the disastrous life of saiki k for the fandom ask thing!
THANK you for asking :) 💖💖💖
How I first got into it: My friend told me about it and I started watching it two years ago and I only finished it recently hehe!
Everything I ship: Kuboyasu and Kaidou are absurdly cute friends and would make an absurdly cute couple. Aiura and Teruhashi would also be SUCH a power couple, and it helps that Aiura already likes her.
My favourite platonic relationship(s): -Kuboyasu and Kaidou again -The Saiki+Kaidou+Nendou+Kuboyasu friend group (they're always funny together and it's amazing that they even managed to become friends. Actually the natural progression of all their relationships with each other is neat) -The Yumehara+Aiura+Mera friend group (they're cute) -Mera and Nendou (they're also cute :D) -Saiki and Aiura (platonic soulmates ❤️) -Saiki and Toritsuka (NOT as a friendship necessarily I just think it's funny that Saiki is so mean to him that it makes his conduct towards everyone else look caring and also they're just funny in general) -Saiki and almost everybody tbh 💙 -Akechi and anyone (GIVE HIM FRIENDS)
Top 3 Characters: Aiura, Saiki, and Kuboyasu!!
One of my favourite scenes: The Kuboyasu receiving a love letter scene does stand out a bit... I think the way he reads the letter (and misinterprets it at first) because he's used to receiving challenge letters is sooo funny. ("Please go out with me!" "Heh! Bring it on, I'll go out with you to your grave!") I like his reaction when he figures out it's a love letter
I like that he spots Saiki spying on him with his weird animal instincts, and then immediately sits Saiki down and starts discussing his future plans with him. And I like how corny and over-the-top those future plans are... drop out of school... get married... wear matching outfits all the time with his wife... And when Kuboyasu says "if our child is a boy I'll name him Akua, and if it's a girl I'll name her Marin," I'm OBSESSED with the intonation of Saiki's voice when he replies "Aquamarine?!"
Favourite Fandom meme/inside joke: Dark Reunion is real, Kaidou is the Jet Black Wings for real, and we are all terrified of his power.

Waikīkī, Ka Wahi Aloha: Once a Native Hawaiian Paradise
23 September 2020 | HWST 356
Waikīkī; the picturesque beachscape portrayed to be full of beautifully slim brown women, soft white sand, shady palm trees and the clear blue crashing waves in the distance. Truly a tourist’s dreamscape paradise. Countless movies, television shows, songs, and music videos were created with this very place in mind. But how did it come to be this “pristine” nirvana that has social media influencers raving over the sunsets? What stories lie buried beneath the white sandy beach at Waikīkī and what can be learned about its history and pilina (relationship) with the old Hawaiʻi? In the 1940s, Andy Cummings wrote a song telling of what he remembered as the beautiful Waikīkī, ending it with the following lines:
Waikīkī
My whole life is empty without you
I miss that magic about you
Magic beside the sea
Magic of Waikīkī
Within the last five decades, after the rebirth and renewed interest of Hawaiian culture and traditions that came as a cultural renaissance, the recognized value for native practices, such as voyaging, plant farming, and fishing has increased. For the purpose of this paper, I will be focusing on loko iʻa fishing sites, and their ties to that magic of Waikīkī, the Waikīkī of the old Hawaiian days.
Moʻolelo and the Loko Iʻa of Waikīkī
The history of loko iʻa (Hawaiian fishpond systems) is both rich and extensive. With the help of both written and oral histories, Hinapukuiʻa, whose name translates to “Hina who gathers fish,” is an akua (spiritual entity) that guards fishermen. She is the wahine (wife) of Kūʻulakai and mother to ʻAiʻai. Kūʻulakai, is also an akua for fishermen, and is said to have built the first loko iʻa at Lehoʻula (Maui). In the moʻolelo of Kūʻulakai and Hinapukuiʻa, they were living at Lehoʻula on Maui. Kūʻulakai had devoted all his time to his fishing. His first project was to build a loko iʻa close to his house and near the aekai, where the surf breaks. When he found his spot, he stocked the pond with various kinds of fish. Upon a rocky platform, he also built a house, which he called by his own name, Kūʻula. There, he made it tradition to offer the first fish caught to the fish god. Because of his knowledge and skill, fish became obedient to him, and were plentiful during his life. His son ʻAiʻai had later picked up the practice, teaching people to find fish and how to utilize the loko iʻa system. It had since been a Hawaiian practice and cultural necessity for life in ancient Hawaiʻi.
