Fanfic Questions 

#16: Are their any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?

Oh boy, well… I’m gonna put this in a read more because it’s kinda long and I don’t want any shippers of the LTD to come after me and kill me for this…

Even though I love both Tifa and Aerith and even Zack, I’m not a hardcore shipper of Cloti and/or Clerith (especially those who are both very pro-Clerith and Anti-Cloti/Anti-Zerith/Anti-Tifa/Anti-Zack and such and go post stuffs of why their ship is canon and why this opposingi ship is not/why this character is flat-out unnecessary/terrible to the plot/main character just to prove that this ship is canon than any other ships. I mean, c’mon! WTF?!)

I mean, ever since I finally played FF7 when I was around my first or second year of Middle School thanks to an old friend of mine who gave it away to me (FF7 was the third Final Fantasy game I ever played, with FF8 my first, and FFTactics, since my brother owns them and finished both of them, that I started my own playthrough on FF8 and helped my brother finish up these incomplete quests he didn’t bother completing), and I love playing it. And during that time, I was hardly a shipper back them, I’m more into “being all fangirly to Cloud only” kind of person, but I really enjoy all the plot, the humor, the twists, the backstories, and even the interaction of all characters that made me love all of them.

Aside few FF7 being in Kingdom Hearts series, but around the time the Compilation of FF7, I believed I was the only few to actually love it. The animations, characters designs, expansion of backstories of certain characters, and even introducing new characters (the time I was conflicted if I love Cloud or Genesis more… and then I was introduced to some fanfics featuring the two as the main cast… you get the picture), I still love them. 

I don’t care if Nomura or Square-Enix confirmed recently that the Compilation is no longer canon or many hated and resented the Compilation (especially Zack, Genesis, etc. (which breaks my heart hearing that)), I still love the Compilation regardless. Besides, with the Compilations, it give us time for me and some of my friend go through alot of speculation regarding to FF7′s lore and stuff and coming up with post-DOC headcanon and finding the ultimate conclusion for FF7 and its compilation, which might be mentioned in my fanfic.

And speaking of my fanfic, my friend who is helping me is really intrigued with the Pro-Clerith plus Anti-Cloti/Zerith/Tifa/Zack that just observing the posts with these heated debate helps give him an idea for the Presage (the fanfic’s antagonist) the motive/purpose/reason to kill Cloud Strife (or better, convince Cloud to “End his Life by his own Hands”). And it’s not just about “His True Love/Darkest Desire”, it’s also about her Obsession/Logic of “Granting Mercy/”Happy Ending” for “Her Hero and his Beloved Flower Girl” by “Putting him out of his Misery”.�� Especially she must force him to sell all his friends to her and the Devil…

Anyway, *ahem* the ships I “dislike” (well not really “dislike”, it’s more of “yeah, they’re nice ships, but I don’t really ship them) are Cloti, Clerith, and maybe Seifkura (I like shipping Sephiroth with Angeal the most) and maybe Clack  (they’re ok, but imo, I really like them when they’re platonic/best friends/brother-in-arms/etc kind of way.)
