Once inside the shop Alfie was in awe. Stood in the middle he spun slowly taking in all the different options for leathers and it was like he was in heaven. The different styles and colours. He'd never seen so many leather jackets in one place and not just jackets. As an avid biker, when he got the chance he loved leathers but had never really been in a position to buy anything top of the range. Or much more than either second hand if a better brand or cheap if new. He'd always quite liked the idea of the full leathers, the proper biker look, trousers and all and he was more than a little distracted from their actual purpose of being in the shop in the first place. He was brought back to reality by her words and brought his attention back to her and to the task at hand. "black leather, white writing and maybe a skull for me, maybe a skull and flowers on yours?" he suggested. "Unless you just want flowers, that's really up to you." he smiled. "I'd like mine to be like til death bigger, do us in smaller writing just underneath." he moved his hand across the back of the jacket they were using as an example piece as he explained to the shop assistant. "Then part in the bigger writing same style or font as at the top about... here." he pointed to where on the jacket. "Maybe a skull would look best in between the writing or smaller in the bottom corner." he still used hand gestures to demonstrate. Then stood back as though imagining it. "Yes. Smaller skull underneath the writing I think." he nodded. He went and picked out the exact jacket he wanted. Slipping it on to check the sizing. If they were having it personalised it needed to be the perfect fit. He picked one off the hanger for Nana. Holding it out for her to put on. "This is one of the comfiest leathers I've ever put on" he commented as he stoof ready to stand back and admire her once she had one on. "What are you thinking about how to have yours?" he asked her then about her design. Wondering if she would have anything different. He liked the idea of flowers but he also liked things much more basic, but he figured as long as they had the same thing written they didn't have to be exactly the same. They might even look better having a bit of a difference. Showing each of their personalities, their uniqueness. Whilst also showing that they were together and they worked well together. He liked that idea and smiled at the thought. Around half an hour later they'd sorted how they wanted them, and left them in the capable hands of the lady who had been extremely helpful to them. She'd said it would take around an hour and Alfie had suggested they pop back later. He held Nana's hand once more as they left the shop and walked through the center past all the other shops then. "Tattoo time or drink time?" he asked. Pulling her a little closer he pulled her hand he was holding across his body to swap and hold with his other hand so that he could then wrap the arm closest to hers around her shoulders. He kissed the top of her head. "Can't wait to see you in your leather jacket. If possible I think you might look even sexier." his voice was Husky as he spoke and he looked down at her smirking flirtily and giving her a wink. He spotted a little corner then and pulled her over to it not wanting to get in the way of all the other shoppers. His hand moved into her hair and he kissed her hungrily but affectionately. "Shall we get a drink?" he asked her. "Or get other things done and dusted?" their was a hint in his voice. He was trying to say without actually saying it that the quicker they were done the quicker they could go back to the room and be just those two. But at the same time he didn't want her to think he didn't want to be out and about with her because he did. He quite liked being able to let everyone know she was his and he was hers.

As she twirled around for him, Alfie stood watching her appreciatively. He folded one arm across his abdomen, leaning the other elbow on it and his chin on his hand as he watched her, a look of adoration and concentration on his face. He smiled as she called him dashing “Just the usual thrown together look I’m sporting.” he commented with a small chuckle. As she cuddled against his hand he smiled and sighed happily at how she seemed to appreciate his kisses. He loved the way she wrapped her arms around his neck. The closeness felt great and normal and his smile grew slightly wider. He nodded at her words, he wanted to believe them, and he did believe her. He just had that deep down niggle that was telling him different. She’d stayed this long though, knew a lot more about him than most people and none of it had scared her away so far. He shook his head then when she said about worrying about him being stolen away. “No chance.” he spoke matter of factly. Even though she was playful in her tone he didn’t want her thinking the same way he was. “I didn’t know they made them as amazing as you, no way am I letting you go without a fight.” he tried to keep the joking going, implying he would fight anyone who tried to take her from him rather than that anyone would take him from her. To him that was utterly impossible. He liked the way the linked arms was kind of their little thing, a habit you could say. It was nice, instead of the typical hand holding of couples, he actually felt like he was closer to her this way. Their bodies were physically closer aswell. He nodded as he listened to her as they walked. “Okay. Leather jackets, then drink, then tattoos. Then ride thingy, if I’m brave enough.” her smirked as he said the last part but the rest was as though he was making a mental checklist. “Which tattoo did we decide upon?” he questioned then. “The dates on our ring fingers?” he couldn’t remember. “How about we get that one today and then we could always get another further on down the line. Maybe to celebrate an anniversary or something.” he loved that he could talk long term, because to him this wasn’t going to be anything but. He noticed the way she looked down when he said she made him drool. He tucked his finger under her chin when she looked up again. Looking her direct in the eyes. “I mean it, no jokes when it comes to me talking about how beautiful, and cute, adorable and sexy you are.” He separated each word he used to describe her with a kiss to a different part of her face. Then kissing her full on and deeply on the lips with the last word for her. At his last kiss the elevator pinged open and they headed out into the rest of their day. “Okay, leather jackets first.” he pointed towards the shop he could see in the corner from there. Glad of it because he wasn’t sure he would have remembered exactly where it was. “Let’s see if we can get our til death do us part jackets. That was what we said right?” he beamed, remembering the idea. He’d never had a leather jacket customised for him before and he thought it was really cool that it was a joint thing with his now wife. Something different and fun, which was exactly what their whirlwind relationship had been like so far, and exactly what he hoped it would continue to be. He gripped onto her a tiny bit tighter as they set off towards the shop. He felt like the luckiest man on the planet, but certainly the luckiest in Vegas and he held his head high, a wide smile on his lips, so glad to have her by his side.
Nana absolutely loved the way Alfie looked at her as she twirled around, his comment about his own choice of clothing making her laugh. “Well, then you’ve got the most amazing sense of fashion. You’ve thrown together such a perfect look!” She complimented, winking playfully but actually admiring just how beautiful he looked. Perfectly knowing it wasn’t just the clothes, but him as a whole. Nana thought she could look at Alfie forever and always find something new to admire and love about him. With her arms wrapped around Alfie’s neck and just enjoying their closeness, she couldn’t help but smile wide. Nope, there was absolutely no chance someone could steal her away from him. They had the kind of connection she knew could only happen once in a lifetime, and she would never let go of him, chuckling at his comment as he seemed to agree with her. “I will always fight for you too, fight for us.” She beamed at him, meaning every word. Walking with their arms linked together, Nana felt happy that Alfie seemed to agree with they way she’d organized their plans for the day. “Of course you’re brave enough, I’ll be there holding your hand!” She chuckled as they spoke about going on the ride. “Yes, the dates on our ring fingers is a perfect way to mark a day that was so special for us!” She nodded, beaming at him. “Also yes to another one later! I feel like I’ll always be down to get more ink with you… to celebrate anniversaries or maybe our children, one day.” She confessed, loving the way Alfie had just casually meant their anniversary, showing her that he did see a future with her. And a future with him was everything she wanted as well, all those special moments and milestones they had yet to live, and she didn’t want to live them with any other person but Alfie. The way he tucked his finger under her chin, his blue eyes looking straight into hers and pausing between words to kiss a different part of her face made her smile wide, knees a little weak, even more when he called her sexy and kissed her deeply, making her place her hands on his back, pulling him a little closer to her. He truly was wonderful and was doing a great job at making her feel better about herself. She wanted to believe him, desperately. Then thought if he could have any girl he wanted and still chose to be with her, then it was probably true. She hoped it was. Once outside the hotel, Nana followed Alfie’s line of sight when he pointed in the shop’s direction. She felt glad it was close to their hotel, otherwise she wasn’t sure if she would still remember its location with the amount of alcohol she’d drunk the night before, and she’d feel sad if they didn’t get those amazing leather jackets. “Yes! Til death do us part.” She nodded, beaming at him, agreeing with what they’d want written on their jackets, but also turning it into some sort of promise, a vow. Loving how Alfie gripped onto her a bit tighter, she also moved a little closer to him, happily walking by his side as they made their way towards the shop. Stealing glances at him, she couldn’t help but smile wide, heart overflowing with love and pride for her new husband. As they entered the shop, Nana looked around, completely mesmerized by all the different colors and styles of leather jackets they had on display. “Wow… these are amazing…” She thought out loud. A young woman greeted them, and after they questioned her, she informed them that yes, they did costumize the leather jackets, showing them all the possible colors, lettering and drawings they could chose from. “They’re all so pretty! I’m having a hard time deciding!” Nana giggled, looking at Alfie. “How about.. one of those black leather jackets, with ‘Til death do us part’ in white and… a red rose? Or other flowers? A skull, maybe? What do you think?” She looked up at him, speaking with enthusiasm and extremely interested in hearing his opinion.

Alfie turned to her, to the sound of her and even faster at the sound of her voice. He smiled, a wide smile practically showing all his teeth. At the sight of her it was almost like his jaw dropped to the floor. “You look… Incredible.” he’d been searching for the word that did her justice. His eyes roamed up from the tip of her toes to her face. Eyes locking with eyes once more. You could tell she followed fashion sure but she looked fashionably comfortable and he liked that she didn’t look like she’d taken a stupid amount of thinking to decide what to wear. She looked like one of those people who already had it planned out, who weren’t dressing to impress, or if they were only themselves. He noticed as he got lost in those eyes once more that she didn’t appear to be wearing the amount of make up that seemed to be the norm these days, if any, and he noted that if she wasn’t wearing any then she didn’t need it. She must have the most perfect skin he’d ever seen. Most girls he’d ever spent any amount of time with. And none had ever gotten this much out of him, which made him chuckle for a moment. Almost always looked like they’d painted their faces with a trowel full of make up. He lifted his palm and ran his knuckles down the side of her face and then his fingertips. Pecking the tip of her nose and then stealing a proper kiss. Pulling her closer by the waist as he did so. “Just for the memories, in case someone better steals you away.” he half joked with her. It wasn’t her that he thought would go with anyone else, just someone better than him he knew could come along and whisk someone as special as her off her feet. Give her what she deserved. He laughed though, to pretend it was completely a joke. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust her words, because she’d told him he was the one and such, he just still worried, deep deep down. Wondered if a girl of the world like her would tire of him. He tried to stop thinking about it then and held his arm out for her. “M'lady. Shall we.” he smirked as he gestured to the door. “Okay, so tattoos first, or that ride before we lose the courage? Or in case the tattoos hurt too much?” He put a couple of suggestions out there. And snuck a sideways glance at her as they began to walk out. “Or leather jacket shop first? I can’t help but think a leather would look very good with your already perfect outfit.” he paused and shrugged. “I’m not the fashion expert though.” he grinned wide again. “Maybe we could also stop for a drink somewhere? I don’t know if it was the alcohol last night or what but I’m parched today. I’m not sure my mouth had every been this dry. Maybe it’s sympathetic to the desert. Maybe if I was somewhere with lots more water I’d be constantly drooling” he joked with her. he had called for the elevator by this point and they stood waiting. Turning towards her as they waited he added. “Although you did almost make me drool a few times. You sure know which outfits to put on to impress a guy.” he raised his eyebrows and nudged her, teasing her a little more before being a bit more serious. “Oh and no arguments when I pay for everything today and I mean everything by the way. We still have the money we won and that’s what it’s for. For us to enjoy this time here. I’m sure we agreed something similar last night, I couldn’t be sure on the exact words.” He shrugged. Kissed her once more and stepped into the lift as it pinged open then, holding out his hand for her as he did so.
Nana smiled wide at Alfie’s compliment, a shy giggle leaving her lips as she looked down at her shoes before she looked back at him again. “Thank you, hubby.” Feeling happy that he seemingly liked her choice of outfit, she twirled around playfully, before she added. “You look quite dashing yourself!” It was true, she did love Alfie’s style and the way he styled his hair. He wasn’t a model, but if he was, she was sure he’d be one of the best, with his style and attitude. She’d certainly love it if he accepted to model some of her creations one day. As he ran his knuckles down the side of her face, Nana cuddled a little against his hand, giving him a sweet smile as her dark eyes got lost in his blue ones, smiling wide at his kisses and enjoying every second, as she always did. Loving the way he pulled her closer to him by the waist, arms immediately reaching up to wrap around his neck, shortening the distance between them even more. “No one’s going to steal me away from you.” She shook her head, smiling wide. “And there’s no one better than you for me… you’re my dream come true.” She confessed, speaking her mind, hoping he wouldn’t think it was too lame. “In fact… I’m the one who should be worried about someone better stealing my amazing husband away from me.” She chuckled, speaking in a playful manner and getting on the tip of her toes to steal another kiss, but there was also some truth in these words. She was nothing special after all, and the fact that Alfie actually thought she was still surprised her. As he held out his arm for her, Nana was quick to wrap hers around his. Walking with their arms linked had already become an habit for them and she loved it. As they walked towards the elevator, Nana listened to Alfie’s suggestions about how they should plan their first day together as a married couple. “Well… I think we should get the leather jackets first!” The thought of having a custom leather jacket together with Alfie made her happy, as it was a piece of clothing they both loved. “Then maybe we could get a drink, before the tattoos? Maybe they won’t hurt as much then.” She chuckled a little. Nana only had one tattoo, but getting it didn’t hurt, it just felt a bit uncomfortable, so she wasn’t particularly worrying about the pain, even if she knew it also depended on the location they’d chose. And even if it did hurt, it would be an experience they’d be sharing and she loved the thought of it, as if it somehow made their bond a little stronger. “And after the tattoos, we try the ride, both to celebrate and unwind!” She beamed at him. “What do you think?” She added quickly, also wanting to know his opinion, by no means wanting to impose hers. At the mention of her almost making him drool, Nana giggled shyly once more, lowering her eyes before she looked up at him again. Alfie was really sweet, and she liked the way he made her feel better about herself. “Okay!” She grinned and nodded, agreeing with the fact that they should spend the money they’d won the previous night on enjoying this day together. Taking his hand, she followed him into the elevator, and once it reached the ground floor and they stepped outside the hotel, Nana took a deep breath and smiled wide. It surely was a beautiful day and she felt extremely excited for everything they’d already planned. This was the first day of the rest of their lives together, and she could already tell it would be a super fun one.