More than a century ago, most of the Waikīkī shore was a narrow, thin ribbon of carbonate sand that lay between wetlands, mudflats, duck ponds, fishponds, and a gently sloping reef a few thousand feet wide. There wasn’t the long stretch of hot sand on the beach as you see now, nor the thin patches of sand on the reef. In fact, there were several small streams flowing into the sea from the mountains. This Waikīkī, with that old time magic, is not the Waikīkī photographed on vintage postcards. Nor is it the romantic landscape of an isolated paradise with spacious beaches and crashing crystal waves. Kānaka Maoli, Native Hawaiians, born and raised at Waikīkī are descendants of ancient Polynesians and Pacific Peoples who traveled across Oceania to the Hawaiian islands in waves. Those who had settled in Hawaiʻi brought with them ancient knowledge and items, creating working systems for food and water—the loko iʻa being one of the most innovative. Wakīkī’s waters not only made the the area a rich farming ground, but also a sacred place frequented for physical and spiritual renewal. Aliʻi Nui, divine rulers, favored Waikīkī not only because of its fruitful nature, but because it was an ideal dwelling site; Waikīkī had freshwater, bountiful agricultural and ocean harvests, as well its ready access to the culturally Pacific practice of sea transportation. It was truly a sacred Native Hawaiian paradise, infused with the mana (spiritual power) of these rulers who, in their relationships with their people and the ʻaina (land), watched over the different loʻi kalo (taro patched) and loko iʻa that were established in the area.
Unique to Hawaiʻi, the loko iʻa system is considered one of Hawaiʻi’s most significant traditional resources. They are biocultural articulations of Hawaiian innovation in the areas of engineering, education, hydrology, aquaculture and biology. Loko iʻa demonstrate traditional Hawaiʻi’s proficiency in not only sustainability, but in food security and sovereignty, and natural resource management. Research shows that more than 400 fishponds once functioned across Hawaiʻi, being an important and sustainable food source for the Hawaiian people, with a pre-contact population estimated to be nearly one million. Increasing immigration and western influences during the 19th and 20th centuries, along with increased industrialization, urbanization and overdevelopment would prove to have a devastating impact on the traditional Hawaiian resource management systems in Hawaiʻi. As a result, most Hawaiian fishponds fell into disrepair. The case today is that there are nowhere near as many loko iʻa in operation, and those that weren’t completely destroyed, are not fully functional.
Loko iʻa are considered sacred because of their spiritual power, and their inviting the presence of akua and ʻaumakua (ancestral spirits and guardians). They were things that beautified the land, and a land with many loko iʻa was called ʻāina momona, a fruitful land. Waikīkī is named to be reflective of it’s waters, wai being a general term for water, and for any type of water besides the saltwater of the ocean (kai). Kīkī means to spout or spray, so Waikīkī is named as a place of spouting water. When looking at the structure of loko iʻa systems (as well as loʻi irrigation systems), they connect from mauka (the mountains) to makai (the ocean), the physical place where freshwater and saltwater mix (muliwai). Utilizing that connected space dates back over half a millennium, as cultivation and propagation centered on many different fresh and saltwater plants and animals, with the primary species being the prized ‘ama‘ama (mullet) and ‘awa (milkfish). Waikīkī’s location was no exception to this optimal climate.
Development and Urbanization of Waikīkī
Many loko iʻa were created in the brackish waters of Wakīkī. Approaching the twentieth century, much of the Hawaiian lifestyle had begun to wane under the pressure of a perpetually growing tourism. In the late 1800s, the first developments began, solely with the purpose to bring forth visitors, hotels being some of the first constructed buildings. It is reported that the first marine structures—sea walls, groins, and piers—began appearing along the beach during this time. By 1906, the President of the Board of Health of the Territory of Hawaii, Lucius Pinkham, was endorsing full development of the Wakīkī district. Pinkham had declared the wetland of the Waikīkī "deleterious to public health...not drained at all and is incapable of effectual drainage and is in an unsanitary and dangerous condition". So, local loko iʻa were destroyed. Legacies of fishponds and cultivation, cultural places and practices were gone. With the intent to “improve” conditions, Pinkham had proposed to create a canal (ala wai) through the district that would drain and divert streams away from Waikīkī.
