Beautiful! This reminds me of backgrounds and borders in Art Deco paintings. Mr. Dulak the art history teacher taught us about Art Deco in eighth grade. I drew a Zeppelin framed by a yellow, green, and red geometric border pattern. I wonder if that drawing is still tucked away somewhere at my parents' place.
btw there was actually an art project led by three students (Ail Hwang, Hae-Ryaan Jeon and Ghung Ki Park) in Germany to install colorful window panes onto an electrical transmission tower to create a stained glass mosaic effect, called "Leuchtturm" ("lighthouse") and even such a simple effect is dazzling

applying ointment to my Squid Game-induced wounds by thinking about a feel-good Community! AU where all of the characters are able to study and grow together, not being placed in a situation that brings out the worst in them. Thanos is standing on the bridge railing when the recruiter hands him a poorly made brochure of a community college. Maybe that's his chance for a better life?
Seong Gi-Hun returns to college after skipping a year to care for his ailing mother. He sets up a study group, which is being infiltrated by the local Dean, Hwang In-Ho, who wears a campy costume and assumes a secret identity, willing to make sure that Gi-Hun won't share last year's test answers with his study mates (and he so would). His costume is so ridiculous that everyone but Gi-Hun understands that it's the Dean from first sight (well, that's the Duali-Dean of Man for you).
Dae-Ho comes to study Elementary Education after being forced to join the Marines by his father who deemed his dreams of becoming a teacher too "unmanlike". Mother and son reunite: it turns out both Yong-Sik and Geum-Ja have applied for the same college, not telling each other in an O'Henry-esque manner. They both want to study accounting, fostering a secret dream to set up a small shop together. Well, not that secret anymore. Geum-Ja is nervous about not fitting in: not only is she noticeably older than the majority of students, but she also didn't have the chance to graduate high school. She wanted it to be different for Yong-Sik, so she pledged to get him to college. and so she did, arranging everything and even carefully choosing his major, ensuring he'll always find a job. Geum-Ja still doesn't get why after a year he dropped out of college, losing interest even in the things he loved before. but this time it will be different, right?
they all had their fair share of problems. well, they still do. but at least for the moment, their biggest worries are which of the rivaling study groups will take the library or who will win in a paintball match. me and the Squid Game characters be like:

TRUE BEAUTY // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb: 8 Benim puanım: 8
Drama: True Beauty
Hangul:
Director: Kim Sang-Hyub
Writer: Yaongyi (webcomic), Lee Si-Eun
Date: 2021
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast: Mun Ka-Young, Cha Eun-Woo, Hwang In-Yeop, Park Yoo-Na, Kang Min-Ah
Tavsiye ederim. Hwang In-Yeop kalp.

