Bro it is HEARTLESS of you to post a reference to a spoiler but not the spoiler itself 😞. But you mentioned it had to do with Sonia and the two prominent men in her life in the drama, so I did some digging. Spoilers below.

Just watched colonel farrukh’s (our bb becomes a colonel 😭) interview on the Full Stop YouTube channel. First of all, the interviewer, Iqra, was an idiot who kept diverting his conversations about the political landscape to the love life he wrote about during his time in Dhaka with Sonia. Anyways… Farrukh repeatedly says that he and Sonia were together, in fact he says he had more faith in her love for him than he ever had in himself for anything.

So this is where my speculation begins. I think Sonia in the drama is currently in love with Rumi. I think there will be a huge, defining moment for Sonia and Rumi where they both realize they simply cannot be together. Too much has happened. I think slowly Sonia will fall for Farrukh, and I think it will almost be a happy ending for them, just for Sonia and Farrukh to tragically not get together in the end, as the colonel repeatedly says in the interview that he has no idea what happened to Sonia (well, he has the tragic inkling that she died) and he looked for her for 6 years after he returned to Pakistan. He also says that he knew she must be dead because if she were alive, she would’ve found him. That’s how much he thought she loved him.

This also just fits narratively. Farrukh is already giving up hopes of being with Sonia very early in the series. I think, as the story unfolds, the tides will turn and he’s going to get a glimmer of a happy ending with her only for that to be snatched away for the tragic ending that awaits these characters.

okay first off kudos to you for watching the interview. like i toh personally cringe away from unprofessionally taken interviews that are more interested in being gossips than actually being interested in what the interviewee has to say.

i KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWW it's Col. Farrukh's memoirs that the drama is based on and if Sonia really is a part of his actual past then of course the drama wouldn't do anything to distort his memories but askjdhwekada i just cannot wrap my head around how "epic" their love story will be considering how the narrative is so time sensitive. We are already at end Jan 1971..the Dhaka University Massacre happened on 25th March 1971 followed by a war. i gettttt that epic love stories can and do happen with the backdrop of war but here I just do not see it.

Sonia really hasn't been shown as someone who has any interest in the pursuing of anything romantic. I know the drama has set her up as this dreamy idealist who awaits her Prince Charming but mujhe dikha nahin hai woh. Her interactions with Farrukh have always been mannered and polite with their mutual want of protecting the innocent bystanders being their only topic of conversation. I am not saying her relationship with Rumi is anything extremely romantic but there's a definite mutual spark there where, if nothing else, the two of them want each other to stay safe and away from any danger. It's personal when it comes to Sonia with Rumi..it's professional when it comes to Sonia with Farrukh. That is why I gravitate more towards SoniaxRumi as a ship because the drama has built that tension between them that is just particular to all my taste buds.

I'll be honest I'll be HELLA MAD if they make Sonia fall for Farrukh.

Lastly..Farrukh is a babie I know but for me the love is limited to the fictionalized representation of him in the drama. the real life Col. Z.I. Farrukh has none of my interest.
