different meanings when it comes to the sugar skulls and make up used in this holiday. The biggest color I wanted to incorporate between the three of them was purple. Purple is the color of grief, pain, and more specifically losing a loved one. Purple candles are used and lit on the ofrendas (altars made to place pictures of loved ones that have passed on) to show the loss of a loved one. Each of them deserved to have purple because of the hard lives that each of them has lived.

I also tried to make their color palates match their personalities. Adira is more warm, bright, and vibrant. Hector is somber, dark, and off-putting. Quirin is a good middle ground as for the warm/coldness of the colors, but show cases his love of plants.

And now the reason why they are all painted up. My OC Amelia Renya from my Dark Kingdom Rising fic hails from French and Latino roots. In this world, her country celebrates a holiday very similar to Dia de los Muertos. I figure that around the holiday she was sad that she wouldn't be celebrating it and ends up telling the Brotherhood about it. Hector and Adira enthusiastically tell her they'd love to celebrate it with her and want to try out the face painting. Quirin wants to help her celebrate it as well.

This was such a fun project to do (albiet it was a little daunting and hard at times). I also did pics of Rapunzel and Moon Cassandra that I will be posting separately and soon after this!

Hector x Amelia thoughts

So in my fic my OC Amelia is good at playing cards right? Well, I'm sure that after her and Hector get together that they sometimes play together and Hector can get a little competitive. Hector then starts practicing with others to try and get good enough to beat her. Adira warns him that she is pretty good, but he's convinced that he can do it.

Finally, he challenges her to a game of strip poker. Amelia gladly accepts. And this is the result of that challenge.

Let's just say Hector could use some more practice. (No one is naked in the pic I promise!!)

Shout out to @xannerz and @pennumbra on the underwear idea for Hector. 🤣

I got it finished! (for the most part) I did forget her ear cuff jewelry, but I'll get that done another time. This dress was a beast to get done and big shoutout to @pennumbra for helping me with the colors. I really struggle with color palettes. It's also been a very stressful and hard week for me so I am still proud I got this done in time to post with the next chapter of my fic!

@pennumbra and @xannerz also helped me out with the belt and necklace choice. I was stuck between two ideas I had drawn out and they helped me choose.

It's back baby!!! Thank y'all for your patience and I'm so glad I took that break. The holidays were really rough for me. Lots of family stuff and stress with my own children got me into a kind of slump, but I'm slowly coming out of it. I'm so happy to be back to posting my story and to finish up this first part of the Dark Kingdom Rising.

I am so pumped for these next two chapters!!!! They are all about the Winter Ball that, in the past, has been a yearly and large event for the DK. There will be lots of fluff and feelings!!!! This and the next chapter were the few chapters I hadn't finished....until now. I really struggled with this chapter due to all the dialogue and the amount of characters I had to create. (Making up names for characters is going to get me killed one day.) Plus making sure it seemed professional enough to be in a diplomatic setting such as this.

Fair warning for you readers as well, the last bit of this entire first part of The Dark Kingdom Rising will start to deal with some heavy stuff. All chapters will have more detailed and appropriate warnings in the chapter summary. I will also be separating off some areas with asterisks (**) to help warn for specific parts. Just a heads up!
