Shatta Wale's Akropong show was massive than Ridge Condos - DJ Azonto
Ghanaian musician Mark Kwesi Arthur, popularly known as DJ Azonto, says Shatta Wale's concert at Akropong over the weekend was bigger and better than the Ridge Condos event in Kumasi. According to DJ Azonto, Shatta Wale's stagecraft at the Akropong show was incomparable and better than all the artists who were on the bill for the Ridge Condos. DJ Azonto's assertion comes after Shatta Wale staged a successful sold-out concert at Akropong while the likes of Stonebwoy, Gyakie, Medikal, and Kidi graced the Ridge Condos concert. Speaking in an interview, DJ Azonto said he was mesmerized by the stagecraft of Shatta Wale, who he says remains an idol in the Ghanaian music industry.

ROSINA WIDMANN // EDUCATOR
“She was a German educator and Basel missionary-wife who opened a girls’ school at Akropong in pre-colonial Ghana. She was the first exemplar of a European missionary-wife who worked in Ghana for a long period. Between 1847 and 1877, Widmann lived on the Gold Coast and was actively involved in both the Christian ministry and women's vocational education. Her sojourn in Akropong was in three phases: January 1847 to April 1850; December 1851 to June 1867 and January 1869 to spring 1877. Widmann was also a prolific writer, noted for her detailed diary entries of her thoughts and travels, everyday life as a missionary-wife, her interactions with her school pupils and with the Akan peoples of Akropong, providing a vivid narrative of nineteenth century European missionary activity in colonial Ghana, situated against the Akan culture.”

An Assessment of Inclusive Education Experiences of Teacher-Trainees with Sensory Impairment in Colleges of Education in Ghana
Effective Inclusive education experiences can be built through structured interventions. The purpose of the study was to assess the impact of inclusive education experiences on teacher-trainees with sensory impairment in the Ghana Colleges of Educations of Ghana. The study was based on pragmatist philosophy. The study adopted convergent parallel mixed-methods approach. The population involved all 66 students with sensory (visual and hearing) impaired in the three (3) CoEs (PCE, Akropong Akwapim, WESCO, Kumasi and NJA, Wa) that practice inclusive education (IE) during the 2018/19 academic year. Purposive and census sampling techniques were used to select the three (3) colleges of education and sixty-six students for the study. The main instruments for data collection were questionnaire and focus group discussion. The quantitative data items were coded for input into the Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 23 software and analysed using means and standard deviations. The qualitative extracts collected into themes that were coded, analysed and interpreted. The study revealed that teacher-trainees had varied experiences on campus, while they felt welcomed into the inclusive institution; they also felt the Colleges were not well prepared to meet their needs. The physical environment was not conducive for the VI on campus. It is recommended that, College authorities should work with the MoE and agencies concerned with disability issues in the society to provide comfortable environment on College campuses for TTSI. It is also recommended that, providing a comfortable environment should include facilities and resources needed for the TTSI to learn effectively. It also involves physical arrangement of the campus environment. The TTSI, regardless of their disabilities, should be provided with an environment where their movement, their studies, their interactions with their peers and tutors are made easier to help them graduate successfully.

Renner vs Ghana Music Awards: She has paid her dues through the years as an Indie Artiste, deserves the recognition!

Renner vs Ghana Music Awards: She has paid her dues through the years as an Indie Artiste, deserves the recognition!
Renner, fast-rising Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall & Afropop Singer is one for the books if we should be discussing some new skuul buzzing talents. From always shutting down countless multi-genre stages to releasing her own music and doing covers of mainstream artistes that saw her going viral, Renner, has definitely defended her talent effortlessly.
Still grinding through a male dominated scene, one already can picture how herculean it would to see this budding Singjay rise to mainstream recognition. Nonetheless, Renner was able to fight tooth and nail and make a big statement in 2023 with her debut EP “Never Stop Try”.
“Never Stop Try” EP, a 3-tracked project released in September of 2023 showcased her versatility through different genres from Dancehall/Reggae to Afro Fusion sounds — a style she employed to prove to us how dynamic she can be with her talent though she identifies more with the Reggae and Dancehall Community.
In lieu with her EP came with a sweet rebrand and relaunch into a new phase — special thanks to her Team, especially her Manager, Ras Deportee, who has been at the forefront of it all and guiding her through. Renner who is now signed to RNY Music is poised to rise to greater heights with the support of industry. Before RNY Music, Renner had a Team she was working with and released previous songs until now she’s releasing material under RNY Music.
Listen to “Never Stop Try” EP: https://open.spotify.com/album/4mC5oseKrzlqoB9bGKwjoc?si=niZMGTzBTtObuq175dfZQQ
Not just serving us an EP but she was visible across the length and breadth of the buzz playing gigs, engaging media connects and making good use of skits and other influential promotional activity to stay afloat.
Notable among the gigs she played are:
Edemfest/HoodTalk Music Festival 2023 – Ho Bhim Festival 2023
Kelvyn Boy’s Black Star Concert 2023
OKF Festival 2023 – Asante Akyem Agogo
Goldridge Concert 2023 – Wassa Akropong
Taste Of Ghana Festival 2023
Rhythms On The Runway 2023
Ras Kuuku’s Puom Fest 2023
As the Ghana Music Awards ready up to make an announcement this Thursday, March 28, 2024, Renner definitely deserves some spotlight and recognition for her hardwork within the past year of review.
Will be great to see her in the Reggae/Dancehall Categories as well as “Best New Artiste” Slot. The Reggae/Dancehall category especially would be a good one to have her in there — she has paid her dues and rightfully deserves that spotlight!

While I'm introducing Ghanaians to proper digitalisation, Mahama is still talking about 'akonfem' — Bawumia teases
Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched a scathing attack on John Dramani Mahama’s administration, labeling it an “akonfem era” – a term implying chaos and disorder. Addressing supporters at the Ofie Mega Walk in Akropong, Dr. Bawumia emphasized Ghana’s need for a digital age, not an “akonfem age”. Dr. Bawumia unveiled his vision for transforming Ghana…

West Africa wants more of Europe’s chocolate pie
Growing and exporting cocoa beans may be big business in Ivory Coast, but it’s low-margin and volatile. A government strategy to boost the processing sector could give the country a more profitable and stable bite of the chocolate bar. SWI swissinfo.ch special series: An African perspective on cocoa Native to Central and South America, cocoa cultivation in West Africa has first been recorded as far back as 1868. The archives of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew refer to a few cocoa trees that were thriving on the property of the Swiss missionary charity Basel Mission in Akropong in what was then known as the British Crown colony of Gold Coast. Today, the West African countries of Ivory Coast and Ghana produce over 60% of the world’s cocoa beans and Switzerland has become synonymous with chocolate. This mutually beneficial relationship has come under strain in recent years. Ivory Coast and Ghana are no longer satisfied with their meagre slice of $6 billion of the $120 billion... https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/business/west-africa-wants-more-of-europe-s-chocolate-pie/48307014?utm_campaign=swi-rss&utm_source=multiple&utm_medium=rss&utm_content=o (Source of the original content)

Matter of fact, not far from where this makeshift gym is a more upscale gym which has all professional gym equipment you'll find at your local GoodLife or LA Fitness. Furthermore, the gentleman who took this video is a lawyer who practice law in Accra and has access to top notch gyms, however, there's something about this place that fuels us like those other places can not. I discovered this place on ig via @kulbila_fitness and @africanbodybuildersavenue about 2 years ago and I made it a point to visit when I come to Ghana and words can not express how humbled I am to fulfill this wish.
