A figment of my worst intentions
Tumblr media
Gemma is irate.
She keeps her cool, a fantastic feat, while you’re on the phone with her. She likes you. You’re direct, not easily ruffled or thrown off balance. You’re a fantastic businesswoman: sharp, highly intelligent, and even-keeled. But most importantly, you make Chibs happy, genuinely happy. So when you call out of the blue, asking questions about Althea Jarry, Gemma can pick up the nervous timber to your voice when you ask your questions.
What do you know about Sheriff Jarry? What was her relationship with Filip? What happens on MC runs? And the question that cut straight to her heart: do I have anything to worry about? That question raised her hackles.
“Look, if Chibs told you he isn’t-”
“No,” you immediately cut her off. “Not Chibs. Jarry. Do I have anything to worry about with her. You know, sugar in my gas tank, sniper on the rooftops in downtown Charming?”
Gemma releases the breath she had been holding. Of course you weren’t concerned with Chibs. You didn’t suffer fools at all just from the handful of times she had met you. If you had concerns about Chibs, you wouldn’t have even picked up the phone to call her. But she also doesn’t want to alarm you. When Althea Jarry was concerned, yes, there was something to worry about. The fact that she was talking to you, threatening you in a subtle, underhanded way, was enough to worry about. She’s a crooked cop and there’s nothing that would prevent her from making your life miserable if she chose to do so.
“No, sweetheart,” Gemma says, “you don’t have anything to worry about.”
It’s Jarry that has to worry. Gemma hangs up the phone and immediately picks up her purse and keys. She has to admit, she was concerned when Jax stepped down and Chibs took up the gavel. Her concern grew the first time she saw you walk through the door of the clubhouse to drop off something to Chibs. Strength recognizes strength and if ever came to a power struggle between the two of you, Gemma was nervous you might get the upper hand. There was something about you, a wily edge of someone who had the uncanny luck of escaping bad situations.
“So you’re Chibs’ Old Lady.”
“Yeah, I guess I am.” You scrunch up your nose. “God, that’s an awful term.”
Gemma crosses her arms. “Yeah, apparently they didn’t consult with any women when they came up with them.”
Your eyes wander around the clubhouse. “It doesn’t look like women were consulted with anything in here either.”
“Does that mean you won’t be around much or you planning on redecorating?”
Your eyes narrowed for the briefest of moments as you process the undertone and hidden meaning behind the question. Are you going to make moves to take over as the matriarch or is Gemma’s position safe in the club? You answer by holding up a set of keys.
“I was just dropping off my apartment keys to Filip. I’m heading out for the Labor Day Classic and just in case I get hurt, I want him to be able to get into the apartment.”  You look around the bar area. “If you do redecorate though, I would suggest something easily washable.”
Gemma smiled. The hidden meaning of your answer ringing through loud and clear. You had no plans of inserting yourself into club business. You weren’t threatened or distrustful of what happened here. “Yeah, and fire retardant too.”
The two of you had started to become friendly towards each other. You were slowly becoming one of the few female friends that Gemma had and she isn’t about to let Jarry mess with this set-up. Gemma liked you. Chibs was completely in love with you and happier than she had seen him in a long time. Things are going well.
“Where you headed to, Mami?” Nero asks her as she climbs into the SVU.
“I have to go set a crooked cop straight.” She gives him a wry smile and kisses him on the cheek. “Get the bail money ready just in case.”

The Devil’s Magpies
"Magpies are closely related to Crows."
Dee Henley hand-picked her girls from the streets of California, giving them all the one thing they needed the most: a family. All she asked for in return was their undying loyalty. When they're forced to relocate to the town of Charming, their survival depends on an alliance with a notorious M.C., forcing the girls to adapt to new challenges, and new allies.

Here’s why Sons of Anarchy matters.
In the first episode, we see America’s drug epidemic when Wendy OD’s and Abel is born premature with half of a stomach because she’s a junkie, even though she knew the dangers.
We see the recurring theme of criminals circumventing the system or paying them off to make sure they don’t get in trouble. Wayne Unser and Althea Jarry are examples of this.
We see Gemma’s rape, and why she doesn’t report it. Because the man who ordered it was Ethan Zobelle, and he was respected and seen as a good man.
