Voe and Alastor are lying on the grass in the bayou of the latter’s room, staring at the man-made stars above. Voe sighs and smiles warmly, Alastor’s eyes dart towards her.

“What is on your mind, my dear?”

“Oh, it’s nothing, it’s just my silly brain wandering”

“Do tell, I love to hear what your mind can do.” He leans on his arm and stares down at her with a smirk

She rolls her eyes “I was just staring at these stars and wondering if this is what real stars in New Orleans look like.”

Alastor tsks “Oh no, absolutely not. I couldn’t capture the beauty of the Louisiana night sky no matter how hard I tried.”

She looks up at him “I figured. But then, after I thought about how I’d never been there, and thought about what it would have been like if I had ever gone to New Orleans. Then I wondered what it would have been like if we’d met each other when we were alive.”

“We are from two different periods my dear, that would not be possible.”

“I know, but I just wonder, what if we weren’t? Like, what if I was around in the 20s while you were still in your prime? I wonder how you looked then.” She reaches up and caresses his face

Alastor grins at his partner “Oh I was quite the lady killer.” He said, his tone full of arrogance

“In more ways than one,” Voe offered, and they both laughed to their heart’s content.

Pairing: Alastor x Voe

Story: Dizzy Dame

This story is a counterpart to my other story Our Renaissance. It’s a human AU, and while that one takes place in the past, this one takes place in the present.

2005

Under the dimly lit sky and in the cool breeze two strangers met under the marquee of the newly named August Wilson Theatre. They were there to see Jersey Boys, more important than them, however, are their children. One had never seen a Broadway show in their life and the other was there as a yearly birthday gift. May Fontenot had saved up for the entire year to be able to bring her son Alastor, age 12 to his first-ever trip to New York, whereas Cassius Bates simply spent less than a week’s paycheck for his daughter Vera’s 9th birthday present. Yes, they ran into each other under the marquee, the lights shining on them as if to say something important was about to take place. They bumped into each other when it came time to get their paper tickets scanned.

“Excuse me,” both of them said, laughing at the coincidence

Cassius took a step back “Ladies first,” he tells May while his daughter grows impatient

“Why did you let them go first?” she asks her father

“I chose to be kind Vera, and in the future, you should do the same,” he replies as he gets the tickets scanned

“Now we’re gonna be late,” she huffed and crossed her arms

“We are not going to be late,” he boops her nose “It only took a second and it cost me nothing,”

“I wanna hold it!” Vera jumped up and grabbed the ticket, not paying attention to anything her father had said, but his lesson would be applicable eventually.

Alastor stared behind them after the Dad and daughter that they had bumped into

“Do you know them Maman?”

“Of course not, I only just got here same as you. and watch where you’re going Alastor, you don’t wanna bump into nobody,” May physically turns his head to face forward as they continue on in their pursuit of a show.

Yay another WIP Wednesday! I’ve missed a few Wednesdays, my deepest apologies I’ve been working on “Daddy’s Girl” which you all should read, like seriously- ANYWAY! Today I’m introducing another story I’m working on.

“That’s the Show!” is a Human AU of my OC Bean and Alastor! It is set in the early 1900s and they are in a PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP! If you haven’t read “Bean 101” or studied you would know that Bean sees Alastor as a dad!

Anyway this is an AU within an AU! I got inspiration for this from “Our Renaissance” by @nkirukaj (Which you should also read, but after “Daddy’s Girl” lol 😆)

Everything about this story is under construction! 🚧 this is only one little part that I wrote, I might change some things!

Summary: Alastor Fontenot is the son of a poor florist, and aspires to be the best radio host New Orleans has ever seen. Beatrice Matten is the daughter of a washed up radio star, but doesn’t care for fame she just wants to find love in this cruel world. Both must put on a show every day just to fit into the world they wanna be apart of, but shows don’t stay on forever.

The show must come to an end..

Every sinner has a story. They were all once human and even the sinners that still walk the earth are lucky enough to continue their stories.

But stories must come to an end.

It doesn’t matter how. It doesn’t matter when.

There are millions of sinners, all with different stories. Today I’m gonna tell a story about two sinners, they share one story. This is because they both wanted one thing.

To be seen.

Today people say it’s easy to be seen, all you need is confidence, an idea, an audience. What happens if you have everything but the audience? What if the audience won’t give you a chance? Then what?

For Alastor Fontenot this was a question he had to ask himself.

Living in the early 1900s, it was not easy for Alastor to get what he wanted. He lived in the south, New Orleans to be exact, and in the south it was all about how you looked and where you came from. Alastor had neither the look nor the right place to come from.

Radio was all he wanted to do.

How would he get there?

Would he ever?

Only this story has the answers. Now let’s move on to the person.

Beatrice Matten. Unlike Alastor she had come from the right place but didn’t have the look, being the child of a child star meant all eyes were on her.

She only wanted one person’s attention. Someone she could connect with, someone she could relate to.

Beatrice never knew what love truly was, she thought it was what her mother had; a family. She thought it was what her father had; fame and fortune.

Or maybe love didn’t exist.

Maybe there was nobody for her.

Maybe for Beatrice and Alastor there was no way to get what they wanted.

Or maybe they never knew what they wanted..

To get the answers we want, this story starts way back in 1910.

Where two boys met in the woods.

(A/N: That was it! I may start writing this and “The Great and Powerful” at the same time, but that would be after “Daddy’s Girl” is completed)
