Sorry for no activity on this blog lately, I kinda forgot it existed, but thanks for the anon challenge, though I think something was wrong with the link, it didn’t give accurate scores for the OP. Also, I knew you could do challenges by country, but I did not know you could limit it to a single town. -E

Obsessed with this new game, GeoGuessr - you drop into a random location and look around for clues before guessing where you are on the map. Points are based on how close you get. Definitely been playing this since I got home from work today.

Spending my night playing GeoGuessr, where you’re shown a random place on Google Street View and you have to try to place it on the map. I didn’t do so well this round.

Just say away form the areas like most of Australia which have really bad image quality, lol

If you ever wanted to pretend to be a travel photographer, I highly recommend playing Geoguessr, which plops you down in a random Google streetview and asks you to guess where you are using context clues. These are some screenshots I’ve taken, locations when I can remember them are in the notes.

Geoguessr Gothic

You stand before a dirt road in an area that is vaguely plains and desert at the same time. The picture quality is terrible and after searching hours, you come across the only sign in miles. You can’t read it.

Surrounded by wilderness, you head down the road and find a sign with a very long word and excessive use of umlauts and consecutive vowels. You can never guess where in Northern Finland you are. Köontinüue äanywaj.

You are thrown on a highway with no distinguishing features for miles. It’s nothing but plains and an overcast sky. An American flag tips you off that you might be in the midwest. You’re in Canada.

Is the sign you’re reading Spanish or Portuguese? It’s Italian. You’re in Sardinia. You never guess Sardinia. Nobody ever guesses Sardinia. People who live in Sardinia forgot it existed.

You score 5000 points guessing a location entirely by accident. You placed your point in the middle of the ocean. There never used to exist a location there.

Wawa is an awesome convenience store that makes great sandwiches and coffee and they are only in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida, so at least that will narrow her down to those 6 states on the US east coast.
