Credit to @natgeotravel : Video by @tobyharriman | My buddy Jussi and I decided to trek one of my inflatable paddleBoards and some camera gear (50lbs) 3 miles out to find this amazing place. After a 1 mile back track from going the wrong way, we finally found a route and set eyes on the most beautiful glacier lake I have ever seen. Paddleboarding here was the definitely one the most surreal moments I have experienced. This shot and trip has been on my wish list for years. My buddy @jussiruottinenphotography and I headed down to Seward, Alaska and were able to strap our inflatable paddleboards that @bodyglove to the side of a heli via my friends at @sewardhelicopters and we’re flown out to one of my favorite places, Bear Glacier. I have flown over this area a few times over the years, so getting dropped off to hang out for the day was definitely a bucket list item that is now checked off. What I also love about this area, is the Glacier Lagoon all these amazing icebergs are floating in, is droneable on the west side, as the majority of it on the East Side sits inside the Kenai Fjords National Park. #alaska #seward #bodyglove #alaskastories #lastfrontiermagazine (at Alaska) https://www.instagram.com/p/Byir0kWlxKX/?igshid=7uebuvd7655y

A week or so ago I was invited on a mini overnight Heli-hiking trip out to Knik Glacier with @flyalphaair x @anchoragehelicoptertours I obviously jumped onboard without a second thought. I have flown over and around this area a few times in bush planes and have always wanted to camp out and explore the area more. So this was our chance! We got dropped off mid afternoon, set up camp and hiked the ridge and onto Knik Glacier to explore around. When we finally got back to camp we were graced with a pretty stunning sunset. But just like all adventures, they come to an end and we were picked up the next morning to head home. So stoked to see more companies offering services like this! Next time I need to stay a few days though :D Thanks to @philokalia_ @anthonyburden @tyler_3rdreich and @jstarcher07 for the good laughs and amazing adventure! It still seems crazy I moved to Alaska 2 years ago, bought a house and completely settled in to the Alaskan lifestyle. After a full year there though, I ended up splitting my second year back in San Francisco, duty called, didn’t last long I guess. In the independent creative career and freelance world, life seems to go in unexpected ways, for good and bad. You have to adapt and follow to work and passions you want to be involved in, while also not completely burning out (like I did). . As much as I wish Alaska had more of a full time work load for me, In the Bay Area I get to work with a ton of amazing clients and on some pretty awesome projects with other creatives. I will always have my place in Alaska and will be jumping back and forth as much as possible, while also still seeking projects there, as there are definitely some great opportunities still. . It’s definitely hard to leave and avoid a place that is so dang beautiful with so much to do! I love San Francisco equally and some how have made this work and made it cheaper then when I use to live here, so I guess I’ll try to live the best of both worlds! For now at least. One day at a time… . In any case, super excited to headed back up too Alaska for some if not most of May. Here is a little short of my favorites clips over the years exploring this beautiful state.