Alfie was distracted to say the least when she stole his smoke. It wasn't like smoking was exactly considered sexy but when she took a drag and exhaled he'd have argued with anyone that it most definitely was. It gave her so far kind of sweet look a bad girl edge and boy did he like that. He was almost having to pick his jaw up at the sight of her. Clearing his throat to bring himself back to reality he thought for a minute on which memory to tell. He didn't want to have to go into too much family history right now, feeling like it would probably kill the mood but his story linked with it, he'd just have to explain later. "My favorite memory..." he paused. "Is with my siblings." The day was almost clear like he was back there and he began to tell her about it. "Kyle, my eldest brother was driving. Noah, he's the second oldest was in the front in the passenger seat. Me and Chiles were in the back of the car. " he kept the reason why they were there held back, it wasn't important to how he remembered what he was about to tell. "It was a hot day, early summer, we were supposed to be in school. We had the windows down and the breeze felt glorious." he left out the fact that Kyle wasn't legally supposed to drive. "We were all really happy, it was that kind of happy where you don't know if you should be, but you just are." he took a deep breath. "My siblings are really important to me and in that time, Chiles was really important to all three of us." he shook his head, he didn't want to go into the gory details. "Maybe because she's the girl of the group." he chuckled trying to lighten the mood he'd almost gone into. "Anyway." he ran a hand through his hair. "There isn't much else to the memory other than us being siblings, finally free of something." he swallowed the lump in his throat. He wasn't supposed to have said that much but she made him so comfortable. Like he could talk to her about anything, even all the stuff he'd kept away for years. "Like I said we were just happy." he smiled at her. "Just all of us together, us boys singing along to the radio, spending quality time as a family. Siblings and best friends." He pressed his lips together tight. Maybe he didn't remember it as nicely as he thought but it was still his best memory because it was when they were first free of something they'd often thought they wouldn't be. Stuck in the memory a little in his head he actually also remembered the panic, and the tense atmosphere. The glances between the boys, charged with energy and anger. But also the looks when they looked at their sister, who spent most of the time asleep and the relief they felt knowing what could have been. He remembered the whispered chats and exchanging of would have beens and could have beens, whilst ensuring she didn't wake up and hear them. It was a little bad but it was mostly good and he remembers a sense of pride at having rescued themselves, together. He looked at Nana. Knowing the memory hadn't come across how he'd first wanted it to. Thinking she'd probably have questions. He nodded his head and took a drag of the cigarette he'd taken back from her with a slight smirk. "Anyway. How about you. What's your happiest memory?" he asked. Wanting the heat off of himself now.

Alfie wasn’t entirely sure why when she’d let him kiss her the first time that he thought maybe she wouldn’t the second so a wave of relief washed over him. He relished in the moment, enjoying it for as long as was possible without dragging it out too much. He felt the nervousness leave his body suddenly when the reality of what had happened between them sunk in. Before he had time to think about it she was settling down on his recliner next to him and he sure loved the feel of her warmth against him. It was like he hadn’t realised how cold it was and she’d just wrapped him up in a big jacket. Metaphorically at least because it wasn’t cold. He guessed he just liked feeling her next to him, knowing she was there. The smile that was practically stretching his face would probably appear unusual to anyone who didn’t know what had just gone on between the pair. He felt like a lovesick teenager, he felt the stirrings of excitement in the pit of his belly at the idea of the new adventure that could be ahead of them. At all the things they might do together, the big things and the little. He suddenly had the most overwhelming urge to ring Chiles his twin to tell her all about Nana, something he would never have done before. He had to squash the idea for two reasons, first he wasnt sure it wouldn’t totally scare Nana away and second he didn’t think his sister would appreciate it. The thought of sharing what was between them with the world was both scary and exciting. On one hand he wanted to shout from the rooftops on the other he wanted her all to himself, at least for now. He turned a little on the recliner, getting comfortable next to her. He wrapped his arm around her and just looked at her. Taking her in once again. This time he was able to think some of the things he stopped himself from thinking, even hoping, before. He couldn’t rid himself of the smile on his face. He felt like he probably looked like he’d slept with a coathanger in his mouth and chuckled lightly at this thought. He could lay next to her forever, thinking things. About her, about them, about their possibilities. However he didn’t want to just think, he wanted to do. Sitting up a little he kept his arm around her shoulders. “So. Nana.” he gave her a quizzixal look, added a slight smirk so as not to scare her too much. “What say we get to know each other a bit better.” he suggested. He leaned over and picked his cigarette packet up. Grabbing the lighter and ashtray. He settled the ashtray on his lap and pulled a cigratee out, balancing it between his lips and flicking the lighter, the flame dancing infront of his face made him think of a lot of things, danger a little but mostly heat and as he noticed when he looked at her as he waited for her reaction, the way the flame danced in reflection in her eye, he couldn’t help but link the two together. The idea of her and heat brought a different topic into his head and he felt his cheeks flush suddenly. He wasn’t nervous in general anymore for sure but maybe a little for certain things. He was a lot more casual normally in such a situation, he would usually know that it was a one time, maybe two time thing. With her he never wanted that to be the case and he realised the flush was because he might be a little nervous about this being a long time thing, not in a bad way, in a first time kind of way. Maybe more so in that he was embarrassed that she would be his first serious, long term relationship. The first girl that wasn’t a temporary hook up, one night stand or friend with benefits. He didn’t want the moment to linger on his flushed cheeks too much and so he scrabbled to distract from it. “Ask me something.” he spoke quickly. “Anything you want to know about me?” he smiled at her as he offered her his cigarettes, not sure if she would want one.
Nana almost couldn’t believe they’d just kissed, and how wonderful it felt. She would have pinched herself, just to make sure the whole evening with Alfie hadn’t been just a dream, but it would seem very ridiculous and the thought made her smile a little. When she joined him on the recliner, she felt a little nervous that maybe he wouldn’t want it, maybe she was being too clingy? But the way he turned a little and wrapped an arm around her told her otherwise, and she felt both happy and relieved. Also his smile, his beautiful smile she just adored. And for the first time she realized, they both wore the same silly wide smile glued to their faces, reassuring her that they were in this together and that’s all Nana could have asked for. Resting her head on his chest, she cuddled against him a little and looked up at him, still smiling, while her fingers distractedly drew random patterns over his clothed chest. She felt extremely happy and safe there with him, both excited and at peace. She could lay next to him forever, and she knew she wanted to be in his life for as long as he let her. She thought about the past, and the future. It truly amazed her how she’d managed to date Takumi, who’d been her only boyfriend, for almost two years, yet felt nothing compared to all the feelings Alfie had given her in just one night. True, she’d only dated him because she thought she should, because it was right, and it was her biggest regret once it was over, but maybe she needed to go through it, so maybe she could tell the difference when she found the one for real? Because she was almost certain she did. She wanted a future with Alfie, she wanted everything with him and she’d face everything and everyone for it, even her dad. She hoped he’d accept her new husband, though, he was her dad after all and had always loved her. She knew everything would be alright in the end, but right now, she didn’t want her mind to be in the future, she wanted to focus on the present moment and enjoy it to the fullest. When he sat up a little, Nana sat with him, keeping their closeness, but the quizzical look he gave her had her furrowing her eyebrows a little, an amused smile upon her lips as she waited for him to speak. At his suggestion of getting to know each other a little better, Nana nodded, smiling a little more. “Sure, let’s do it!” The idea excited her, as she wanted to learn everything about him, she’d love to listen to all his stories, the good and the bad, and tell him all about herself in return. As she watched him lighting his cigarette, Nana couldn’t help but notice just how sexy he looked doing that… he had this bad boy look to him that fascinated her, but it was his gentle, attentive personality that captured her heart. And while she kept admiring him, she couldn’t help but notice a slight blush on his cheeks, wondering what he could possibly be thinking about now. However, his question brought her back from her thoughts, and she hummed for a moment, trying to think of a good question for him. “Tell me… one of your favourite memories.” She spoke softly, with a smile, but then added quickly. “Only if you want to, of course. And you can ask me anything you want as well.” The moment he offered her his cigarettes, Nana gave him a somewhat naughty smile and lifted her hand to steal the one he held between his lips, winking playfully afterwards. She took a drag and exhaled the smoke as sexily as possible, and then giggled a little.

He felt like he probably looked like he'd slept with a coathanger in his mouth and chuckled lightly at this thought. He could lay next to her forever, thinking things. About her, about them, about their possibilities. However he didn't want to just think, he wanted to do. Sitting up a little he kept his arm around her shoulders. "So. Nana." he gave her a quizzixal look, added a slight smirk so as not to scare her too much. "What say we get to know each other a bit better." he suggested. He leaned over and picked his cigarette packet up. Grabbing the lighter and ashtray. He settled the ashtray on his lap and pulled a cigratee out, balancing it between his lips and flicking the lighter, the flame dancing infront of his face made him think of a lot of things, danger a little but mostly heat and as he noticed when he looked at her as he waited for her reaction, the way the flame danced in reflection in her eye, he couldn't help but link the two together. The idea of her and heat brought a different topic into his head and he felt his cheeks flush suddenly. He wasn't nervous in general anymore for sure but maybe a little for certain things. The first girl that wasn't a temporary hook up, one night stand or friend with benefits. He didn't want the moment to linger on his flushed cheeks too much and so he scrabbled to distract from it. "Ask me something." he spoke quickly. "Anything you want to know about me?" he smiled at her as he offered her his cigarettes, not sure if she would want one.

