Margaret Woodcock 1816 ($20) reproduction sampler charted by Casey Hewitt of Hewitt Hill Samplers.
Margaret Woodcock 1816 is a reproduction of an antique sampler in the collection of Hewitt Hill Samplers. This charming sampler contains a large pink Temple as the central motif surrounded by flower baskets, stags, sailing ships, birds, and Adam & Eve with the Tree of Knowledge. Solomon's Temple was a common sampler theme -- and although it's always recognizable, every temple is a little bit different. It is completed primarily in cross-stitch with a few algerian eyelets and satin stitched baskets.