there are worse fates than death, inho has learned while paving a way towards hell, cruelties so unimaginably cataclysmic you would rather wish to be dead than to live through every aching second of it—people have flung themselves into abandonment for less, even. humanity, this fickle, fragile thing he has studied up close for most of his life, first in the military, surrounded by men who would rather be anywhere else but here (of course, he was one of them, with a seemingly perpetually ailing brother at home ; nevertheless he thrived in the law and order, unlike most of them), then in the police force and, most recently, under an absurdly clear magnifying glass. laying bare the stench of fear and the horror of greed, and inho had watched, watched and won, emerged victorious among the many and the few. he knows himself better than most other people would, but perhaps not as well as his brother knows him. who has spent years of his life following, watching, winning—studying inho until he grew half a head taller than him and would only ever look down upon his older brother, that mirage kept purposely out of reach, how he left the ghost of his former, sick self behind and became something more, someone inho could barely recognize some days. just a shadow of who he used to be left within the dark of his eyes, emerging whenever he would find his brother, begging him to cook for him, convenience store ramyeon and samgyeopsal and their mother's jjigae, and inho would indulge him, with the softest part of himself belly up, that everlasting heart he could never quite outrun, the single, sole organ impossible to calcify.
he feels it now, the thrum of his heart insistently loud inside his own ears, his pulse hammering away something awful—junho's unwavering belief in his brother is one of such heinous cruelties, put on display for everyone with the eyes to see, with the teeth to sink into, with the stomach to endure it. for it cannot be a light thing and it cannot be so easily digested, love like a stone inside inho's chest, like iron through his veins. his brother is heavy with it, and inho can faintly remember how he would hold a newborn in his arms, small and frail, born prematurely, promising a lifetime of sickness. back then, he had yet to find out that he would be the cure to junho's ailments, and occasionally he had found himself wondering—while looking at his wife's peaceful face, fast asleep, thinking of their unborn child—what would he have done if he would have known back then, sixteen years old and none the wiser, that, one day, he would hold his brother's life in the palm of his hand, again, stuck beneath the edge of his knife.
you put a bullet in me / another organ to keep you anchored to me.
inho sighs, burdened by the sensation of feeling every single year, every week, every minute he has spent alive so far, weighing him into the wooden floor of this temporary home. here, with junho a shade of pale between the dark of his sheets, inho feels old, older than he should be, older than he ever thought he would be. his hand passes over junho's face with the faint, foreign affection of a week and several lifetimes between them, a severance paradoxically tethering them to each other. junho is still like the sea, but his mouth is moving, and the words come all slurred and jumbled together, and inho would love to apologize—forgive me for taking you here, for leaving you behind, forgive me for the things i have done that you have never known of, that you have found out about, forgive me for all the things i have done and for what i have yet to do—but bloodshed bears no guilt. what is done is done, this wound, this infliction, has passed between them. whatever has happened before is irrelevant. this is the aftermath, the afterimage of devotion.
" hwang junho, " inho says, and the name is another indulgence, or maybe his own brand of cruelty. a chiding. an affection. his fingers are warm and junho's skin is damp and cool wherever he touches him, chest and scar and abdomen, a palm to the flatness of his stomach. stay where you are. " you know better than to lie to keep me where i am, or get your way, " he speaks, and suddenly they are fifteen and thirty-one again, ten and twenty-six. inho watches his brother with the tilt of a head, and draws his hand away slowly, as if junho might startle like a wild animal. " sleep. i will be here when you wake up. "
the trail he picked up on would have never led him anywhere else. when he first made it here, the small piece of cardboard paper in his possession, he should have know than any road he'd go down would lead him to his brother and him alone. even if junho had to walk through hell, a hell of inho's own making, he'd have walked the same way again and again if it meant he'd see his brother's face again. to find it on the other side of a few paces of rocky terrain with a cliff behind him wasn't what junho expected - he expected worse, he expected better, though he never expected inho to be whole the moment he saw what he landed himself in. junho had though inho hurt, or missing, and even some modicum of dead ( though he'd swear he'd feel it before even seeing it ) but he has not expected him to be the face behind the black mask, not until he saw the front man on his trail the way he was. footfall junho would know anywhere, could detect by sound alone even on something as faint as carpet, how lucky for him that the front man's suite had wooden panelling, no way to mistake the movements of his brother's ghost, only the sick and sinking feeling of hope he might be wrong. but junho so rarely is, least of all about inho.
the moment he saw inho hurt more than the bullet did, the bullet only spilled more blood than the phantom ache of knowing his brother has gone down a path he didn't want junho to find out about. only wanted him to follow when he had no way to back out, when junho confronted him with the verbal finesse of a sick boy left alone for too long while the world went on around him and without him, not the seasoned speech of a police officer. under inho's eye on that cliff he was a teenager again, he was a child made sick by his own body again, he was a college student who wondered how his brother could have been in the military the time he was junho's age sixteen years prior. he was nothing more but agony stuffed into a body, agony that could only be remedied by his brother, with no way for his brother to do that when they found the irreconcilable impasse of inho's absence staring them in the face and staring down a bond forged in the same blood junho found virtually impossible to render obsolete, to make away from this world. he would die for his brother, was ready to die finding his brother, and only his resolve to bring junho back home kept him from giving up - kept him on this island for far too long - only to be hurt by the one hand that he'd hurt everyone else for, that he'd never thought would hurt him.
when inho speaks to him again, it is all dark, the cliff gone from his view and only his brother's knee in front of him, the blackness of his fine trousers and the scent of damp sea salt only an afterthought against the familiarity of inho's innate smell and feeling under junho's cheek. he could barely remember how he got here, does not know how he got here, but it must mean he is not dead yet ( maybe he is, maybe he is dreaming before the white light, maybe this is his mind conjuring up the image of a brother that loves him to soothe the stain of a brother that shot him. ) but this illusion of his brother is solid under him, a weight heavy though never as tall as junho has grown, and his voice sounds as chiding as the one that forced junho to study for his csat or the police exam, that got him into after-school hagwon's and back into a good taekwondo school when junho's doctors cleared him for exercise again after the transplant adjusted to his body. when inho tells him to stay put, junho does, thinking nothing to follow can be as bad as getting shot, thinking his brother wouldn't just take him into the dark not to save him, would he?
the blunt force of the pain renders him silent again, only his body responding to inho seemingly digging another hole right on top of the one he already put in his shoulder. junho can't breathe, only in a faint gasps like an animal put down by a hunter's terrible aim, and he wonders if he isn't just the same right now anyway. the ache is acute and right there beneath his skin, his brother hurting him to save him, and if junho were more lucid he'd know easily that inho is extracting a bullet from his shoulder without any anaesthesia or medical equipment beyond the knife in his hand. as is, junho, a pale twist to his mouth, only blinks his eyes when inho pushes something into his hand and follows the guided movement of inho's hand around his pressed against his shoulder, moving away only for his brother to dress the wound in the military fashion of mandatory service junho never had to follow. " i told you i'll be fine by morning. " junho says, smile as bloodless as his face, his body manoeuvred from the floor he was kneeling on to the bed he's seen before when he infiltrated the place, the strange dark sheets and the cold interior even freezing under the golden light of the lamps. he blinks again, looking at the swimming vision of his brother. " if i stay put, you won't leave me again, right? don't leave me again. "