Aside from canal dredging, there’s spoken moʻolelo about the swamp areas that used to call Waikīkī home. There were mangrove trees, and with their removal came surpluses of makika (mosquitoes) which caused a lot of pilikia (problems) for those wanting to develop this space. With the coming of the 1910s, seawalls too became a problem for development and they were quickly done away with as the concern was “beach erosion”. Additionally, large quantities of sand were removed many years ago from Waikīkī. In 1910, the Pacific Commercial Advertiser reported on a meeting of the Hawaiʻi Promotion Committee—the article’s headline was: “Spoiling the Waikiki Beach. How Honolulu’s World-famous Bathing Resort is Being Ruined. Heavy Removal of Sand”.
Now, when you sit on a beach chair at Wakīkī, mai tai in hand, watching a slim brown woman gracefully dancing a hula to the strums of an ʻukulele, you smile at the beautiful scene as the sunsets behind her. It’s nearly impossible to imagine that water, power, life, magic, fulfillment and happiness that have been drained from the Wakīkī of old Hawaiʻi (a Hawaiian’s Hawaiʻi).
As the sun sets on the horizon, it tips billowing clouds with rose and golden light, and the ocean deepens to a majestic azure. Soft trade winds blow perfumed air across the faces of tourists and locals who smile warmly and chat as they glory in the perfect early evening and relish the gracious entertainment. It is a magical moment that seems to capture the essence of Wakīkī’s charm; its natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality.
But we, as Hawaiians, are familiar with the grim history upon which this paradise was built on. The stark contrast of loss and gain is especially powerful in this place of spouting waters, of Wakīkī. While her beauty, the magic of Wakīkī is still very much present, it is through research, listening, and learning of the past does one really get to learn of the fruitful ʻāina momona that Hawaiians had built as the historic Wakīkī.
There's a feeling deep in my heart
Stabbing at me just like a dart
It's a feeling heavenly
I see memories out of the past
Memories that always will last
Of the days that used to be (Of a place beside the sea)
Waikīkī

- AYYY HERE’S MY THIRD BABY I LOVE HIM - he was inspired by this song that I listened to at three in the morning - he is malaysian-japanese and was adopted by two women - his moms are freakishly pretty and also in the fashion industry - one is a famous indian model and the other an African photographer who also owns a fashion magazine - they live in NYC - zo (short for zohar) has poliosis and vitiligo, and also heterochromia - so he’s a very special boy - he has an insane amount of knowledge about marine biology - has no problems with studying at all, straight A student and enjoys it (what a nerd) - he has a weakness for neha, karol threatens to cut his fingers if he hurts her - otherwise he and karol are pretty chill - has a cat called Ser Mittens that helped him recover - “but korny, recover? From what?” - LEMME TELL YOU SON - my baby boy was bullied (ah, yes, that trope). He tried to cope with it, but in the end he couldn’t. He started drinking, at first it was very little but with time it became an addiction. It didn't take long and he did drugs too. He felt miserable and decided to quit whatever was going in with him. - so he went to his mothers, confessed everything and after lots of crying and cuddles, he volunteered to go to a clinic. He stayed 6 to 7 months there to recover completely - no drugs, no alcohol, no depressions. And it really helped him out to get back on the right track of life. - that’s when he got ser mittens. she is black n white but with lots of small dots like this fella here. - while he was away, his mothers found pictures in his room Zohar did of himself and his outfits, like a blogger for example. They were so amazed by them, that his mothers pulled some strings and published some of his photos, gaining some contracts and whatnot. Arlington was interested and offered him a scholarship when he came back from the clinic - excuse me, I needed some angst after raphael & natasha, those kids did everything good in their life jfc - his fashion taste is simply everything. Ranges from punk rock to sweet boy next door - he will question axel’s hair choice every god damn time he sees him. “y would u do dis to urself axel, neha babe how did u allow dis” - he’s demisexual - currently he is 1,75m (5’9”), but when he’s 18 he’ll be 1,89m (6’2”). Big boy - that’s it I guess
#i hope you like him because i LOVE HIM#se zohar#instagram aesthetic#Aesthetic#sweet elite#sweet elite oc#sweet elite scholar#kornys aesthetics#scholars