His eyes were locked with hers. Sharp blue lost in the darkness of her gaze. Noticing how they were sweetly intense and crazy fascinating. He almost felt like they had their own stories to tell and like he could get lost in that dark abyss swirling round and round in the unique world and finding out things he never thought he would, not just about her but about life itself. Her words still managed to find his ears and he felt pulled from a void he wasn’t sure he wanted to be taken away from. God those eyes. He swallowed hard. The way she pulled him close after agreeing that she wanted the same thing he did. It was like fireworks. The extreme sensation that took over his body, originating in the place she had touched him to pull him towards her, but travelling over his whole self. Each limb feeling suddenly heavy like wanting to be noticed, telling him to move, to do something. Yet he also felt light, like he could float, like he could achieve anything. Because she wanted it too, wanted him and that was what he had wanted, the feeling to be reciprocated. Now he knew it was, well, it was hugely satisfactory but also a great relief. Like a weight lifted from his shoulders that he hadn’t known was there. He fought to get out of his own head and finally pressed his lips to hers. Soft at first, just a light kiss. Something that felt tender, to his mouth but so much more than that inside of him. He felt like with her by his side he could take on the whole world and anything he tried to achieve would be successful. She had this energy, this positive vibe that was rubbing off on him, made him feel like he never had before. Like the darkness was gone, poof, just like that. Almost like her light had guided him through it all and into the other side, into this other world where anything was possible. Where they could actually be together, maybe, like an actual couple, actual husband and wife. Where it was possible to think and feel things he never had before, where it was possible to love. That was it, the sensation in his stomach before, that he’d been afraid to admit… Butterflies. Wow he was really falling for this girl. Falling in love with this girl. This girl he had only met a few hours previous. Was that even possible? He pushed a hand through his hair, he was still inches from her face, could almost feel her breath on his skin. He wanted it all. He locked his eyes with hers again as though silently requesting her permission and pressed his lips to hers once more. Little by little he increased the intensity. He put his hand on her cheek, pressed his tongue against her lip, wanting permission to push his tongue inside her mouth. To taste her fully, tongue wrapped with tongue. To really kiss her like he meant it, like he so desperately wanted to and had done since before they even got married. This was what all this stupid romantic films were about. He understood that now. He had always thought it some long lost fable or fairytale that would never come true, told in all these different scenarios in these films he’d been made to watch. Twisted and warped to seem like reality. He always thought it was daft, stupid, that it would never happen because life just wasn’t like that. However, in this moment he really got it. He actually thought maybe it was true. Maybe everyone did have that one person that they had to find to realise it, for want of a better word, that soulmate. Was he really becoming so soft? The thing was for her, he would and he wanted to.
Nana loved how he kept his eyes locked with hers, it felt like they could see straight into her soul, every memory, every story, everything she’d been and would ever be, and she’d let him in, she’d share everything with this beautiful man who’d been a stranger to her only hours ago, but now felt like the closest person to her, someone who knew and understood her like no one ever did before, and it all came so effortlessly. If people are made of stardust, maybe they came from the same star. She didn’t really know what it was, she didn’t know how to explain it, but it was there. And it made her so happy that he seemed to feel the same, that he wanted her just as much as she wanted him, that the universe had somehow aligned to bring them together. And being an old fashioned romantic, this hadn’t been the wedding she’d always dreamed about growing up, with the huge princess dress and lots of guests, but it wasn’t any less beautiful and it was for sure much more romantic, because it had been just for the two of them, in this beautiful little world of their own they’d been creating all night long, a world Nana was sure she’d never want to leave. She wanted to keep creating with him, and suddendly that little story of their married life they’d come up with just moments before their wedding sounded just perfect, and she wanted all of it. She just knew, or at least hoped, they could be together as a real couple and they’d make it work, they’d be great. She just knew, because that spark was there. Something she’d always believed in but had never felt, and it felt so intense in his presence. And when his lips finally met hers, it felt like electricity running down her spine and through her whole body in the most pleasant way. It was the sweetest kiss and left her wanting more the moment their lips parted. With a soft smile and feeling her chest moving up and down, she noticed his eyes locked with hers once again. An ocean of blue she’d be more than happy to call home, that shook all whole world at the same time that gave her peace. God, his eyes… she could look into them forever and never get bored. And as his face came closer to hers once more, she couldn’t help but smile against his lips as they kissed, this time a little more intense, which she welcomed and loved. The touch of his hand against her cheek, soft and warm, and the tip of his tongue pressed against her lip gave her all those butterflies she’d started to become familiar with, and she eagerly parted her lips for him, letting their tongues dance together, her fingers now running through his dark hair. Because she wanted to taste him, she wanted all of him and she had no more doubts or fears. She felt like she could conquer the world with him by her side, and she felt so happy and proud to call him husband. When the time came for them to break the kiss again, Nana found herself at a loss for words once more, so she just smiled, teeth sinking into her bottom lip, before she took his hand and joined him on his recliner, wanting to be closer to him.

Nana sure as hell seemed a lot calmer than he was. Maybe she was just more used to these feelings that to him where almost alien, or maybe she wasn’t even feeling them. He had definitely picked up some signs that she was and he thought then that maybe he should just come out with it and ask her. Get rid of that elephant in the room, help him get rid of his nervousness and sort it out once and for all. Basically he needed to know at least then things would be clear. By this point he was settling down on a recliner on the balcony across from his wife, which was still a strange concept but in a good way. He smiled when she once again brought him from his brain fog. The bottle of champagne was now on the table outside ready for refills, placed next to his packet of cigarettes and his lighter and matches just in case. He looked at it all and at that moment noticed the outdoor candles. In their lanterns obviously to be protected from the elements and he rose up from his chair taking the matches and lighting the candles around the balcony edge. Something inside him told him it was to make the most of everything but maybe it was more for the romantic effect. Returning to his recliner he sat facing her once more. Taking his glass from the table between their chairs he lifted it and cleared his throat with a small almost unnoticeable laugh. Nerves he supposed. But also him trying to act like everything was natural to him. Like he wasn’t partly absolutely terrified about what he was about to do. “To us.” he said simply at first with a big smile, he wanted it to seem like that was it. He even took a sip of his drink for liquid luck you might say, maybe the depleting levels of alcohol in his system was what was causing what seemed to be his major malfunction. Then after he swallowed he looked at her once more. Raising his glass again. “To my new and beautiful wife.” he made sure he kept eye contact, particularly as he said the word beautiful. Taking another sip he then added. “To us meeting… Or fate as they say.” he smirked a little at his. Each little toast seemed to be getting closer to what was keeping him from her. Each was also separated by a small swig from his glass “To an amazing night.” his smile got a little wider “To whatever the future may bring.” then with a wink he added. “May we face it together.” pausing he downed the last of his drink before adding “United as one.” he picked up the bottle and refilled his glass. Then downing that glass also before he lost the courage he leaned over, his face close to hers “Can I kiss you now? Not a kiss that is mandatory. But one we decide on?” he kept his grin a little cheeky just in case she said no. Maybe it wasn’t so romantic that he didn’t just kiss her, but he was careful. He didn’t want her thinking he just did things like that without asking permission, it was her body after all.
Nana laid down a little on the recliner, resting her feet even if they weren’t hurting as much, thanks to Alfie being too kind and carrying her on his back all the way to the hotel. She should have probably taken off her boots as soon as she entered the hotel room, but somehow, she still wanted to look good for him. They made her a little taller anyway. Watching Alfie lighting up the candles around the balcony’s edge, Nana turned on her side, smiling wide as he did, her heart melting a little more. When they’d met, she didn’t imagine there was such a romantic side to him, but the more he revealed it, the more she fell for him. “Such a great idea, I love it!” She complimented, making sure he knew how much she appreciated it. Watching him taking his glass, Nana sat up straight and also raised hers, waiting for their toast, and couldn’t help to notice he sounded somewhat nervous. Why she couldn’t decipher, because she felt quite happy and comfortable in his presence… she knew nervousness too well, more often than not experiencing anxiety in her daily life, but right now… the feeling in her stomach was far from that, all those butterflies that seemed to multiply the more time she spent with him. “To us!” She repeated with a smile, clinking their glasses and taking a sip. But when he kept adding beautiful sentences to his toast, Nana found herself at a loss for words, she didn’t even drink one more sip… frozen in her place and completely mesmerized by him and his words. The future, he mentioned the future? Together? Did she hear it right? She hoped she did… she hoped they’d be in each other’s futures, even if just as friends, in case he didn’t feel the same way she did, he seemed like a wonderful person to be around and Nana was so grateful they’d met. She felt so happy her eyes were a little blurred by some happy tears that had involuntarily formed, that’s how much she’d loved his words, that silly smile glued to her face once more. She was desperately searching for the right words to say, wanting to make a toast just as beautiful and heartfelt as his, but then all she could see was his face coming closer to hers and her heart started racing again, only to skip a beat the moment his question reached her ears. Still smiling wide, she locked her dark eyes on the blue infinity that were his, nodding as she also moved closer to him. “Yes… please, I really want you to kiss me…” She admitted, her voice somewhat low, while she raised a hand to caress his cheek, pulling him in a little closer as she waited for his lips to touch hers. In fact, there was nothing Nana wanted more, and she felt both excited and at peace that their feelings seemed mutual.

After carrying her over the threshold which he found rather amusing he carefully put her back on her own two feet. Turning to close the door behind him he then remembered “Oh, excuse me sir, could we get a bottle of pink champagne and a menu for room service please?” he asked the staff member. Who went off to retrieve the asked for items. “I noticed the champagne on the table was ordinary.” he told Nana then. “Wow, look at this place. Its stunning.” He really took the whole room in, the decor was great, simple but tasteful and not too girly which was nice. The bed looked comfy and was a good size and well, the hot tub definitely looked fun, it had also obviously been pre heated, even with the lid on you could see the occasional steam slipping from underneath it. He wondered what the bathroom would be like and decided he’d check it out in a few minutes, for now he wanted to see the view. He walked over to the floor to ceiling window to look out at Las Vegas. As he stood by the window he realised after a moment or two that he could see her reflection in it, just faint but obvious, almost like she was transparent and he suddenly found himself more fascinated by that than the view of almost all of the city stretched out in front of him. Then is dawned on him as he was peering through the window, even though he was looking at her for the most part that there seemed to be something out there, just outside the window. Looking for a handle or something for if there was a door all he saw was a small panel on the wall. He pressed and the windows, well what he thought had been windows, began to slide apart to reveal a balcony. “Wow. That’s amazing.” he commented with a slight chuckle, satisfied that he’d discovered it. “It’s even better considering how nice a night it is. Warm enough to actually sit out there. ” After a couple of minutes he then added “Plus I’m dying for a smoke.” He chuckled. He walked past Nana then to the luggage by the door, rummaging in his things to find his cigarettes and lighter. “Feel like joining me on the recliners on the balcony with a glass of champagne?” he asked her. “We can make that toast we talked about.” he then pondered “Do you smoke?” he held the pack out to her, realising in that moment that he was babbling. He was definitely filling the silence since the man outside left, maybe because of what he’d said about leaving them to it, maybe because for some reason he couldn’t get her reaction when the man had said that out of his head. That same sinking her teeth into her lip thing that he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about when she did it earlier. He pursed his lips. Then moved away again, over to the table with the champagne. “Shall I get this open and pour us a glass or do you want to wait for the pink stuff?” he asked her. As though right on cue the man returned with the pink champagne, knocking on the door. Alfie took it, and the menus and thanked him offering him a tip. “Right. Let’s get some champagne.” he popped the Cork of the pink stuff unable to stop the obvious typical reaction of going ‘wahey’ when it finally opened. He shook his own head at himself for doing that. He really did seem suddenly awkwardly trying not to be silent. He filled two glasses and handed one to her. “I’m off out for a smoke. Are you coming?”
Nana giggled a little as Alfie carried her over the threshold and thanked him as he put her back down. And when she heard him asking the staff member for a bottle of pink champagne, even if they already had champagne waiting for them, that wide smile that seemed glued to her face got a little wider. That was exactly why she was falling for him. He was super spontaneous and had this carefree atittude she admired so much, but at the same time, he was also super attentive, actually remembering her little wants and needs. “Thank you so much.” She gave him a sweet smile, raising a hand to softly caress his arm, and then nodded in agreement. “It really is! And it’s all for us!” An excited giggle escaped her lips as she looked around once more, just admiring how beautiful and luxurious the whole place looked. Watching Alfie walking over to the panoramic window to see the majestic view over the city, Nana decided she’d join him in a few moments, right after she found some vase to put her flowers. She loved them too much to let them wither just like that, especially since he’d found them just for her. Looking around, she found a pretty golden vase decorating the coffee table in front of the L-sectional couch, and with a somewhat triumphant smile, took it to the bathroom in order to fill it with water. Once inside, Nana’s lips parted in astonishment. Not only was it huge, it was as beautiful as the rest of the room, with marble floors and decorated mostly in white and gold, and it smelled so good. There was a huge round bathtub and a walk in shower just as big, two sinks and even a vanity table and a chaise longue, even the toilet was pretty, Nana thought. Quickly recovering from the initial shock, she finally filled the vase with some water and left the bathroom. “Oh my god, you so have to see the bathroom!” She commented with overflowing enthusiasm, while she placed the vase back on top of the coffee table and put the flowers in it, making sure all of them touched the water. Just then, she noticed Alfie had discovered a balcony behind the windows. “Wow! That’s pretty cool!” She nodded in agreement and smiled wide at his inviation to join him on the recliners with a glass of champagne. “I’d love to. It’s such a beautiful night!” And when he asked her if she smoked, Nana shrugged a little. “I’m not a regular smoker… just one or two cigarettes with friends, just for fun… I’ll definitely have a smoke with you, though.” She nodded, smiling at him. At his other question, she was going to tell him they could have a glass of the ordinary champagne, Nana wasn’t that picky, plus, she valued his company much more than whatever they could be drinking, but a knock on the door stopped her before she could answer. It was the staff member with the pink champagne and Nana smiled at his perfect timing. As Alfie popped the cork, Nana found herself giggling and clapping softly, and then giggled a little more at her and Alfie’s reaction. “Thank you!” She smiled at him, taking the glass he offered her. “Sure, let’s go.” Nana followed Alfie to the balcony and sat on one of the recliners, the soft wind blowing through her air. She couldn’t help but notice he seemed a little… restless? She dared not ask, but she hoped he wasn’t regretting being in this beautiful place with her, now that they both seemed to be sobering up a little. She surely wasn’t. “Mr Carpenter, shall we toast?” She asked, raising her glass.