We see how Agent Stahl’s manipulations get people killed, the most notable being Donna.
We see how the government blackmails people with nothing else to lose to risk their lives.
We see the Galindo cartel being backed by the CIA, trading drugs in America, to keep another cartel unbalanced and out of control.
We see how guards are paid off to turn a blind eye to what happens in prison. We see Otto’s rape at the hands of the prison guards, Opie’s death because one is paid off, and how they turn a blind eye to everything that happens to Juice.
We see how the system doesn’t work.
We see the bad, but we also see the good.
We see men calling each other brother, and not being afraid to show their affection for each other. They tell each other that they love each other, and it’s seen as natural.
We see these men show emotion, we see them crying, we see them angry, we see them happy.
We see a transwoman who’s never made fun of, we see how much everyone respects Venus.
If anyone has something to add, feel free.

Scorned: Chibs Telford X Reader
Sheriff Jarry discovers her ex fling has moved on and is none too happy about it.
Don't know how far I'll go with this, but I have a couple of ideas if anyone is interested in more. It's pretty short thus far as it's just an idea I had.
====
“We won’t be taking strolls down main street hand and hand, picking out furniture, and whatever other shite normal couples do.”
Chibs Telford said it himself during one of her attempts to shove him from her life. He had insisted he was not going to make up his mind for her.
For Althea Jarry her entire relationship with Chibs Telford had been one of push and pull.
Jarry pulled from Chibs more often than not, always second guessing the choice to fall into bed with him; always frustrated that he closed himself off from her.
He could not be what she wanted him to be. He could not be entirely open with her about the club, always so sure that anything he told her could be used against him. She had always felt as though she could not quite be satisfied with the pattern they’d fallen into.
The sex was great but the push and pull between them created an unhappy environment that at times had devolved into physical altercations and screaming matches.
They were toxic in the truest sense of the word.
In the end Chibs Telford had finally pulled from her for good.
She had known that he was not able to give her what she had wanted in the end. He had said it himself. He was a criminal and she was a cop. In the end he had told her that they should go back to those roles and not cross paths again.
He had warned her not to get on the wrong side of the MC and it had been clear to Althea Jarry then that there was no love between Chibs Telford and herself.
The comment about not strolling down main street hand and hand rang through her head as Althea sat in her cruiser, her eyes landing on her ex and a pretty woman doing the very thing Chibs had insisted that he would never do.
She felt a distinct twinge of jealousy and hurt hit her all at once at the sight of them.
Chibs had insisted that they would never walk down main street picking out furniture but it seemed that he was doing that very activity with the young woman he was holding so close to him as they paused in front of a shop peering through a window seemingly locked in conversation.
It seemed that Chibs Telford was not incapable of engaging in such a domestic activity; it seemed as though he had just been unwilling to engage in that activity with Jarry.
Jarry could admit that after Jax Teller’s death she had taken a sabbatical. She had needed to step away from Charming for a while.
She had not anticipated coming back to discover that the man she had regretted getting away had moved on.
She had not had long to gaze upon the happy couple when a call had come in through her radio forcing her to pull from main street and from the hurt blossoming in her chest.
She did not entirely seek out her ex fling’s newest partner, not on purpose.
She had spotted the young woman a week later at the retail space down the street from Scoops and Sweets, the former ice cream shop that had been operating as SAMCRO’s clubhouse.
The young woman was cute; Jarry hated to admit it. The soft little pink dress and the black cardigan she was wearing screamed sweetness. She clearly favored vintage pieces. The red heart shaped sunglasses resting on top of her head only increased the cute factor she seemed to exude. She could probably be easily described as feminine and adorable. Jarry hated her in an instant.
It was irksome to realize Chibs had chosen some cute little quirky thing to romance so openly and proudly.
Jarry watched as the young woman exited her car heading up to a retail space carrying groceries in her arms. Jarry had known it was not entirely a sensible act but she had found herself approaching the young woman a little nagging voice in the back of her head insisting that she had to know what this woman had that Jarry herself had lacked. Just what had Chibs Telford seen in this young woman to change his mind about being so domestic?
The words had left Jarry’s lips before she could stop them. “You’re new in town?”
Y/N gazed up at her apparent conversation partner, her brow furrowing a bit thrown off by the random comment. “I am.”
