Saturday Six (Stuff)
Took the Dude, @super-ultra-mega-kami-guru-blog the Airport in on Wednesday. Saw a young black bear casually having breakfast just before the top of the Pass, and some turkeys politely crossed the road in the crosswalk in one town. Otherwise, it snowed off and on the whole time after we left. But we made it there, and the Dude made it to Colorado, and I made it back home. So all is well. ♡(•ི̛ᴗ•̛)ྀ
My yoga instructor believes that my neck pain is due to lack of strength in my front shoulders and chest. Guess who gets to work on planks, and push ups? ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)ᵒᵏᵎᵎᵎᵎ
Leeloo is discovering parkour, as kittens do. I fear for my TV. (^・ω・^ )
I was not happy to see snow so early. Though I should not be surprised. Effing climate change. (*`へ´*)
I bought a new rug for my living room, and had to move a big book shelf with dvds and knick-knacks. I have concluded that I have too much good junk, and I'm basically a neat hoarder. (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
Tried sleep aide and it only slightly helped. I guess I just get to live with tiny bursts of sleep now? Idek anymore. ヾ(*´ー`)ノ

fic tid bits
alrighty so ive been working on this fic for awhile now and I wanted to talk about it a little bit
(i dont have a solid release date or anything but I have written the first few chapters)
its based off of these designs i did a few months ago
i will be changing them all a little bit to better fit the tone of the fic but those are the general vibes
its a dark fantasy setting with inspiration pulled from stuff like the witcher 3 and Castlevania (the series)
the first few chapters are more focused on rapunzel but it moves into all of their povs as things go along
as for the characters heres a quick summary
Rapunzel has lived all her life in a tower kept safe from a "broken world" by her dear mother. For 18 years she believed that the world was overrun by creatures created from a magic historical event known as the Evernight (that name might change). When her Mother doesn't return home on her 18th she fears the worst and quickly learns that her Mother's version of history isn't quite accurate.
All Merida ever wanted was to be free. Her Mother had always blathered on about the cost of that freedom but it took first-hand experience to really make the point clear. A terrible mistake set a curse on her clan with Merida the only one left to escape and pick up the pieces. Now she hunts a Fae who can fix what she's done.
Nearly dying is bound to leave a sour taste in anyone's mouth. And let's just say Hiccup has had his fair share of experiences. He left his old life behind a long time ago to pursue the one thing that's really important, stopping his clan, the hunters. When a typical trade bust goes sideways he ends up the unwilling guide of some rather strange individuals.
You'd think being a powerful fae's apprentice would be an amazing deal, but Jack might have to disagree. For the last six years, he's studied to become a mage in the Capital, invisible to the public eye until his graduation as tradition calls. But his studies are frustrating and the path he walks is lonely until a favour pulls him into the life he's always wanted, one where people see him.
if you guys have any questions pls lemme know I rlly would love to talk about this thing its been rattling around in my brain for awhile now

*gleefully rubs hands together* You are far too good to me, giving me such free reign. Alrighty, here we go!
So it’s not altogether uncommon to get death threats at the DPD, especially the detectives. They’d put away some quite high profile and dangerous criminals over the years. Some of them were bound to be beyond annoyed and out for blood. There were some pretty robust protocols in place for incidents but sadly sometimes a few creative souls slipped through the net.
Perhaps the most sought after was Hank. He was the one responsible for the Red Ice ring bust and had been on the force the longest so had time to amass a long list of ill-wishers. The one time someone broke into his house and pulled a gun on him, Hank looked at them through bleary, bloodshot eyes and smiled like deliverance had finally arrived. The young desperate man sent to kill him looked terrified at that, then a glance around the house and pity replaced it. He left without firing his gun after spotting Hank’s own on the table next to the bottle of Black Lamb and a photo. Hank never filed a report.
Aside from his cats doing their level best to kill Gavin, he’d been relatively lucky. Only one real idiot had gone after him and they were bound to regret it for the rest of their life. Not that Gavin had meant to harm them…much. But when you’re out for the night with friends and have a few drinks in you then suddenly someone tries to garrote you while you’re taking a leak in a back alley? Well, as well as doing the mandatory police self defence classes, Gavin also worked out and those muscles weren’t just for show. Growing up, his parents had stuck him into martial arts classes to help channel his anger and he’d kept up with the training. By the time Tina and Chris heard the commotion, Gavin’s knuckled were bloody, there was a bruise around his neck and the assailant was on the floor, rasping for breath.
There was almost always a low level of threat towards androids even before the revolution. But once their freedom had been granted not everyone was kind enough to agree. He’d just popped out to lunch with Hank, as per usual for a Thursday. And like always, Hank wandered over to the Chicken Feed while Connor lingered by the furthest table, reserving it for them. The little red dot appeared over his thirium pump and he glanced down at it. His preconstruction software worked out easily enough just where the shooter was and he moved a little to make their aim harder work while staring up at them balefully. Such sad, pleading eyes made even the coldest of hearts stutter. The shooter hesitated and that’s all the time Connor needed. His face morphed from lost puppy to snarling killed as he pulled his gun from its holster and shot. By the time back-up got there the shooter was gone but they tracked her down thanks to the splatter of blood she’d left behind.
In a way Nines had always assumed he was immune to such petty things as an assassination attempt. He was partnered with Gavin after all, who drew much more flack on cases with his gobby little shit attitude. So when Nines walked out of the precinct one evening, he blinked in surprise at the knife held to his chest. Looking up at the wannabe assassin, he barked out a laugh.
“I don’t think so,” he said and stepped around them.
“I don’t think you understand, I’m going to kill you!”
“Not today, thank you,” Nines shooed them off with a wave over his shoulder even as the guy tried to catch up with him.
“You’re going to die!” The hit-man cried and tried to round on Nines again.
“No,” Nines shrugged, grabbed the man’s wrist and twisted the knife out of his hand. “Are you quite done embarrassing yourself?”
The man let out a frustrated wail and launched himself at Nines who was braced for it. What he hadn’t anticipated was the fact that Gavin would come racing down the steps of the DPD and intervening by taking the punch Nines was all set up to block. Gavin’s head snapped back under the force of the punch and he staggered into Nines. They toppled the last few stairs, landing in a dazed sprawl.
“I had it all under control,” Nines groused as he tried to shove Gavin off himself. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were the idiot to hire such an incompetent assassin.”
“The only ass I’m interested in is yours,” came the snapped reply.
In the end they didn’t need to track down the unsuccessful assassin. He turned himself in, blathering about Nines visiting him in the middle of the night with threats. Which was ridiculous because Nines had spent the night with Gavin wrapped around him. On the other side of the precinct, Connor preened quietly and shared a knowing look with Hank.