Alfie turned to her, to the sound of her and even faster at the sound of her voice. He smiled, a wide smile practically showing all his teeth. At the sight of her it was almost like his jaw dropped to the floor. "You look... Incredible." he'd been searching for the word that did her justice. His eyes roamed up from the tip of her toes to her face. Eyes locking with eyes once more. You could tell she followed fashion sure but she looked fashionably comfortable and he liked that she didn't look like she'd taken a stupid amount of thinking to decide what to wear. She looked like one of those people who already had it planned out, who weren't dressing to impress, or if they were only themselves. He noticed as he got lost in those eyes once more that she didn't appear to be wearing the amount of make up that seemed to be the norm these days, if any, and he noted that if she wasn't wearing any then she didn't need it. She must have the most perfect skin he'd ever seen. Most girls he'd ever spent any amount of time with. And none had ever gotten this much out of him, which made him chuckle for a moment. Almost always looked like they'd painted their faces with a trowel full of make up. He lifted his palm and ran his knuckles down the side of her face and then his fingertips. Pecking the tip of her nose and then stealing a proper kiss. Pulling her closer by the waist as he did so. "Just for the memories, in case someone better steals you away." he half joked with her. It wasn't her that he thought would go with anyone else, just someone better than him he knew could come along and whisk someone as special as her off her feet. Give her what she deserved. He laughed though, to pretend it was completely a joke. It wasn't that he didn't trust her words, because she'd told him he was the one and such, he just still worried, deep deep down. Wondered if a girl of the world like her would tire of him. He tried to stop thinking about it then and held his arm out for her. "M'lady. Shall we." he smirked as he gestured to the door. "Okay, so tattoos first, or that ride before we lose the courage? Or in case the tattoos hurt too much?" He put a couple of suggestions out there. And snuck a sideways glance at her as they began to walk out. "Or leather jacket shop first? I can't help but think a leather would look very good with your already perfect outfit." he paused and shrugged. "I'm not the fashion expert though." he grinned wide again. "Maybe we could also stop for a drink somewhere? I don't know if it was the alcohol last night or what but I'm parched today. I'm not sure my mouth had every been this dry. Maybe it's sympathetic to the desert. Maybe if I was somewhere with lots more water I'd be constantly drooling" he joked with her. he had called for the elevator by this point and they stood waiting. Turning towards her as they waited he added. "Although you did almost make me drool a few times. You sure know which outfits to put on to impress a guy." he raised his eyebrows and nudged her, teasing her a little more before being a bit more serious. "Oh and no arguments when I pay for everything today and I mean everything by the way. We still have the money we won and that's what it's for. For us to enjoy this time here. I'm sure we agreed something similar last night, I couldn't be sure on the exact words." He shrugged. Kissed her once more and stepped into the lift as it pinged open then, holding out his hand for her as he did so.

Alfie gave her the kiss she requested, enjoying the moment. As he always did. Taking a deep breath before he made his way out onto the balcony and sparked up. Holding the packet out for her to take one if she wanted one. He inhaled and let the smoke out slowly as he wandered to the edge and looked out on the view. “Isn’t it gorgeous?” he asked, not exactly expecting an answer, more just voicing his thoughts. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Moving so she could rest her head on his shoulder if she wanted to. He snuck sideways glances at her. “Not as gorgeous as you though, obviously.” He gave her a wide cheeky smile and blew a kiss at her. Looking out once more he pointed out to one of the tall buildings. “I think that’s the one with the ride thing at the top. It’s supposed to like dangle you out over the city, extremely high up. Are you afraid of heights?” he asked her. His interest peaked then as to what her fears might be. “I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie myself.” he then admitted to her. “One of the things I’ve wanted to do is go to the theme parks and ride all the rollercoasters.” he spoke, his voice getting a little more excited at the prospect. He finished his cigarette and put it out. “Shall we get ready and head out for the day then?” he pulled her close for a hug and stole another kiss. Taking a deep breath. “We should go and enjoy this quite nice weather before it gets dark.” he began to walk inside. “I’ll go and get dressed. I’ll be ready in about ten minutes not that there’s any rush. I know girls always take longer.” he teased her slightly but he honestly didn’t mind. After heading to get ready he was dressed and hair slicked back with a little wax in it within just over five minutes. He found his wallet out and put that and his phone in his jeans pocket. Sitting on the couch as he waited for Nana. He slid his phone out and turned it on before putting it back in his pocket. He wandered around the apartment as he waited, taking a look at all the electronic bits and pieces, the high tech gadgets and such. It was all stuff he was intrigued by but not all stuff he understood. After pressing buttons and being unsure what exactly he’d done he made his way back into the kitchen and got himself a glass of water. He honestly didn’t mind how long she took but he still felt impatient for getting the day started. To have Nana back by his side once more and them to begin enjoying their day, their first proper day as a married couple. He’d actually only just realised that and he smiled to himself at that thought. His phone vibrated in his pocket then and he was just about to check it when he heard Nana coming back into the room. “All ready?” he asked, standing up from his seat on the couch and making his way towards her.
The more kisses they shared, the more Nana loved Alfie’s kisses. It made her happy that he gave her one more at her request. Then she followed him onto the balcony, giving him a sweet smile as she thanked him for the cigarette she took out of his packet. Lighting it up, she took a long drag, just enjoying the glorious morning sun and the wonderful view over the city. At Alfie’s comment, she smiled and nodded. “It really is beautiful.” Joining him on the balcony’s edge, Nana felt Alfie’s arm wrapped around her shoulders, and her immediate reaction was to rest her head against his chest, cuddling up to him a little more, feeling truly happy and at peace. When he mentioned that the view wasn’t as gorgeous as her, Nana looked up at him, giggling a little, and as he blew a kiss at her, she pretended to catch it with her hand and brought it to her heart. A heart that belonged to him, of that she had no doubts. Once he pointed at a tall building, Nana looked in its direction, eyes widening with excitement as he spoke about the ride. “I think… I’d be a little scared at first, yes. But it also sounds like a lot of fun, the kind of scary things we do just to prove ourselves we can, and feel the rush.” She beamed at him, perfectly understanding what he meant about being an adrenaline junkie. “Should we go there too?” She raised an eyebrow, as if challenging him. Then, at the mention of rollercoasters, she nodded with excitement. “I’ve been wanting to do that for ages too! But no one ever wanted to go with me, so… We should totally go and ride all the scariest rollercoasters someday!” She suggested, already feeling extremely excited for the adventures they’d have. At the mention of getting dressed and enjoying the day before it got dark, Nana smiled and nodded in agreement, loving just how spontaneously Alfie pulled her close for a hug, stealing another kiss. Little moments like that truly made her heart overflow with joy. “Okay, I’ll join you in a minute.” She smiled at him, watching him walking into the room once more. The way he spoke, Nana presumed he wanted his privacy while getting dressed, so she stayed outside a little longer, finishing her cigarette and smoking another one, hoping he wouldn’t mind. After a while, she walked carefully into the room, making sure Alfie was already dressed, and started getting herself dressed as well. From what they’d planned, she presumed they’d be doing a lot of different things, so the best choice would probably be something comfortable. Still, she also wanted to look her best. Going through her luggage, she felt a little upset, as nothing seemed to be good enough, but it probably wasn’t the clothes fault. Sighing, she looked in the mirror, pinching her thighs just like her ex-boyfriend did when he pointed out her flaws. Then, she finally decided for a short black jumpsuit with long sleeves, paired with her favourite sneakers, white with pretty black ribbons. She thought it looked pretty, while still allowing more freedom than a dress or a skirt would. After blow drying her hair and doing her make up, Nana was ready. Taking her purse, she joined Alfie in the living room. “Yup, all ready.” She smiled at him, noticing just how gorgeous he looked. “Where should we go first? The tattoo shop?” She suggested, feeling excited once more.

"Isn't it gorgeous?" he asked, not exactly expecting an answer, more just voicing his thoughts. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Moving so she could rest her head on his shoulder if she wanted to. He snuck sideways glances at her. "Not as gorgeous as you though, obviously." He gave her a wide cheeky smile and blew a kiss at her. Looking out once more he pointed out to one of the tall buildings. "I think that's the one with the ride thing at the top. It's supposed to like dangle you out over the city, extremely high up. Are you afraid of heights?" he asked her. His interest peaked then as to what her fears might be. "I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie myself." he then admitted to her. "One of the things I've wanted to do is go to the theme parks and ride all the rollercoasters." he spoke, his voice getting a little more excited at the prospect. He finished his cigarette and put it out. "Shall we get ready and head out for the day then?" he pulled her close for a hug and stole another kiss. Taking a deep breath. "We should go and enjoy this quite nice weather before it gets dark." he began to walk inside. "I'll go and get dressed. I'll be ready in about ten minutes not that there's any rush. I know girls always take longer." he teased her slightly but he honestly didn't mind. After pressing buttons and being unsure what exactly he'd done he made his way back into the kitchen and got himself a glass of water. He honestly didn't mind how long she took but he still felt impatient for getting the day started. To have Nana back by his side once more and them to begin enjoying their day, their first proper day as a married couple. He'd actually only just realised that and he smiled to himself at that thought. His phone vibrated in his pocket then and he was just about to check it when he heard Nana coming back into the room. "All ready?" he asked, standing up from his seat on the couch and making his way towards her.

Alfie was once again pleased that she seemed to be on board with his ideas, then on hearing hers he suddenly looked excited. “The leather jackets, they’d completely slipped my mind, what a wonderful idea.” he pursed his lips. “If they don’t personalise them, maybe we can. We have a fashion expert in our universe after all.” he winked at her. “You could teach me something and we could have fun at the same time.” he suggested, “If they can do it they would look a hell of a lot better than whatever I’d be able to do though.” he then added with a chuckle. He was still watching her with little glances whilst talking and continuing to eat his breakfast. He sipped his coffee. Glad of the Caffeine. Noticed how she ate and drank and smiled, she was so cute and adorable and he wanted to see all of her own unique ways of doing things. It brought a half smile half smirk to his face as he watched her evening out her pancake as she cut it. He shook his head to stop himself getting lost in his own mind. “Anyway, with the tattoos. I like the idea of yesterday’s date on our ring fingers, or maybe Mr and Mrs or..” he paused and lowered his voice not wanting to sound too over the top “something along the lines of her one, his only.” he shrugged. Downing his champagne he glanced across at her before focusing back on his food. He had a particularly tasty mouthful, made an appreciative noise and then put some berries with syrup on a fork and held it towards her. “Try this concoction I just had. It’s amazing.” he beamed at her. He’d never imagined he’d be in a relationship where he wanted to do the kind of soppy typical things like feed his other half across the table or at all but it was so natural with Nana. He understood what all the fuss was about now, with all the romantic moments and milestones and such. He’d always been unbothered about it, now, he was pretty certain he wanted to do all of those typical things and reach all of those milestones with Nana. His wife, the most amazing woman he had ever met, outside of his family, and the woman he knew now he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. His smile had become almost creepy wide as he’d got lost in his thoughts once more. “Anyway. So how about we get ourselves dressed and sorted. Head out for these jackets, and whatever else we need, get these matching tattoos.” he raised a brow at her, this part excited him greatly. He always loved getting a new tattoo, this would be his first with someone else having a matching one. “Then we can head back and get on with relaxing her alone together?” he quirked his other brow then and smirked at Nana. Drinking down his coffee he poured another. “Not that there’s any rush to finish breakfast. Eat as much as you like, the energy might help later.” he winked and hid behind his freshly filled coffee, trying not to laugh. Everything was so natural and easy now, for him at least, he hoped she felt the same. He remembered some slight awkward moments the previous night but it someone felt like a distant memory, like their talking had worked through them and helped. He felt comfortable around her, he felt like he could joke and have a laugh, but also be serious when wanted or needed. He liked that balance. It felt right. He smiled at her again, popped a Berry in his mouth and stood up, heading over to check his phone. “I meant to ask you if your phone needed charging, to remind yoy just in case. I don’t want the in laws mad at me before they’ve met me for keeping you away from contacting them, or your work people for that matter.” he laughed and stuck his tongue at a little at her to show he was messing around, he felt he’d sometimes still need to make that clear at least for the time being, just in case. He clicked his phone on. Humming a tune as he began to put his own finished pots in the sink. He hoped he didn’t seem rude, he just didn’t want to rush her and he was impatient and excited to get on with their day. To make the most of every last second together. “Did you want or need anything else?” he asked her then in the hoped that if he had seemed rude this might help get him back in the good books. “When you’ve done do you want to join me on the balcony for a smoke?” he added then. “Then I’ll get dressed and I’ll be ready to head out for the day.” he grinned.
Nana thought Alfie could find the idea of them getting personalized leather jackets a little corny, so when he actually seemed excited for it, she felt so happy, a wide smile lighting up her features as he referred to her as a fashion expert. “Yes, that sounds fun! And I’m sure you’d do an amazing job too!” She chuckled with him. Nana would love to teach him everything she knew, and what she didn’t know, she’d love to learn with him. And not only about fashion, but about life in general. She wanted to share and do everything with Alfie. Taking a sip of her orange juice, she watched how Alfie sipped his coffee, how he ate his food, and couldn’t keep herself from smiling. Everyday from now on would start like this, just her and her husband, having breakfast together and talking about the most various things, and she was so looking forward to it. As he told her his ideas for their couple tattoo, Nana beamed at him, visibly excited. “I love all your ideas, my love! I wouldn’t mind getting more than one… how about yesterday’s date on our ring fingers, because it was such a special day for us, and… his one and her only? Because I already know you’re my one and only.” She looked up at him, blushing slightly, but happy that she could share her thoughts and feelings with him. Nana spread a little more chocolate on her pancake before she took another bite. It was absolutely delicious! Just then, Alfie held his fork towards. Smiling wide, Nana moved forward, opening her mouth as she let him feed her some berries with syrup. Humming at just how good it tasted, she nodded. “Mmm it really is! Also… this chocolate is just so so good! You need to try it!” She beamed at him, cutting a bit of her pancake with a generous amount of chocolate and putting it on her fork, which she also held towards Alfie. She loved how everything in their relationship came so naturally and felt so right, how they were already feeding each other across the table, and she felt her heart overflowing with joy once more. She still didn’t know how she got so lucky, having a man as amazing as Alfie to call her husband, because he was everything she had ever wanted, but never thought she’d find. And his smile… that beautiful, wide smile of his could lighten up a room and never failed to make her heart melt a little more. She sipped on her coffee, listening as Alfie summarized their plans for the day, loving just how good he was at making plans and mental checklists. She nodded, smiling wide. Every single activity they had planned so far excited her, especially getting matching tattoos. She loved Alfie’s tattoos, they only added to his charm and she could look at them for hours, tracing them with her fingers, trying to imagine the stories behind each one of them. The fact that he actually wanted to get matching ink with her flattered her. “That sounds perfect! And relaxing here together is such perfect way to end our amazing first day together, as a married couple.” She spoke the last words in an almost shy manner, almost as if she couldn’t still believe this was all real, but smiling so wide at the thought. His next comment, however, made her blush a little and she chuckled with him. “Okay… then I’ll have another coffee for extra energy, just in case.” She gave him a playful wink, pouring herself another coffee and sipping on it, as she kept eye contact and tried not to laugh, while her foot reached up under the table to softly hit his leg. Nana loved just how playful they were with each other, but could also have honest, serious talks about everything. She remembered an awkward moment between them the previous night, and just how sad she’d felt, but it also led them to be more open with each other and share their feelings, so she decided maybe it happened for a good reason and she’d never let one bad moment ruin all the other amazing ones they’d been having so far. She looked at Alfie as he stood up, smiling wide at just how thoughtful he always was towards her. “Now that you mention it… I think I really do need to charge my phone. It’s probably dead by now.” She chuckled, also getting up to plug her phone to its charger. “And don’t worry… the in laws will love you, you certainly treat their daughter like a princess.” She winked playfully, a wide smile across her lips, but she meant every word, Alfie treated her so well and she appreciated every little thing he did for her. Nana noticed Alfie seemed to be in an extremely good mood, humming a song as he put the used pots in the sink, and she was quick to help him, excited to start their day. When he asked if she wanted anything else, Nana grinned, walking towards him, arms wrapping around his neck. “As a matter of fact, I do… I really, really want a kiss from my gorgeous husband.” She announced, teeth sinking into her bottom lip as she looked up at him, waiting. At his invitation to join him for a smoke, Nana nodded, smiling wide. “Sure, I’d love to!” She wrapped her arm around his waist as they made their way to the balcony.