GIRLSRUS PROFILE
Tumblr media
GirlsRus was an eight member girl group under Hysteria Entertainment and the companies first group. They debuted October 11th, 2012 with their song "The Boys". It was an instant success in South Korea and achieved number one spots on music shows like Music Bank, Inkigayo, and M Countdown. The groups concepts ranged from girl next door to playful girl-crush and later on, mature. In July of 2019, the company announced the group would be going on an indefinite hiatus. So while not disbanded, they currently are involved in solo activities or have chosen to live a more private life. They’re last comeback before hiatus was “Holiday” and second title track “All Night” from their album “Girls Generation” which was promoted a month before their official hiatus began.
CONCEPT:
Girl next door and later on playful mixed with boy-crush. Their songs were usually EDM and pop based and upbeat though they were often acknowledged for their ballads due to their vocal ability.
MEMBERS:
Original Members - Nam Hajoon (2012 - 2016) Park Aerin (2012 - 2019) Park Hyoyeon (2012 - 2019) Cho Hyeonju (2012 - 2019) Song Euju (2012 - 2017) Lee Sujin (2012 - 2019) An Seonyeong (2012 - 2018) Yoo Hyejin (2012 - 2016)
Added Members - Hwang Seulgi (2016 - 2019) Chu Yujin (2016- 2019) Choi Minji (2017 - 2019)
HISTORY:
tw: mentions of death, bullying, injuries, harassment, suicide attempts, body dysmorphia
Nam Hajoon left in 2016 to care for her ailing father who eventually passed away in late 2017. Song Euju left in early 2017 after suffering a severe back injury in a skiing trip. An Seonyeong left in late 2018 after her contract expired and chose to live life out of the spotlight. Yoo Hyejin left in 2016 due to indifferences with fellow member Sujin. The two often argued and did not get along very well. Hyejin decided to pursue a producing career at another company.
The group was praised for their visuals and vocal ability and were often noticed for their various acapella and acoustic performances.
In 2016, member Hyoyeon and Minhyuk of BTOB experienced a dating scandal. It was denied at first but eventually the two admitted to their relationship in early 2017 and had been dating since 2014. They had been friends and trained together at cube before Hyoyeon came to Hysteria Entertainment. The couple broke up towards the end of 2018.
Aerin and Daejung of CRAYDLE dated from 2013 - 2015.
GirlsRus are considered to be a top idol group in South Korea and many girl groups that debuted after them look up to them even to this day. Their songs often peaked within the top 5 of music charts and their comebacks often won first place at music shows.
the group had been considered a rival to f(x) and fans of both groups often fought despite various members of each group being good friends and the groups often congratulated each other on their respective achievements.
Sujin was a former Starpunch Entertainment trainee and is best friends with @leejieun-official. The two were actually supposed to debut in a four member girl group at starpunch but the idea was axed. Jieun decided to become a soloist and Sujin left the company for Hysteria.
With the groups indefinite hiatus, the remaining members have all taken on solo activities like modeling, acting, choreographing or have chosen to take advantage of the break and live their lives fairly privately.
Hajoon and Eunhyuk of super junior experienced multiple dating scandals after being spotted out "on dates" together. Though the two have always been just friends and never were romantically involved. When Hajoons father passed away, sasaeng fans of Eunhyuk harassed and made fun of it online, sending vile images mocking his death.
Chu Yujin, who came in shortly after Hyejin left received a lot of hate from anti-fans, who often made fun of her weight and compared her to the former member. Hyejin was one of the most popular members and sasaeng fans did not like the idea of her being replaced. The bullying led to Yujin developing depression and anxiety. She attempted suicide in 2018, went on hiatus to deal with her mental health and returned in early 2019. With the groups hiatus, she has been behind the scenes at Hysteria helping trainees and other artists with tutoring and also acts as a counselor to them in regards to mental health.
Choi Minji is currently a choreographer for the company and choreographs for the current groups HEROES and ROZIE while Cho Hyeonju acts as a vocal coach for the company.

