Redesigning Sanrio Characters: Part 1

Hello people, my name is Sora. As a sanrio fan for about a year, I've noticed that sanrio has made some... "stinkers" to say the least... so today, we are going to start to redesign, but if you DO somehow like who we are going to do today, that's fine, you don't have to listen to my salty dumbass, so don't take this to seriously, I'm just here to do my thing, and you do yours. So now, without further ado, let's get starting, shall we? Part 1: Patty and Jimmy (Aka, Little Twin Stars's unwanted cousins) Ah, Sanrio characters from the 70s, we got the iconic Hello Kitty, the adorable My Melody, the darling Little Twin Stars, and.... Patty... and... Jimmy....

Now look, not to say I hate these... things... but...

They need a serious glow up asap.. I'll try, but I'm no character designer, so let's see how this goes...

So let's start with the one who came first, Patty.

Ok, let's look at her for a minute... what the hell is with that hair color.. that will need to be fixed right away, urine is NOT a hair color, and WHY are her eyes on her cheeks!? Tbh, she kinda looks like a funko pop. I think the red could work, but the hair again- it makes her look like the Mcdonald's color pallet, I'm not lovin' it :/

Now, I'd show the sketch and process, but I couldn't do that bc my drawing apps kept closing on me for some reason, so I did a traditional drawing of them instead, hope y'all understand ;-;

Now, let's move onto Jimmy, shall we?

First complaint here, why do these two have the same stupid hair color? I thought they were siblings instead of friends. Again, what is with the vibrant yellow doing w/ the red, and why is this outfit giving me stereotypical school bully vibes?

So, after some thinking, here is what I came up with:

Anyways, for Patty, I gave her a little more warm colors, and made her hair a lighter and WAY more natural blonde while keeping her pigtails. I removed the blue and yellow and still kept the red in her design, and I even gave her a pinkish-purple color for her t-shirt.

As for Jimmy, I made his hair long and light brown in a ponytail, so that way, they look way less like siblings. I made his colors more on the cooler side. I gave him more baggy clothing to make him look more like that smart kid who studies lo-fi music other than the sporty one.

Well, there it is, the final designs. I am pretty proud of how they turned out. Sayonara everyone!
