dakota taking time out of her busy schedule to spend time with one person is a pretty big indicator that she’s in love or at least a little infatuated with someone. this woman has close to no free time ( which is her own fault, but still ) so if she goes out of her way to make time for someone that’s not involved in her affairs / outside her sphere of influence business-wise, it’s significant. there are a myriad of other, “more important” things she could be doing but she’d rather push them off to make sure that said special someone gets enough attention from her. if she can’t go see them directly for whatever reason or if their plans fall through, she’ll at least call, apologize if it’s something on her end that’s just not working out, and ask if they’re still up for some quality time some other day ( preferably the next if she gets her way ).

     From the shadows the man stepped out. Lean-built with a pair of golden iris’ glowering at the woman standing before him. Despite the scowl that appeared on his face he wasn’t truly angry moreover, he was just surprised they’d noticed him. He just wasn’t a very expressive person. 

     “My… apologies if I startled you.” He was hesitant to speak and really, uncertain of what to say. He was positive he was hidden away while he lie in wait for his target. If he was that easy to spot, perhaps that was why his target hadn’t shown up yet.

16. If you could change one thing about rp on tumblr, what would it be? Why?

Maybe this is a small thing, but probably the whole visual vs. content thing. I kind of stopped care about formatting a long time ago. Not saying that is it not important either, as I know people can get into things even more with certain formatting and whatnot.

Also, when icons are so teeny tiny that it look like they been deep fried twice maybe it’s time to just chunk em. Because they’re not even serving the purpose they were meant for. What use is expressing a character visually if you can’t see it? Either use icons that’s clear enough for people to see or not at all, it don’t matter really.

This is not to dog on editing though, if it enhances someone’s role playing experience then have fun with it, just be practical about it though. Don’t have it where people have to hurt their eyes just to read something with overly complexed fonts and colors. Or try to make up for lack of content with flashiness. If we were all writing by ourselves, I wouldn’t even be saying this stuff. However, we’re writing with others so we have to think of others to a extent (at least care about eye straining) even if this is a hobby, so it is still mainly for ourselves.

If someone is writing some good stuff, I won’t care about the little things like formatting, icons. or how their blog looks. Yet it feels like people stress over it so much, isn’t this all suppose to be for fun?

“No. Nonono. Full stop. Hold on.” He’s serious about this, tone void of his usual deviousness and face bereft of a smirk. Wylan has stopped. And an outstretched arm has reached out to hold the other in place as well. Brows furrow, nostrils flare.

“This isn’t right. For either of us. Fitting in. It’s not our way of being sneaky. And you know it. If we’re not standing out, if we aren’t making a scene.... are we really even living? Is it actually worth it? I feel like... we’re meant for more than just being another sheep in this crowd. No....” Air flushes from his nostril, eyes snap wide and a gaze is shot out over the crowd.

“What if we went streaking instead.”

Apparently, Wylan’s contrarianism has lead to him abandoning the mission. Or. Tackling it in a way that is likely to end in mishap. As far as he can tell this is win-win. Especially if Alice goes along with it.

If your OCs were in a dating sim, I'd obviously make Alice take the Ven route, just because of the sweet plot twist. Guys in dating sims are supposed to be little cinnamon rolls. But he's doing some dastardly things.

I’ve played too many otomes

You’re right in that it would indeed be a surprise whirlwind of a route! Of course, the way to his good end would have to be through getting this sociopath to actually legitimately give a shit about you and although I’m his mun, I haven’t the foggiest clue what types of dialogue choices would lead to that happening because of how he is (sociopath). Ven goes with the flow with about any personality type but he’s also incredibly adept at not actually caring about or letting any feelings towards them develop no matter how much time is spent with them (sociopath). Even when it looks like an answer you chose is a right answer and you think you got points for it, you…did not. Unsurprisingly, excessively nosy questions or behavior he finds annoying, the irony, and that will lose you points even if it doesn’t look like it does. So it’s an incredibly hard route where even the online walkthroughs aren’t 100% sure the way to get into the good ending. In truth, anyone who managed it themselves would not be sure how their choices led them there and neither would I be as well. He is that difficult.

Of course the shady stuff becomes a part of things eventually whether he likes it or not. If your affection with him isn’t high enough by that point then you’re seen as a liability and know too much and oh nooo, you accidentally get caught in some gang shootout or criminal stuff and wait, didn’t Ven say he wanted to meet you here at this specific time–oh, you’re dead (sociopath). Other bad ends deal with Ven giving you the 411 about how, no, he didn’t actually care about you, and in these endings you’re likely about to die anyways, or in the super bad ending near the end it turns out that he was only dating you for some plot or job or plan of his, a super betrayal that he still doesn’t care about. Also there’s just straight up a bunch of random ones where if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time from your choices then you die because his job is dangerous whoops. The tamest one where you don’t die is where he gets bored of you and dips or something, Still hurts, but you’re at least alive.

But, uh, if you manage not to die then his parents and Cyril all eventually pop in. They’re nice people. Say anything to them to raise their suspicion on what Ven is doing with his shady stuff and you get an ending where you die, it’s very easy to die in his route. But they’re all nice people, it’s easy to deal with them. So yeah, all in all Ven’s route is a clusterfuck where no one knows how to win and it’s very very easy to lose!

What do you think about public call out posts?

i think public callouts should be reserved for people that are actually dangerous and are preying on other people. like if there is a chance that this person can harm you in some way, make one ‘cause that crosses the boundary from online into real life. other than that, though… i take them with a grain of salt ‘cause whether i like it or not, i’m very skeptical of them shit ‘cause of the way this hellsite handled callouts and turned it into this fucking mess of hunting down people when, in reality, all these people needed was either a sound kick in the ass ( in the event that they were an asshole ) or nothing ( in event that they didn’t do anything aside from disagree with someone ) . i feel like callouts are a lot more dramatic than they need to be and some of the shit in callouts can be solved by a private conversation.

another thing to note that… people can always change their aliases and come back under a new name, new blog, new everything and if they’re smart about it, i doubt people will figure that out. so, in that case, the callout does nothing but give someone an opportunity to disappear, lay low, and then come back. whether or not they change and “learn” from the callout depends on what kind of person they were beforehand and seeing as callouts are callouts, how much do you think the person is gonna learn from that? 

… i’m not here to encourage all that, nor do i wanna take part in it. i’ve lived long enough to check out when i hear “callout” ( unless it’s a serious matter, ofc ) so i figure that’s an apt answer for how i feel about callout posts