“Sheriff Jarry, I like to introduce myself to all of our residents.” Jarry remarked the lie sliding from her lips causing Y/N’s brow to furrow all the more.
She pushed back any alarm bells going off telling her that this was an odd interaction especially given what she knew about her boyfriend. “Y/N.”
“This is your storefront?” Jarry asked peering up at the antique shop a frown crossing her features at the realization that Chibs had apparently picked a young woman with such a normal career.
“It is. It was a steal, a retail space with living quarters upstairs. You don’t find rent that cheap in the big city.” Y/N responded attempting to keep polite though this entire interaction gave her the oddest sense that this was no innocent introduction.
“I imagine it was cheap rent…given the types that take up right down the street from you. I’m assuming you’ve met our local motorcycle club.” Jarry remarked unable to stop herself from prodding and poking the bear.
Y/N raised a brow at the comment quickly realizing that this sheriff most likely was well aware of SAMCRO’s tendency to be a little less than law abiding. “I am familiar.”
“Just how much do you know about them?” Jarry remarked poking all the more unable to stop herself.
She had to hope that perhaps this young woman was unaware of Chibs’ past and perhaps revealing the truth would push her away.
Y/N cleared her throat already having received instruction on how to respond to this type of question. “They’re just a group of motorcycle enthusiasts. Pretty sure they’re running some kind of adult entertainment production studio.”
“You’re comfortable dating someone who’s involved in such a seedy business?” Jarry dared to ask the question, making alarm bells ring off in the back of Y/N’s head.
Jarry spoke again trying to smooth over any alarm her comment may have caused. “I tend to know what’s happening in my town. People talk.”
“I tend to not pay attention to local gossips. No offense, sheriff, but I don’t feel that my romantic life is really anyone's business, especially not yours.” Y/N remarked her words sharp the need to be polite dropping from her tone.
Jarry held her hands up spotting the defenses that Y/N was pulling up. “I just thought I’d warn you, woman to woman. Chibs and I have history, he’s dangerous.”
Y/N scoffed at the comment, her stomach turning at the remark and the smug look on Jarry’s features at the declaration of this history between Chibs and her. “I don’t need your warnings. I think I know Filip well enough. Now, if you’ll excuse me.”
And with that she turned making her way upstairs leaving a fuming Sheriff Jarry in her dust.
Y/N slammed her door behind her, her mind going a mile a second. She was uncertain of what to make of that interaction but she didn’t like it.
She frowned, reaching into her purse dialing a familiar number, her stomach in knots, the words leaving her barely giving him time to say hello. “What do you know about a Sheriff Jarry?”
===========================================
Chibs knew he was taking a risk but he pulled his bike in front of the local police department anyhow.
His blood was boiling as he stared up at the familiar building. How many times had he been carted into the very same building in handcuffs?
He felt his blood boil all the more as he spotted her police cruiser pull into its usual spot.
He had never paid her a visit in the police department of course. They had always met at a parking garage out at the edge of town or at her place.
He was angry enough to want to approach her here though even if it carried a certain risk.
Chibs Telford had assumed he’d washed his hands of Sheriff Althea Jarry.
He knew they had not been good for one another. In the end they had been using each other. He had been using her to develop a relationship between the MC and a cop who was willing to look the other direction. The sex had just been a bonus. She had most likely had hopes that he might feed her information that she could use to her gain one day. There had been zero trust between them.
She had always pushed him away only to yank him back insisting that she wanted him. She gave him whiplash with all the pushing and pulling.
He had been the one to break it off in the end.
He had faced reality. Reality said that she was a cop and he was a criminal. They needed to face the truth sooner than later.
He could not deal with the dramatics from her nor the constant back and forth on if she wanted him or not.
He had to admit that in the end he was exhausted by the back and forth. He had realized that taking the president's patch meant that he had no time for the stress nor the misery that Jarry brought him.
When Y/N had called him announcing that the sheriff had proudly spouted off something about the history between them, Chibs had been irritated.
He couldn’t help but to fear that Jarry was attempting to sabotage the one sense of peace Chibs Telford had discovered in the chaos that had followed Jax Teller’s demise and Chibs' place as the President of SAMCRO.
Y/N had come into his life via Venus Van Dam. Tig’s ol lady had become fond of Y/N the young woman taking up shop down the street from the old Scoops and Sweets storefront.
