I love old history books. They'll just confidently tell you that this guy three hundred years ago was depressed cause he didn't cheat on his wife enough.
#And then his wife manipulated him evilly by refusing him sex so he'd get more depressed#And I mean sure there is a little bit more detail to it#But the framing is pretty unsubtle#I'm doing research for my bachelor's thesis and I'm having a blast#I'll have to filter pretty strongly when citing this thing but that's for the actual writing part#For now I'm just reading#Also disclaimer: this is not a shittting on historians post#Most historians do a good job#It's just that very old books tend to have some biases that seem very silly today#also yes cheating is a modern concept#And you have to look at the situation through the appropriate cultural lense#But also consider#My funny post sounds better like this#And this is not my thesis