Alfie was brought out of his thoughts by the feel of her arms wrapping around him. A smile spread across his face. And he placed his hands on top of hers for a moment giving them a quick squeeze. "Morning gorgeous." he replied, the smile even wider as he spoke. It came off his tongue naturally and he liked how it sounded, but chuckling he added. "Should have said Wife eh?" he watched her. When she sat in his lap he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her, twice. Enjoying the feel of her soft lips on his. "Sorry. Morning breath, plus coffee and cigarette breath. Bet that wasn't too nice for you." he laughed once more and then furrowed his brows. "Scrap the morning breath part. I brushed my teeth, I forgot." he chuckled. He wondered as he watched her if she was regretting last night at all, then shaking his head as he remembered how much them thinking things without saying them had almost caused trouble the night before he decided to check. Whilst also replying to her question and mention of being scared. "I slept like a baby with you beside me. And I wouldn't have left without saying anything or at all for that matter. I assume as you didn't run off in the night while I was asleep that you don't regret last night at all?" he questioned. Tipping his head slightly to the side, trying to act like he was joking, but secretly hoping she was definitely not feeling regretful in any way shape or form. He stubbed out his finished smoke and stood up as she did to go take a shower. "When you get out of the shower. Breakfast will be ready." he told her. He didn't want her to have to make anything or help in any way. He wanted to make his new wife a lovely first morning breakfast to remember. He made his way back inside, collecting the items out of the fridge. Putting the hob and oven on to warm up. While he waited he got some pastries ready on a tray and set the fruit and cereals out onto the table in bowls. Adding jams, honey and chocolate spread. He then put out a selection of milks remembering the conversation they had about almond milk last night. The table was big, so he set things up down one end, almost like a mini continental breakfast. Then set two places, searching the kitchen area for cutlery and placemats and napkins. He put out all the plates and remaining bowls, then two cups and saucers each for tea and coffee and a glass for juice, aswell as a taller flute for a small champagne. They were celebrating after all. The hob and oven were hot enough by this point and he put some pastries in the oven to warm and set about making pancakes. As he did so he found himself humming the kiss the girl song from Little Mermaid once more. It was like it was now imprinted on his brain, but for some reason it made him happy, like the song was linked to an amazing memory for him now.

The next morning Alfie woke feeling fresher than he thought he would. He had taken some painkillers and drank a pint of water before going to sleep but he actually felt fresh as a daisy which was good. He also hadn’t had one of those moments of not remembering when he woke up which he was glad about. Everything was fresh in his mind and he felt as good about it now as he did the night before, if not better. He lay in bed watching Nana sleeping soundly next to him for a while before pulling himself out of bed. He tiptoed across the carpet and headed into the bathroom. The shower was gigantic and he turned it on before using the rest of the facilities and brushing his teeth. He had a fairly long shower, enjoying the water cascading down him and wrapped a towel around himself at the waist after drying his body as much as he could and using a second towel to dry off his hair so that it wasn’t dripping everywhere. He padded back out and into the little kitchenette that the honeymoon suite had, flicking on the kettle. He had ordered items to make breakfast and set about making batter for pancakes and putting fruit into bowls. He was going to make a pot of tea eventually. But there was also a fancy coffee machine it took longer than he cared to admit for him to figure out how to work but he finally had an espresso and he added a splash of cold water before downing it, a good start to the day. He put the machine on for another. He had the batter ready for the pancakes and was waiting for the hob to warm up, so decided to get his phone and charger out of his bag, plugging it in and setting it on the sideboard in the dining area. He flicked on the smaller TV above the dining room table and turned the volume right down so as not to disturb Nana. He spent a few seconds watching her once more, the smile wide on his face. Then he decided he would put the stuff into the small fridge and turn the hob back off until she woke up. Grabbing his coffee he got his cigarettes from the side where he’d left them the night before with the lighter. He made his way onto the balcony grabbing a robe on his way out. He breathed in the fresh air, and had left the door a little ajar to let a waft of fresh air into the room, but not too wide that it would be cold and he made sure to check Nana was covered up before doing so, he didn’t want her to catch a chill. He wrapped the robe around himself and stood at the edge of the balcony taking in the view. Setting his coffee on the table next to one of the loungers he took out a cigarette and lit it. Inhaling deep. The first cigarette of the day was always the best and he enjoyed the way it filled his lungs. Such a bad habit but one he thoroughly enjoyed. As he smoked he watched the city coming to life below him, it was still fairly early, especially for Vegas, it was much more of an activity hive at night, but that wasn’t to say nothing happened in the day. He watched the traffic building up, it looked so small from up here. He sighed, this whole place was incredible, he was unbelievably happy they’d been able to get the extra night when they’d gone down last night. He thought back to the funny conversation with the receptionist and laughed lightly to himself. He also remembered how he’d never explained to Nana why he’d almost freaked out at leaving her here, but he wasn’t going to dwell on it, he’d more than likely explain it to her one day. He turned his thoughts to plans for the pair of them as he finished his morning smoke.
The next morning, Nana woke up as a ray of sunshine hit her eyes. Squinting them just a little, she opened her eyes, happily stretching on the bed, a huge smile upon her lips. She felt extremely relaxed and happy, the happiest she’d ever remember being, all the memories from the previous night still fresh in her mind, her heart overflowing with joy. Much to her surprise, her head didn’t hurt at all, which was good, and she felt happy that she’d followed Alfie’s advice to take some painkillers with water before they fell asleep. Alfie, her amazing new husband. She turned on the bed to hug him and wake him up with kisses, except he wasn’t there. Nana almost jumped, sitting up straight on the bed, as if someone had just woken her up with freezing water. She looked around the room, panicking a little. What if he’d woken up and regretted everything, now that they were both sober? But he wouldn’t just leave her there, would he? Quickly getting up, she walked around the room. “Alfie?” She called out, but as she saw his luggage in its place, the smell of coffee filling her nose, she let out a relieved sigh, even chuckling a little at how dumb she’d been. She glanced at the balcony and there he was, enjoying his morning smoke. Beaming once more, she walked into the balcony, careful not to make too much noise, and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. “Good morning, my love!” She smiled wide, placing a big kiss on his cheek. She hadn’t thought about this, the words simply escaped her lips, but they sounded so right. As she made her way around the recliner, Nana sat on Alfie’s lap and placed a soft kiss on his lips, hoping he wouldn’t mind. “I got a little scared when I woke up and didn’t see you…” She confessed shyly, giggling a little. “Did you sleep well?” Watching the city, she thought it looked very different from how it looked during the night, but it wasn’t any less beautiful. Smiling happily, she turned to look at Alfie once more, running her fingers through his somewhat wet hair and then softly over his cheek, just admiring him, thinking just how lucky she’d been to find such an amazing husband. “I’m just going to take a quick shower and then I’ll help you make breakfast, okay?” She smiled up at him, pecking his lips once more before she got up and walked into the huge, beautiful bathroom. After using the rest of the facilities and brushing her teeth, Nana took a warm, relaxing shower. She replayed some moments of the previous evening in her mind, and thought about their future plans. She couldn’t wait for this day to start, even if they hadn’t made any particular plans. She knew she’d be as happy going somewhere in Vegas as she’d be if they stayed all day in the honeymoon suite. All that mattered to her was spending time with Alfie. She truly hoped he still felt as happy with their marriage as she did. Stepping outside the shower, Nana dried her body with a towel and used a second one for her hair, putting on a bathrobe before she left the bathroom and joined Alfie once more.