When Chibs had been looking for the perfect gift for his daughter’s birthday Venus had suggested Y/N’s shop.
Y/N had helped Chibs pick the perfect bracelet for his Kerrianne and an odd friendship of sorts had blossomed.
He’d found himself wandering into her little shop more often than not, not quite working up the nerve to ask her on a proper date, sure that asking her in her place of work would be inappropriate.
It wasn’t until Venus had invited Y/N to a Friday night party that the Sons still did their best to put on even in their smaller clubhouse space, that Chibs had finally worked up the nerve to make a move.
Much to his relief Y/N had accepted the offer of a date and a romantic relationship had developed.
For the first time in so long Chibs Telford felt at peace.
The realization that a past fling was attempting to interrupt that peace made Chibs so enraged he could not see straight.
He slammed his hand against the glass pane of her police cruiser glaring down at her though he could not see her through the tinted windows.
Jarry felt a cold chill run down her spine she daring to open the driver's door, her voice tight. “Chibs.”
“What the hell do ye think yer doin?” Chibs spat out a dangerous edge clear in his voice.
“Going to work.” Jarry remarked deciding that playing dumb was the best route to take.
Chibs scoffed at the comment, his voice tight. “Ye stay the hell away from my ol lady.”
“Ol lady, how romantic.” Jarry remarked the words holding a sense of snark.
Chibs glared down at her his words still holding that dangerous edge. “Ye remember what I said bout cops who get on the wrong side of SAMCRO. Same shite goes fer anyone who gets on the wrong side of my ol lady. Trus me don’t try to come between me and someone I love, shite won’t end pretty fer ye.”
“What’s so special about her? You're a criminal, remember? You don’t walk down main street looking at furniture.” Jarry dared to ask her stomach turning at the obvious threat.
Chibs shook his head, his words harsh. “I do with her. I love her, that’s what is so special bout her. She knows jus what I am.”
He spoke again, his voice picking up that dangerous edge again. “Ye try to come between me and er again, I’ll remind ye of just what happens to cops who get on the wrong side of SAMCRO.”
Jarry felt a chill run down her spine as she watched Chibs Telford turn and walk away.
A voice in the back of her head told her to leave it be, but a stubborn voice spoke much louder bitter over the fact that Chibs Telford had been willing to give this young woman everything he had denied Jarry.
Jarry tensed her jaw knowing that she was playing with fire, but she could not let it go.
Chibs Telford had broken her heart and now he was giving some other woman all the things he had told Jarry he could not give her.
Though a voice in the back of her head told her that getting on the wrong side of Chibs Telford was a dangerous game, Jarry could not help but to feel like a woman scorned.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Chibs sat down at a desk in the corner that they used for the clubhouse. He hated that they even needed one, but more often than not, it seemed like it came in handy. They’d gotten a computer that “fell off a truck” a while back when the Sons were running protection for Montez. It was state of the art and loaded full of porn. Chibs shook his head as he closed all of the windows and cleared the cache and browser history the way Juice had taught him years ago. The guys looked at some weird shit. He made a mental note to talk to Tig and Happy about it.
Tig and Happy had left. Tig had to get Venus and Happy needed to get to his mom’s house for dinner or she would “string me up and let the animals get me.” He’d almost laughed at the idea, but he knew better. Happy didn’t get his… talent from a stranger. A few moments later, Chuckie came up with a plate with a cheeseburger and fries on it.
“Here ya go boss,” was all he said.
Chibs didn’t notice the look of concern on his friend’s face.
“Thanks, Chuck,” he muttered as he opened a search engine website.
Chuck left quietly and Chibs got about his business. He typed in the lass’s name and pressed enter. He didn’t know what he’d expected, but he hadn’t thought there would be so much. He added “1997” after her name and it brought up pictures and an article about the crash.
“…at one point having reached speeds over 120 mph. The chase eventually slowed and the driver lost control on the curve of North Union Street when the car hit a gravel patch. Local doctors say…” He clicked on the pictures of what used to be a car.
The next article was about how her ex-boyfriend stalked her and beat her to a pulp after she left him. She’d managed to call the MPs before passing out. Her ex-boyfriend had been caught as he was getting back to his place, eventually landing in prison for aggravated assault.
