I really love the headcanon of Roxas giving out his rings to his friends to always have a piece of him with them, cos honestly, it's just freaking adorable.
(Also dont mind the weird perspective, Im still struggling to draw so Im trying to do some weird stuff)

I was listening to Fallout Boy and that used to be my drug back then when I used to draw these two like there was no tomorrow.
I’m so sorry to all of you who saw all my Kingdom Hearts comics back in the day, the art was terrible 😅😅😅

AkuRoku <3
I was working on a comic when some old school music started playing on my playlist and suddenly I got 2008 vibes, when I was 15, and just discovered shonen ai/yaoi, and Axel and Roxas were my first mlm ship! :')
How I wish I could go back in time 16 years back and show this to my younger self who lurked on DeviantArt drooling over the AMAZING ORGXIII art I saw there telling myself I could never reach their level and see how she (I?) would react haha

To me, to say to someone 'You make me feel like I have a heart' is the most sweetest way to say 'I love you' and no one can convince me otherwise.

I mean, I still ship Akoroku and I still think it's a perfectly valid ship. Interpretations are just that, interpretations, and personally I think the way Axel acted from DDD going forward, his devotion and single-mindedness towards finding and restoring Roxas, can be read as romantic.
Like, again, people are free to ship whatever they want, but I just wish everyone wouldn't act like Akuroku is unanimously dead and buried. Plenty of people still ship it and still see value in it past KH2 and Days. It has EXACTLY as much standing with canon as Isa/Lea, which is to say, none at all, so really, it hasn't been "debunked" in any particularly special way that doesn't apply to a million other ships.

i feel like some of the condemnation of akuroku stems from a huge chunk of the kh fandom's obsession with infantilizing roxas. his naïvety and underdeveloped understanding of the world in canon (specifically days) is oversimplified and construed as some weird "toddler in a teenager body" situation which of course would make akuroku vewy icky yucky wucky and pwoblematic
(this also contributes to that weird ass fanon interpretation of axel in a parental role when he is the equivalent of a guy who hangs outside of gas stations offering to buy high schoolers booze and cigs so they'll think he's cool and be his friend because he doesn't get along with people his own age thanks to being emotionally stunted)
#.txt#akuroku#kingdom hearts#anyway they let the tips touch#afterwards axel can teach roxas how to tie his shoes or w/e

Roxas is from a small village at the foot of a great mountain, its people deeply spiritual, but also deeply superstitious.
They hold the belief that when identical children are born (twins, triplets, etc), only the first is the true human child, and that the ones born after are changelings, stealing the face of the first child in an attempt to be born into the human world.
Roxas, unfortunately, is the second born in a pair of identical twins.
Normally, custom would dictate that the supposed changeling be killed, their body burned in a ceremony to excise the evil spirit.
However, Roxas and his brother were born on the first of the year - the village’s most holy day. The day when all manner of gifts and offerings are brought up the mountain to the holy shrine, left for the god of the mountain as thanks for protecting their home - and as wishes for another year of protection and blessings.
For Roxas’ brother, being born on such a holy day is seen as a blessing, making him a special - almost revered - child.
For Roxas it makes things… complicated.
While custom dictates the sacrifice of changeling children… to do so to something born in the holiest of days is seen as near blasphemy. The elders argue and bicker for a week straight, before it’s decided.
Roxas will be raised on the outskirts of the village - fed, clothed, housed and kept in decent health - but otherwise shunned. Made to wear a mask around others - his face does not belong to him after, he has no right to show it.
And, upon his twentieth birthday, he will be the gift - the sacrifice - to the great god of the mountain, to do with as it pleases.
Roxas is resigned to his fate. Raised as he was, he believes himself a changeling - a creature spared wrath only for the luck of his birth, and destined to be a holy sacrifice. It’s this acceptance he carries with him as he is led up the mountain.
No one has seen the god of the mountain in lifetimes. Some say he takes the form of a great dragon. Other tales speak of a magnificent, flame-coated eagle. Others still, in hushed tones, warn of a fearsome beast.
Whatever the description, Roxas does not expect to be met with a tall, beautiful man with wild red hair and a cat-like smile. Nor does he expect this man - Axel - to be the ancient god of legend.