Alfie was still absentmindedly stroking her leg as they conversed. He listened to her talk about the avocado. “You’re a total band wagon jumper aren’t you?” he teased her. He smiled when she mentioned her new last name. “You fully fit the specialness of a Carpenter.” he grinned wide, knowing you didn’t have to be any more special to be a Carpenter but teasing her all the same. He laughed a proper belly laugh when she agreed about the poker face. “You’re so cute.” he told her. Tickling her legs slightly. He listened to her explain the movie and nodded to show he was really listening. “Seems like a film made just for us.” he chuckled as he said that to her. It wasn’t strictly true but it did seem more than a little appropriate and related to their situation quite a lot. Then he went back to their previous conversation about staying here another night as a sudden thought hit him. “Plus it seems a shame to not actually use the hot tub and stuff we have in this room. We got it because it was this special honeymoon suite, we ought to make the most of it.” he nodded his head as though that was it, it was fully decided now. “Actually I might go down to reception and book it in before anyone else manages to.” he said then, suddenly getting worried that they might not be able to have the room but excited about the idea of them holing up in here together. He looked at the clock on the night stand. “Wow, it’s like almost 2am.” he chuckled. “Time flies when you’re having fun I suppose.” he sat up but kept her legs over him. Swigging a big gulp of his coffee he stretched. “Do you want to come down with me or stay here?” he asked. Reluctantly he began to get out of bed. He looked for the shirt he’d had on before and grabbed it. Shoving it over his head quickly. “Also we have to return our Elvis outfits tomorrow so we don’t want to be pushed for time or anything.” he spoke casually as though that was an excuse for them to stay. He walked back over the the bed and quickly drank the rest of his coffee. He looked down at her still on the bed and smiled. He placed one hand either side of her and kissed her forehead and then her nose. “You look so comfy. You stay there. I’ll only be a few minutes. I’ll lock the door if you want so nobody can come in and disturb you.” he suddenly though about the man that worked in the hotel outside in the hallway. “On second thoughts. Maybe you should come with me. I might get lost.” he let out an awkward chuckle. All of a sudden he felt crazy over protective. He knew nothing would happen but he worried that there was a tiny chance and that he’d blame himself if it did. On the other hand he didn’t want to seem like he was telling her what to do. “I mean, I’d be glad of the company is all.” he shrugged trying to be as casual as he possibly could and knowing he was fully failing. He sighed. “It’s up to you.” he knew he couldn’t tell her what to do and he would never want to, or even seem like he was trying to. So he waited patiently to see what she would decide to do.
Nana laughed as he called her a band wagon jumper. “I’m not!” She objected with a pout. “I just love trying new things.” She explained, loving how they kept teasing each other. The way he told her she was special enough to be a Carpenter had her smiling wide, and she couldn’t help but feel a little proud. Because yes, he was really special in her eyes. When he called her cute and tickled her legs, Nana giggled, jerking her legs a little. She was a very ticklish person, and she did try to tickle the sides of his body as well, little giggles still leaving her lips. Nana loved the way Alfie seemed interested in the movie, even more because it was one of her favorites of all time. She chuckled a little at his comment, nodding in agreement. “It does! I do hope we get a happy ever after, though.” She smiled wide, hoping she hadn’t spoiled the movie for him. And in that moment she realized, that was her biggest wish. To be happy ever after with Alfie, in their little universe. The thought made her smile wide, and she kept smiling as she listened to him speaking about staying another day in the honeymoon suite. “I think you’re absolutely right! I’d really love to try the hot tub.” She nodded in agreement, their previous failed attempt to use it almost gone from her mind now. When he mentioned the time, she chuckled a little. “It sure does!” She hadn’t realized it was already this late, but she was indeed starting to feel a little tired. So when Alfie got up all of a sudden and started putting on his shirt, Nana looked at him with a confused expression. But then she recognised he was probably right, they should book the room before someone else did, if they really wanted to stay for one more night. As he kissed her forehead and nose, Nana let out a soft giggle and kissed his chin at the same time. “Okay, I’ll wait here for you.” She gave him a sweet smile, taking a sip of her hot chocolate. Just then, he seemed to change his mind, asking her to come with him. She was about to say yes, of course she wouldn’t mind going to the reception with him, and she would have thought nothing of it, if only his body language and the way he spoke didn’t seem a little strange. Suddenly he seemed… worried, nervous? She couldn’t really tell, but she could definitely understand he really wanted her to go with him. Maybe he was afraid something bad would happen to any of them? With a soft smile, she nodded. “Sure, I’ll go with you.” Getting up, Nana walked towards Alfie and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace. She wanted to let him know that he had nothing to worry about. “I would miss you anyway!” She looked up at him, smiling wide, and placed a soft peck on his lips before she pulled away and went through her luggage, thinking her little pink shorts and top weren’t appropriate to walk around the hotel. She put on a dark coat that covered her body down to her knees and a pair of shoes. “Okay, I’m ready. Let’s go!” Smiling, she walked towards Alfie and took his hand, ready to go downstairs. “I really hope the room his still available for tomorrow.”

He laughed a proper belly laugh when she agreed about the poker face. "You're so cute." he told her. Tickling her legs slightly. He listened to her explain the movie and nodded to show he was really listening. "Seems like a film made just for us." he chuckled as he said that to her. It wasn't strictly true but it did seem more than a little appropriate and related to their situation quite a lot. Then he went back to their previous conversation about staying here another night as a sudden thought hit him. "Plus it seems a shame to not actually use the hot tub and stuff we have in this room. We got it because it was this special honeymoon suite, we ought to make the most of it." he nodded his head as though that was it, it was fully decided now. "Actually I might go down to reception and book it in before anyone else manages to." he said then, suddenly getting worried that they might not be able to have the room but excited about the idea of them holing up in here together. He looked at the clock on the night stand. "Wow, it's like almost 2am." he chuckled. "Time flies when you're having fun I suppose." he sat up but kept her legs over him. Swigging a big gulp of his coffee he stretched. "Do you want to come down with me or stay here?" he asked. Reluctantly he began to get out of bed. He looked for the shirt he'd had on before and grabbed it. Shoving it over his head quickly. "Also we have to return our Elvis outfits tomorrow so we don't want to be pushed for time or anything." he spoke casually as though that was an excuse for them to stay. He walked back over the the bed and quickly drank the rest of his coffee. He looked down at her still on the bed and smiled. He placed one hand either side of her and kissed her forehead and then her nose. "You look so comfy. You stay there. I'll only be a few minutes. I'll lock the door if you want so nobody can come in and disturb you." he suddenly though about the man that worked in the hotel outside in the hallway. "On second thoughts. Maybe you should come with me. I might get lost." he let out an awkward chuckle. All of a sudden he felt crazy over protective. He knew nothing would happen but he worried that there was a tiny chance and that he'd blame himself if it did. On the other hand he didn't want to seem like he was telling her what to do. "I mean, I'd be glad of the company is all." he shrugged trying to be as casual as he possibly could and knowing he was fully failing. He sighed. "It's up to you." he knew he couldn't tell her what to do and he would never want to, or even seem like he was trying to. So he waited patiently to see what she would decide to do.

Alfie was happy, the happiest he’d ever been, he was almost sure of that. As he snuggled with Nana he felt safe and comfortable. Like he was in this bubble that he never wanted to break. He nodded at her idea. “Tomorrow and then we’ll move on.” he said, a tinge of sadness in his voice at the idea but he knew they had to leave at some point. Even though he wanted to stay just the two of them for as long as possible he also knew the quicker they got telling everyone over with the better it would be. When they talked it was almost as if they’d known each other longer than they had, despite the fact they were learning new things about each other with every conversation he couldn’t help but notice how they had such similarities. Every conversation he noticed they seemed to do similar things or like similar things. Like with the crusts, he nodded “I’ll make us yorkshire puddings one day.” he spoke casually. Alfie liked the way she traced his tattoos. It relaxed him. “One day I’ll explain all of them to you, at the moment I just want to enjoy being the two of us, snuggling up here together.” he sighed happily. “Maybe we could get matching tattoos now we’re married.” he suggested then with a chuckle. He was joking because he didn’t know if she’d actually think it was a good idea. So he acted like it was only a joke just in case. “Maybe I’ll have to try more of these fads, if you love Almond Milk then it must be amazing and I might be missing out on a lot more. Tell me what do you think of avocado?” he smirked. He liked being a little teasing with her. Avocado was the first thing that popped into his head that he remembered had been a phase recently with anyone on a health kick. He watched for her reaction to him, the smirk still on his lips. The singing of The Little Mermaid was a moment he really felt inspired by her, he enjoyed it, as cheesy as it might have seemed. When she said about being part of his world he couldn’t help the grin on his face. He then slightly hummed the tune to that song. Smiling wider than he thought possible. He turned his attention back to the movie for a moment or two. “What’s going on?” he asked her with a nod towards the screen as he hadn’t been properly paying attention. He was far too busy watching her watch the movie than actually watching himself. He loved watching her different facial expressions with the different things. He’d noticed it with more than just the movie. How expressive her face was with everything so far. He smiled as he thought about how her expressions were so obvious on her face and randomly said as he looked at her “You would make a terrible poker player.” he was staring at her again and realised he needed to stop doing so. As he adjusted his position slightly to get in a better position to watch the movie and actually see the screen. It was one of her favorites so he wanted to be interested for her. He pulled her legs over him even more, his hand resting on her thigh, fingers drawing little circles across her skin. It was so soft and smooth, he loved every inch of her already and wanted to get to know every tiny part of her, every inch. He began just smoothing his hand up and down her leg, not really paying attention to what he was doing as he tried to focus on the film. He hoped she didn’t mind but she was just such a distraction.
“Okay.” Nana smiled and nodded at Alfie. She was happy he’d agreed to stay one more day and then leave somewhere else, just the two of them, before they told their families. Truth be told, they were having the most magical time in Vegas and she’d feel a little sad to leave, but she knew they’d have to at some point. She would forever be thankful to this place and the Universe for bringing them together, but also felt excited to visit other places with Alfie and live all kinds of adventures with him, big and small ones. She felt like she could do anything as long as they were together, and the thought made her smile. “I was just thinking… I came to Vegas with a plane ticket saying Miss Serizawa and would have never imagined it would be the last one. Now I’m Mrs Carpenter.” She giggled, but there was pride in her voice. Nana was still getting used to the idea that she was now a married woman, which wasn’t difficult at all, considering she fell more in love with her husband with every little thing he did for her or every new thing she learned about him. She loved how similar they were in some aspects. When Alfie told her he’d make Yorkshire pudding one day, she widened her eyes a little, beaming at him. “You will? I’m sure they’ll be delicious!” Honestly, Nana thought she’d love everything he’d make, just because he’d put effort in making something for them. And as she kept tracing his tattoos as they spoke, she felt happy that he didn’t seem to mind. At his comment, she looked up at him and nodded, smiling. “I’d love to hear it someday, they’re really beautiful. Also… yes, to the matching tattoos!” Her smile grew a little wider and she chuckled with him. It felt like one of those ideas that felt both crazy and right at the same time, much like many others they’d had so far, so she knew they should totally do it. Nana loved tattoos, even if she had only one, and she felt happy that he actually wanted to get one with her. She chuckled more as he asked her about the avocado. “I like avocado, it’s really versatile and we can do lots of things with it… once I tried the most delicious vegan chocolate mousse, and it was made with avocado.” She spoke with excitement. “I’m just not a fan on those detox juices… I don’t really like mixing fruits with vegetables.” She stuck her tongue out playfully and then giggled. “Tell me something you don’t like!” Nana loved to learn things about him, and their conversations seemed to flow so naturally. After he sang The Little Mermaid for her, Nana was still mesmerized. It was such a beautiful moment and she was happy he also understood the ‘part of your world’ reference. As he started humming the tune to this song, she hummed with him, giggling a little as they finished. She could feel her heart overflowing with joy, and snuggled up to him a little more as they turned their attention to the movie. “Well… so that guy, Victor, was supposed to marry Victoria, because their parents arranged their marriage. Then he got super nervous at the wedding rehearsal and couldn’t say his vows properly. So he ran to the forest, where he finally managed to say them, and ended up married to Emily, the Corpse Bride.” Nana chuckled a little as she explained the movie, even pointing at the characters on the screen when she mentioned their names. Not that she had been paying attention, all her focus was still on Alfie, but she’d seen it a lot of times and already knew the story by heart. At the mention of her making a terrible poker player, Nana looked up at him, furrowing her eyebrows a little, and chuckled in a state of amused confusion. “Whyyy?! I can even make a poker face, look!” She tried to make the most serious face she could come up with, but then started laughing and failed miserably. “Okay, I guess you’re right…” She admitted, still giggling. As Alfie adjusted his position to better see the movie, so did Nana, so they could stay snuggled up together. She loved being this close to him, he made her feel comfortable and safe, plus he was so warm and had such a nice scent. Judging by how he pulled her legs over him a little more, Nana could tell Alfie also enjoyed their closeness and the thought made her happy. Feeling his hand on her thigh, first just drawing little circles across her skin, then softly moving up and down her leg, sent the most pleasant shivers down her spine. Still caressing his arm, Nana placed a soft kiss on his chest and looked up at him, smiling, before she snuggled up to him a little more and returned her attention to the screen. And then she understood, their little universe wasn’t just a place, it was each other and little intimate moments like this.