He was about to search for “engagement announcement” when Chuckie came back. Chibs just thought he was there to collect the dishes. He’d already gathered the ketchup cup and napkin for him.
“Thanks, Chuckie, delicious as always,” he handed the plate to him.
Chuckie took the plate but was fidgeting more than usual.
“Boss?” he asked tentatively.
“What is it, Chuck?”
“There’s an executive-type guy downstairs asking for you,” he sputtered.
“Shit,” he’d lost track of time. “Did you get him some food?”
Chuck shook his head, “Said he ate on the jet.”
“The jet?” he said to himself. “Was there a tiny hell-cat of a woman with him?” If Debbie was there, he needed to prepare himself for the verbal onslaught.
“Just a guy,” Chuckie said.
“Thanks, Chuck, be right down,” he told him.
The internet search would have to wait. He closed all of the windows and shut down the computer to follow Chuckie downstairs.
When you woke, you had no idea what the time was, but you figured it was early, the jailhouse was still quiet. You hadn’t slept very well, it was too quiet and too empty. You missed Chibs. You missed the way he wrapped himself around you and held you close.
He’d moved into your heart so quickly, it was hard to believe what you were feeling was real. When you were with him, you were home. Waking up without him next to you made you feel very lonely. You tried to reason with yourself.
“Stop it. It’s only been a few days, it’s just infatuation…or lust,” you told yourself. “Then why do I miss him and want to see him?” “Cuz you’re stupid and are acting like a teenager.” “I don’t think I am though, not really. He treats me better than anyone ever has, including Tom. I can be truly me when I am with him and he doesn’t care about all of the bullshit I’ve done.” You sighed, “Just try to enjoy it, however long it lasts.”
You quit berating yourself when the cellroom lights were flicked on and the sound of a commotion came from outside the room.
“You will NOT keep me from my client!” the voice said.
You knew Jack would have to call a lawyer. He could have done it, but he wasn’t licensed in California. The familiar staccato was getting closer. You shot up off the cot, almost standing at attention, waiting. It only took a few more moments for the clicking shoes and the person wearing them to be standing in front of you. Five feet, four inches of holy terror.
“This is a fine mess you’ve gotten yourself into,” she said.
“Hi Mom,” you said.
You listened as patiently as you could while your mother went on and on about how you were just like your father, always getting into trouble (“But at least HE grew out of it!”) and so on and so forth. Over the years, you’d gotten good at making it look like you were listening while your mind went to another place. You were wondering why your father worshiped the ground she walked on.
“Kiddo, your mom cares, a lot. Maybe too much. She’s hard on you because she cares. She’s been through a lot,” he’d told you. “Just try to remember that when she’s laying into you.”
He’d never told you to quit doing the things that drove her up the wall.
“What the hell are you smirking at?!” your mother demanded. “Were you even listening to me?”
“Yeah, I know. This is exactly what you warned me about. I’m more than old enough to make my own decisions. If I want to “ruin” my life, that’s up to me,” you told her.
“What did you do to get up this cop’s ass?” she asked you point blank, switching to lawyer mode.
You rolled your eyes, “She is a vindictive bitch that thinks she belongs with Filip.”
“Chibs? Are you shitting me? You can’t just get in with some dumb prospect, you gotta go for the fucking President of the club,” she was pacing now.
She either hadn’t talked to Filip yet, or she had and he hadn’t told her that you and he were together. Your mind was spinning, putting pieces together. When you were a kid, once a month, she’d be gone for a long weekend and you were always told it was for “girls’ weekends.”
“Alright,” she said with a huff, “tell me everything you know.”
“Did you already talk to Chibs?” you asked.
She looked very severe in her suit. It was tailored just for her. Her steel gray hair was pulled back in a tight bun, her pearl earrings hanging from her ears, her standard matching pearl necklace in place. Thankfully, she’d never worked for your dad’s business and you hadn’t had to deal with her on a daily basis. Jack and his associates usually took care of the business’ legal matters. Debra was a criminal prosecutor. Everything about her screamed, “I will fuck up your life,” and she usually did in one way or another. She was small but mighty and scary as all hell. Gemma had said once that she was one of the three people that scared her.
