Hey there! Thank you so much for the Persona Anthology translation. I want to ask about this, do you translate the ones you own only or the ones are sent to you if you don't have them? Also do you plan on translating some doujinshi in the future? Again thanks for everything! :D
Hi hi! You actually asked me right as I was working on another translation!
(This one is centered on the Suou brothers, hope youre excited!)
I'm currently working on translating the ones I own. However, I will gladly translate raw scans of any megaten manga that are sent my way, provided they're good enough quality that I can read them (especially the furigana! I barely know the a1 kanji...). All I need, to avoid future issues, is permission from whoever scans them. If it is you, fantastic! If you downloaded them from somewhere, well, I'll need permission from the original uploader.
(Ive actually translated a good couple of Raidou and smt ii 4koma comics but can't post them due to not remembering who the original scanner was. I know it's not illegal -i mean, all of this is a dark grey in terms of Law already-, but I like to give credit where credit is due and I feel extremely rude otherwise.)
As for doujinshi... I'm told these books count, since theyre fanmade and sold with atlus permission (probably), but they could get a little tricky... Again, because of our friends, the kanji. These comics have -rule of thumb- furigana to accompany the kanji (hiragana on top of the characters to show how they are read), while other fanmade stuff usually lack this, since to native speakers (readers) its pretty much unnecessary. And if we're talking about a... ahem, Certain, type of doujinshi, I can tell you I'll avoid those for the time being, many sorries.
(Another topic you didn't ask about, but I've been meaning to mention, is uploading them to sites like mangadex. I'm totally alright with it! Also with people retranslating my stuff from my raws. Though I'd only ask you don't, I can't underline it on mobile but imagine, don't link to my tumblr. I have nightmares with attracting the wrong kind of attention from people outside the site and getting bugged by rude anons... Simply putting the "Dragon was here!" symbol is good enough for me!)
BUT YES tl;dr or dttm (dragon talks too much)
As soon as I'm done translating the books I currently own, I'll gladly translate all megaten mangas you send me provided their resolution is enough to read the hiragana.
If you see a post here, like a comic, that you want me to translate, @/me and lll give it a shot!
I don't have plans, as of right now, to translate (sfw) doujinshi due to lack of the Little Hiragana that help you read the kanji. See point 2 for shorter comics!
The other type of doujinshi... I won't translate. すみません。
(also if anyone wants to send me the physical books for some reason - thank you! But i can't accept. New EU VAT laws means the post office will basically just throw it away (still mad about my raidou book!) And id rather not share my address)
And thank YOU lovely folks for reading my translations and sharing them around!
#Thank you for the question! There are other folks translating the persona 2 comics as well#You can see them in the directory! If it hasnt broken ....#persona 2#Also if anyone wants to retrandlate or rework my raws then go ahead!#Again i dont even have n5 level in japanese and i#As you can imagine#Am not the most knowledge about japanese culture and slang of the early 2000s