Alfie noticed her looking at his tattoos and felt proud of them in that moment. He smiled but he was looking down and hoped she wouldn’t see or figure out what he was smiling about. When she leaned back into the pillows he found himself naturally wrapping his arm around her to move closer. Enjoying the way she snuggled against him. He blushed slightly at her mention of the little mermaid songs and nodded. “Yep. Most of them.” he left it at that. He smiled at her agreement of them staying a few more days but then thought. “But we did say about going back but it just being the two of us for a few days before we venture out of the universe that is us.” he laughed. “You decide which you’d rather do.” He listened to her describing how she ate certain foods, smiling and chuckling slightly. “Like if I like a certain thing on my plate most then I save that for last.” he nodded. “If I have a roast dinner then I’ll eat a little tiny bit of everything together on my fork. Or in my Yorkshire pudding. Have you ever had those?” he asked. “It’s a British thing I think.” he ruched his nose as he pondered over it. “It’s the same batter mix as pancakes but these are more savory. ” He then told her as he remembered. “Other strange eating things I have are that I only eat crusts from sandwiches or toast or whatever if I’m in the right mood. Sometimes my teeth don’t feel right for them. I also like to eat certain chocolate and sweet treats frozen so they last longer.” he shrugged. “Oh and I can’t stand my food touching. Like if I have lots of dishes from the Chinese take out they can’t be touching on my plate.” he laughed at that one, because out loud it did sound ridiculous. He put a tiny bit of his hot milk into his coffee and took a sip. “Woah, that’s extremely hot.” he laughed as he pressed the top of his tongue onto his lip, trying to flatten and push the pain away. “Actually in reference to that. I have a confession that’s another little secret.” Turning to her he moved close to keep his voice quieter. “Recently. And I don’t want to sound like a wagon jumper.” he paused checking around despite that he knew nobody else was there. “I’ve actually had a taste for milks other than dairy, like almond milk and oat milk.” he put his finger to his lips once more. “I love a good horror too.” he smiled wide, horror was one of his favorite genres and he had seen most horrors out there, even ones most people had never even heard of. At the mention of disney again he was reminded of the conversation a few moments ago. Now she was settled under the covers with him, he pulled her legs over his wrapping his legs around hers a little for the warmth. He began to him the tune of the song from The Little Mermaid as he settled down and pulled her close hoping she wouldn’t mind. The feel of her bare legs even through his sweatpants was something he was more than enjoying and he sighed happily before opening his mouth to sing the song he’d been humming. “There you see her. Sitting there across the way. She don’t got a lot to say but there’s something about her. And you don’t know why but you’re dying to try, you wanna kiss the girl.” he ran his finger down her cheek as he sang the last two lines inching a little closer. Before pecking her lips lightly. He smiled, turned towards the movie and focused his look onto the screen. Hoping his kiss would have the impact he was wanting it to because he felt so comfortable with her, snuggled up in the bed, like he’d known her forever.
As Alfie wrapped his arm around her, Nana immediately moved closer to him, letting one hand rest on his bare chest. His skin felt warm and soft, and this time she did let her finger softly trace one of his tattoos. She thought they were beautiful, and she’d love to learn the meaning behind some of them one day, if he wanted to tell her. But just like any other art, she didn’t need to understand it to appreciate its beauty. She didn’t need a reason to love them, she loved them because they were a part of him. When he told her he knew most of The Little Mermaid’s songs, Nana looked up at him, smiling wide. “Me too!” She chuckled a little, before she listened to him remembering they’d spoke about going back. “Well… maybe we could stay here tomorrow? Just so we can rest and cure our hangover?” She chuckled a little more. “Then we go somewhere else, just the two of us, for a couple days before we break the big news. What do you think?” Even though he’d let her decide, Nana really valued his opinion. She listened as he described how he ate certain foods, laughing and nodding in agreement as he mentioned saving the things he liked the most for last. “I do that too!” At the mention of the Yorkshire pudding, Nana furrowed her eyebrows a little, trying to think if she’d ever tried it, but listened with attention as he spoke about it. “I don’t think I’ve ever tried it… I’d love to, though! Can you make it? Or is there somewhere we can try it?” She asked with excitement in her voice. She chuckled a little more as he kept talking about his eating habits. “Yup… sometimes I only eat a little bit of my toast crust… then it feels too dry and I get bored of eating it.” She laughed, finding it amazing how they did some similar things. And as he mentioned telling her a little secret, even lowering his voice, Nana giggled, moving a little closer to him. “Almond milk is my favourite!” She whispered, smiling wide. “That’s awesome! Hopefully we’ll get to watch a lot of horror movies together!” She beamed with excitement, all their plans, the big and the little ones, were something that Nana really looked forward to. Once under the covers, Nana loved the way Alfie pulled her legs over his, wrapping them around hers. It felt so cozy and warm and Nana snuggled up to him a little more, resting her head on his chest while her hand softly stroked his arm. She felt so safe and protected there with him. The moment he began to hum the song from the Little Mermaid, Nana recognized it immediately and looked up at him, smiling. What he did next, though, she wasn’t expecting at all. It was the most beautiful of surprises. He was actually singing to her, ‘Kiss the Girl’, and she just beamed at him, listening in pure adoration, all those butterflies in her stomach flying like crazy once more. And when he ran his finger down her cheek before pecking her lips, her heart did skip a beat. She was at a loss for words, but wrapped her arm around him a little tighter, with a huge smile across her face. She felt like she’d found her Prince Charming. “You’re amazing… and I’m so happy to be part of your world!” She spoke softly, looking up at him again. As she turned her attention to the movie again, she knew her focus was not on the story anymore. She couldn’t stop thinking about just how hard and fast she’d fallen in love with him, and how amazing it felt to be there cuddled up against him, hoping every night would end like this from now on.

Alfie changed into some sweatpants, leaving his top off and by the time he’d got changed and found his phone to put it on charge their hot drinks and popcorn had arrived. He settled down on the bed and watched as she flicked through the movies. “Corpse bride sounds good. I’ve never seen it. I’ve always had to put up with Disney though so I’m used to the songs and such, actually know quite a few of them off by heart but shh.” he paused and turned to her with his finger to his lips and a big grin “Don’t tell anyone.” he laughed. Snuggling back into the plush pillows he let out a sigh. “This bed is extremely comfy. I could get used to this. Maybe we should change our minds and stay for a few more days and just not leave this bed at all.” he half joked. He was actually a little nervous about going home. Once they told people their little universe as it was wouldn’t be just theirs anymore. “Don’t you want it to be just the two of us in our little universe forever?” he asked her turning to her again with a quizzical look on his face before smirking trying not to seem too serious. He popped a piece of popcorn in his mouth and sucked on it until it was mushy. “Isn’t it strange how different people have different ways of eating things?” he said then, it wasn’t an actual question more of a statement but he realised that it was one of the things they would get to know about each other. Not just the things they liked to eat but the way in which they ate them. He let out a content sigh. “I can’t remember what I ordered to drink.” he chuckled as he reached over to look at the two hot drinks on the side. “One hot chocolate for my hot Mrs and a filter coffee with hot milk for me.” he smiled. “Coffee is one of my favorites and gets me through a lot.” As he spoke he couldn’t help but keep looking at her in her little pink shorts and matching top. Her legs exposed made him want to touch her but he refrained. He tucked his arms underneath the big comforter and smiled at her. “Are you getting under with me?” he asked her. “We can snuggle. Those bare legs look a little chilly. I can help you warm them up if you need me to.” he smirked and raised an eyebrow at her. Going back to the subject of films he watched the different options flick across the screen. “Anyway, if we’re still awake after Corpse Bride I can always have a pick. Let you know what kind of movies I like. Actually I have a rather mixed taste with most things.” he was rambling again, he knew that but it seemed to be something he tended to do around her for some reason. It was like he was trying to fill the silence, until she spoke. Just incase the reason she wasn’t replying was because she didn’t like what he said.
Nana turned her head to smile at Alfie when he settled down on the bed beside her. Since he’d left his top off, she couldn’t help but notice his tattoos, feeling a little fascinated, and she almost reached out to trace one of them with her finger, but ultimately she didn’t, thinking he probably wouldn’t like that. So she just smiled a little more, thinking just how beautiful he really was, inside and out, and how happy she felt that they were getting along so well. His comment about the Disney movies made her laugh with him. With an excited grin, she widened her eyes. “You do? Do you know the Little Mermaid songs? That one has always been my favourite.” She confessed with a little giggle, as she also leaned back into the pillows. “We could do that, I suppose… stay for a few more days.” Nana smiled at him once again, nodding in agreement. Thinking about their little universe never failed to make her happy, and yes, she’d love to stay there forever, just her and Alfie. She knew they’d have to go back and tell their families at some point, but she was also aware that it could be a stressful situation, so if they could just postpone it a little more, not sharing their little universe with anyone else just yet, she wouldn’t mind at all. In fact, she loved the idea. “I do… I really want us to stay in our little universe forever… I think it’s already my favorite place to be.” She beamed at him, also eating a piece of popcorn. At his question, Nana furrowed her eyebrows a little, but then nodded. She’d never thought about it before, but he was absolutely right. “That’s true… like, I always eat my pizza crust first. And when eating a burger on the plate, I always make sure it’s a perfect shape… so first it’s round, and then I start cutting the sides until it’s a square, and try to keep it even until I finish. Crazy, I know…” She chuckled, shaking her head a little. Those are the kind of things she’d never told anyone and no one had ever seemed to notice, little things she’d love to share with Alfie, and learn about him too. Giggling a little at his comment about the hot chocolate, Nana grabbed her mug and took a sip. “Mmm… delicious! I love coffee too, especially in the morning, but almost never add milk.” At the mention of her chilly legs, Nana giggled, instinctively wrapping her arms around her legs. “Sure, I’d love that.” She giggled a little more, getting under the covers with him. It felt warm and cozy and she cuddled up to him a little, feeding him a popcorn. “That sounds great. I also have a mixed taste… like, I love Disney movies as much as the scariest horror flicks you can think about, so…” She chuckled, pressing play once she found Corpse Bride. Nana thought it was funny they’d be watching a movie about a wedding on their wedding night, and still, she hoped their marriage would have a happy ending, unlike the one from the movie.

He stood up then. Pulling her towards him into a full embrace and holding her close. “Why don’t you pick the movie.” he suggested. He ran his fingers along the edge of the folded edge of the gown she was wrapped up in. How badly he wanted to pull it off of her but he had to stop himself. He was glad she wanted to wait too, but he was sure he didn’t actually want to, he just thought it was the best thing to do. It didn’t feel right now after everything he’d said and everything he’d implied. He smiled at her. Watching her intently. He wanted to read her mind, wanted to know what she was thinking. If she was actually in agreement with him. If she actually knew he meant what he was saying or if she was worried that it was for some other reason. “You know I really do want you. Right?” he whispered to her. Kinking a brow as he asked the question. “If I didn’t have as much practice at control of my urges it would have been obvious before” he chuckled with his words. Flicking his eyes down to show what he was talking about without being so blunt and obvious by saying the actual words. He swallowed hard a little embarrassed again by what he’d ended up saying, as he looked at her again though, he got once again too lost in her eyes for it to matter. He never cared about anything when he looked in her eyes, it made everything he was thinking about almost vanish. He smiled wide again. “Oh and yes to the popcorn. How about a soft drink? Or a hot chocolate or coffee?” he suggested. “Warm us up and keep us cosy while we snuggle down together.” he beamed at her. He was genuinely happy that it seemed they’d worked things out. Happy about the idea of them snuggling up together like a proper married couple. Enjoying a film and laughing and chatting. Even getting to know knew things about one another maybe. He loved finding out things about her no matter how big or small. “Why don’t you make it your favorite movie. Then I learn something new about you on top of all the other stuff I already know.” he grinned at her. “I can’t wait to know every little thing about you.” he spoke softly then. His hand on her cheek once more as he leaned in and pecked her lips lightly. “Now. What do you want to drink? I’ll go and order that room service.” he said as he began to head inside. Turning back to look at her from the doorway. “God you really take my breath away.” he said then, his voice a little breathy as he spoke. “I feel like the luckiest guy in the whole universe.” he beamed at her once more before heading inside.
Smiling, Nana hugged him back, cuddling up a little against his chest. “Okay.” She nodded at his suggestion to pick the movie. Looking down, she watched him running his fingers along the folded edge of her robe, not really knowing what to think of it. Sometimes, she wished she could read his mind, but at the same time she didn’t. She loved to hear his thoughts from him, and even if the words he spoke weren’t exactly what he felt or thought, she so desperately wanted to believe them. Because at least in his words, she felt like she could be enough, and it made her happy. His comment about controlling his urges had her chuckling with him, as her eyes followed his and she understood what he meant. Chuckling a little more, she got on the tip of her toes to place a kiss on his cheek. He was actually trying to make her feel better and she appreciated the effort. “A hot chocolate would be great!” She smiled at his suggestion. And thinking about them snuggled up together watching a movie made her realize she felt a little tired already, it had surely been a very long day and evening, a roller coaster of emotions, so maybe a little relaxing time would be a nice way to finish the day. She hoped they would get many more days together after this one, though. “My favorite movie…” She pursed her lips in thought for a moment. It made her genuinely happy that he wanted to learn things about her, as she also wanted to learn everything about him. “Well, I’ve always loved Corpse Bride… I know it’s animation, but I really love their concept of love crossing the barrier between life and death, plus I know all the songs by heart.” She giggled a little, speaking with enthusiasm as she hoped he wouldn’t think it was too childish. “But we can pick a totally different one if you prefer!” She added quickly, smiling against his lips as she pecked them back. His comment about her taking his breath away and feeling like the luckiest guy in the universe made her giggle a little more. “It’s mutual, then!” She gave him a playful wink as she followed him inside. While Alfie ordered their popcorn and drinks, Nana quickly went through her luggage to find something comfortable to wear. Still keeping the bathrobe, she put on another set of lingerie, a simpler one this time, and a pair of pink shorts. Finally removing the robe, she put on a matching top and sat on the bed, waiting for him while she browsed through the movies.