“I want to hear your side. I’ve made notes already and have a few ideas to get this bullshit dropped. Favors were called in to get this heard so quickly,” she said. “I want to make sure there are no… surprises and get this mess behind us.”
You told her what you knew, what you had speculated, and she took notes as you spoke. She asked you a few questions for clarification purposes and to elaborate, but you got the feeling like she already knew what you were going to say, Chibs had probably told her the same thing. You couldn’t imagine what she thought you might say, because you couldn’t remember when you had been so honest. The last 5 days had been lily-white for you, no speeding, no scoping out cars, and no looking at the sports pages.
“Mrs. (Y|L|N), you need to leave now. It’s time to transfer the prisoner,” a deputy said from the entry.
Your mother left with an irritated look on her face, but that was normal for her.
Soon, you were on your way to the courthouse. The deputy pulled the squad car into a secured garage and escorted you up to the courtroom your hearing was set for. As you rounded the corner to the courtroom, your mom was already there and she was pointing her finger up in Filip’s face, Tig and Happy were avoiding looking at the interaction. The deputy was holding the space between your cuffs, pulling you along.
It made you more than a little happy to see them all there. The deputy brought you to where your mother was standing and Chibs immediately pulled you into an embrace. He briefly let you go so you could lift your shackled hands above your head so he could slip under.
“Don’ worry, luv, everything is goin ta be jus’ fine,” he whispered in your ear.
You didn’t even have time to ask him what he meant. A bailiff had stuck her head out of the courtroom.
“The judge is ready to get going,” she said.
Next thing you know, you’re uncuffed and standing at a table in the courtroom, Jarry at the other table across the aisle. Chibs and the boys were behind you. Surprisingly, they weren’t being rowdy, yet. You were in a daze and couldn’t hardly think for yourself. A cold trickle of sweat ran down your spine and your vision was wobbly. You were in robot mode and your mom was the remote control. Of all of the things you’d stolen, you’d only been in a courtroom one time prior and you were terrified.
You vaguely registered your mother saying, “Motion to dismiss. Witnesses all say the plaintiff instigated the fight, was trespassing, stalking and numerous other offenses. My client won’t press charges if the plaintiff drops her charge.”
The judge sighed heavily and that was the first time that you really looked at him. He seemed familiar, for some reason, but you couldn’t quite put your finger on where it was you’d seen him before.
“Miss Jarry, get up here,” he ordered.
You couldn’t hear what the judge was saying to her, whatever it was, she didn’t like it one bit. You could see her skin turning red and moving up the back of her neck. She gave the judge a curt nod, he said one or two more comments to Jarry and you watched her with wide eyes as she walked back to her spot at the table. She looked like she could bite a nail in two.
“Plaintiff has agreed to drop charges and stay the hell away from the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club,” he said. “Charges dropped, case dismissed.” The judge banged the gavel. The boys were whoopin’ and hollering, clapping Chibs on the shoulder.
Though you didn’t have on your glasses, you could have sworn that the judge low-key winked at you. Turning around you were met with Chibs’ beaming face, his cute dimples showing.
“Did he just…”
“I’ll tell ye about it later, lass. For now, let’s get the hell out of here,” he suggested.
You were all for that. If you ever saw the inside of a courtroom again, it would be too soon.
Back at Scoops, your mother and Jack were sitting at a table, eating the burgers and fries that Chuckie had made them, and was working like crazy to produce for everyone that was coming back from the courthouse. The silent ride back was frigid, to say the least. Your mom was a good lawyer, you knew that much, but jesus, you never thought you’d need her to be yours.
Too riled up to eat, you were standing at the counter with Chibs. Looking over Chibs’ shoulder at her, you could tell by the set of her jaw that she was not happy about being there. Turning back to the counter, Chibs was watching you.
“Ye alrigh’, lass?” he looked concerned.
“I’m just worried what’s going to happen next. I know she’s not done with me today,” you confided.
“Yer tougher than ye think,” he pulled you close and kissed your forehead.
“Filip Telford!” your mother called, catching both of your attentions.
You both turned toward her.
“Debbie (Y|L|N),” he retorted.
“I need to speak with you,” she pointed her bony finger at the open space across from her.
Chibs put his hand on the small of your back and was going to lead you over to the table.
“Just you, Filip,” she glowered.
“Shit.”
