sorry if this comes off as awkwardly worded I'm bad with sentence structures. but I've been following you for a few years so of course seeing your art style change got me curious on what your style inspirations might be and how you mightve personally gotten used to your current style? (like for example: say you had a specific style in mind due to your inspirations while still being in the realm of kinda easy for you to get to overtime)

personally I'm still finding a style I fully like but hink it'd be interesting to hear from your perspective on how it went for you since you're also one of my insps

please don't apologize, i think it's a really interesting question! i personally do think that style is something that emerges from the process of drawing rather than something you purposefully cultivate, yet it's not totally random; it's worthwhile to collect inspirations & study how specific artists that you admire approach issues in their art, that is, how they convey volume/mood/etc

putting my whole response under the read more :-)

like, with a very specific example, eyes-- if i'm struggling to draw eyes at a certain angle, i'll look at a photograph or realistic 3d model of the face at that angle in addition to a stylized representation by an artist i admire, and try to understand how they converted the shapes into lines.

personally, i think that people can worry too much about having a distinct style-- it's always seemed to me that, even if you don't notice it yourself, everyone has an "innate" way of portraying information in art.. that is, you do stylize things in a certain& distinct way even if you don't see it; it's an accent rather than clothing*

aand my current biggest inspirations :-)

akai sashimi -> draws the most adorable art i've seen, ever

zinaida serebriakova -> just an incredibly talented artist, this piece of hers was the first i saw and i was totally in awe of it

tsuruta kenji -> draws beautiful women and landscapes

isaac levitan -> it almost feels like an insult to him to list him as an inspiration but i will forever remain humbled by his landscapes.

*godawful analogy i know, sorry