Alfie genuinely enjoyed listening to her talk about her family and especially her grandma, it was like she just shone when she spoke about them but her grandma in particular and he knew what she meant about the special place in her heart. "Of course I want to come. Anything or anyone who is special to you is something or someone I want to see or meet." he pulled a daft face after he spoke and laughed "I could have said that a lot more simply but you get what I mean." he laughed a little more then. "Your grandma sounds super cool, like the kind of family member you actual want people to meet." he smirked at her, teasing her a little before clearing up the insinuation "All of my siblings are members I want you to meet though. Particularly Chiles, and she will like you." Pausing he added "Maybe not right off the bat but when she sees what I see." he looked at her and smiled then frowning he added "Actually maybe you shouldn't meet her because then when she sees what I see you might decide you married the wrong twin." He stuck his tongue out at her enjoying teasing her like the way they had teased each other back and forth all night. He was beginning to once again feel a lot more relaxed, something like talking about his uneasy memory would normally have put him in a bad mood for a while if not the next few days, just the way it dawned on him, the realness of it. With Nana that didn't even feel possible. He knew when it felt right he'd be able to tell her anything, he felt like she would never judge him. "Anyway, you're worried about my sister liking you, I have your grandma to impress, you know older generations are definitely more difficult." he was smirking again, but then he pouted, implying he had it way worse, joking with her trying to ease the nervousness she'd seemed to try to cover with her giggle. Changing the subject he moved on hoping she might not overthink it if he distracted. "Are they the only family still in Japan?" he asked referring to her Auntie. "Also Japanese food, I don't want to sound like total amateur but I've probably not had much of it to be honest. Just a bit of the stuff you get in the takeaway or restaurants and I feel like with most places it's never as real or authentic as in the actual place. But I do love food in general. In fact if we got to your Aunties restaurant she probably won't have an issue with getting me to try the food but more the getting me to leave" he nodded and licked his lips for emphasis on his love of food. "In fact now we're talking about food, I'm starving, shall we get some room service? I also really fancy a different drink, maybe a beer for a change. Will you think in more manly then as I've been drinking cocktails most of the night?" he laughed to show he was only joking and didn't actually care about how manly anyone thought he was. He went to grab the menus and started glancing through one, handing the other over to her. While he waited he decided he could start on her next question. He pondered a moment. "Well I wanted to see if I could go any further with the music but I think I've changed my mind now." he licked his lips as he looked at her. He didn't want to presume but he didn't want to have just gotten married and then Swan off to do band stuff all the time. He wanted to spend time with her, do things together. He shrugged. "I guess maybe I'd like to visit some more countries." he said. The beginning of the sentence he wasn't sure but he was a bit more confident of the dream by the time the sentence was finished. Actually it was a pretty brilliant idea. "Why don't we decide to do that together?" he suggested then, eyes wide with excitement as he looked at her, taking her hands in his once more. "We could do like a countries bucket list or check list and visit loads of different places, and we could start with Japan. Sort of like a world tour just not all at once because of work and stuff." He was so exited by the idea that he was shaking her hands in emphasis along with his own with nearly every word, his grin now spread so wide across his face it probably looked like his face might break.

Alfie feels a hot flush wash over him, a heat over his whole body, not visible to the naked eye and knows why. He feels like he’s done something he shouldn’t have. Like he’s betrayed his memory, and his family. He swore it wasn’t how he remembered it when he thought of it to tell her but the words just left his mouth like he knew what he was saying and had no control. He wishes it had been different but it hadn’t. Maybe even though he hadn’t realised it before, there was so many different types of happy and the relief and sense of pride were what actually made the memory happy, were what had stuck out in his head and made him think of that memory. Maybe it was because it was king of the beginning of something new for them all. He shrugged as he looked at her. “Maybe someday I’ll explain. Just not today.” he tried to keep the words light and simple. He didn’t want her to think she couldn’t know him or know about this particular event because that was not the case “honestly…” he added in explanation, pausing with a sigh “I just don’t want to completely ruin the mood, and some things… Like that, definitely would.” he smiled at her then, properly once again. A genuine smile. He found it endearing that she wanted to listen and wanted to help. He loved that about her. When she began talking about her memory he leaned forward to pay attention, his elbows on his knees and his chin on his hands. He listened intently. Could see the joy in her words, in her expression. His smile widened at the thought of a little 8 year old Nana and how cute she must have been. It sure sounded like she was happy which was nice. When she got to the part about the kimono and her grandma he honestly had the thought, like she said she had at the time, that she was going to be angry and felt a sense of relief when she revealed she wasn’t, almost letting out a sigh. He listened to her descriptions of this festival and it sounded incredible. When she asked about Jim going he sat up, his eyes wide. She had taken him by surprise. In an extremely good way. “Really? You want me to come to the Hanami?” he feared he had pronounced it wrong as he replied, he was uncertain with these sorts of things but the thought was fleeting. Excitement overtook his slight worry. “I would love to come. I’d especially love to meet your Grandma.” he smiled wide again, like before, the smile stretching his features. “It sounds like she means a great deal to you. That family does in general, like with me.” he nodded as he spoke, and he wondered if maybe her grandma was one of her family members that meant the most to her, a bit like him and his sister, but he didn’t want to ask in case he insulted her in some way. “When is it, the festival?” he added the festival part to clear up exactly what he was talking about just in case it wasn’t clear. He was suddenly thinking about going and how amazing and fun it would be. He had so many more questions about the festival and such but he didn’t want to bombard her and to cause her to disinvite him because now she’d mentioned it he needed to go. He held his hands out to her, his smile wide. “I can’t wait.” he grinned. “Now come on. What’s your next question?”
Nana kept paying attention to Alfie and his tense expression. She found herself worried about him and his siblings, hoping there was something she could do to at least make him feel better, but she knew in that moment he wasn’t ready to talk and she’d respect that, she’d give him time and space, she just wanted him to know she’d be there whenever he needed her, because she definitely would. For good or for worse, Nana was incredibly stubborn and she never gave up on the things and people that mattered to her, and Alfie definitely did. She nodded and smiled at him. “Sure. Just know I’m here.” She reassured, by no means wanting to make him feel bad or pressured. As she started telling him about her memory, Nana noticed how attentive he looked and just how cute his expression was, it made her smile even more as she kept speaking. And when he actually seemed excited about the flower festival she loved so much, Nana felt thrilled. He even got the pronunciation right, and she nodded with enthusiasm. “Yes! I’d love for you to come! It’s just so beautiful and… my grandma and her home, where I grew up… I have so many good memories, it’s kind of my happy place and I’d love to share it with you.” She admitted with a wide smile. “Grandma is really sweet, and she’s always had a young spirit. I think she’ll love you too. Oh, and there’s aunt Sachiko, my dad’s sister. She owns a restaurant, Anna and I loved to help her when we were kids. I hope you like Japanese food, she’ll make you try everything.” Nana giggled. In her mind she could already picture Alfie with her in Tokyo and it was a vision that made her really happy. At the mention of her grandma meaning a lot to her, Nana smiled and nodded. “She does. We’re really close and I look up to her a lot, she’d an incredible woman. I love my family, but my grandma… she’s got that special place in my heart, you know?” She smiled a little more, hoping he would understand what she meant. He probably did, she sensed he loved his sister above all. “I’d also love to meet your siblings one day. I hope your sister will like me.” A little nervous giggle escaped her lips, because she realized there was always the possibility she wouldn’t. She was just a stranger who’d married her brother after all, but she hoped things would turn out fine. Alfie’s question about the festival brought her back from her toughts. “It’s in the spring, by the end of March.” She smiled and took his hands in hers, visibly excited. “I’m so happy that you want to come!” There it was again, that silly smile glued to her face. It was all because of him and she didn’t mind one bit. It made her truly happy that they already seemed to be planning for the future, and this time for real. The future. It gave her an idea for the next question. “Hmm… a dream. Tell me one of your dreams, something you’d like to do or achieve in the future.” She hoped this question wouldn’t make him tense like the previous one, she’d genuinely hate for that to happen.

Alfie was distracted to say the least when she stole his smoke. It wasn’t like smoking was exactly considered sexy but when she took a drag and exhaled he’d have argued with anyone that it most definitely was. It gave her so far kind of sweet look a bad girl edge and boy did he like that. He was almost having to pick his jaw up at the sight of her. Clearing his throat to bring himself back to reality he thought for a minute on which memory to tell. He didn’t want to have to go into too much family history right now, feeling like it would probably kill the mood but his story linked with it, he’d just have to explain later. “My favorite memory…” he paused. “Is with my siblings.” The day was almost clear like he was back there and he began to tell her about it. “Kyle, my eldest brother was driving. Noah, he’s the second oldest was in the front in the passenger seat. Me and Chiles were in the back of the car. ” he kept the reason why they were there held back, it wasn’t important to how he remembered what he was about to tell. “It was a hot day, early summer, we were supposed to be in school. We had the windows down and the breeze felt glorious.” he left out the fact that Kyle wasn’t legally supposed to drive. “We were all really happy, it was that kind of happy where you don’t know if you should be, but you just are.” he took a deep breath. “My siblings are really important to me and in that time, Chiles was really important to all three of us.” he shook his head, he didn’t want to go into the gory details. “Maybe because she’s the girl of the group.” he chuckled trying to lighten the mood he’d almost gone into. “Anyway.” he ran a hand through his hair. “There isn’t much else to the memory other than us being siblings, finally free of something.” he swallowed the lump in his throat. He wasn’t supposed to have said that much but she made him so comfortable. Like he could talk to her about anything, even all the stuff he’d kept away for years. “Like I said we were just happy.” he smiled at her. “Just all of us together, us boys singing along to the radio, spending quality time as a family. Siblings and best friends.” He pressed his lips together tight. Maybe he didn’t remember it as nicely as he thought but it was still his best memory because it was when they were first free of something they’d often thought they wouldn’t be. Stuck in the memory a little in his head he actually also remembered the panic, and the tense atmosphere. The glances between the boys, charged with energy and anger. But also the looks when they looked at their sister, who spent most of the time asleep and the relief they felt knowing what could have been. He remembered the whispered chats and exchanging of would have beens and could have beens, whilst ensuring she didn’t wake up and hear them. It was a little bad but it was mostly good and he remembers a sense of pride at having rescued themselves, together. He looked at Nana. Knowing the memory hadn’t come across how he’d first wanted it to. Thinking she’d probably have questions. He nodded his head and took a drag of the cigarette he’d taken back from her with a slight smirk. “Anyway. How about you. What’s your happiest memory?” he asked. Wanting the heat off of himself now.
Nana noticed how Alfie looked at her while she took a drag on his cigarette and she really loved it. It made her a little more confident in herself. Hearing him clear his throat, however, she placed all her focus on him, curious to hear whatever memory he wanted to share with her. At the mention of his siblings, she smiled wide. She knew by now how much his twin sister meant to him, just by the way he’d spoken about her earlier, but she wanted to know more about the rest of his family, which clearly was also important to him. The way he described it, she could almost see the scene in her mind, as if she was watching a movie, despite never having actually seen his siblings. It seemed like those glorified roadtrips from the movies, and she could almost feel the breeze and hear the songs coming out from the radio. It seemed like a beautiful memory and she just smiled as he spoke. And when he mentioned how important his siblings were to him, especially Chiles, she couldn’t help but admire him even more. Nana also loved her sister and placed a huge importante on her family, so she just felt happy they seemed to share the same values. “I do think you’re an amazing brother and your sister is lucky to have you.” She commented, speaking softly and caressing his hand with hers. But then Alfie spoke about them being free of something, and Nana couldn’t help but wonder what it could possibly be. He tried to finish in a positive tone, but Nana found it rather bittersweet, noticing his expression seemed somewhat tense. She’d love to hear more about this, help in any way she could, even if just by listening, but she didn’t want to sound nosy or to make him feel forced to talk about things he’d rather not to. Still, she tried to offer some support. “You know… you can tell me anything. When and if you want to talk more about this, or any other thing, I’ll be here for you, and I’ll listen.” She told him with a smile, meaning every word, and reached up to kiss his cheek. She loved this side of him just as much as she loved the funnier one, because she already cared a lot about him. The way he took back his cigarette from her lightened up the mood and made her chuckle a little. “My happiest memory…” She repeated, squinting her eyes a little as she searched her memory. She had quite a few and felt lucky as she realized that. “Well, I remember being little… I should be around 8, and we all still lived in Tokyo with my grandma. Mom and dad worked long hours, so my little sister Anna and me spent a lot of time with our grandma. There’s this festival, the Hanami… where people gather at the city park to view the sakura, I mean, the cherry blossoms. It’s just so beautiful, and we’d always go with grandma!” Nana smiled wide as she spoke, a warm feeling inside her heart. “I remember that year, I was in the attic and found some of grandma’s old kimonos… they were beautiful, especially a mint green one with pink lotus flowers and golden embroidery… I tried to put it on but failed miserably.” Nana stopped and giggled before she continued. “Then grandma found me and I thought she’d be mad, but she actually helped me and let me go to the Hanami wearing it, I felt so proud! Even if it was adjusted with safety pins because it was too big for me at the time.” She giggled a little more. “I love my grandma so much, and I try to visit her every year around the Hanami season. This year I’d be so happy if… I could take my husband with me.” She looked up at him with a hopeful look in her eyes and a wide smile. She genuinely meant it, it was her happy place and she’d be delighted to share it with him.