Pretty Li Hui Zhen. 5
Story: 8
Acting: 9
Chemistry: 5
This is the Chinese version of the original Korean’s She Was Pretty. Sometimes remakes works, sometimes they don’t. For me this was a big no-no. For one thing they took a 16 episode drama and stretch it into 40 and made no new nor better improvements to the original. Then for some reason they turned the female character into a total childish naive borderline idiot.😔 Mind you Hwang Jung Eum character in SWP was naive and childish too, you still could rationalize that she was an adult, in this they f do ailed it up by 100. Next comes the male lead, which yeah pales in comparison to Park Seo Joon character AND actor too. The only character that worked for me to the point where I loved both versions was Vin Zhang’s character, which again unfortunately leads to major second male lead syndrome again. Overall I prefer She Was Pretty first especially for those who if you haven’t already, if your curious of this one I’ll definitely admit the fast forward button comes quite handy.

THE SOUND OF MAGIC // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb puanı: 7,7 Benim puanım: 7
Drama: The Sound of Magic
Hangul:
Director: Kim Sung-Yoon
Writer: Ha Il-Kwon (webcomic), Kim Min-Jung
Episodes: 6
Date: 2022
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast: Ji Chang-Wook, Choi Sung-Eun, Hwang In-Yeop
Webtoon uyarlaması bir Kore dizisi The Sound of Magic ile devam ediyoruz.
Okuldan sonra part-time işlerde çalıyor.
Onunla ilgili dizide tek sevdiğim şey bütün saydığım kaygıları yansıtmak için “A curse of asphalt” şarkısının çekim sahneleriydi.

btw there was actually an art project led by three students (Ail Hwang, Hae-Ryaan Jeon and Ghung Ki Park) in Germany to install colorful window panes onto an electrical transmission tower to create a stained glass mosaic effect, called "Leuchtturm" ("lighthouse") and even such a simple effect is dazzling

Samsung apologizes for workers’ sicknesses, deaths

SEOUL, Korea, Republic Of — Samsung Electronics apologized Friday for illnesses and deaths of some of its workers, saying it failed to create a safe working environment at its computer chip and display factories.
The announcement by the South Korean technology giant came weeks after the company and a group representing ailing Samsung workers agreed to accept compensation terms suggested by a mediator and end a highly-publicized standoff that went on for more than a decade. The company’s apology was part of the settlement.
Kinam Kim, president of Samsung’s device solutions division, said the company failed to “sufficiently manage health threats” at its semiconductor and liquid crystal display manufacturing lines. As detailed in Associated Press reporting over the past decade, dozens of employees who worked there have experienced grave illnesses such as leukemia and brain tumors.

“We offer our sincere apology to our workers who have suffered with illnesses and their families,” Kim said during a news conference in Seoul, which was also attended by activists and relatives of the workers.
But while cutting a deal and loosely admitting to lapses in safety standards, Samsung has yet to fully acknowledge its workplace environment as the direct cause of the illnesses.
The standoff began in 2007 when taxi driver Hwang Sang-gi refused to accept a settlement after his 23-year-old daughter died of leukemia after working at a Samsung factory. Hwang’s efforts to clarify the cause of Yu-mi’s death and hold Samsung responsible for problems related to working conditions galvanized a broader movement to hold businesses and the government accountable for safety lapses in the chip and display industries, which use huge amounts of chemicals.
“No apology would be enough when considering the deception and humiliation we experienced (from Samsung) over the past 11 years, the pain of suffering from occupational diseases, the pain of losing loved ones,” Hwang said at the news conference. “But I take today’s apology as a promise from Samsung Electronics,” to improve the safety of its workplaces, he said.
According to the settlement, Samsung will compensate for various illnesses of employees who have worked at its chip and LCD factories since 1984, including as much as 150 million won ($132,000) for leukemia. The compensation also covers miscarriages and congenital illnesses of the workers’ children such as child cancer.
Since 2008, dozens of workers have sought occupational safety compensation from the government. Few won compensation, mostly after years of court battles. Half the remaining claims were rejected and half remain under review.
Families of the victims often have depleted their savings and sold their homes to pay hospital bills. Some workers end up incapacitated and unable to work.