They may be thin and needle like but she could easily use them to penetrate through a monsters skin • Claws- Her claws are basically double edged katanas they can slash you up in a second if she wanted too • Eternal youth- Like most other monsters of Lalotai she has almost god like immortality she stopped at the age of a young adult, although she still can die it definitely won't be of old age Weaknesses/Flaws: • Kanamura poison- There's a reason Akua doesn't leave Lalotai often, the Kanamura are known for their poison darts especially her and her family one poison dart from them can kill her in a day if the poison isn't taken out immediately • lack of Brawn- Akua does have some muscle but there's a reason she avoids most fights with other monsters • Arrogance- As smart as she is it has caused her to become cocky when it comes to smarts and it can easily cost her her life depending on the foe • Sunlight- when Akua was younger she spent her days in the sun but now that she's older she's basically nocturnal so her eyes have changed to adjust to night vision if she went up on the surface she'd be probably blind until she went down somewhere dark Relationships: Family: Kekepania: " mother with a crown " They were closer when she was a teen Akua after gaining her approval now jut has a strong dislike for her and hates that when she calls for family gatherings she is forced to go there Kaholo: " nimble " Akua was never really close to Koholo they both just happened to be born together. Although kaholo doesn't say the same thing he often tries to create something of a relationship with Akua, that is through dumping his children for her to watch Sabura: " Third male child " Sabura was Akua's closest friend and family member. They both stuck together as thick as thieves, she regretted not taking Sabura on her journey as a preteen. She still mourns his death to this day Daichi: " grand first son " Akua full on hates Daichi, the feeling mutual with the latter. They've both been somewhat of rivals ever since they both hatched Akua would kill him if she could Tamatoa: They have a strange relationship to say the least. She met him as a preteen but only for a brief time because he attacked her but they later met again after the fight with moana and Maui. They struck a deal then she'd have a personal favor from him after putting him upright. She will sometimes go to bother them. So they do spend time with each other whether it's Through Tamatoa talking about himself(or singing) or her running away from him Maui: Doesn't really like the guy but doesn't really care about him either Biography: Akua was born on a large Polynesian island along with her mother and brood siblings, her father was killed and eaten by her mother so that she could make sure their brood would be strong and survive through infancy.... they did. She was born as the runt and was pushed harder then the rest of her siblings by her mother while her siblings gifts were in speed, endurance and strength she was gifted with intelligence she left as a preteen and searched for more knowledge which she later gained given by other monsters and Pacific Islanders when she returned to the island as a teen her mother was impressed by her newfound vast intelligence and knowledge and gifted her the north territory of the island where she finally earned her name. Years passed and eventually their family's line between each other was becoming thin. Daichi was becoming more and more aggressive, kaholo had long since left after finding a mate and leaving to Lalotai, Kekapania was having another brood with a new mate (which she didn't eat this time) which also made Daichi angry, and Akua was longing to leave and break apart from the family. Akua convinced the sibling she was closest to, Subura to leave the island with her to find someplace knew to live. When they went to leave Daichi found out believing they were betraying the family he went out to attack them. Subura and Akua worked together to fight back but Subura died in the battle Akua escaping but not without a scar to remember. As Akua travelled through Oceania she attacked anything she saw out of anger. Eventually she came to accept his death and went and helped a Polynesian tribes but not long after Maui found her and they both fought. The fight was never tatooed on Maui though. Maui in the end defeated Akua by tricking her into the realm of Monsters, Lalotai. She's stayed there ever since although she can leave she hasn't and has made residence there. While she was new there she came to fall in love and have a mate when they both tried for a brood of their own it never happened soon years passed with them trying and the other mate left to look for a new mate to carry on his offspring. Akua is glad he's gone. Now she serves as a pesterer of tamatoa Trivia ------ • Her spikes stand all the way up to look intimidating, when she's angry, tense, or annoyed • Has slitted eyes like that of a venomous snake she can change how wide her pupils are as well too • Is the runt of the litter • Acts somewhat like a cat and owl • Can swim alright and can go underwater for about 45 minutes • Although she does eat meat her body reacts way better to eating foods like Fruits, and other stuff • infertile
